Delight Your Marriage | Relationship Advice, Christianity, & Sexual Intimacy
Creating Better Habits for a Better Marriage: Michael's Story You love your wife. You love your family. And you'd do anything for them. But if you're honest… things don't feel quite the same as they used to. Maybe you're exhausted from work, the baby, or the endless list of responsibilities. Maybe your evenings with your wife now look more like two roommates collapsed on the couch—silent, tired, and just hoping tomorrow will be better. That's exactly where Michael found himself. A good man. A loving husband. A dad who adored his toddler son. And yet—he noticed the spark in his marriage was fading. Instead of ignoring it, he made a decision that changed everything. And maybe that's where you are today. Masculinity Reclaimed Foundations for Lasting Change Michael wasn't looking for fluff. He wasn't looking for self-help tricks that sound nice but fall flat. He wanted something biblical. Something that honored God's design for intimacy. Something practical enough to implement while juggling fatherhood and career. That's when he discovered Masculinity Reclaimed Foundations. From the very beginning, he noticed it wasn't complicated. Daily gratitude. Encouraging words. Apologies when needed. Intentional listening. Simple? Yes. Easy? Not always. But transformational? Absolutely. Michael said it “sparked something new.” He began noticing his wife respond in ways she hadn't before. Even more surprising—she started picking up the same habits he was practicing, without ever being taught them directly. One morning, while out on a walk, she said, “I forgot to write my gratitudes today.” Michael was stunned. Gratitudes were part of his new daily rhythm—something the program had challenged him to do. He hadn't even invited her into it. But she saw his consistency, and she was inspired to follow. That's the power of godly leadership. Christian Marriage Intimacy That Transforms Daily Life Michael realized intimacy was about more than the physical. Yes, God designed sex as a beautiful, holy gift—but intimacy starts long before the bedroom. When a wife feels safe, known, and wholeheartedly cherished, her heart opens. That's the essence of Christian marriage intimacy: a holistic connection that touches body, soul, and spirit. For Michael, it meant slowing down. Looking his wife in the eye. Really listening when she spoke—not just nodding while his mind wandered. Offering compliments, even when it felt small. Expressing love, even in the middle of an ordinary day. And the results? Their evenings shifted. Instead of collapsing into silence, they began talking again. Laughing again. Rebuilding the kind of bond that made marriage joyful instead of draining. Maybe that's what's missing in your marriage. Maybe you're craving closeness but don't know where to start. Michael would tell you—start small. Gratitude. Encouragement. Listening. And watch how God multiplies it. Christian Husband Leadership That Inspires Your Wife Here's the truth: someone has to go first. Too many men wait, hoping their wives will change before they do. But waiting is not leadership. Michael discovered that a Christian husband's leadership is about modeling the very change you want to see. Choosing gratitude when negativity feels easier. Speaking life instead of criticism. Creating joy where tension used to rule. Surrendering pride in order to serve. And his wife responded. Not because he pressured her. Not because he demanded it. But because love that reflects Christ is contagious. Friend, this is the hard but freeing truth: leadership begins with you. Your wife may or may not immediately change. But your consistent obedience to Christ's call—to love your wife as He loved the church—will never return void. Marriage Transformation Stories That Stir Hope When Michael first joined the program, he rated his marriage a 7 or 8 out of 10. Good. Steady. But he knew something was missing. After stepping into these practices, his wife said something that stopped him in his tracks: “This has been transformational for our marriage.” That's not just improvement. That's restoration. And Michael's story isn't unique. Week after week, we hear marriage transformation stories from men all over the world—young dads, empty-nesters, husbands married for two years or fifty. The common thread? They chose to lead with love. To step into accountability. To embrace God's way, not culture's distortions. And God met them there. If He can do it for Michael, He can do it for you. Final Thoughts Let me ask you directly: where is your marriage today? Maybe it feels “good but not great.” Maybe the spark is gone, and you're worried what things will look like in five or ten years. Maybe you're exhausted from parenting and silently grieving the closeness you once had. Friend, you don't have to settle. Michael didn't. And the best part? His wife followed his lead without him ever asking her to. That's what happens when a man chooses to be the first one to change. Michael made a decision. He chose to take a step forward. And it began with one simple action: a conversation. That's where you can begin, too. With love, The Delight Your Marriage Team PS - Are you ready to take the next step in improving your marriage? We are here for you! Schedule a free Clarity Call and take the first step to transforming your marriage. PPS - Here is a quote from (another) recent graduate: "Our marriage was doomed to fail if we continued with the same unhealthy patterns that we had been using for years. This was a very hard process of self evaluation. My relationship with God was put at the top of my list for each day and I was able to start to feel connected to Him again and have loved being in the word. I also realized that I was taking myself and life way too seriously and have had to force myself to be more playful which has helped to keep the mood in our relationship more fun and light."
In this heartfelt conversation, Jordan Lee Dooley sits down with her friend Tara Sun to talk about the deeper cost of always doing “one more thing.” Drawing from Tara's new book, Overbooked and Overwhelmed, they explore the subtle signs of burnout, the physical toll of stress, and the invitation to slow down and reorder life with God at the center. What You'll Learn:The moment Tara realized her packed schedule was actually a spiritual red flagWhy Christians often overlook emotional and physical health in the name of “soul care”How hustle culture masks itself as faithfulness or obedienceWhat holistic, sustainable wellness really looks like for Christian womenHow to tell the difference between a full plate and an overwhelmed spiritSimple rhythms that help restore presence, peace, and purposeWant to dig deeper into this topic? #206 // Surrendering to the Love That Remains: Holding On While Letting Go After Child Loss If your child is no longer walking beside you, the word surrender can feel impossible. As grieving moms, our arms were never meant to be empty, and yet we face the heartbreaking reality of placing our children back into God's hands when He calls them home. In today's episode, we open Scripture to Hannah's story in 1 Samuel. She longed for a child, prayed with tears, and when God finally answered, she made a vow to give her son back to Him. Her story doesn't erase our grief, but it does show us what it means to lean on God when everything in us wants to hold on tight. Together we'll explore what trust means for Hannah—and what trust means for us as grieving mothers who had to surrender without choice. In this episode you'll hear:

What happens when a father loses contact with his children for three years? Garry Junkuhn discovered it can become the catalyst for profound transformation. After his relationship with a new partner led to complete estrangement from his sons, Garry chose an unconventional path. Instead of legal battles or blame, he embarked on a six-year nomadic journey of self-discovery. "What is the gift in this situation?" his mentor asked. That question changed everything. Through radical humility and personal growth, Garry not only reunited with his sons but built an even stronger relationship. His story offers hope to anyone facing relationship challenges: sometimes the way forward requires letting go of our story about what went wrong.Garry Junkuhn is a South African-born father and founder of 100k Fathers, dedicated to helping fathers reunite with their children through personal transformation rather than legal battles. After experiencing three years of complete separation from his two sons following a painful custody situation, Garry embarked on a six-year nomadic journey of self-discovery across South America. This transformative period led to not only reuniting with his sons but building stronger relationships than ever before. Today, Garry guides fathers worldwide through his counterintuitive approach that emphasizes personal growth, emotional resilience, and letting go of blame. His work focuses on preparing fathers for reunion through inner work rather than external force, helping them become the men their children need them to be.About The Show: The Life in Transition, hosted by Art Blanchford focuses on making the most of the changes we're given every week. Q: Do you have a book, sermon, or other resource to help Christians to maintain their faith as they go through chronic suffering? My daughter has a debilitating disease that she got in her early 20's and it has progressively got worse in 3+ years. She says she can't forgive God for not healing her and even if he healed her now she asks why he didn't heal her before. She's so angry with God she's giving up on a relationship with Him and ready to completely walk away from any faith. Please help. Summary In this episode, Dr. E offers wisdom to a father whose daughter is wrestling with debilitating illness, anger at God, and a fading faith. Dr. E shares that while he's never asked God “why,” he's often asked Him “how” — how to live well through pain, how to endure with grace, and how to resist bitterness. Drawing from his own chronic suffering journey, Dr. E unpacks the difference between entitlement and surrender, encouraging listeners to reframe suffering in light of God's sovereignty. He offers gentle but clear guidance: some “why” questions may never be answered this side of heaven, and continuing to ask them may only deepen bitterness. Instead, he urges us to ask “how” — how can I respond faithfully today? Recommended resources like A Place of Healing by Joni Eareckson Tada and How Long, O Lord? by D.A. Carson offer paths to healing and spiritual perspective. Ultimately, Dr. E reminds us that we can't carry others' faith, but we can lead, love, and trust that God is still writing the story — even in the pain. Takeaways Asking “how do I live?” leads to faithfulness; asking “why did this happen?” can lead to bitterness. Chronic suffering may never come with clear answers — but God offers sustaining grace. We cannot force someone else's faith, but we can lead them gently through love. Surrendering our sense of entitlement is key to enduring trials with spiritual maturity. There are some “why” questions in life that will never be answered — and that's okay. Delight Your Marriage | Relationship Advice, Christianity, & Sexual Intimacy
Abiding in God's Love by Living a Life of Surrender (Formerly Titled: Real Love Takes Sacrifice) We know the Bible says “God is love” (1 John 4:8) and that He loved us first. But if we're honest, many of us spend more time wondering, “Does God really love me?” than asking the deeper, more revealing question: “Do I truly love Him?” That's the heart of today's message. God's love for you is unshakable, unchanging, and eternal. The real question is whether your love for Him is genuine—and if it's showing up in your life the way true love always does: through sacrifice. When You Don't Feel God's Love Maybe you've been a Christian for years but can't remember the last time you felt God's love. You've read the verses. You've prayed the prayers. But it's like you're in a spiritual drought. The truth? Feelings aren't the measure of His love. But there's often a missing link when we feel disconnected from God—and it's not that He's holding back. It's that our love for Him hasn't moved from words to action. Abiding in God's Love Requires Sacrifice Jesus said plainly, “If you love Me, keep My commands” (John 14:15). Love isn't just warm feelings or goosebumps in worship—it's obedience. And obedience requires sacrifice. That sacrifice may look like: Giving up your comfort Laying down your need for control Surrendering your demand to understand everything before trusting Releasing opinions that don't align with His Word It's the same principle in marriage—love grows deeper when it's willing to lay self aside for the other's good. Our relationship with Jesus is no different. The Pearl of Great Price and God's Love In Matthew 13:45–46, Jesus tells of a merchant who sold all he had to buy one pearl of great value. That's what loving God looks like—letting go of everything else so you can fully hold onto Him. You don't get the pearl without selling all. You don't experience the fullness of God's love without the surrender that real love demands. Beyond the Honeymoon: Abiding in God's Love Daily Some of us have had that powerful, early experience with God—a “honeymoon” season where His presence felt constant and overwhelming. But just like in marriage, the relationship matures. The emotions may not always be intense, but the love grows deeper as it's proven through daily, intentional sacrifice. Surrender: The Path to Experiencing God's Love If you want a fresh revelation of God's love, start here: Ask Him to show you where He's calling you to surrender. Choose obedience in that area—even when it costs you. Trust Him with the outcome. Welcome to Elephants in the WOMB!Since Roe v. Wade in 1973, around 63 million legal abortions have been performed—equal to the population of the top 47 U.S. cities combined. In 2022, Roe was overturned, leaving legality to the states. Annual abortions have increased to about 1 million. The Church has often responded with either truth without love or compassion without conviction. But what about the heart and word of God?The Messy MiddleBalance comes by embracing two opposing truths at once—Jesus embodied the fulness of grace and truth. Grace offends the religious heart; truth offends the rebellious heart. We must hold:Abortion is a sinful, immoral act.Abortion is the world's solution to a difficult situation.Abortion is a sinful, immoral act.People are made in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). A fetus may be non-viable or unwanted, but it remains valuable.God knows us before we are born (Jeremiah 1:5). Purpose is assigned before birth; a fetus is not a "potential" human but a human with potential. The shedding of innocent blood is especially serious (Proverbs 6:16-17). Abortion sheds the blood of a developing human who has done no wrong. Why immoral? Government laws apply to all, not just Christians. Logic for legislation:Some abortions are immoral.Government has the right to restrict immoral acts.Laws should prevent immoral abortions.Common pro-abortion arguments reveal flaws when applied to other immoral acts (e.g., "If you don't like drunk driving, don't do it").Abortion is the world's solution to a difficult situation. The world does not think like the church (1 Corinthians 2:14). Most women seek abortion due to poverty or to preserve bodily autonomy—not from hatred for babies. These are wrong solutions to real problems. To change minds, the church must address the underlying needs. How can the church help pregnant women in difficult situations?Declare the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15). Thoughtless truth is childish.Make better solutions available (Ephesians 3:10). Work to make abortion unnecessary and unimaginable. Support local ministries like 1st Option Care.Honor pregnancy and care for single mothers (1 Peter 4:8). End the culture of shame. Encourage men to take responsibility.Provide healing for women who have had abortions (Matthew 11:28). About 24% of women will have an abortion by age 45. Offer confidential, restorative groups like "Surrendering the Secret."If you consider yourself pro-choice: Your compassion is commendable, but don't let mercy or distrust of government override Biblical morality. Love upholds truth. If you consider yourself pro-life: Don't let zeal for truth push people from Jesus. Loveless Christians lose their audience. Be an advocate for all, reflecting God's kingdom.Final Question: When it comes to abortion—and every other issue—are you willing to follow Jesus into the messy middle?
Crucifixion and Salvation Jesus was crucified between two male factors (criminals). One on the right and one on the left. Jesus was innocent, as declared by Pilate, but was crucified according to God's plan for salvation. One of the criminals recognized Jesus as the Son of God and asked for mercy. The other criminal continued to rail against Jesus. The criminal who asked for mercy was told by Jesus that he would be in paradise that day. The message is a call to examine one's relationship with Jesus and to seek salvation. To not be on the wrong side of Jesus at the time of death. Being on the Wrong Side of Jesus The message explores instances in the New Testament where people found themselves on the wrong side of Jesus. It is possible to be on the wrong side of Jesus, even after having been on the right side. Through sin and straying from God. Repentance and turning back to God are necessary to correct this. The Wrong Side of Mercy The story of Jesus healing a man with a withered hand in the temple is used as an example. The Pharisees and scribes were more concerned with trapping Jesus than with the man's suffering. Being on the wrong side of mercy means being unwilling to show compassion or see the needs of others. It leads to bitterness, hatred, and a lack of love. It is possible to turn from being on the wrong side of mercy and come to Christ. Those on the wrong side of mercy miss Christ and what their soul needs. Alienation and feeling outnumbered are signs of being on the wrong side of Christ. The Wrong Side of Grace The story of the woman caught in adultery is used as an example. Being on the wrong side of grace involves being guilty and condemned by sin. Jesus offered grace to the woman, despite her guilt. Conviction of sin is necessary to be set free by God. Those on the wrong side of grace may leave feeling convicted but unchanged. It is a conscious decision to remain on the wrong side of grace. In hell, there is no grace. Jesus did not condemn the woman but told her to go and sin no more. It is possible to be a great sinner and still find salvation through God's grace. The Wrong Side of the Word The story of the disciples in John chapter 6 is used as an example. Many disciples left Jesus because his words offended them. The Word of God will stand either for or against a person. It is better to embrace the Word, even when it is difficult to understand, than to run from it. Those on the wrong side of the Word will find themselves among the ungodly and wicked. It is impossible to be right with both the world and God. Jesus did not change his word to keep those who were leaving. The Word of God has the power to save, keep, and set free. Peter recognized that Jesus had the words of eternal life and that there was nowhere else to go. Exclusivity of Salvation There is only one way to God and to heaven: through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Being on the wrong side of Jesus leads to hell, a life without mercy, grace, and His Word. Surrendering one's life to God is necessary for salvation. The story of the thief on the cross illustrates how to get on the right side of Jesus. Believing that Jesus is the Son of God. Pastor Tommy's personal testimony is shared as an example of going from lost to saved in a short time. Being on the right side of Jesus brings peace and assurance of eternal life. Call to Action A call is made for those who are convicted to come forward and be saved. Repentance and belief in Jesus as the Son of God are necessary for salvation. Salvation brings inner change that leads to outward transformation. The things once loved are now hated, and the things once hated are now loved. Life on the wrong side of Jesus is filled with heartache and suffering. Hell is a place of torment and separation from God.

Eckhart addresses topics like surrendering the ego, what to do with anger and how to confront our fears. Eckhart says fear arises when we become drawn into negative thinking and project it into the future. He goes on to say that most of the time, fear has no basis in reality because when the future finally arrives, it's actually the present moment again. And in the present there is usually nothing to fear.
