Our giving, your giving means something to Jesus. It is not the actual amount, but that amount compared to what you have. There’s no command here to give everything you have.

The bible tells us that we cannot outgive God, and he will return what we give pressed down and running over. We often think of that in terms of money, but the bible does not say anything about money. If we give of our time and efforts, God will honor that. The woman in our text gave everything she had to the offering. No one would have faulted this woman for holding back one of the coins, but she didn’t do that. Others gave some that day, but this woman gave all. Her want to serve God was worth everything she had. We may not have much to offer, but we must be willing to give what we have to God.

Where is your devotion? Where do you place your love, loyalty, and enthusiasm? These are important questions to ponder as we study Mark 12:41-44. Listen as Mike Ladenburger leads us through this passage and the example Jesus gave us while He observed the widow’s offering. What does Jesus do: • Jesus observed, and He’s still observing • Jesus called, and He’s still calling • Jesus taught, and He’s still teaching

"Keeping it Simple" Wednesday night services. Verse by verse teaching through the book of Mark by Assistant Pastor Darrell Logan of Calvary Queen Creek, AZ.
Join us again ONSITE or ONLINE Sunday at 10am as we finish out the Thanksgiving Weekend. Our homework has been to "Choose Thankful" by mentally finding a bench and viewing God's handwork and beauty in our life, even in challenging times. This week we focus on practical measures to express our thankfulness. "Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe." (Hebrews 12:28)

Sermon on Mark 12:41-44, where the Lord Jesus shows that one poor widow's tiny offering was more valuable than all of the much larger offerings given by the wealthy at the Temple. She gave all that she had, and did so in faith. The Lord (as if often the case) does not see things the same way that we do.

The greatness of the testimony has nothing to do with the size of the gift.
It's human nature to think that the true value of a thing can be recognized by it's size or quantity. But God looks deeper than the gift itself, He considers intent of the giver. Something to think about. Thanks for joining us. Let's join Pastor Phil in Mark chapter 12, verse 41 for today's teaching. Original Message: 2-9-95

It is really important to know where your treasure is becuase according to Jesus that is where your heart is. Yet despite that warning from Jesus many time we are tempted to make money our treasure. Perhpas the best way we can be sure to not put our treasure in the wrong place to is to learn to be generous. Join us in week one as we start to learn that when it comes to being generous it is all about what God wants FOR you than FROM you as we spend time with Jesus as he spends time watching people giving their offerings at the temple one day.

In the sixth message of a series from the Gospel of Mark, Dr. Childs discusses three lessons from the story of the widow's offering. 1. Her giving is evidence that she has accepted God's sovereignty a. Her plight b. Her options c. Her resolution 2. Her giving is evidence that she has trusted God's provision a. She was "all in" b. Four types of givers: token, surplus, tithers, sacrificial c. My struggle 3. Her giving is evidence that she has believed in God's work. a. Her recklessness b. Two things we can do with our resources: spend, invest
