Next up will be Articles and Interviews I want to share with you. TDF.org has an interview with Austin Pendleton "Meet the Hardest Working Man in New York Theatre." In this week's program I get to share with you what I did last weekend and sneak peak, it has to do with Shakespeare x 2. In the news, three theaters announced their 2018-2019 seasons, Centenary Stage Co. in NJ, Riverside Theatre in Iowa City and Second Stage Theatre in NYC. No comings and goings in Who's In and Who's Out again this week. In the segment Articles & Interviews, TheatreMania has the announcement that Christian Borle will be directing this fall in NYC. American Theatre Magazine online has a great article about the trials & victories for costume designers working on outdoor shakespeare productions. Finally, an interview with Dina Janis, the artistic director of the summer theatre, Dorset Theatre Festival on TheIntervalNY.com. My very special segment Something I Had To Share With You is all about Playbill.com's list of 17 regional theatres every theatre lover (and theatre artist) should know.

Welcome to my very first podcast.  Treading the Boards is a book I've published for 20 years. It gives information for over 400 regional equity theatres around the US so theatre artists can get work. Between publication dates, a weekly email goes out with news, articles, interviews and sometimes Something I Had To Share With You because I'm so excited about it. The reason for the email is to keep you, the theatre artist, well-informed. It seemed like a natural transition to creating this podcast which supplements the email and the book. In this first episode, I'll give you some back story about how I got here but first the news. In Season Announcements, Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati in Ohio, MetroStage in Virginia, The Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse with the Atlanta Shakespeare Company based in Georgia and PICT Classic Theatre in Pittsburgh all announce their 2018-2019 seasons. The next segment is Who's In and Who's Out which will focus on Artistic & Executive leaders coming in & going out. No movers & shakers this week though. Next up is Articles & Interviews which are things I've read or listened to that I think they are relevant and interesting. There's a Q&A with Laura Leffler, AD of Umbrella Collective & associate AD for Park Square Theatre, on MinnesotaPlaylist.com. Playbill.com's Stage Directions Interview with director Darko Tresnjak and on PBS.org Christiane Amanpour interviews Sir Ian McKellen.

Pat & Chris are back to recap the US-Mexico match, Julian Green's debut, Omar Gonzalez's Woes, and "Who's In, Who's Out?". Next the guys talk about who they would take; Omar Gonzalez or Clarence Goodson, Eddie Johnson vs Chris Wondolowski, Julian Green or Brek Shea or Brad Davis. Then they tackle the current Best XI before turning their focus to MLS: Bradley & TFC, Dempsey & Seattle, and Player Salaries. The 2016 Copa America is coming to the US, and Pat is very happy about the FIFA World Cup game coming out within the next week.
