Financial literacy is something we all need but for many women around the world, it's not a priority or wasn't an educational opportunity. Modern role models aside, women have typically relied on their spouses to take care of the finances white they take care of the kids. It's not something they've needed to know in many cases, until suddenly they do. And then it's a desperate process to learn quickly and likely to make some mistakes. Rosalia Gitau is one of those women. She became an orphan at age 14 when her mother died of cancer and had to figure out how to become financially secure. But her mother made one critical investment decision before she died that transformed the lives of her loved ones. You'll hear about that investment decision in this interview, what that taught Rosalia, and what she's doing to help educate other women around the world about financial security. Rosalia is the winner of this year's Money Awareness and Inclusion Awards. MAIA is an organization dedicated to the problem of weak financial literacy around the world and finding the best solutions to help people make better choices. Rosalia is also the founder and CEO of Bixie which is an app that helps people increase their financial literacy. You can find out more at her website, https://www.mybixie.com. Women today are increasingly taking the lead when it comes to their financial decisions. But in spite of that, are there still factors that affect women's wealth compared to men's - pay discrepancy, career breaks, longer life expectancy, etc. - that result in women having less, and not meeting their financial goals? What are women looking for when it comes to investing and managing their wealth for the long-term, not just for themselves, but for their loved ones too? We discuss this and more with Ahmad Shareza Bin Abdul Rahman, the Head of Islamic Wealth Management & Business Development at Maybank Islamic, and Siti Nita Zuhra Binti Mohd Nazri, Chief Bancassurance Officer at Etiqa, about what women want and need when it comes to managing their wealth. Both guests also discuss the philosophies behind Islamic Wealth Management, and how its focus on wealth purification and wealth distribution appeals to not just women, but all those looking for a socially-conscious and sustainable way to manage their wealth.

Welcome to Women, Wealth, & Web3, your real-talk podcast for investing in Web3, where critical thinking meets crypto with a feminine lens, presented by Eve Wealth DAO. Each episode, we cover topics that will help you learn how you can build your wealth, help close the investing gap, and discuss finance relatable to women. We want to demystify and bring awareness to historically male-dominated spaces. Let's normalize the conversation about wealth creation and investing, focusing on cryptocurrency, NFTs, Web3, DeFi, and DAOs. Why should you care? Should you invest in crypto? What is the metaverse? How are people spending their cryptocurrency? I'm your host Patty Kan, and I'll be your guide as we sit down to answer those questions and more with the experts. We'll also share a behind-the-scenes insider take on what it's like to build a wealth DAO. You don't need to know anything to join us - I certainly don't - but I know who to ask. Let's redefine what wealth means and who gets to build it. About Eve Wealth At Eve Wealth, we have no incentive other than creating a community that will serve under-represented people and sharing information about this crazy crypto domain. We're a global community of women who share portfolios and support each other through peer-to-peer learning.
