For many of us accustomed to the standard American way of food preservation, fermentation can be a strange topic to broach. Although it's a subject I've discussed before on this podcast, given the focus of this season I thought it'd be great to bring in a true expert. Today we're joined by my good friend, author and fermentation guru Wardee Harmon. In this episode we cover why fermentation is best for preserving nutrients, the benefits of probiotics, what to use for starter cultures, how to prevent cross-contamination, how to differentiate foam from mold, and much, much more. Wardee literally wrote the book on fermenting so you'll want to bring a pen and notebook to today's podcast. Be sure to listen to this episode all the way through as Wardee offers some incredible resources at the end.Ready to dive deeper into the world of fermentation? I'm answering it today, including giving you a bird's eye view of what each diet entails -- both the similarities and differences -- so you can choose the right path for you. In my book I talk about how you have a big bargaining chip with land owners when you have something to offer... like let's say when you raise sheep. For example, if the dollar decays you'll always have something to trade for room and board, because the sheep offers use value in its wool. Other livestock offer lots of use value, too. Today's Cash Flow Diary podcast guest Wardee Harmon puts a real-world spin on this notion. This author, educator and organically grown entrepreneur shares about her journey into raising livestock and how her organic garden grows. She tells us why she got into it, keeps doing it and why we might just want to do the same. Wardee also tells us what you should consider before putting food in your mouth that you purchased at the grocery store. As you listen you will understand what all of this has to do with Real Estate Investing and entrepreneurial lessons. There are plenty. Wardee show us that there are lots of clever and profitable ways to use Real Estate while solving problems along the way. This is a little different type of Cash Flow Diary podcast episode. Sit back. Relax. It might just change your mindset around the foods we all consume.
I can't tell you how excited I was to be able to interview Wardeh "Wardee" Harmon from GNOWFGLINS! Yes, it's a funny name, but it is a wealth of information. I remember about 3-4 years ago making my way through these natural health related websites and I stumbled across GNOWFGLINS. My first thought was "how can a site with such a silly name be informative?". But I liked what the acronym meant: God's Natural Organic Foods Grown Locally In Season. So I read on... My perception changed in a matter of minutes. And since that day, GNOWFGLINS has been a "go-to" resource for me. There are only a handful of websites that I trust for information and this is one of them. So to be able to interview Wardeh was an absolute thrill for me. And you know how it goes. These people that you look up to and respect so much can be a bit intimidating - at least in your own head. But after having the chance to talk with her, I found her to be so thoughtful, caring, and down-to-earth despite all of her success. After listening to this interview, head over to GNOWFGLINS and sign up for a membership. You will NOT be disappointed. At the very least, sign up for her FREE membership. You can find out more about Wardee Harmon at GNOWFGLINS.com. Be sure to head over to www.ReThinkTrueHealth.com and sign up for your free eBook and free monthly newsletter.
