It was a beautiful weekend in the area except for where the baseball teams are concerned. The Yankees were swept by the Marlins and Gio says this is the most pressure Aaron Boone has faced as the manager.
A caller is fed up with the Yankees but Boomer defends Brian Cashman. Gio doesn't think screaming about the past helps at all. Boomer says Aaron Boone is in a tough spot because he can't change his tune entirely but also needs to get his players to perform better.
a woman tells us she made her husband take her last name. Then, callers want something to change with the Yankees. Boomer thinks the Yankees are handling things differently behind-the-scenes than they do in front of media and fans.
Jerry tries to add some positivity to the baseball discussion. It's difficult after the weekend the Yankees had. A-Rod and Jeter had harsh criticism for the Yankees, the constant mistakes they make and the lack of accountability. The Mets weren't much better this weekend. Boomer wants Frankie Montas moved to the bullpen. Micah Parsons requested a trade, Jerry Jones responded, then Dez Bryant and Nicki Minaj got involved.
Aaron Glenn's emotional reaction to becoming Jets' head coach split Boomer and Gio, who debated whether it was a positive deviation from Bill Parcells' stoicism. The Yankees' struggles led to criticism from A-Rod and Jeter, with Gio believing Aaron Boone would only be fired if they miss the playoffs. The Mets also had a poor weekend, and Boomer suggested moving Frankie Montas to the bullpen. A trade request from Micah Parsons escalated into a dispute involving Jerry Jones, Dez Bryant, and Nicki Minaj, which a caller later explained to Gio. Gio also expressed concern about his wife's disapproval of his frequent golfing.
Gio and Boomer won't go to Streamsong in September. A caller is fed up with the Yankees but Boomer defends Brian Cashman. Gio doesn't think screaming about the past helps. Boomer says Aaron Boone is in a tough spot. Boomer tries to make Gio look bad but Gio turns that right back on him. We discuss wedding invitations and real vs fake photos. Peter Schwartz put WWE SummerSlam results in his updates. The Yankees and Mets stink. The woman whose wedding invitation we read calls in. We discuss last names after marriage. A woman tells us she made her husband take her last name. Callers want something to change with the Yankees. Boomer thinks the Yankees are handling things differently behind-the-scenes.
The Yankees were swept by the Marlins, leading Gio to say Aaron Boone is facing the most pressure as manager. Boomer believes players should be held accountable for mistakes. Both agree mistakes aren't Boone's fault, but understand fan frustration. Yankees fans are unhappy with Boone. Jerry's update covers Yankee lowlights and Jazz Chisholm Jr.'s baserunning blunder. The Mets lost to the Giants. Boomer thinks Jerry Jones shouldn't discuss player contracts after Micah Parsons requested a trade. The hour ends with a Cameron Young anecdote and a Marlins fan thanking the Yankees.

This week's Yankees highlights include Boomer calling on the Yankees to bench Anthony Volpe to give him a rest, while BT and Sal get into a heated debate over how to handle the young shortstop after Sal called for the Yanks to send him down. Plus, BT and Sal wonder what the expectations are for Jasson Dominguez moving forward, while Evan and Tiki wonder if Aaron Boone is growing frustrated with Volpe's defense.

Boomer and Gio discuss Aaron Rodgers, the Jets' Madden ratings, and a golf tournament win. Jerry grades the Yankees' and Mets' trade deadline moves. The Yankees won their third straight. Mikal Bridges extended with the Knicks. Joe Schoen addresses Giants roster flaws. The Moment of the Day: Gio reenacts a BT and Sal argument. In the final segment, Gio foresees a Yankees-Astros postseason collision, while Boomer believes bullpen additions suffice. Bullpens are increasingly vital in modern baseball. The Giants became sellers and will play the Mets.
Jerry recaps all of the moves from what ended up being a crazy trade deadline. There were over 50 trades made in less than two days and more than 100 players moved. The Yankees traded for Jose Caballero of the Rays while he was playing against them. Boomer wants close-ups of David Stearns because he is a “very small man”. Jerry thinks it would be cool to be taller. Mikal Bridges took a slight discount on his new extension to keep the Knicks under the second apron. The NFL preseason began last night with the Hall of Fame game.
Boomer gives Brian Cashman credit for a great trade deadline. The Yankees got 3 back-end relievers. Gio says it was fun to watch both the Yankees and Mets be aggressive without giving up top prospects. Boomer takes a look at the schedule and says the Yankees are about to take off. Boomer is mad at Gio for a bet he made on whether or not Boomer would eat a fried cannoli. The guys agree that both teams did what they needed to at the deadline.
Keith shares his thoughts on the Yanks and Mets deals at the trade deadline.
Jerry began the show with Boomer, who raised questions about attending Aly's wedding and a Florida trip. Boomer addressed the misconception that Jerry is often excluded, clarifying he's not left out of the Pebble Beach trip. Jerry maintained he isn't upset. After discussing Aly's wedding and differing cash gift customs, they covered Anthony Volpe's performance and the Mets' struggles. Gio arrived later, catching up on what he missed, and a caller confirmed his theory about smaller guys wanting to fight him.
Anthony Volpe struggled with the glove last night but delivered with the bat. Boomer says the Yankees should give Volpe a few days off to clear his head in the field. Jerry wants to see Paul Goldschmidt do a better job at first base helping out his teammates. The heart of the Mets order struggled with the bases loaded and nobody out early in a 7-1 loss. Boomer doesn't like his chair. We play musical chairs and switch everything around.
Cody Bellinger hit a big homer in the Yankees win over the Rays. The Padres handled the Mets in San Diego. Jose Iglesias had a good game against his former team. Juan Soto left the game with an injury but doesn't seem concerned about it. There was a dildo on the court at a WNBA game. Trey Hendrickson is ending his holdout and reporting to Bengals camp.
Gio heard Jerry and Chris McMonigle say they think it's a possibility the Yankees are sellers at the trade deadline and thinks they are insane. Boomer agrees. The Yankees will add and try to win. CMac texts Gio to clarify what he said and Jerry comes back to the studio to do the same.
Boomer and Gio discuss the Yankees' trade deadline approach, disagreeing with Jerry and Chris McMonigle's "seller" stance. CMac and Jerry clarify their comments. A caller involved in the Sal Licata and Brandon Tierney rift calls in. Boomer highlights a "golf revolution." The Mets lost to the Padres after blowing a four-run lead. The hosts debate the strike zone box after bad calls involving Juan Soto. They also discuss a "sexy time" incident at Yankee Stadium and announcers' disbelief over terrible calls. Deion Sanders had his bladder removed due to a tumor. The Moment of the Day involves Joe B, a Mets reliever, a lingerie warehouse, and a women's hotel. Finally, Boomer and Gio ask "Big Hurls" if they can go to Florida for a national championship in September.
The latest BT & Sal show unleashes a torrent of frustration regarding the Yankees' stagnant trade deadline approach, dissecting their perpetual "soft-buying" strategy and the dismal performance of highly touted prospects. Amidst this baseball bedlam, the hosts pivot to football, expressing grave concern over the breaking news of Giants' rising star Malik Nabers' shoulder injury at training camp, further fueling their fiery debate on the health and direction of New York sports teams.

The Yankees start a big series with the Rays tonight with only three games to go before the trade deadline. Dani would trade Jasson Dominguez in the right deal and thinks bullpen help is the Yankees' biggest need.
The Mets have won seven straight, putting their June struggles behind them. Despite many setbacks, they remain in first place. The Yankees traded for Ryan McMahon, a move approved by Jerry, Dani, and C-Lo. Ronny Mauricio led the Mets to a sweep of the Giants, but Jerry worries about the Mets' RISP struggles in the playoffs. A couple engaged in sexual activity at Yankee Stadium, and the segment questions if the woman was faking. Ichiro's HOF speech was praised. Dani wants to bring back secrets and flip phones.
Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie of the 94 WIP Morning Show are excited that the Phillies took 2 of 3 from the Yanks this past weekend, but there were some things that stood out: it's hard to win baseball games and the Phillies seriously need a bat and a bullpen arm. Jon Ritchie hopes the Phillies will not be conservative at the trade deadline. Would you like to see a dome on a future Eagles stadium?

Brandon Tierney unleashes a passionate tirade on the New York Yankees, demanding they shed underperforming veterans and embrace their promising young talent. He argues that the team's lack of accountability and unwillingness to reward minor league success is a fundamental flaw, urging the Yankees to make radical moves at the trade deadline to infuse the roster with fresh, capable youth, even if it means trading established names. Tierney believes the current Yankee squad is not a World Series contender and needs a complete philosophical overhaul to become one.
Brandon Tierney unleashes a rant on the Yankees' urgent need for a "house cleaning," criticizing the team's lack of accountability and suggesting drastic roster changes like trading Grisham and calling up Spencer Jones. He then shifts focus to the Mets, emphasizing their need for a potent bat and discussing the recent trade for Greg Soto. Tierney passionately argues for Ichiro Suzuki's place among the greatest pure hitters of all time, speculating on his potential if he had started his MLB career earlier, and dives into a lively debate with callers about player comparisons and Little League controversies.
