It's the end of the year and very soon the beginning of 2025, so we're going to talk about fitness. But before you click away, I'm not going to preach at you about getting in shape. In this episode, Matt Myers of Nerd Fitness and I hit 3 major topics that have been huge for me: the all-or-nothing mentality, mindful eating, and systems over goals. And these aren't strictly limited to fitness or nutrition. These principles apply to any endeavor you'd like to set out on, like any of your golf or life goals. I'm confident you'll leave this episode with a thorough understanding of how to get and stay motivated to accomplish fitness goals, not to mention any other goal you have for 2025. ----- Previous goal-setting episodes of The Mental Golf Show: 2024: https://pod.fo/e/294fa2 2023: https://pod.fo/e/21145d 2022: https://pod.fo/e/159525 2021: https://pod.fo/e/101a80 2020: https://pod.fo/e/d0ff1 2019: https://pod.fo/e/129bab ----- Elevate the quality of your practice! Brazil had 5 of the top 6 surfers on the men's Challenger Series this year and 6 in the top 10. As a result, they'll have 11 surfers on the CT in 2025, which is nearly one-third of the tour. However, Brazilians often fall off the CT only to requalify again the next year, reducing the amount of would-be rookies joining the tour. Why is this, and what does it mean for surfing? Following Saquarema, Stace G and Mikey C break down all things CS with the help of Jake Paterson and Matt Myers.

0:00 ... Hello and welcome to the show ... Episode #93 is in honor of Metta World Peace ... then Ross introduces the panel 0:59 ... Bet online live commercial read 1:43... Bruce welcomes Jared Greenberg to the show ... who points out another player who wore #93 (PJ Brown) 2:36 ... Jared discusses his new show called "Crunch Time" on the NBA app and shares details on why the show is so valuable to NBA fans. 5:06 ... Can the Warriors hang onto their play-in spot and make the postseason now that Chris Paul is back? 6:43 ... Bruce asks Jared about Chris Paul "T-ing up" official Matt Myers after Myers "T-d" Paul up on Wednesday night. Jared was impressed with Myers' demeanor in the moment. 8:25 ... World B asks Jared for his opinion on the Sacramento Kings and how high their ceiling is. Jared points out that it's hard to go from "good to great," and that's where the Kings are right now. It is harder to do that than to go from from "bad to good." 10:31 ... What about Domantas Sabonis and his spot on the MVP ladder. Jared feels his numerous triple doubles have not led to enough wins so he isn't a top candidate. 12:14 ... The Phoenix Suns could win the west but their injuries have plagued them all season and there is danger of those woes continuing into the postseason. 13:58 ... The New Orleans Pelicans have quietly been excellent this season and Jared feels they have a huge upside heading into the playoffs and are possibly the most talented team "top to bottom" in the NBA. 16:50 ... Jonas Valenciunas of the Pelicans could be a matchup nightmare in the postseason. 17:56 ... The crew discusses the teams currently seeded 7-10 in the west and which ones could make real noise in the playoffs. Dallas and the Lakers don't impress him but the Warriors and Suns do. 20:32 ... Jared feels the Lakers will stay in the play-in hunt despite being bad on the road and having 9 of their final 15 games away from home. 21:35 ... Ross initiates a discussion on the Milwaukee Bucks, but Jared feels that despite their talent, they will not be a threat to the Celtics. 24:16 ... Jared feels the Celtics will not need motivation and will be totally focused on the postseason despite their mostly unscathed cruise through the regular season. 25:36 ... Jared is not concerned that Boston doesn't cause opposing teams to foul them and get into foul trouble due to all the three point shots the Celtics jack up. 27:31 ... Jared agrees with Brian Scalabrine that star players should play MORE minutes and not FEWER minutes as they prepare for the playoffs. 31:15 ... The Knicks have a lot of players who play big minutes and Jared expects Mitchell Robinson to return this season before Julius Randle. He also feels that the Knicks could be more dangerous in the postseason than Cleveland, Milwaukee, and every other eastern conference team not named Boston. 36:36 ... The Orlando Magic have been a nice surprise, but Jared feels that Oklahoma City has been THE top surprise team in the league this season. 37:35 ... Ross and Jared discuss the chances for the Timberwolves to do well in the playoffs with Karl-Anthony Towns injured. While they're a great defensive team, they won't have enough offense without Towns. 38:59 ... Jared shares his thoughts on the race for MVP this season. Had Joel Embiid not been injured, it very well might have been him. There are up to 8 legit candidates but Nikola Jokic is Jared's pick at this point. 40:21 ... Jared and the crew discuss some of his favorite interview subjects and who stands out and we all agree that Michael Malone of the Nuggets is at or near the top of the heap. 42:57 ... Jared shares more details about his whiparound show on the NBA App called "Crunch Time" and why it's a "must watch" for serious NBA fans. 45:16 ... Ross wraps it up and thanks Jared for joining us ... bye bye TRT 45:47

Tobacco use is the world's leading cause of preventable death.Since the mid-20th century, the tobacco industry has used deliberate marketing tactics to confuse the public about tobacco's harmful effects, causing billions of deaths globally from tobacco use and second-hand smoke. However, a growing number of countries and organizations around the world are standing up to the tobacco industry and taking strong action.Since its launch in 1995, the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids has tackled the tobacco industry head on. And since the launch of the Bloomberg Initiative to Reduce Tobacco Use in 2007, the arch of the fight against tobacco has changed drastically – in turn, saving millions of lives. Despite this progress, the data shows that there's still a lot of work to be done. While cigarette use declined exceptionally over the years, the tobacco industry has found ways to reinvent itself through social media ad campaigns and colorful, fun-flavored e-cigarettes tailor made for kids.On this episode, our host Katherine Oliver, sits down with Matt Myers, outgoing President of the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids and Yolonda Richardson, the Campaign's current President, to share more about the arduous battle against the ever-evolving tobacco industry and its deceptive marketing to kids and low-income communities around the world.

Fellow Climate Warriors, ICYMI:
In this episode, we talk with Matt Myers @mr_mattmyers from Myers Surf Mentorship @myerssurfmentorship . Matt describes how it was growing up in the crazy and vibrant surf town of Santa Cruz, and how being a Jr. Lifeguard paved the path to a life in and around surfing. He recalls scaling cliffs to get into the water and says the kids these days have it easy, with the staircases that now grant them access to the ocean in SC. Matt's memories bring him back to having fun doing skits for the surf movie trilogy Get Rad by Kyle Buthman, which is based around the surfers of Santa Cruz. He chats about leaving the security of SC, and moving to Southern California, taking a job for Rip Curl, being in charge of The Grom Search, and sometimes living the life of eight hours behind a desk. During the pandemic, Myers decided to take up coaching full-time, and he says his job is to be the support team and to make the athlete as comfortable as possible because if you are feeling confident, clear-headed, and fired-up, you will excel. Matt Myers from Houndmouth joined us for a fun solo acoustic set of tunes from the band's recent release Good For You.
Today I am very happy to have Matt Myers and Shane Cody of the band Houndmouth on the show. I hadn't heard of Houndmouth until about 4 months ago but they have quickly become one of my favorite bands. Their new record Good For You absolutely blows my mind. Houndmouth started about 10 years ago when Matt and Shane met and started jamming and a short time later they scored a record deal at SXSW. You guys are gonna love their story. Make sure you dive into their music and help spread the word. Thanks for tuning in and have a great week. DDR
The BBBs hang out with Matt Myers and Shane Cody of Houndmouth to talk their new record Good For You, stories from the studio and the road, and a sprinkle of wrestling. Also, Houndmouth manager Chris Thomas hops on the mic to discuss music copyright, and Matt's partner Courtney asks about the albums that define specific moments in your life. Buffalo vs. Ball St Pick Prediction 11/23/2021 by Tony T. Buffalo at Ball St—Buffalo with seven losses is out of a bowl. Ball St enter with a mark of 5-6 and one win away from bowl eligibility. Bulls have lost three straight after their overtime 33-27 defeat to Northern Illinois. This was a program that lost their head coach to Kansas and had few starters back. Senior quarterback Kyle Vantrease is out for the season and it will be Matt Myers under center. He has averaged 6.9 yards per pass attempt past three games. Past three games Buffalo defense allowing 508 yards with 6.5 yards per rush and 11 yards per pass attempt. Cardinals quarterback Drew Plitt is experienced and faces a soft defense here. In that three game period Ball St is running for six yards per carry. Play Ball St -6.5.
With their new album, "Good For You," hitting streaming services now and jumping in the tour van, Houndmouth's Matt Myers joins the show to talk about the band's last couple years. Norcross City Councilman Matt Myers is our guest on this episode of Etch The Edges. Who is he and why is he serving? A self-declared kid from South Carolina, who is still just a kid, though the aches and pains he says he feels tells him otherwise. He has no patience for the heated fire of partisan politics, but rather spends his energy on listening, learning, collaborating, and building together, for the good of all the people who put him in office. He is an aspiring Statesman and on this episode he takes the time to tell us what he's about and why, for the time he is in this position, which according to his own words is only long enough as necessary to achieve objectives set before him by the will of the people. Then, he will pass the responsibility to someone else qualified to take the reigns of the power he now holds. This is what he does, and what he will do. He serves. Listen, and hear him Etch The Edges. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/etchtheedges/support

Matt Myers has written an oral history of the 2010 student movement that cast off the cliche of an apathetic youth, embarrassed Nick Clegg, sacked the Tory HQ, but didn't quite manage to stop tuition fees going up. Simon Childs, Home Affairs Editor at VICE.com, discusses with Matt why the Iraq War and 2010 student movement is helpful lens to look at what's going on today, particularly because a lot of people who were angry then are movers and shakers in the movement behind Corbyn now.
