Boocock hijacks BOOCOCK to Boocock on behalf of: WHERE TO LAND - Hal Hartley's NEWEST Feature Film a Kickstarter campaign  DEADLINE: 4 January 2020 From the press release: On 5 December 2019, American filmmaker Hal Hartley launched his sixth Kickstarter crowdsourcing campaign since 2011 to raise $300,000 in 30 days to produce his newest feature film, Where To Land. Hal Hartley Popularly identified with American Independent filmmaking since the early 1990s, Hartley has been making critically esteemed and award-winning works ever since. He has won awards at Sundance (1991), Tokyo (1994), Cannes (1998), Berlin (2015) and a lifetime achievement award at Houston (2019). Retrospectives of his work have been presented all over the world.   Where To Land Joseph Fulton, a well-regarded fifty-eight year-old director of romantic comedies, wants to become assistant groundskeeper at a local cemetery. He wants to work outdoors and be close to nature. Meanwhile, he thinks it’s important to have his last will and testament drawn up. But his highly dramatic actress girlfriend thinks he must be dying and that he is just too brave to tell anyone. The rumor spreads and soon everyone he knows—and some he doesn’t—are crowded in to his small apartment to say their last farewells. Where to Land will feature some of the actors most associated with Hartley’s films: Parker Posey, Bill Sage, Robert Burke, Tatiana Abracos and Elina Löwensohn. Where To Land will also introduce a new generation of performers, as it is a story about a successful and semi-retired director of romantic comedies who wants nothing more than a part-time job as assistant gardener in a local cemetery, but who is being enticed back into show business by a few younger, aspiring professionals, one of whom is his girlfriend. The Where To Land Kickstarter campaign ends 4 January 2020  Visit www.halhartley.com and click on Where To Land Kickstarter. Using a credit card, pre-buy deluxe boxed-sets of the film on Blu-ray and wait about a year to receive the product. If Hartley doesn’t reach his stated goal in thirty days, your credit card will not be charged. If the goal is reached, Hartley will use the money to produce the film and manufacture the Blu-ray’s, subtitled in English, French, German, Spanish and Japanese. Boocock continues unpacking the Amendments to the Constitution of the United States of America before he is interrupted by a visit from actor Bill Sage. Sage, known for his roles in the Sundance TV crime drama, Hap and Leonard (2016) and the artful thriller, We Are What We Are (2013), first came to popular notice as Dennis McCabe, the younger, more bookish, brother in Hal Hartley’s award winning Simple Men (1992). Sage discusses his working class background, the struggle to get a college education in the Reagan era and his fortuitous introduction to the acting life. This interview concludes Boocock’s running coverage of Hartley’s Long Island Boxed-Set Kickstarter which is kickstarting through this Tuesday at midnight. A rousing discussion with Boocock's "greatest fan" the Christian Libertarian, Lomax Christiansen, who demands an explanation of the Boocock blindfold iconography. Typically, it dissolves into aggravated verbal assault on Lomax's part and an idealistic expression of ethical restraint in public discourse by Boocock. All of which somehow leads to some flagrant promotion of Hal Hartley's LONG ISLAND TRILOGY box-set Kickstarter campaign. Finally, Boocock presents an excerpt from a 2004 discussion between Hartley, actress and filmmaker Adrienne Shelly, and actor and filmmaker DJ Mendel about the two films Hartley and Shelly made together, The Unbelievable Truth (1989) and Trust (1990). Boocock says: Support Women Filmmakers. The Adrienne Shelly Foundation begun in memory and celebration of our sadly missed friend and colleague, Adrienne Shelly (1966-2006), has for over a decade partnered with some of the finest academic and filmmaking institutions in the country to help provide scholarships, production grants, finishing funds and living stipends. Episode 101: Boocock is a motivational speaker in dubious battle with his own reactionary hysteria and complacent apathy. Podcasting from the janitor's closet in an office building after hours, he may be homeless and/or wanted by the law. Boocock's efforts to motivate are repeatedly short-circuited by the custodian, a security guard, and an unnamed boss who calls in to berate him for not getting on with the show's actual content - interviews with relevant artists. Boocock is just trying to help. This time he talks with independent filmmaker, Hal Hartley, and the worldwide release of his HENRY FOOL TRILOGY on Blu-ray and DVD.
