Nicholas talks to listeners about his career background, and the many courses he had to take before he figured out that what he needed was not another course but a different point of view on goal setting. “If you tell yourself you don’t have enough time, you are right. If you tell yourself you will find the time, you are right. Time responds to your expectations.” —  Whitney Freya Meet Whitney Freya. Whitney Freya is an expert in Inspired Living, providing practical tools & practices that free your mind from limitations and scarcity to create more in your life that lights you up from the inside out. Since 1996, when she dared to open an art center with ZERO art background, she has been committed to creating her own most inspired life & then helping others to do the same. She is a mom of 3 and author of Rise Above. In May, I asked Whitney to dish out her best tricks for reconnecting with our creativity in a  90-day season. Whitney tips are fun and doable. I asked her here because her work has deeply impacted my life — as has the habit of daily creativity. Today Whitney gives us three time-bending tricks that you won’t want to miss. All three of them seem particularly useful now with our full schedules of homeschooling, working, managing a full house, and possibly feeling like there is not enough time. Make sure to sign up for the Art of 90 Days, learn more from Whitney, and see how a focus on  creativity might be just what you need to get “unstuck.” I spent a day painting with Whitney five years ago, and it is a day that I still think about today.  I am hosting a really exciting experience in May called the Art of 90 Days. The idea behind this event is that moms have big goals that can get lost in the ups and downs of a year, so why not focus on a season. We are going to look at why 90 days is a great time frame to work on a goal and speak with 30+ experts to unpack how to create and reach a goal in their area of expertise.  We will be looking at the topics that come up the most for women going through the flow planning process - we will be looking at food and wellness goals, lifestyle goals, soul goals, and work goals - as I believe you need one of each to feel whole. You can go grab your free ticket at plansimple.com/90days. If you have ever been to one of our virtual experiences before you will LOVE this!  Here are some of the things you can expect: The information you need to make big changes in a 90-day period 30+ experts who each share their 90-day strategies on topics that include: sleep, food, exercise, decluttering, parenting, mindfulness, relationships, money, and entrepreneurship Beautiful planning sheets, so you can make the information yours Time to connect with speakers and attendees Meal plans so you feel great while you learn Movement and meditation between talks to help you integrate what you learn Innovative solutions so you can show up if kids are still out of school We are currently looking at the best way to present this experience to you. Originally, it was 4 Fridays while the kids were at school. I am not sure that will be happening, so we are coming up with the best way you can benefit from this info, with kids home.  This will be coming out at a time when we will all be excited to come out of the “Coronavirus season” and make some revised 2020 goals that we can pull off in just 90 days. Whitney Moore is witty, creative, smart, and an overachiever. She is someone who strives to be the best, but struggles with perfectionism. Whitney believes that her overachievement mentality is a direct result of experiencing significant trauma. As a child she was severely neglected enduring years of emotional and physical abuse from her stepfather. After Whitney turned 18, she went on to attend Virginia Tech in hopes to start a new life away from her family. Unfortunately, she was present on the day of the 2007 mass shooting. From the distress of the shooting Whitney felt even more internal pressure to perform, perfect, and overachieve. As Whitney grew older, she realized that her intuition and instinctual ability became stronger, specifically when meeting new people. Whitney believes that from her trauma she can sense integrity and manipulation quickly. Today Whitney is learning how to to heal, forgive, and live a life where she doesn't have to prove herself to the world in order to receive love.

We need to feel like we belong before we can extend an invitation to others. That’s what today’s guest at the Turquoise Table, Whitney Bell, reminded Kristin a few Sundays ago as Whitney gave a sermon at Kristin’s church. Whitney is the middle school ministry director at Kristin’s church in Austin, and she’s guided not only Kristin’s four kids, but scores of middle schoolers in her tenure. And whether you’re in the trenches with teens or looking for more inspiration on how to love deep, you’ll drink deeply from Whitney’s advice. Today Whitney and Kristin talk about practical and creative ways to connect with your teen, even when they shy away from deep conversations, and why it’s important for kids to have trusted adults in their lives in addition to their parents. Kristin and Whitney share insight not only for those of us with teens, but wisdom we can all take away about the power of connection: sometimes the best way to love someone is to sit with them and be, accepting them just as they are. And be sure to stay till the end for a delicious snack recipe that that’ll make your house smell like heaven and become a fall favorite.
