This leads to a broader conversation about the autonomic nervous system and its connection to functional health, where they explore how mindset and emotional states can impact physical well-being. Joe shares insights from his experiences at a meditation retreat, emphasizing the importance of regulation and the challenges of managing stress and anxiety in today's fast-paced world. As the conversation progresses, Joe and Austin delve into the concept of neuroplasticity, discussing how our brains adapt to stress and the importance of acceptance in the healing process. They highlight the paradox of seeking to fix symptoms while inadvertently reinforcing them through anxiety and fear. The duo also touches on the significance of mindfulness practices, such as meditation and being present in daily activities, as tools for fostering resilience and emotional regulation. The episode concludes with practical advice for listeners on how to cultivate awareness and acceptance in their lives, ultimately leading to a healthier relationship with their bodies and minds.Takeaways"The poison is in the dose.""You can't fix everything, nor should you try to.""Thinking about something doesn't make it work better.""What you resist persists.""Surrendering to discomfort is key for neuroplasticity.""Mindfulness is about being with whatever is.""Acceptance is the foundation of healing.""Every time you resist a thought, you rewire your brain.""Stress can manifest in many ways, but it often stems from the same root.""Neuroplasticity takes time and patience."Chapters00:00 Introduction and Illness Reflections02:29 Exploring the Autonomic Nervous System05:52 The Role of Mindset in Health11:20 Contemplation and Identity Crises in Bodybuilding16:04 The Stress Cycle and Health Anxiety21:28 Neuroplasticity and Acceptance in Healing30:33 The Journey to Autonomy in Bodybuilding38:55 Evolving Needs and Personal Growth40:50 Neurological Resilience and Discomfort44:27 Mindfulness and Observing Thoughts49:10 Surrendering to the Present Moment53:34 Meditation as a Tool for Awareness01:01:05 Intentional Delayed Gratification and Neuroplasticity
In this deeply personal and hope-filled episode of the Choose to Think Inspirational Podcast, Victoria invites listeners into an honest conversation about self-control, grief, surrender, and the quiet exhaustion that comes from trying to do life in our own strength.Drawing from her own experiences—memories of her father, moments of self-pity, struggles with temptation, and the pressure of performance—Victoria explores what it truly means to be a vessel for God's love rather than the source of it. She unpacks how striving hardens the heart and exhausts the mind, while surrender opens the door to healing, restoration, and renewed joy.Blending Scripture, lived wisdom, and accessible brain science, this episode gently reframes failure—not as disqualification, but as a place where God's grace can flow most freely. Victoria reminds us that our worth is not earned through achievement, that brokenness does not cancel calling, and that humility and accountability are powerful pathways to emotional and spiritual healing. The episode closes with a heartfelt prayer and an invitation to step out of self-reliance and into the steady, sustaining presence of God.Self-control is a lifelong journey, not a finish lineGrief often surfaces through memories and emotional triggersSurrender interrupts self-pity and restores clarity and peaceAwareness of our thoughts is the first step toward renewalWe are vessels for God's love—not the source of itOur worth is rooted in who we are, not what we doFailure does not disqualify us; it can deepen our capacity to loveBrokenness can become part of our beauty and testimonyGod's grace is always available, even after serious mistakesHumility and accountability are essential for emotional healing00:00 – Introduction & Personal Reflections03:13 – Navigating Grief and Memories06:02 – Self-Pity and Spiritual Growth09:15 – The Struggle with Self-Control12:00 – Surrendering to God's Will14:38 – Being a Vessel for God's Love19:09 – Understanding Our Worth23:13 – Performance vs. Purpose26:00 – Embracing Failure and Grace28:55 – Closing Reflections and Prayer34:26 – Outro
The Shelby Clement Podcast is where real life meets real faith the unfiltered conversations, the uncomfortable growth, and the quiet moments of surrender that shape who we're becoming. In this episode, Shelby hands the mic to her best friend Emily for a deeply raw, unscripted conversation she didn't prepare for. What unfolds is an honest dialogue about releasing control, breaking free from people-pleasing, and stepping boldly into the season God is calling her into even when it feels scary, uncertain, or completely unfamiliar.Together, they explore themes of identity, fear, faith, authenticity, burnout, and self-trust. Shelby opens up about the pressure to be the “cool girl,” the exhaustion that comes from trying to meet everyone else's expectations, and the freedom that follows when you finally stop performing and start trusting God with every part of your life including your business, relationships, and purpose. This episode dives into what it really means to surrender: closing doors that once felt essential, allowing God to remove what no longer serves you, learning how to rest without guilt, and choosing obedience over control. Shelby reflects on returning to her true self, showing up as she was created, and finding confidence that isn't tied to numbers, validation, or approval. If you're in a season of transition…If you feel unseen, stuck, or unsure of your next step…If you're questioning your purpose or longing for deeper alignment with your faith…This conversation will meet you right where you are.You don't need to have everything figured out.You don't need to be perfect.Come as you are. Ever feel like your carefully crafted vision is actually boxing you in? Like the thing you built is ready to become something bigger, but you're not sure if you should let it?In this episode, I share the real story behind a major shift in this podcast—and why I almost resisted it. This isn't just about podcasting. It's about what happens when leaders cling to their original vision so tightly that they miss what's actually trying to emerge. It's about the uncomfortable moment when you realize your message is bigger than the audience you boxed yourself into. Here's the truth most leadership training won't tell you: the real work isn't managing tasks better. It's learning how to see people beyond their output and actually develop who they're becoming. That's the gap killing organizations from the inside out—leaders who can manage deliverables but have no clue how to cultivate human potential. You'll discover: ✅ Why your vision can become a trap (and how to know when it's time to surrender it) ✅ The critical difference between managing tasks and developing people✅ How organizations reduce talented people to their function—and what that costs everyone✅ What it actually means to cultivate leaders instead of just upskilling them ✅ The choice that determines whether you're a manager or a true leaderReady to close the gap between your skills and your highest impact? Many Americans are struggling with high prices, expensive housing, and recent job losses, leading to a significant car repossession crisis. People are finding it increasingly difficult to manage their car payments, contributing to widespread economic instability. This has resulted in a rise in voluntary car surrender, as individuals opt to give up their vehicles rather than face repossession, highlighting the immense financial stress many are experiencing.Grab a copy of my book: https://partsmanagerpro.gumroad.com/l/qtqaxBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-motor-files-podcast--4960744/support.

In this episode, Samuel Goulet explores the contrast between modern culture's focus on personal desire and the enduring biblical call to self-denial and obedience to God. He emphasizes that true Christian living is rooted in surrendering personal will to God's eternal ways, rather than shaping faith around individual preferences or consumerism. Drawing from scripture, Goulet discusses how identity, relationships, and even church practices should be defined by God's will, not self-fulfillment, and encourages listeners to apply these principles in marriage, family, and daily life. The episode concludes with a call to prayer, inviting the audience to consecrate their relationships and resources to God, seeking humility, grace, and a deeper walk of faith. [Document 4 | Word]

We're so glad you are here! Thanks for checking out Sunday's message!-- SUNDAY'S NOTES --Jesus is certainly the center of it all, but the question remains: are we living lives truly centered on Him?Oh, the depth of the riches and the wisdom and the knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments and untraceable his ways! For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor? And who has ever given to God, that he should be repaid? For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever. Amen. Romans 11:33-35 CSB The question isn't whether something is at the center of your life, but rather what or who that something is?For through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can't see, such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together. Colossians 1:16-17 NLTIn geometry, the center point is the fixed reference from which distance and balance are measured.Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Hebrews 13:8 NLTWe often unnecessarily wobble our way through life.Ahab summoned all the people of Israel and the prophets to Mount Carmel. Then Elijah stood in front of them and said, “How much longer will you waver, hobbling between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow him! But if Baal is God, then follow him!” But the people were completely silent. I Kings 18:20-21 NLTIn a world cursed by the uncertainty of fallen humanity, Jesus at the center offers peace and stabilityTo be clear, there is a serious element of surrender involved in being centered on Jesus.I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20 ESVMy old identity built on ego, pride, sin and selfishness has been put to death. Surrendering my life to Christ isn't self-destruction, it's Christ-centered transformation. When I'm centered on Jesus, my values, motives, strength, and direction come from Jesus. If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me. If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it. Luke 9:23-24 NLTPoem - Christ The Center BeI think the fall knocked the world off it's axisCausing a wobble in humanity's walkAnd for Geometry's truth become praxisComing right will take more than talkPresently, beneath a cloud of doubt and fright,Mortal thoughts in a fog of confusion and chaos roam,While a gravitational force with prophetic mightDraws wandering souls who've strayed far from home. And just like the planets, that obey a pull they cannot see,So to hearts find peace and stability, when Christ the center be.-------------------------------------------------Download the 828 Church app!To view our latest e-newsletter, the Midweek Momentum, and subscribe to our weekly updates, go here! https://linktr.ee/828church
What does it look like to pray when you're out of control? And what happens when desperation becomes the doorway to deeper trust? This week on The Cutting Room Floor, Neil sits down with Matt Williams to unpack what didn't make it into Sunday's sermon on desperation and prayer. From hospital rooms to unanswered prayers, they talk honestly about what it means to depend on God when control slips through your fingers. The conversation moves from the Garden of Gethsemane to everyday life, parenting, grief, career changes, and reframes prayer as relational, not transactional. It's a reminder that surrender isn't weakness; it's training for trust. The challenge: As you step into a new year, don't just ask what you want to add. Ask what God is inviting you to lay down. Where might surrender make room for deeper dependence? Hosts: Neil Gregory & Matt Williams What We Discuss Why desperation often reveals what we truly depend on Standalone sermons and the pressure of closing out the year Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane as our model for prayer Prayer as relational rather than transactional How honesty and tears can become prayers Parenting, prayer, and reflecting the heart of the Father What it means to pray "Your will be done" when outcomes hurt The difference between hope and expectation Surrendering good things to say yes to better ones ⸻ About Southland Christian Church Southland is one church meeting in multiple locations across central Kentucky. It's a brand new year! Are you feeling stuck and eager to make life changes this year, but not sure where to begin? In the very first episode of our newly branded and refreshed podcast, She's So Well (formerly Wonderfully Made), Allie Marie Smith shares wisdom and practical tips for radical life transformation. She shares seven life-changing keys as a blueprint for transformation, including surrender, releasing toxic habits and relationships, renewing your mindset, and creating a clear vision for the life God is calling you to live. Through personal reflection and practical wisdom, Allie reminds you that real change is possible not just this new year, but forever —and it starts from within. This episode is an invitation to make space for what truly nurtures your soul and step boldly into a life of purpose, joy, and freedom. God has good plans for you, and with His help, you have the power to change your life. ✨ Takeaways Changing our lives requires sacrifice, hard work, and determination. True transformation begins on a soul-deep level. Living a meaningful life is bigger than ourselves. We need to identify and pull the weeds in our lives. What if the universe has been leaving you breadcrumbs all along, and you've been too busy planning to notice them?Host, Dr. Katie Deming shares how she completely transformed her approach to life after her shared death experience and leaving Western medicine. Instead of forcing goals and pushing through obstacles, she now follows signs and synchronicities that appear in her daily life. She explains the difference between these two concepts and why paying attention to them opens up possibilities you could never plan for yourself. Through personal stories that range from broken laptops to missing keys, she shows how even frustrating moments might be protecting you from something you can't see yet.The heart of the conversation centers on a remarkable story involving a Rolex watch, a midnight intuition, and a dating app Dr. Katie swore she'd never use. What unfolded demonstrates how following seemingly illogical guidance can lead to connections and openings that feel almost magical. Today's episode is the final part of our Best Lessons of the Year series, and it's dedicated to the part of you that's exhausted trying to figure it all out… because some seasons don't come with clean answers (rude). In this episode, we talk about surrendering the outcome—not in a giving up kind of way, but in a coming back to life as it is kind of way. You'll hear a powerful perspective from Dr. Tasha Faruqui on living in the gray when even science doesn't have the answers. And then I'll walk you through practical "anchors for your energy"—small, doable supports you can return to when you're depleted, overwhelmed, or stuck living for "after." If you've been telling yourself, "Once things calm down, then I'll breathe," this is your gentle reminder: you don't have to wait for life to be fully resolved to feel a moment of peace. In this episode, we talk about: Why "after" can drive survival-mode What it means to surrender control without surrendering hope How uncertainty can drain your energy (and how to reclaim it) Choosing joy intentionally (without forcing toxic positivity) Anchors for your energy: small practices that stabilize you during turbulence Quotes to remember: "Some seasons don't come with clean answers." "Surrendering the outcome doesn't mean surrendering your hope." "Joy often doesn't arrive… it's something we pursue." "Burnout isn't a symptom of failure. It's a symptom of fatigue." Key takeaways: Surrender = reclaiming energy you were spending trying to control what you can't. Joy can be a practice, not a mood you wait for. Anchors create stability in turbulence—pick one kind thing and return to it. A "one-degree shift" today can change how you land later. Your gentle invitation for the week: Pick one anchor: a walk outside, a one-minute pause, water before coffee, a phone boundary, or one brave little no. Try it. Keep it kind. Let it count. In this episode, we end our journey at the Stable, the humble place where God chose for us to meet His Son. We reflect on the stable of our own hearts, how Jesus chooses to meet us in our own poverty now, and why His very presence brings healing. We also talk about how when we sit in our emptiness, release control, and surrender each part of our lives to God, He is able to work more powerfully in our lives. Finally, we ponder Mary's quiet and loving gaze upon the Christ Child and how we are invited to slow down and notice Jesus smiling back at us. Friends, we've deeply enjoyed journeying with you this year. As we take a break, please know you are in our prayers. We will see you on January 19th, 2026 when Season 18 begins! What are the scandalous places within me that I want to keep away from the Lord? How am I managing my own creativity rather than welcoming the Holy Spirit into my creativity? What beliefs am I carrying deeply about God? How does God want to heal these beliefs? Where am I afraid? How can I make space for Jesus and spend time with Him in this Christmas season? Discussion Questions: How are you tempted to sanitize the Mystery of the Incarnation in your own life? Where in my life do I need a new perspective? When have you experienced God coming to you in a way you weren't expecting Him to? How am I seeking control in this season? How can I surrender that control? What are the stables of my life that God is inviting me into deeper surrender? Quote to Ponder: "I am so glad Jesus was born in a stable, because my soul is so much like a stable. It's poor and in unsatisfactory condition - Yet, I believe that if Jesus can be born in a stable, maybe he can be born in me." (Dorothy Day) Scripture for Lectio: "In those days a decree went out from Emperor Augustus that all the world should be registered. This was the first registration and was taken while Quirinius was governor of Syria. All went to their own towns to be registered. Joseph also went from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to the city of David called Bethlehem, because he was descended from the house and family of David. He went to be registered with Mary, to whom he was engaged and who was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for her to deliver her child. And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in bands of cloth, and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn." (Luke 2:1-7) Sponsor - Fully Mediterranean: Our sponsor today is Fully Mediterranean, a company dedicated to helping people discover the Mediterranean diet and lifestyle, a way of eating and living that is both deeply nourishing and beautifully simple. Today's episode explores the surprising and transformative announcements that accompanied the Christmas season, focusing particularly on Mary's encounter with the angel Gabriel. How we can respond like Mary with surrender and faith, even when life challenges our understanding or comfort?Key Lessons: God's announcements can be surprising and may challenge us to trust Him even when we don't understand. Mary's story illustrates the personal cost of obedience, including surrendering one's reputation. True peace comes from a relationship with God, and we are called to be peacemakers in today's noisy world. We should make room for Jesus in our lives and schedules, especially during the busyness of the holiday season. Surrendering to God's will allows Him to transform our messes into powerful messages.Subscribe for weekly messages that will inspire your faith! In this episode, I sit down with Jessica Kriegel, a culture strategist, speaker, and former Chief Scientist of Workplace Culture at Culture Partners. Jessica has spent years studying what actually drives performance inside organizations, and she brings research backed clarity to a topic most leaders still struggle to operationalize. Together, we break down why culture is not a soft concept, but the single most powerful lever leaders have to drive results, including up to four times revenue growth when purpose, strategy, and culture are fully aligned. Jessica shares a practical framework for turning culture into a business system, not a poster on the wall. We unpack why most culture efforts fail, how beliefs shape behavior more than processes ever will, and what leaders must stop doing if they want real accountability. This conversation is grounded, actionable, and designed for leaders who want measurable outcomes, not motivational fluff. Key takeaways: Culture is how people think and act to get results, not a list of values or perks Companies with full alignment between purpose, strategy, and culture grow four times faster than those without it Clarity beats complexity when defining purpose and direction Beliefs drive behavior more than policies, processes, or procedures True accountability is a personal choice, not a blame mechanism Most organizations spend the majority of their time below the line in blame and excuses Recognition, storytelling, and feedback are the fastest ways to shape beliefs Surrendering control creates stronger commitment and better long term results Leaders cannot force alignment, but they can design experiences that invite it This episode is for CEOs, founders, executives, people leaders, and anyone responsible for driving performance through other people. If you are frustrated that your culture initiatives are not translating into results, or if you feel like you are managing compliance instead of commitment, this conversation will change how you lead. You will walk away with simple language, a clear framework, and specific actions you can apply immediately to build a culture that actually drives growth. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. There's a moment when the place you've dreamed about for years finally becomes the place you actually live—and everything you imagined begins to meet real life.In this episode, I share what it's truly like to move to Bali with a family, and the quiet disorientation that can come when a long-held dream becomes your everyday reality. This is The Energy to Heal, your resource for all things Splankna, the faith-based inner healing modality that will help you achieve emotional freedom. In this episode, Laura Milliken unpacks one of the most subtle but destructive belief systems in modern Christianity: the performance-based gospel. Laura explains how many believers unknowingly relate to God as employees instead of sons and daughters—striving, proving, and exhausting themselves in an attempt to earn intimacy that was already given. Through the lens of Splankna, identity work, and Scripture, she reveals how this mindset leads to emotional burnout, anxiety, shame, and spiritual disconnection. This episode invites listeners to confront false beliefs about grace, surrender self-sufficiency, and rediscover what it means to live from Christ instead of for Christ. Laura walks through how understanding your identity in Christ is foundational for emotional freedom, inner healing, and lasting transformation. If you've ever felt spiritually tired, pressured to "do more," or afraid you're not measuring up—this conversation is for you. ✨ Key Takeaways A performance-based gospel leads to spiritual burnout and emotional exhaustion Many Christians confuse spiritual disciplines with spiritual worth Grace is not permission—it is empowerment Emotional freedom begins with understanding your identity in Christ Your spiritual life was never meant to be fueled by effort, but by intimacy Surrendering to grace requires letting go of control and outcomes Sonship produces rest, confidence, and security—not anxiety Your identity in Christ is unchanging, even when your behavior fluctuates Living in grace exposes perfectionism and self-sufficiency The journey of learning grace is ongoing and deeply liberating
Welcome to our new season on the show! For my return listeners you might have noticed the break we took between our last season. I wanted to drop in with a solo episode and talk about why I took a short pause…which the title might say it all. So we are back at it, the show of course continues…we had a little pause in releasing episodes over the last months, as some really big things have been happening and well… I might as well come out and say it. I AM PREGNANT! It is such a blessing and I am overjoyed to share this news to you. Altho ugh this episode isn't just for that. I wanted this episode to be valuable and actually share how I got here. I mean some might think…well we know how you got here, but actually there is much more to it than that. So I'm going to get personal and share things that I feel can be helpful for anyone either on the journey of fertility and wanting to have a family or anyone that is struggling to conceive. First I must say, I have such compassion for those that have struggled, just through this process I have become utterly grateful and blessed for our journey and I'm aware for many it has been a struggle and emotional rollercoaster. So my hope is that by what I share today it can provide some hope, confidence and the knowledge of the steps you can take to possibly help your outcome. In this episode I discuss: Becoming pregnant and how I got here What I did to prepare my body The exact supplements I took The lifestyle changes I made Surrendering to God in this journey Timeline to prepare For full show notes and episode resources head to: https://ericalippy.com/im-pregnant-at-45/ Watch episode on YouTube Episode mentions: Download full 'Holistic guide to preparing for pregnancy' HERE Download 'My Intentional Year' HERE Erica Lippy | Website Follow me on Social Media: Listen on YouTube Your Host: @ericalippy Podcast: @passionlovepursuit PASSION LOVE PURSUIT PODCASTS: https://ericalippy.com/the-podcast/

We discuss the fascinating stories of scandalous figures like Rahab and Tamar, who are included in Jesus' lineage, and what this reveals about God's grace and mercy. The episode emphasizes that Jesus does not shy away from dysfunction; instead, He embraces it, showing that everyone, regardless of their past, is a candidate for His love and redemption. As we reflect on our own labels and the burdens we carry, we encourage listeners to consider what labels they have accepted and how they can begin to surrender them to experience the freedom that comes from a relationship with Jesus. Key Topics: -The reliability of the Gospels -The criterion of embarrassment -The significance of Jesus' genealogy -Embracing dysfunction and grace -Surrendering labels and finding freedom ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ We are an alternative to church as usual. As we navigate the often overwhelming demands of daily life, particularly during pressure-filled seasons, I emphasize the importance of transitioning from a state of panic to one of presence and acceptance. This meditation serves as an invitation to slow down, embrace the stillness, and return to our natural state of calm.I begin by encouraging you to create a quiet space where you can comfortably situate yourself, whether that be sitting, lying down, or cocooned in your favorite blanket. It's essential to allow your body to feel supported and to grant yourself the permission to disengage from the burdens of your day. As we settle in, I emphasize the first steps of the practice—taking deep, conscious breaths, and noticing the weight of your body in its current state. Each breath serves as a reminder that it is perfectly okay to simply be, without the incessant need to do or achieve.Throughout the meditation, I guide you to release the tension often held in our bodies by inviting you to visualize letting go of tight grips and pressures. As we explore the concept of surrendering, I introduce the metaphor of holding a rope tightly, symbolizing the strain of managing our stressors. By loosening our grip, we create space for tranquility and self-acceptance. I encourage you to bring to mind an aspect of your life that feels heavy or stressful, emphasizing that this practice is not about fixing or solving problems, but rather about acknowledging and softening around them without resistance.#anxiety #mentalhealth #meditation #mindfulness #selfcare #stress #wellness #calm #healing #breathwork #relax #peace #yoga #mentalhealthmatters #anxietyrelief #guidedmeditation #anxietycoachespodcast #ginaryan #panicattackrelief #nervoussystemregulation #surrender #acceptance #justbe #holidaystress #overwhelm #mindfulmoments #stressrelief #mentalwellness #meditationpractice #grounding #emotionalhealth #anxietysupport #slowdown #presentmoment #ACPSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
