# DS :: 3 days and 3 nights? :: (Some biblical math)(How long was Jesus Dead?)Today is Easter, or was it yesterday?Depends on when you watch this. The point is that Easter was just celebrated. It is a really huge event in the Christian Church. For some people it is the only day they go to church. But is Easter a Christian holiday? If you do any amount of research I am sure you will find that it has some pagan origins.I won't go into detail on Easter today. What I want to talk about today is the death and resurrection of Jesus. There is no doubt about it being a historical event.---"But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth." - Matthew 12:39:40"The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away." - John 19:31"And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him." - Mark 16:1"And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment." - Luke 23:56"Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them." - Luke 24:1---The question is how long was Jesus Dead?Jesus was buried around 6:00 PM most people believe on a Friday. And most believe that he rose Sunday morning. They also believe that He was in the grave 3 days and 3 nights. But that math just doesn't add up.Some people even say he rose on a Monday. Why is there so much division and confusion about the death and resurrection of Jesus?I don't know. But I do know that if we do some simple math we can get to the bottom of this.We know what time of day Jesus was buried. (around 6:00 PM)We know that he was in the grave 3 days and 3 nights. We know that he was gone by Sunday Morning. So we also know that he rose around 6:00 PM Saturday evening. If you count back three days and three nights we get to Wednesday evening. We know Jesus was buried Wednesday evening, because we know that Thursday was a high sabbath.Like I said. Some simple math.3 days and 3 nights.I hope this video gave you something to think about and if you are curious I encourage you to do some more research.---If you are looking for "A simply beautiful place to read, study, and memorize the Bible".Check out SunBibleAvailable on the web at:https://the-sunshining.github.io/SunBible/Or download for your device at:https://sunbible-dev.github.io/download/---### Other Links: [Daily SunShine Website](https://dailysunshinewithncr.weebly.com/)[SunBible](https://the-sunshining.github.io/SunBible/index.html)[Daily SunShine Merch](https://my-store-11528458.creator-spring.com/)[The SunShining Blog](https://thesunshining.weebly.com/sunshining-blog)---#DailySunShine#DailySunShineWithNCR
# DS :: Getting Something out of the Bible(How to stay engaged in God's Word? - Thanks to an Instagram follower for suggesting I do a video about this.) (Reading and Getting Something out of the Bible)(Stay Tuned for more videos on this topic.)---Hi, my name is NCR, and welcome to another episode of Daily SunShine.I love creating and sharing thought-provoking content and encouraging people to get into the Bible.(If that sounds like something you are interested in, I encourage you to hit the subscribe button.)---I have done an episode titled..."How Easy To Read The Bible without getting anything out of it"And"What did I get from that chapter?"But I have never talked about how to get something out of the Bible. So that is what I will be doing today.----In the video where I talked about how easy it is to read the Bible and get nothing out of it.I feel like I bragged too much about how much of the Bible I read.I don't want to brag in this video. But I do just want to say that I have been reading the Bible for a few years. So I have some experience. And today I just want to share some of my top tips on how you can read more and get more out of the Bible.----## 1. Don't treat it like a chore. You read other books for enjoyment right? Why don't you read the Bible for enjoyment too?## 2. Pick a pace that works for you.Read through individual books at a time.Don't take 28 days to read the gospel of Matthew because it has 28 chapters.Read it through in a few days.Maybe someone who has been a long-time Christian and has read through the whole Bible a few times they can take that long. But if you have never the Bible through before. I would recommend sitting down and reading it like a book.## 3. Be intentional about making time to be and spend time in the word of God.(That is basically it for this point.)Pick a time that works for you.## 4. Be involved with a community.I am an introvert. So I love to read the Bible by myself. But being a part of a Christian community can really help you get more out of God's word. And just because you are a part of a group doesn't mean that you should get into God's word by yourself.----Well, that is it for today. Those were just some of my top Bible study tips. There is defiantly more that could on this topic.{That is why I will be doing more videos on Bible reading and Bible study.}If you have any questions on this topic of Bible study or on any spiritual-related topic feel free to ask them in the comments or connect with me on social media and send me a direct message.@TheSunShining on Facebook and Twitter or @TheSunShiningNCR on Instagram. If you watched this far thank you so much. So often when we talk about having an attitude of gratitude we make it just about ourselves. How do I feel?(Depression and the fact that gratitude is a cure for it is a whole other topic I am not going to get into today.)The thing with our emotions is that they affect how we treat other people. So not only should we have an attitude of gratitude for ourselves. We should have an attitude of gratitude because it helps us to treat other people better. So because of that...Today I just want to encourage you to have an attitude of gratitude. But it's not just gratitude that affects how you treat others. It's all your emotions. So I also want to encourage you to think about the emotions you have. And how your emotions affect the way you treat others.Well, that is it for this episode of Daily SunShine. If you wondering why I was thinking about gratitude today is because I was reading this book title Holy Resilience. The book is not really on the topic of gratitude, but I came across one piece in the book that talked about gratitude. It was that piece that inspired this episode of Daily SunShine. Gratitude helps us to be resilient. Gratitude can help us to bounce back up when hardships knock us down. The author of that piece does a much better job of explaining all this than I do. On a side note, I contributed two short pieces to the book. You can find a link to purchase the book in the description of this episode. Daily SunShine: Other Products---New Daily SunShine Website: (https://dailysunshinewithncr.weebly.com/). ---Does anyone else find it funny that I said that is all for this episode of daily sunshine in the smack middle of the video? Let me know in the comments. Anyway here's the SunShining verse of the day... Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. - Philippians 2:4---If you are looking for a beautiful place to read study and memorize the Bible. #DailySunShineThere are many reasons I like Spotify. And today on Daily SunShine I will get to one of those reasons.---But first...If you are looking for a beautiful place to read study and memorize the Bible.Check out...[SunBible](https://the-sunshining.github.io/SunBible/index.html).Available for macOS, Windows and Linux.---Hi...Now you are probably wondering why I am talking about Spotify on a spiritual podcast.Well it is cause I love Spotify so much and I have a spiritual application.I do have this other video series or podcast called tech with Nonresistant where I may talk about Spotify some more sometime in the future.Today I just wanted to share one reason I love Spotify for listening to podcasts. The truth of the matter is that Spotify is not the best place to listen to podcast in 2021.It's surprising that even though it is 2021 it can still be hard to find a good place to listen to podcasts. There are the big platforms like apple podcasts, google podcast, and Spotify podcasts. There are also many smaller podcast streaming platforms like Castbox, RadioPublic, SoundCloud, Breaker, and many more places. There is nothing wrong with any of these podcast streaming platforms and if you are looking for a place to listen to podcast I encourage you to check out some of theses podcast streaming platforms. One of the reasons that I love Spotify is that is cross platform and probably the easiest way to listen to music. When it comes to listening to podcast on the other hand it is a little more different. Most podcast streaming platforms allow you to download and listen to podcasts offline. You can't do that with Spotify unless you have a premium subscription. You ready for it...The reason I love Spotify for listening to podcast or music it because at the end of the year they do this thing called your year wrapped where they summarize your year of listening.I personally really love it.It is almost like hearing a "Well done thou good and faithful servant".I love being able to see my top Artist of the year and see how many minutes or hours I spent listening to podcast.Last year my biggest podcast binge was listening to the work in progress podcast by Andy Mineo.Of course I didn't need Spotify to tell me that. But I can't wait to see my stats for 2021.There are different times I feel like giving up using Spotify for listening to podcasts.(Like right now that is why I am writing this.)But whenever I think about using another application to listen to podcast I think about how at the end of the year Spotify gives you your year stats, and because I love that one feature I am going to stick with Spotify till the end.Let's move on to my spiritual application.Doing good is not easy.Living the Christian life is not easy. There are many things in life that are easier than following Jesus. But let me tell you something. If you don't follow him to the end, you will miss the reward. Here let me share this verse with you...(And maybe things will make more sense.)"And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not." - Galatians 6:9If you would like a poster with that verse on it there will be a link in the description of this episode to my Merch Shop:[Daily SunShine Merch Shop](https://my-store-11528458.creator-spring.com)---Such a good verse.I just want to leave that thought with you today. And I encourage you to think more about what you have read or heard from me here at The SunShining. That is it for this episode of Daily SunShine.By The way Daily SunShine is a podcast available on YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts, so be sure to subscribe wherever you listen!

Should we think about tomorrow? There is a verse in the Bible that says we should not think about tomorrow. Actually, there are a few.{Hi, it's me NCR here with some more daily sunshine.}{Today I just wanted to share a few Bible verses with you about thinking about tomorrow.}{Let me read some of them to you.}> "Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof." - Matthew 6:34> "Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that." - James 4:13-15> "Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth." - Proverbs 27:1I agree wholeheartedly with the Bible that we should not think about tomorrow. Nor should we make big plans for our future here on earth.Instead, we should think about where we will spend eternity. And our thinking about eternity should influence how we live our life here now on earth.Don't live a life here that you will regret for eternity.---Well, that is it for today's sunshine from me here today.I encourage you to go out and start living in God's sunshine. If you would like to get a mug or teacup with that picture and verse on itThere will be a link to my merch shop in the description of this video:[My Christian TeaCup](https://shop.spreadshirt.ca/mychristianteacup/).Also, I am doing a merch giveaway on March 25, 2021.For more details on that, you will have to listen to the SunShine Podcast. And if you are looking for a beautiful place to read study and memorize the Bible.Check out...[SunBible](https://the-sunshining.github.io/SunBible/index.html).Available for macOS windows and Linux.
# Clipping from your life(How to be perfect? - Daily SunShine)So often when I make a mistake in my recording I have to re-record it.But with the power of video editors, I can clip out my mistakes.I can clip and cut and put many different clips together.I think anybody who does video editing would agree with me that no video is perfect. And also, maybe this is just me, but even after I do a lot of video editing the video is still not perfect.Or maybe it's just me that is not pleased with the video.---Hi, my name is N.C.R., and I am here today with some more daily sunshine.I am pretty sure that if you have had any interaction with other people you can agree that people are not perfect. And it's not just other people. It myself, and yourself. We are not perfect.Do you want to be perfect?I'm pretty sure the answer to that question is yes.Don't we all wanna be perfect? The question is how can we be perfect?AndWhy do we want to be perfect?During Jesus's life on this earth, a rich young ruler came to Jesus and asked how he may gain eternal life.Jesus first told the man to keep the commandments. But the man said he had done that since childhood. Finally, Jesus says, and he says it beautiful in Matthew 19:21:> "Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me." - Matthew 19:21Perfection does not come by adding things to yourself like makeup or a costume.Perfection comes by selling all that you have, giving to the poor, and following Jesus.---Well, that is it for today's SunShine from me NCR.I encourage you to go out and live in God's sunshine. Also if you are not a follower of Jesus I encourage you to start following Him now.You will not regret your decision to follow Jesus. And if you are looking for a beautiful place to read study and memorize the Bible.Check out...[SunBible](https://the-sunshining.github.io/SunBible/index.html).Also if you would like to support me I encourage you to check out my merch shop:[My Christian TeaCup](https://shop.spreadshirt.ca/mychristianteacup/).Where you can find TeaCups and Masks with the images I am using right here behind me.Also if you want to connect with me I recommend joining my discord server:(https://discord.gg/RyazvJcdsS).
# When is the last time we waited on the Lord? There are so many Bible verses about waiting on the Lord. One of those verses stuck out to me yesterday when I was reading the Bible.Today I just want to share that verse with you along with a few questions about waiting.---Hi, it's me N.C.R. here with Some more daily SunShine. Is waiting on the Lord important. When is the last time you waited on the Lord?Should waiting on the Lord be a regular part of our schedule?Today I encourage you to wait on the Lord.---What does waiting on the Lord look like? How long do I need to wait?I know as people we usually only wait so long for something. Then say that is it. I will wait no longer.Waiting is hard.---Verse:In the NIV Psalm 5:3 says wait expectantly. In the morning, Lord , you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.Psalms 5:3 NIVHow does one wait expectantly?Since I love the KJV I will read now read Psalm 5:3 from that versionMy voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord ; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.Psalms 5:3 KJV---A few final questions:Are you waiting for the wrong thing? Are you expecting the wrong thing from the right person?OrAre you waiting for the right thing for the wrong time? Are you expecting the right thing at the wrong time?----Well, like I said waiting is hard.More could be said about waiting. But that is all I will say today.I thank you for watching listening or reading this. And I encourage you to take some time to think about what you just heard from me here at the SunShining.---Also, there are so many verses on waiting.I will have a link in the description of where you can read more verses.I will also put the verses on pictures that you can use as your desktop wallpaper. And if you are looking for a beautiful place to read study and memorize the Bible check out...[SunBible](https://the-sunshining.github.io/SunBible/index.html)[SunBible Wallpaper](https://the-sunshining.github.io/SunBible_IMG_Library/SunBible_wallpaper_img/wallpaper.html)---**Other Things:**[Verses about waiting on the Lord](https://medium.com/sunbible/verses-about-waiting-on-the-lord-15e1dd045d68)[Waiting](https://thesunshining.weebly.com/sunshining-blog/waiting)[When is the last time we waited on the Lord?](https://medium.com/the-sunshining/when-is-the-last-time-we-waited-on-the-lord-6420aa4201c8)
Whats different? - Stability in a chaotic changing worldWhy let change disrupt your life? What is different and why does it need to be different? What are some things that are different and what are some things that can be the same?---Hi, my name is N.C.R..We live in chaotic constantly changing world. But some changes don't affect us as much as other changes do. What do we do when something that affects us changes?OrWhat we do when something changes that affects us?---Some things that we as Christians can consistently do to keep our life stable in a changing world:1. Bible reading2. Prayer3. Sing Worship songs to GodFinally and this should be a given.Put you faith and trust in a God that remains the same through the ages.No matter who you are.Whether long time Christian, new to Christianity, or not yet a Christian.Choose to put faith in God today.Have a relationship with a God who doesn't change. We need stability.---Well more could be said on this topic. But that is all I will say today.(If you are not someone who has put your faith in God yet.I encourage you to do so.Because faith in God can really help.)Don't want to let you go without a verse:I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.Psalms 16:8 KJVLike always please think about what you read and hear from me here at The SunShining. And stay tuned for more daily SunShining.---Oh and speaking of Bible reading...Are you looking for "A simply beautiful place to read, study, and memorize the Bible".Check out: [SunBible](https://the-sunshining.github.io/SunBible/)Also you can find beautiful desktop walloper at:[SunBible Wallpaper](https://the-sunshining.github.io/SunBible_IMG_Library/SunBible_wallpaper_img/wallpaper.html)And you can download SunBible for Mac, Windows or Linux at:(https://sunbible-dev.github.io/download/)

#DailySunShinesnowy day reality checkIf you heard it once you've heard it many times. You don't get to decide what happens to you. You only get to choose how you react and respond.I recently had a guest on the SunShining podcast, who really loves winter. When asked what he loved about winter he responded, "Whats not to like?"That is a good question. Whats not to like? Why do you not like something?Obviously as humans we have many reasons for liking or not liking things.Or do we?I just want to encourage to take some time today to think about why you like things the way you like things. And about why you don't like things the way you don't like things.---Do you like snow?Do you dislike snow?Do you like or not like snow shoveling? If you like it cool. If you don't like it maybe it's because...?Do you love the cold?Do you hate cold?---Today's Challenge: Try something new today. What? That is not related to today's topic is it?Or is it?---Anyway as part of today's reality check here are some more questions:Are you content with your current reality? What are some things you like or don't like about your current reality?Do you feel stuck by your current reality?Where is your current reality taking you? (Are you sliding downhill in a sled?)Where are you taking your current reality? (Are you walking uphill with a sled?)(Wow, these last two questions are really profound, but my questions in parentheses may not be the best examples.)Did something negative recently happen to affect your current reality? How will you respond?
