We need power for living and not just in difficult times. Life is always full of challenges that would try to hold us back from God's best. The good news is that Jesus has promised us all we need to make it through what we are facing. As Jesus gave some of His final instructions to His disciple He spoke a lot about the Holy Spirit (John 14-16). He also promised them (and us) that the Holy Spirit would abide within us. Unfortunately, the Holy Spirit is kind of the forgotten person of the Holy Trinity. Some refer to the Holy Spirit as it, like some impersonal force, but He is a person. And Jesus used a Greek word paracletos to describe Him. That word is complex and can be translated helper, advocate, counselor, and comforter. It literally means “called alongside” and by implication one called alongside to help. God the Holy Spirit is alongside us throughout our lives. In this series we are going to look at how the Holy Spirit within us empowers us with comfort, courage, direction, transformation, and the supernatural life.
