Oh my god, did you watch the Candace Owens and Andrew Wilson debate? Who do you think won? NEITHER. A debate supposedly centered around Tyler Robinson, and Wilson's opening statement that Israeli conspiracies are baseless, which produces almost nothing of value is purely entertainment and propaganda. When hundreds of thousands of dollars, teams of fact-checkers, and massive social media engagement are involved it may be that the debate is more of a staged show trial. Chinese state television does engage in this type of deception: a study published in 2002 called this “debating with muzzled mouths.” It investigated the supposed freedom of Chinese debates that were reduced ultimately to four methods of control: content control, procedural control, semiotic control and interpretative control. Respectively, what is allowed, how it is allowed, how it is marketed and presented, and how it is framed in the aftermath. The Soviet Union sent out agents who could openly speak against the state into the public to find those who agreed, and then to round them up and eliminate the threat. China's 100 Flowers Campaign and the Soviet Operation Trust are just part of this technique.https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/016344370202400102*The is the FREE archive, which includes advertisements. This week on The Mouths of Madness, we're diving into The Silence of the Lambs (1991)—the Oscar-winning horror classic featuring Hannibal Lecter, Clarice Starling, Buffalo Bill, and enough psychological horror to make your therapist quit. But here's the twist... is Clarice actually the hero?
Fantasia International Film Festival 2026, the 30th edition. This is the annual film festival founded in 1996 and held primarily in Montreal, Canada. It specialises in genre films, including fantasy, horror, science fiction, and cult cinema, and draws over 100,000 attendees each year including Marc Canale and myself, old hands at this now, two years on the trot at A Year in Horror HQ. Once again we've been invited to take part in covering the big one and we can not wait to get stuck in. Today we run through the second batch of films we caught at this years event and then pick our favourites of the festival. 00.33 - Intro 01.15 - Home Bodies 03.56 - The Mouths 08.54 - I Love Paris 11.26 - Redneck 16.38 - Nightborn 19.37 - The Last Footage 30.06 - Colony 39.23 - Peril at Pincer Point 41.27 - Top Picks + Outro

Is The Devil's Rejects (2005) actually Rob Zombie's greatest horror movie... or did we all just get hypnotized by Free Bird and Tutti Frutti ice cream?

Sarah and I are still grinding deep within the 30th edition of the Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal. We're not getting to as many screenings as we'd like (broken leg will do that), but we're still hitting a solid mix of the classic Fantasia checkboxes. Fresh episode of 9to5.cc Goes to Fantasia is up, and this one covers two strong ones. First is The Mouths, the North American premiere from Takashi Shimizu. Classic Japanese horror setup: a cursed tree outside a cemetery, a group of teens daring each other to touch it for a courage test, and then the usual (and very well-executed) fallout. Hollow eyes, streaky hair, excellent practical makeup and effects. The film is framed as a series of first-person accounts given to an investigating officer, which lets it play with both the supernatural side and the interpersonal drama between the characters. It leans into that familiar “you kind of brought this on yourself” Japanese horror energy. If you like the original Ju-On or Ringu, this is an easy recommendation. Short, breezy, and does the genre proud. Then we get to the one that might be my favorite film of the festival so far (and one of my favorites of the year): I Love Paris. World premiere. It's an underground music-scene mockumentary that happens to have vampires in it. Think What We Do in the Shadows energy, but less cartoonish and more grounded in the actual Parisian music world. Paris (played by Aminata Thiboult, who is fantastic) is an up-and-coming French artist who becomes a vampire mostly by accident and then has to figure out how to still chase a festival slot when she can only work at night. The vampire lore is kept deliberately light — no super strength, no fancy courts, just the inconvenience of living forever and needing blood. The music-scene side is so strong it could almost stand alone as a comedy about trying to make it. Bilingual, full of very French humor, and the main performance is a delight. Two very different vibes, both worth your time if you’re hunting down movies off the beaten path. We'll keep watching. You keep listening. Go see some Fantasia films. The Fantasia International Film Festival runs from July 16th to August 2nd 2026 at Concordia University. The song during our intro and outro is “Until I Sleep” by Henry Homesweet and is licensed under a Attribution 2.0 UK: England License. Paul continues to address the "problem of Israel" and he deals with one final objection: What if Israel didn't believe the gospel because they never had the chance to hear the gospel? To that objection, Paul shows that Israel had ample opportunities to hear the gospel. As such, when it comes to evangelism, we need to share the gospel with beautiful feet (sacrificial initiative), open mouths (clear explanations), and outstretched hands (winsome perseverance). While we don't have the power to change hearts, we have been given the feet, mouth, and hands to share the gospel that can change hearts.

This week on the Mouths of Madness, we're diving deep into one of the most talked-about psychological horror thrillers in recent years. We break down the shocking twist, Willow Fitzgerald's incredible performance, the nonlinear storytelling, the cinematography, hidden symbolism, and whether Strange Darling deserves to be considered a modern horror classic—or if it's being overhyped.Of course... we don't exactly make it to the review without things falling apart first. Before we can even start talking about the movie, we decide every horror podcast should have a safe word for when the conversation gets too intense. Unfortunately, Bearclaw reaches his breaking point almost immediately, safe words stop meaning anything, and the episode somehow turns into a ridiculous cat-and-mouse game as the rest of us push him further into madness.Nothing is what it seems... and neither is this episode.

Why Did I (He, She, They) Say That?
You don't need protests, marches, or manufactured outrage to expose today's Democratic Party. All you have to do is let them talk. The reaction to the murder of Austin Metcalf and the conviction of Carmelo Anthony tells you everything you need to know. Instead of standing firmly on the side of truth, personal responsibility, and justice, too many voices on the left immediately turned to victimhood, racial division, and excuses. Facts became secondary. Reality became optional. Perhaps no one illustrated that disconnect better than Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett. Her comments suggesting the knife used in the killing was somehow not a deadly weapon and that Carmelo Anthony was simply trying to get out of the rain are so detached from common sense that they almost defy belief. A young man is dead. A family is devastated. Yet instead of focusing on the victim, some politicians seem more interested in creating narratives that fit their political agenda. What should have been a straightforward conversation about right and wrong quickly became another attempt to inflame racial tensions and pit Americans against each other. The same people who claim to oppose division seem determined to inject race into every tragedy, every crime, and every headline. Today on Stinchfield, I break down how Democrats are often their own worst enemy. Their words reveal the lack of common sense. Their arguments expose the victim mentality. Their reactions uncover a worldview detached from reality. The more they speak, the more Americans see through the deception. The truth is simple: when your ideas can't survive scrutiny, outrage becomes the strategy. And that's exactly what's happening before our eyes. In Galatians 2:11–21, Paul publicly confronts Peter for withdrawing from table fellowship with Gentile believers and acting out of step with the truth of the gospel. This episode explores why Peter's actions implied that Gentiles had to “live like Jews,” even if he never said those words directly. We'll unpack Paul's argument about justification by faith, union with Christ, and why adding law-keeping as a requirement for righteousness would mean Christ died for nothing. That You May Know Him, Episode 302. Galatians, Part 6.

As we celebrate Mother's Day in this series, we look at how often some of our first glimpses of grace happen in our homes because of our moms. Our foundational concept going through this series is a reminder; when feeling empty, we have to remember that God is the only One who truly fills us. God has always valued generational families, and His plans have always been generational. We can look the first encounter of Moses with God and we can see how, at the mention of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob, Moses falls down on his face to revere the Lord. The truth is God's plans for godly parents are to help us in troubling times, and to point to who truly fills. Godly parents also help to guard the places that God has filled. Ultimately we can see that faith is cultivated in the home. - Key Verses // Matthew 5:6, Exodus 3:6, 2 Timothy 1:3-8 - For Sermon Notes, the Connect Card, and our other online resources: https://linktr.ee/Celebrationchurchlive

A sermon by Brad Snyder based on 2 Corinthians 6:1-13 preached on May 10th as part of our sermon series called "Glorious Weakness: Discovering Our Transformed Life In Christ."
This week I am talking to the medium Traci Bray. Bio Traci Bray was born and raised in Clinton, Iowa. She was 5 years old when the first known deceased person appeared to her. Although recognition of life beyond a physical existence was real for Traci, it wasn't until the mid-1990's that she began offering public readings at the urging of friends. Via word-of-mouth, accolades of her skills widened. Her clientele has expanded across the US, and to all continents save the poles! Traci's professional background and enhanced communications skills lend themselves to her readings. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Family Services and a Master's in Law Enforcement and Justice Administration. For over two decades prior to reading publicly she assisted individuals, families and systems toward change for improvement in the fields of domestic violence, sexual assault, corrections and public transportation. She served as a curriculum writer and trainer for two state-level law enforcement agencies in the Midwest. It is a natural that in addition to families, local, state and federal law enforcement agencies have requested and received her confidential input. In late 2022, Traci published an oracle card deck, "The Soul Lives On - Life-Affirming Channeled Messages from Spirit", and an accompanying Journaling Workbook, both with Stacy A. Macy, JD. More recently, a number of thoughts and quotes of Traci's appear in Dr. Julie Beischel's oracle card deck, "Guidance for Grief: Wisdom to Help You Stay Connected to Your Loved One After Loss", and her book From the Mouths of Mediums, which provides interviews with other Windbridge Certified Research Mediums which Beischel directs. In 2000, Traci was filmed by the BBC for a documentary, produced by Justine Picardie, on mediums. That experience later materializes in Picardie's book, If the Spirit Moves You: Love and Life Beyond Death. Additionally she appears in the book Truth About Medium, by Dr. Gary Schwartz, former Director of the University of Arizona's coveted VERITAS program, where she served as a “Research Medium”. Other research mediums with VERITAS have included John Edward, George Anderson and Allison DuBois, the latter on whom the NBC series "Medium" is based. Windbridge Certified Research Mediums include Laura Lynne Jackson, Debra Martin and Kim Russo. Key media pieces include: Kansas City NBC affiliate KSHB produced a feature story on Traci's work; Quoted in CNN online article Contributor to Dr. Julie Beischel's (Director of Research, Windbridge) award winning essay for the (Robert) Bigelow Institute for Consciousness Studies Contributor to e.books published by Windbridge including Among Mediums: a Scientists Quest for Answers Presenter, The Compassionate Friends regional conference Presenter, The Vail Symposium (see photo at left of Traci, Dr. Julie Beischel, and Eliza Rey, another WCRM Guest on "Kansas City Live" Feature article in the "Kansas City Star" Numerous articles about her work have materialized in a number of newspapers and magazines across the Midwest including the "Kearney Press," "Kansas City Wellness," and "Evolving." Today Traci is a Level #5 Certified Research Medium with The Windbridge Research Center (see http://windbridge.org) in Tucson, AZ. Previously she served as a Certified Medium with the Forever Family Foundation in New York. Traci is a relaxed, dynamic, and engaging public speaker and reader. She can be hilarious! A passion for writing finds her working on several projects from her home which is on the National Historic Register in Kansas City, Missouri. Traci's readings come from Spirit in the 'spirit-of' personal enlightenment. To some recipients, they also provide entertainment and certainly, enjoyment. Every beneficiary of a reading has free will to choose as they see fit for their own life. Individuals are responsible for their interpretation of the reading as well as how or if they incorporate it into their own life via thought, word and deed. https://tracibray.com/ https://www.pastliveshypnosis.co.uk/https://www.patreon.com/ourparanormalafterlifeMy book 'Verified Near Death Experiences' https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DXKRGDFP Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. In this episode, we're unpacking one of the simplest but most overlooked shifts you can make in your business. Start saying what you actually want. The bookings you're after. The markets you want to step into. The rooms you want to be in. Because the moment you speak it, things start to move.We talk about what it looks like to go from waiting… to taking action. From playing small… to actually putting yourself in the position to grow. And how something as small as asking for an introduction or sharing your goals can open doors you didn't even know were there.I spent years thinking if I just kept my head down and worked hard, it would all happen for me. But growth didn't come from staying quiet. It came from getting uncomfortable, speaking up, and going for it before I felt fully ready.Momentum doesn't come from overthinking. What if the real problem with today’s world isn’t politics or technology—but our mouths? Darien delivers a no-filter reflection on why “clean mouths” once meant character, respect, and discipline. From grandma’s soap bar to modern-day anything-goes language, he explores how words reveal the heart—and what we lose when standards slip. Part confession, part call-to-action, this is a reminder that cleaning up how we speak might just clean up how we live. Joe Kent is an alleged leaker and is wrong on Iran. He hasn't even been included in briefings for months due to suspected incessant leaking to the White House's concern. How can such a person hold his position of the Director of the National Counterterrorism Center if trusted officials fear he will leak sensitive information. Also, in breaking news, according to Semafor the FBI is investigating Kent for allegedly improperly sharing classified information as part of a leak probe that began months before his resignation. It now looks like he resigned to control the narrative, not because of the Iran war.
