In this episode, it's the eve of the early muskrat trapping season opener, I'm over extended in work and life, fur prices remain in the tank, and I still can't help but love to talk trapping! I give a shout out to Kris Pope, who recently started his "Coyote Trapping School" podcast, talk muskrat trapping with HagZ spring clips, mention the legend W.A. Gibbs of the muskrat swamps, my recent purchase of old O'Gorman trapping supply catalogs, and an invite to give a demo at next year's Neil Olson's New England Trappers Weekend. I then talk a bit about Robert Marshall's book "Arctic Village", and read an excerpt from the book about trapping in 1930's Wiseman, Alaska. Thanks to Kaatz Bros. Lures for sponsoring the podcast! Be sure to leave a review of the podcast on Itunes between now and next week to be entered to win a Kaatz Bros 'Got Skunked' T-shirt! Links: Coyote Trapping School podcast HagZ Spring Clips W.A. In this episode, Cole Porter and I discuss our experiences at Neil Olson's 42nd annual New England Trappers Weekend in Bethel, Maine. The episode is recorded on the car ride home, so you'll notice some background noise and a few distractions, but I think we had a great conversation about what we picked up from the event. In my mind, there are three aspects to a trapper's convention: 1) the people you meet and reunite with, 2) the things you learn from other trappers and demonstrations, and 3) the traps and supplies you get stocked up on. We discussed each of these topics, from a couple of different perspectives. The main theme I picked up on from this convention was the idea that competition is good, if it's fair and you allow it to motivate you. Some of the highlights of the weekend were the chance to meet and learn from Red O'Hearn, Mark Zagger and Gary Jepson, and a series of other demonstrations that we learned at least one or two things from. We got to catch up with several guys we met last year, and scored some pretty good deals on supplies, though we spent too much money like we always tend to do at shows. This is a long podcast and we covered a wide variety of topics, so feel free to let me know if there's something we could explain better or go into more detail on. And be sure to support our sponsor, Kaatz Bros. Lures. Their support for the show is what keeps bringing you new episodes each week. Thanks and enjoy!

Official Website: https://www.lawabidingbiker.com The Last Motorcycle on Earth is being filmed in Missoula, Montana by Writer, Director, and Cinematographer Eric Ristau on a shoestring budget and it's a true passion project for him. I interviewed Eric back on podcast episode #68 about his Sit, Stay, Ride Sidecar Dogs Documentary Film. In this episode, I have the pleasure of talking with Eric and his lead actor and co-producer of the film, Neil Olson. Also involved in the film is Eric's wife, Geneva Ristau, who is a co-producer and editor. Eric is part of the law abiding biker community and produces great films for bikers. SUPPORT US AND SHOP IN THE OFFICIAL LAW ABIDING BIKER STORE It is not cheap to create films such as this and the expenses are piling up. So far, everything has been done out of pocket and on a tight budget. Eric has started an Indiegogo Fundraiser to assist with expensive items such as visual effects, sound mixing, and music composition and the fundraiser ends mid-May 2018. These things would give the film more value for the audience. There are rewards dependant on your contribution amount. Top rewards include a speaking role in the movie and more! It is yet to be determined if this will be a stand-alone film or spawn into a series. I will definitely be supporting Eric and the crew in moving forward! This motorcycle film looks so promising and I'm excited about it after watching the official trailer! The Last Motorcycle on Earth is a dramatic series about a vintage motorcycle collector and bike builder, Conrad Mendel, as he grapples with a new world of technology that threatens to destroy his passion and way of life.
