The premise in episode 10, season 2 of the Big Picture You podcast series. - Manipulating the Future Through Addressing Regrets - is that regrets, like truth, can be a tricky proposition. Partly because if you change any tidbit (or regrettable actions and behavior), in the past, everything from thence forward may turn out differently and possibly not so well, comparatively. Meanwhile, we are tasked with trying to run our lives in ways that do not create situation for, or facilitate regret. Regrets are also about admitting truths, so it will be a nice tie in to Season 2 Episode 9. In this episode I am talking about identity and it's many ebbing and flowing components and facets. I open with a true and personal narrative related to the killing of George Floyd and surrounding police and social dynamics. I then talk a bit about negotiating and navigating identity components and facets in order to create and maintain personal harmony, leading to greater group harmony. For this episode I wanted to connect with community a bit, so I solicited comments from a variety of community members regarding coping with the current world health condition and stay at home orders. The prompts I used were: What are you doing to positively manage this stay at home order and other challenges brought about by the global pandemic – for yourselves or for others?; How are you feeling emotionally?; What is your take on the big picture of lifestyle vs. pandemic moving forward? I got back a wonderful group of comments that represent some wishes, joys and fears, as well as representing some commonalities and some stuff that is unique to a particular person. Either way, it is an insightful, empowering, and inspiring half hour journey, so enjoy the listen and please share!
