Einerseits lasse die Funktion der Schweissdrüsen im Alter nach: Älteren Menschen fällt es schwerer, zu schwitzen und damit ihren Körper zu kühlen. Gleichzeitig erweitern sich die Hautgefässe nicht mehr so gut wie früher: Die Hautdurchblutung wird schlechter, und der Kreislauf kann innere Wärme schlechter nach aussen abtransportieren.
