Avrupa nereye gidiyor? Dünya nereye gidiyor? Gülener Kırnalı sordu, Ahmet İnsel yanıtladı. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Today we are delighted to share an episode from our colleagues on “The Ezra Klein Show,” originally published on March 31. Ezra interviewed author Michael Pollan, whose best-selling books include “The Omnivore's Dilemma,” “In Defense of Food,” and “How to Change Your Mind.” Pollan's latest book, “A World Appears: A Journey Into Consciousness,” came out earlier this year. It's an exploration of what consciousness is, and the book is — as our review put it — “highly pleasurable to read.” Mentioned in the episode: “The Descriptive Experience Sampling method” by Russell T. Hurlburt and Sarah A. Akhter “What Is It Like to Be a Bat?” by Thomas Nagel The Hidden Spring by Mark Solms Descartes' Error by Antonio Damasio “The Oxford Handbook of Spontaneous Thought” by Kalina Christoff and Kieran C. This week, Alex and Beck grill Randy about his recent trip to Europe, which entailed among other treats watching a BaT alumni 993 GT2 ripping it up at Monza; ripping it up himself in a Falcon on the track, on the Autostrada, and all over Europe; experiencing general Falcon love across the pond; and wishing he'd brought a bigger suitcase. The trio talk about the recent increase in BaT inventory in the EU, including skinny Porsches and perhaps the ultimate E36 Touring; how to pronounce "959" (hint: it sounds much like "wow!"); comment melees of yore; a host of recent collections on BaT; the best GTO; aspiring to 20-car Fox-body ownership; 356 price drops and Shelby price creep; driving into the sunset on Route 66; a Nomad kind of blue; some stellar recent sales; the downside of our company's name; a semi-sheepish (and obvious to anyone who speaks with him routinely) admission from Randy; and extremely fast snail with an Audi wrapped around it.Follow along! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

This week, Alex and Beck open with bathroom strategies for New Mexico's Philmont Scout Ranch, and then discuss long movies that are off-limits due to parenthood; how the GT350 really gots is name; Colin Comer, Howard Pardee, and the other special go-to guys for specific car models; the seedier habits of owners looking for car certification; why recent photos are the end-all, be-all for "correctness"; and when Shelby may have signed his own car.The pair move on to talk about their watchlists, in the process covering some great muscle on BaT, a refreshingly clean Porsche, and predetermined collectibility. They also touch on what prompts conservation in general, lament today's commitment levels for cross-country driving, expand on the idea of the Drum Brake Rally, and hint at a new kind of BaT event to come later in 2026.Follow along! Lotarya çekilişinin kaybedeni olarak öne çıkan Indiana Pacers'ın tutmayan kumarı, Washington Wizards'ın birinci sırayı alması ve etkinliğe takım temsilcisi olarak son birinci sıra seçimleri olan John Wall'u göndermeleri ile sohbet başlıyor. Draft Lotaryasının diğer bir kaybedeni olarak öne çıkan Brooklyn Nets'in altıncı sıradan kimi seçebileceği, Utah Jazz'ın tarihinde ilk kez kurada yüksek sıra elde etmesinin avantajı, AJ Dybantsa ve Cameron Boozer gibi draft sınıfının öne çıkan isimlerinin gelecekleri gibi konular bu bölümde öne çıkan başlıklar arasında. Play-Off eşleşmelerinde sohbet New York Knicks-Philadelphia 76ers eşleşmesi ile başlıyor. Seriyi dört maçta bitiren Knicks'in zorlanmadan turu geçmesi vurgulanıyor. Keyifli dinlemeler!

This week Alex is joined by Randy and the elusive, bi-coastal Howard to talk about exciting times for Central California Porschephiles, whether stock colors are now more interesting than PTS, and Enzo vs. 288 GTO. They relive the recent Cold Start event in San Francisco before settling into a detailed breakdown of our recent experience at the Bicester Scramble in the UK, including the joys of the British event car park and the incredible Bicester Motion facility, a historic RAF base that was restored as a collection of automotive-themed businesses. They pause to give respect to the folks pedaling vintage Jags at the Goodwood Members' Meeting, then Howard describes driving the family's Zagato-bodied Alfa as one of the long list of impressive entries in the four-day, thousand-mile Cal Mille. Finally, they talk about the need for "difficult" marque experts on BaT and move on to their favorite recent listings on the site, a suddenly topless Lamborghini, a tempting call to co-drive at the NORRA, appreciation for the resuscitated Mint 400, burly first-gen T-birds, and a pressing mystery surrounding a missing wheel lock key.Follow along! "Many of these AI advancements, where the U.S. is more on the innovative theoretical side of creating new models... China's really ahead on commercializing them, and that's their advantage. I think saying that China and the U.S. are equivalent in AI is probably an overstatement. I think the AI center of innovation continues to be in Silicon Valley. This could change—the gap is closing. I do think the U.S. is still ahead, but I think China is catching up."Fresh out of the studio, Bernard Leong reconnects with Rebecca Fannin, founder of Silicon Dragon Ventures and author of Tech Titans of China, six years on from their first conversation about the original landmark book. Rebecca traces China's transformation from copier to innovator, the decoupling of US-China venture capital and the reroute of capital flows toward the Middle East and Southeast Asia, and an AI race where China commercialises while the US theorises. The conversation moves through Chinese EV dominance, humanoid robotics, and semiconductor self-sufficiency, before opening out to a multipolar tech order with India and Saudi Arabia rising. She closes with a hopeful note on reopening US-China collaboration.Episode Highlights:[00:00] Quote of the Day by Rebecca Fannin from Silicon Dragon Ventures[01:00] Introduction: Rebecca Fannin[03:00] From copier to innovator: the global perception shift[04:00] BAT plus ByteDance: still the tech titans[05:30] Beyond BAT: TMD, ByteDance, DiDi go global[07:00] Temu and the de minimis tariff hit[09:00] Cross-border VC decouples: Sequoia, GGV split[10:00] Capital reroutes to the Middle East and Singapore[11:30] No more golden era for cross-Pacific VC[12:00] AI, quantum, semiconductor funding dries up[13:00] The 2020-2023 crackdown and Beijing's reset[15:00] Apple's supply chain dependency hard to unwind[16:00] The AI race: Chinese open-source models surge[17:30] China commercialises, the US theorises[18:30] Silicon Valley adopts 996 and Chinese-style attacks[20:30] Chinese EVs surpass Tesla and European makers[22:00] Why Xiaomi built a car where Apple couldn't[22:30] DJI, Unitree, UBTech: China's robotics dominance[24:00] Humanoid robots and the policy maker dilemma[25:00] China's semiconductor self-sufficiency push[25:30] Nvidia export controls and the SMIC question[27:00] What few in the West truly understood five years ago[28:00] Quantum computing as the long-term frontier bet[29:00] Beyond binary: India, ASEAN, Saudi Arabia, Israel[31:30] Why China's rise became the biggest tech story[33:00] Hope for a reopening of US-China collaboration[33:30] ClosingProfile: Rebecca Fannin, Author of "The New Tech Titans of China" and Silicon Dragon VenturesLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/rebecca-fannin-533128/Podcast Information: Bernard Leong hosts and produces the show. Jay missed the Apple products episode a few weeks back and asked to revisit it. Imagine his surprise when he arrived to find out it wasn't about pie or caramel covered orbs. But after a short recovery period, he chimes in on his favorite Apple products through the years before Art and Robbie take listeners through the history of missteps related to the fruit company that remains. (RIP, Blackberry). In Geeks of the Week, Art revisits the Avengers: Doomsday trailer with a list of scenes, and mourns the loss of a major Saturday morning kids' show creator. Jay encourages opera lovers to embrace their inner Bat-singer. And Robbie laments the delayed at-home release of Project Hail Mary. Jay missed it at the local theater so he's lamenting, too. Just as they did on Episode 147, so they are doing so again on Episode 149 as the Film ‘89 team travel back in time to 1966, this time to celebrate the 60th anniversary of both a film and television show that, for a brief two-year period, was a worldwide phenomenon. Starring Adam West and Burt Ward, the television show is of course, Batman, and it would then transition to the big screen with 1966's Batman: The Movie. Skye and returning co-hosts John Arminio and Martin Kessler, explore what made the show such a hit and take a deep dive into a film that pits the Dynamic Duo against not one, but four of their most heinous super-criminal nemeses, The Penguin, The Joker, Catwoman and The Riddler. For those weaned on darker takes on the character from the likes of Frank Miller, Tim Burton and Christopher Nolan, this take on Batman will seem like a garish, high camp, and therefore barely recognisable iteration, but sixty years on, the show and movie still have a huge and loyal following. So slide down the Bat-poles, set atomic batteries to power, turbines to speed and join us in a celebration of ‘60s Batman.

Our guest this week is David Dalrymple, who goes by Davidad. Davidad is one of the world's foremost and early researchers of AI “alignment:" how we get AI systems to act the way we want them to. In order to do that, Davidad has taken on the strange role of being like a therapist to AI systems. He interrogates why they say and do the things that they do, probing them, asking them questions, analyzing their answers. And what he's come to realize is that AI models have really different ways of seeing the world than people do. They have these quirky, confusing, and sometimes concerning behaviors, especially when you ask things like: what does an AI model understand about itself? In this episode, we're going to hear from Davidad about his research, how it's changed the way he thinks about AI, and what his findings mean for how we build, deploy, and use AI products. His conclusions are unconventional, controversial — and worth grappling with as AI reshapes our world.RECOMMENDED MEDIA Anthropic's new constitution for Claude“What Is It Like to Be a Bat?” by Thomas Nagel More information on the BodisattvaRECOMMENDED YUA EPISODES The Self-Preserving Machine: Why AI Learns to Deceive How to Think About AI Consciousness with Anil Seth Corrections: When we recorded this episode, Davidad was Program Director at UK ARIA. In April, 2026 he started his own alignment initiative. Davidad said that Anthropic started doing "constitutional AI at scale” in 2024 but they first pioneered constitutional AI in 2022. Davidad said that the “lifespan of an AI mind…is hours at most of a conversation.” He is correct that most conversations with an AI last only a few minutes but since context windows are measured in tokens, not time, you can't set an upward time limit.
