Happy Friday! Today we started things out high on basketball, despite it being the USA's first match in the World Cup tonight (more on that later). A carjacker made a rather odd pitstop in the middle of his crime spree, some poor Granny went to TikTok to complain about being kicked out of her nursing home for partying, and we learned about the infamous soccer announcer Andres Cantor and how he gears up for his legendary goal calls. John Cleese takes a swipe at us Yanks when it comes to soccer, and we all fessed up to who our "hall pass" is! See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Drury kicks off the show with Guelph Storm defender and Tampa Bay Lightning prospect Grant Spada, who has launched a new paediatric cancer initiative called Spada Strong.Following that, Clarkey joins alongside Mad-Sports.com's Mike Damergis to discuss the Yankees Jays series, where the Yanks are at with the Judge injury, and where both teams need to see improvements. The guys end off with the ongoing story surrounding the Oilers pursuit of Mike Babcock, which has raised some sharp criticism from many corners of the hockey world. You can find out more about Spada Strong and donate here: https://chl.ca/ohl-storm/article/grant-spada-and-the-guelph-storm-announce-the-launch-of-spada-strong/We are looking for new sponsors! Today's show stuck to the topic: Knicks-Spurs, Game 4. We talked about what went wrong for the team the last game and heard from players, coaches and fans about how they feel going into tonight and beyond. We also talked about the violence after Game 3. Everyone decent decried it as they should. People honestly don't need to act like that. Not here. Not to gloss it over, but the Yanks won again with Jazz homering using Judge's bat and Spencer Jones knocking his first MLB home run. Sadly, the Mets lost. All that and some laughs and it's a show.
Josh Hart with some thoughts. Dylan Harper talked about shooting threes. Stephon Castle said he expects to win tonight, in fact, the next three. The Yankees beat the Guardians as Jazz had the game winning HR and Spencer Jones hit his first MLB homer. The Moment of The Day: Gio's impression of Jeff Pearlman on TikTok.
Jerry first update has KAT talking about the Spurs setting the tone. The Yankees beat the Guardians as Jazz homered again with Judge's bat. Spencer Jones hit his first MLB HR. The Cardinals shutout the Mets, 7-0. Plus, Braden Montgomery of the White Sox hit a walk-off HR in his MLB debut with Bob Costas on the call.
The Yankees rallied in the eighth inning against Boston for a big win on Sunday, pulling them into a tie with the Rays for first place in the division. Chris breaks down the short series against the Red Sox, but starts with the latest news on Aaron Judge and when his ribs injury likely occurred. C-Mac pushes back on the narrative that the recent Judge revelations highlight an issue with how the Yanks handle injuries (2:10). He then reacts to the series split with the Red Sox (10:11), Trent Grisham's continued improvement, Cody Bellinger proving he was the right choice over Kyle Tucker this offseason, and if Ryan Weathers is showing signs of fatigue. Plus, why Anthony Volpe can no longer be the team's starting shortstop (21:00).
With MLS on a break for the Men's World Cup, Andrew chats with Mark Franek, author of American Soccer Nation: The Remarkable 150-Year History of Yanks on a Roll, from Mob Football to the Modern Game to talk about why he wrote a history of U.S. men's soccer, how the 1994 World Cup helped usher in the league, being an MLS Liker and why you should know the names Bethlehem Steel and Archie Stark. On this episode of No Credentials Required, Ryan and Dustin react to an unforgettable Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final and discuss how the series may have changed moving forward. The guys also examine the latest chapter in the Yankees-Red Sox rivalry after the two clubs split their weekend series following a rainout in New York. Which team should feel better about where they stand as the season moves into summer? Finally, they dive into one of the most intriguing NFL stories of the year: the possibility of the Chicago Bears moving across state lines to Hammond, Indiana. What would such a move mean for the franchise, its fans, and the future of professional sports stadium development? All that and more on No Credentials Required. Today's episode is a special one with the FIFA World Cup starting soon! Our guest today is David Chimbaza, a British sports professional and big association football (or what we Yanks call soccer) fan. We talk about the World Cup and the differences between English football and American sports. (David is a Manchester United fan, but we won't hold it against him.)
The Yankees split a rain shortened series with Boston after news broke late Thursday evening that Aaron Judge would be out approximately two months with a stress fracture in his rib. Also, with Anthony Volpe in the midst of another one of his trademark slumps, will he be the odd man out when Jasson Dominguez comes off the IL?

Jerry starts with Josh Hart talking about keeping up the intensity for game 2. What is OG Anunoby's first name? Jalen Brunson was asked about getting into it with a fan. KAT prays for the NYPD if the Knicks win it all (in a joking way). The Yankees beat the Guardians as Ryan McMahon had the winning hit. Ben Johnson was pissed when a reporter's phone went off during a press conference. Micah Parsons told Jay Mohr he has a foot fetish if it's on a good woman.

Chris McMonigle sounds off on the criticism surrounding how the Yankees have handled Aaron Judge's mysterious injury and the lack of updates in the days following his absence (3:25). Plus, he ponders what an extended Judge absence would mean for the Yanks (19:00) before the news breaks while recording the episode that Judge has been diagnosed with a stress fracture in his first right rib and will undergo further imaging in 4-6 weeks (31:45). C-Mac reacts to the breaking news and looks at the big picture in regards to how long Judge will realistically be out for, what it means for the Yankee season, and how it could impact their approach at the trade deadline.

Jerry returns with the sounds of Jalen Brunson hitting a big bucket late. Mike Brown liked the pace they played down the stretch. A moron fan ran on the floor to take a selfie with Wemby and he was asked about it after the game. The Yankees lost to the Guardians as Gerrit Cole did not pitch great and talked about it after the game. The Mets beat the Mariners as they pulled off a double steal.

Jerry's got Mike Brown on the season and how it got them here. Cam Schlittler contributes to Yanks loss. Mets errors doom them. AJ Brown talks about going to the Pats. Plus, the Moment of the Day - A lesbian roommate with something named after Boomer Esiason.
Jerry brings us some Knicks/Spurs preview sound but no update on Mitchell Robinson. Schlittler gives up runs in a Yanks loss. Mets errors doom them.
DC Comics still doesn't get it. Pride Month is over, and the sooner they learn that, the better. A reporter for GB News (Britain's News Channel) tried to talk to the protestors outside of the Delaney Hall ICE facility and got a hefty dose of what we Yanks call "fatigue." The body cam footage in the murder of Henry Nowak, a British man stabbed to death by our greatest strength, has been released. Nowak died after he was stabbed multiple times and, instead of the police helping him, they put him in cuffs because racism or something. We'll see if the body cam footage sheds any new light on the subject. Poland and France. Unchecked illegal immigration and Islamification or tradition and closed borders. Which way? It hit me like a load of bricks. I love watching Trump's cabinet meetings and then heard someone else say the absolute best use of these events would be to make sure children in schools watch them to understand government and civics. Count me in. ICE "protests" get chippy in New Jersey as Dems have started their summer plan to invoke some violence in hopes of influencing elections in their favor this fall. Dr. Jill will be on CBS Sunday Morning this week and she finally says some partial truth as we all though Joe Biden had a medical episode in that disastrous debate performance against Trump. Friends star Mathew Perry had a live in assistant and that man was sentenced to 41 months in jail this week. Wait until you hear the details and what the family is saying about somebody they thought was their friend. The Yankees just flat out OWN the Royals... what a disaster this baseball season is. KU tickets were not really on sale yesterday for the NCAA baseball regional and this is getting wild. The Washington Nationals exec caught on tape is now on leave. Trump is headed to the NBA Finals and the Chargers quarterback skips OTA's to be with his girlfriend.
Jerry starts with SGA talking about tonight's game in San Antonio. Adam Silver was on with Pat McAfee and they talked about flopping. The Yankees shutout the Royals and Gerrit Cole pitched well again. The Mets actually won a game and Juan Soto homered again. The Moment of The Day: Boomer pins Al against the wall & won't let him leave the studio.
Reports came out this morning that Jaxson Dart addressed the team and other leaders spoke about him introducing Trump. Jerry returns for an update starting with SGA talking about tonight's game in San Antonio, followed by Adam Silver discussing flopping with Pat McAfee. The Yankees shutout the Royals as Gerrit Cole pitched well again, the Mets actually won a game as Juan Soto homered again, and the Moment of the Day features Boomer pinning Al against the wall and not letting him leave the studio. Finally, a police officer pulls a woman over for having her phone in a right hand she doesn't actually have, and Gio talks about ticks on Long Island spreading disease.
Welcome back to the Sorry to Interrupt podcast! Sean is back for another Yankees series recap pod as he gives his reaction to the Bombers' sweep of the Royals in KC. Sean gives his biggest takeaways including Gerrit Cole looking to be in vintage form, the bats getting hot, Volpe's strong play and what to make of the Infield alignment. Finally, Sean wraps up by addressing some recent trade rumors and gives some names to look for over the next few months. Everyone enjoy the pod!
The Yankees are back on track and gaining in the AL East after a sweep of the Royals while the Rays were swept in Baltimore. Chris McMonigle says the dynamic in the division has drastically changed in a matter of days. He also raved about Gerrit Cole's dominant performance, and how it is the best version of Cole he has seen in his Yankee tenure (7:45). Plus, Cole's return reinforces that there is no way the Yanks are trading for Tarik Skubal (15:15). Chris also sounds off on the continued complaints about the Yankee bullpen (29:30), why Anthony Volpe has earned more time as the starting shortstop (38:00), and why Austin Wells needs to be benched against lefty starters (54:50).
Cole is back. For the Yanks, it means so much. The Yankees are starting to feel like themselves again, and it's not just the standings. A three-game sweep of the Royals brings three totally different wins: a comeback capped by a 2 run 9th, a blowout where the bats finally unload, and a clean, pitcher-driven win that reminds you what this team can look like when it's right.I dig into the biggest reason the vibe has shifted: Gerrit Cole is back on the mound and pitching with real authority. After the fear that comes with major arm surgery and a late start to the year, there's a quiet relief that hits when your ace takes the ball and the game immediately feels manageable. I also zoom out to the rotation as a whole, from Cam Schlittler looking like a rising star to Ryan Weathers forcing a serious conversation about who stays in the starting five when arms return, plus the watch list items for Rodón and what “good enough” needs to look like. Then I hit the position-player picture: Ben Rice's approach, Goldschmidt's steady pro at-bats, and why Cody Bellinger's defense is the kind that literally steals runs. But I don't dodge the stuff that can sink a contender either: third base issues, the shortstop playing-time debate, Grisham's production, the Yankees' constant small ball failures, injury worries with Stanton and Fried, and a woeful bullpen we still don't trust. If you're looking for grounded Yankees analysis with fan-level honesty, press play, then subscribe, share the show, and leave a quick review. Jerry is here with the sounds of OKC beating the Spurs to go up 3-2 in the series. Shaq was on the Rich Eisen show and said he was wrong about the Knicks. Becky Hammon said the two best teams are in the west but she's up to being proven wrong. The Yankees destroyed the Royals, 15-1. The Mets lost again and only scored 2 runs. Packer Josh Jacob has been accused of domestic abuse among other things.
Jerry's got OKC taking a 3-2 series lead over the Spurs. The Yankees beating the Royals 15-1. The Mets losing to the Reds again. Plus, Brewers pitcher Abner Uribe did the D-Generation X crotch thrust. Brewers Manager Pat Murphy called it ‘unacceptable'.
The Yankees beat the Royals 15-1, racking up 24 hits. The Mets lost to the Reds again. Ron Darling was very critical of David Peterson for not backing up home plate and said coaches don't have enough influence on the players as they should have.
We kick off with Becky Hammon's Jalen Brunson comments, the Knicks' future, OKC's series lead, a 15-1 Yankees blowout, and a tough Mets loss. Next, Boomer addresses the Abdul Carter and Jaxson Dart viral drama, followed by social media algorithm talk, an "unacceptable" Brewers crotch thrust, and Ray J's podcast appearance. Then, Boomer reviews the movie Pressure, Gio discovers a "Primal Viking" supplement, Ron Darling critiques the Mets, and Wembanyama "lays an egg." We wrap up with Greg Olsen winning an Emmy, John Harbaugh brushing off locker room fodder, Jerry singing Bob Dylan, a positive Mets fan calling in, and Hank farting on Pardon My Take.
The Yankees beat the Royals in KC and are 10 games over .500. The Mets lost again, even with Nolan McLean on the mound. He gave up 7 runs. Carlos Mendoza was asked what's going on with McLean. Plus, some NHL from Jerry.
Jerry starts with the sounds of Mike Breen as the game comes to an end to send the Knicks to the NBA finals. Jalen Brunson was awarded the MVP trophy for the series. Also, Anthony Volpe had a 2-run single that ended up winning the game for the Yankees. The Mets lost their fourth straight game, this time to the Reds.
