The Warriors smashed the Sydney Roosters 42-18 in front of a sold-out home crowd to open their season in league's NRL with a bang. Playmakers Chanel Harris-Tavita and Tanah Boyd had their hands in three tries each. Harris-Tavita scored two and set up one, while Boyd crossed for the opener and assisted two. Boyd told Piney it was an extremely satisfying result. He says you work so hard in the preseason, and to see it come out in last night's performance was obviously very pleasing. North Carolina's ACC baseball season begins on Friday with the Virginia Cavaliers coming to Boshamer Stadium for a three game series against the Tar Heels. It will be the first time since the 2024 College World Series the two long time rivals have matched up and the first time since the 2023 season the Cavs have made the trip south to Chapel Hill. Carolina's last series win came in the 2021 season when the Heels took two of three from UVa in Boshamer Stadium. Both teams have had success in the early non-conference season with Carolina owning a 12-1-1 record while Virginia comes in at 11-2. Inside Carolina's Grace Nugent and Tommy Ashley break down the matchups across the diamond with a focus on pitching and defense for head coach Scott Forbes's Carolina team and a preview of new Virginia coach (and previous Duke coach) Chris Pollard's blended roster of former Blue Devils and holdovers from Virginia after Brian O'Conner left for Mississippi State in 2025. AJ Gracia and Eric Becker highlight Virginia's lineup in the field while former Devils Henry Zatkowski and Max Stammel are two of the expected weekend starters on the mound. **Call to Action:** **Subscribe:** Follow 'Inside Carolina' wherever you get your podcasts to never miss an episode! **Review:** Leave us a 5-star review on Apple Podcasts or Spotify to help us reach more Tar Heel fans! **Visit:** Explore http://www.InsideCarolina.com for breaking news, recruiting updates, and expert commentary on all things UNC sports. This show is brought to you by Inside Carolina, the No. 1 site for UNC sports coverage and community. The old saying in baseball is that “momentum is only as good as the next day's starter,” which shows how important having a good pitching staff is to a club. As part of our 2026 regular season preview, it's time to figure out who will do the best job of limiting their opponents' offense. On this episode of Baseball Bar-B-Cast, Jake Mintz and Jordan Shusterman draft all 30 MLB clubs based on who they feel will have the best pitching and hitting this season. While every squad wishes they had a Tarik Skubal, Shohei Ohtani or Paul Skenes to lead their pitching staff, will teams like the Seattle Mariners and Milwaukee Brewers still be able to find success on the bump? Later, Jake and Jordan discuss the second PED suspension handed to Atlanta Braves outfielder Jurickson Profar, causing him to miss the entire 2026 season after he was suspended for eight games in 2025. They then get into the latest news surrounding the World Baseball Classic, including a surprising name joining Team Dominican Republic and Team USA finalizing its rotation for the tournament. 1:05 – The Opener: 2026 Run Prevention Draft 19:40 – Teams 1–10 recap 35:30 – Teams 11–20 recap 46:22 – Teams 21–30 recap 47:11 – We Need To Talk About: Profar suspended 56:50 – New Team DR roster addition 1:00:19 – Team USA's rotation Subscribe to Baseball Bar-B-Cast on your favorite podcast app:

You can't win a baseball game without scoring runs, and since it's such a pivotal part of winning, it's time to take a look at all 30 teams and who might have the best offensive production this season. With the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers leading their respective leagues last season, will another team be able to outslug them this year? On this episode of Baseball Bar-B-Cast, Jake Mintz and Jordan Shusterman draft all 30 teams based on who they think will score the most runs this season, from most to least. While the Dodgers and Yankees may be taken early, there are a few picks (looking at you, Sacramento Athletics and Atlanta Braves) that may surprise you. Could the new additions to the Baltimore Orioles and Boston Red Sox push them higher in the draft? Later, Jake and Jordan discuss the St. Louis Cardinals giving a two-year extension to manager Oliver Marmol and the possible reasoning behind GM Chaim Bloom's decision to make this move now. Then, the guys talk about the pandemonium surrounding Shohei Ohtani during his return to Japan as he goes out and about with his World Baseball Classic club. 1:56 - The Opener: 2026 offense draft 22:25 - Teams 1–10 recap 44:56 - Teams 11–20 recap 56:53 - Teams 21–30 recap 57:56 - Around The League: Cardinals extend Marmol 1:04:26 - Shohei Ohtani makes noise in Japan Subscribe to Baseball Bar-B-Cast on your favorite podcast app:

Opener: 7 Wonders Dice Closer: Mark Madness 2026 (with Adam Brocker) preview - Register for free and make your predictions at https://challonge.com/MarkMadness2026! I've recently come back from a vacation in Germany. Once upon a time in this hobby, that really meant something significant. Germany was the worldwide headquarters and creative generator for boardgaming. Gamers in other countries hung on scraps of information, imported products, and had to learn a little of the German language to really be an active part of strategy boardgaming. In a way, that extra effort was also part of the fun, a level of commitment & dedication that went way beyond what it took to be a videogamer or cinephile. But, it's also true that it was a barrier to wider growth of the hobby. I'm talking about 20-30 years ago. Now, in 2026, it's notably different. I don't think we even speak "Gamer German" any longer!

Vikings Cast a Wide Net at QB for 2026 After Brzezinski's Combine Comments — Dave from Vikings First in SKOL recaps February 24, 2026 on this Vikings Daily Opener, news from the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, where Vikings cap/FO executive Rob Brzezinski says the team is “exploring all possibilities” to improve quarterback play in 2026 and “not ruling anything out,” signaling J.J. McCarthy is on notice despite Kevin O'Connell still calling him the franchise QB while acknowledging the timeline has changed. The episode frames the Vikings as seeking a baseline level of competent QB play and discusses what a “wide net” could include, ranging from top-end veteran options to competition/bridge quarterbacks, naming Kyler Murray, Aaron Rodgers, a possibly retired Derek Carr, Kirk Cousins (noting potential release in Atlanta), Geno Smith, Mac Jones, Malik Willis, Anthony Richardson, and a lower tier including Marcus Mariota and Jimmy Garoppolo (with additional mentions like Spencer Rattler). Brzezinski emphasizes the team won't force a bad fit (“can't manufacture what's not there”) and is running the front office through after the draft under owner Mark Wilf, while O'Connell downplays any drama regarding the former GM now in San Francisco. Dave concludes the Vikings are being more aggressive at quarterback than since the 2009 Brett Favre move, presenting the approach as “re-arming” rather than rebuilding and inviting any potential QB to join a team featuring Justin Jefferson and a loud home stadium. 00:00 SKOL Nation Intro 01:13 Combine Bombshell 02:13 JJ On Notice 04:01 Coach Speak Reality 04:56 Top Tier Targets 06:34 Veteran Competition 08:49 Fallback Options 09:32 Front Office Power 11:15 What It Means 12:58 Rearming Finale FAN WITH US!
