WEEK 3: HIS WISDOM IS PERFECTJoseph: In God's HandsBeholding the Perfect Sovereignty of GodIn today's message, we're reminded that God's wisdom is not only perfect—it's generously available to those who ask. As we walk through Genesis 40, we find Joseph once again in a place of trial, falsely accused and confined in prison. But even here, God is orchestrating events with sovereign precision. Through Joseph's encounter with Pharaoh's cupbearer and baker, we see how God's wisdom breaks through confusion, provides clarity, and sets the stage for redemption.Key Takeaways:God's wisdom is perfect, even in seasons of suffering.Joseph demonstrates mature faith by depending on God rather than trying to figure things out on his own.True spiritual growth means becoming more dependent on the Lord, not more independent.Like Joseph, we can cry out for wisdom in our pain and uncertainty—because God promises to give it generously (James 1:5).God is the Author of your story. There is an answer key—and He holds it.Whether you're facing confusion, waiting on a breakthrough, or walking through deep pain, today's message reminds us to stop striving for answers on our own and instead depend fully on the God who never leaves us without direction.Related Scriptures for Study:Genesis 40:1–13James 1:5Proverbs 3:5–6Isaiah 55:8–9If you're weary, uncertain, or desperate for clarity, don't walk alone. Ask God. Seek His face. His wisdom is for you today.
Eternal life is, perhaps, the most important promise God could ever make. Some people don't think about eternity. They should, for after our earthly existence, each of us will spend eternity either in glory or under God's judgment. People around the world seem to know this intuitively, whether they've heard it taught by a religion or not. There's a good place, there's a bad place, and most people, whether consciously or not, try to live in such a way as to get to the good place.Join me for today's Daily Word & Prayer to learn more.Scripture Used in Today's MessageJohn 5:24Romans 10:9If you've not read my book, Takin' it to Their Turf. request a copy on my website, www.CampusAmerica.com.You'll be inspired, encouraged, and learn plenty about evangelism and spiritual warfare through the 70+ stories I share of my campus evangelism expereinces. We send a copy to anyone who donates to our ministry, but if you can't do so, simply request a copy by sending us an email. Israel was to be a different kind of nation. God was their King. He blessed Israel by, among other things, giving them His laws, providing for them, protecting them, and leading them into battle. But as time went on, being led by an invisible King became a bit much for the people. They wanted to be like the rest of the nations; they wanted an earthly king to do all the things God had been doing for them, and this got them in a lot of trouble.Join me for today's Daily Word & Prayer as we see what we can learn from Israel's mistake. Fines of Favoritism - Incorporating DisenfranchisementWebsite: http://www.battle4freedom.com/Network: https://www.mojo50.comStreaming: https://www.rumble.com/Battle4Freedomhttps://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=James%202%3A8-9&version=CJBJames 2:8-9If you truly attain the goal of Kingdom Torah, in conformity with the passage that says, "Love your neighbor as yourself," you are doing well. But if you show favoritism, your actions constitute sin, since you are convicted under the Torah as transgressors.Genesis 37:1 Ya`akov continued living in the land where his father had lived as a foreigner, the land of Kena`an.Genesis 37:2 Here is the history of Ya`akov. When Yosef was seventeen years old he used to pasture the flock with his brothers, even though he was still a boy. Once when he was with the sons of Bilhah and the sons of Zilpah, his father`s wives, he brought a bad report about them to their father. 3 Now Isra`el loved Yosef the most of all his children, because he was the son of his old age; and he made him a long-sleeved robe. 4 When his brothers saw that their father loved him more than all his brothers, they began to hate him and reached the point where they couldn`t even talk with him in a civil manner.Genesis 37:5 Yosef had a dream which he told his brothers, and that made them hate him all the more. 6 He said to them, "Listen while I tell you about this dream of mine. 7 We were tying up bundles of wheat in the field when suddenly my bundle got up by itself and stood upright; then your bundles came, gathered around mine and prostrated themselves before it." 8 His brothers retorted, "Yes, you will certainly be our king. You`ll do a great job of bossing us around!" And they hated him still more for his dreams and for what he said.Genesis 37:9 He had another dream which he told his brothers: "Here, I had another dream, and there were the sun, the moon and eleven stars prostrating themselves before me." 10 He told his father too, as well as his brothers, but his father rebuked him: "What is this dream you have had? Do you really expect me, your mother and your brothers to come and prostrate ourselves before you on the ground?" 11 His brothers were jealous of him, but his father kept the matter in mind.Genesis 37:12 After this, when his brothers had gone to pasture their father`s sheep in Sh`khem, 13 Isra`el asked Yosef, "Aren`t your brothers pasturing the sheep in Sh`khem? Come, I will send you to them." He answered, "Here I am." 14 He said to him, "Go now, see whether things are going well with your brothers and with the sheep, and bring word back to me." So he sent him away from the Hevron Valley, and he went to Sh`khem, 15 where a man found him wandering around in the countryside. The man asked him, "What are you looking for?" 16 "I`m looking for my brothers," he answered. "Tell me, please, where are they pasturing the sheep?" 17 The man said, "They`ve left here; because I heard them say, `Let`s go to Dotan.`" Yosef went after his brothers and found them in Dotan.Genesis 37:18 They spotted him in the distance, and before he had arrived where they were, they had already plotted to kill him. 19 They said to each other, "Look, this dreamer is coming! 20 So come now, let`s kill him and throw him into one of these water cisterns here. Then we`ll say some wild animal devoured him. We`ll see then what becomes of his dreams!" 21 But when Re`uven heard this, he saved him from being destroyed by them. He said, "We shouldn`t take his life. 22 Don`t shed blood," Re`uven added. "Throw him into this cistern here in the wilds, but don`t lay hands on him yourselves." He intended to rescue him from them later and restore him to his father.Genesis 37:23 So it was that when Yosef arrived to be with his brothers, they stripped off his robe, the long-sleeved robe he was wearing, 24 and took him and threw him into the cistern (the cistern was empty; without any water in it). 25 Then they sat down to eat their meal; but as they looked up, they saw in front of them a caravan of Yishma`elim coming from Gil`ad, their camels loaded with aromatic gum, healing resin and opium, on their way down to Egypt. 26 Y`hudah said to his brothers, "What advantage is it to us if we kill our brother and cover up his blood? 27 Come, let`s sell him to the Yishma`elim, instead of putting him to death with our own hands. After all, he is our brother, our own flesh." His brothers paid attention to him. 28 So when the Midyanim, merchants, passed by, they drew and lifted Yosef up out of the cistern and sold him for half a pound of silver shekels to the Yishma`elim, who took Yosef on to Egypt.Genesis 37:29 Re`uven returned to the cistern, and, upon seeing that Yosef wasn`t in it, tore his clothes in mourning. 30 He returned to his brothers and said, "The boy isn`t there! Where can I go now?"Genesis 37:31 They took Yosef`s robe, killed a male goat and dipped the robe in the blood. 32 Then they sent the long-sleeved robe and brought it to their father, saying, "We found this. Do you know if it`s your son`s robe or not?" 33 He recognized it and cried, "It`s my son`s robe! Some wild animal has torn Yosef in pieces and eaten him!" 34 Ya`akov tore his clothes and, putting sackcloth around his waist, mourned his son for many days. 35 Though all his sons and daughters tried to comfort him, he refused all consolation, saying, "No, I will go down to the grave, to my son, mourning." And his father wept for him.Genesis 37:36 In Egypt the Midyanim sold Yosef to Potifar, one of Pharaoh`s officials, a captain of the guard.Credits:https://unsplash.com/@sharonmccutcheon - moneyhttps://www.pexels.com/@gerhard-14620241/ - lightning storm

Esther 2:19-3:15 Mordecai Discovers a Plot 19Now when the virgins were gathered together the second time, Mordecai was sitting at the king's gate. 20Esther had not made known her kindred or her people, as Mordecai had commanded her, for Esther obeyed Mordecai just as when she was brought up by him. 21In those days, as Mordecai was sitting at the king's gate, Bigthan and Teresh, two of the king's eunuchs, who guarded the threshold, became angry and sought to lay hands on King Ahasuerus. 22And this came to the knowledge of Mordecai, and he told it to Queen Esther, and Esther told the king in the name of Mordecai. 23When the affair was investigated and found to be so, the men were both hanged on the gallows. And it was recorded in the book of the chronicles in the presence of the king. Haman Plots Against the Jews 1After these things King Ahasuerus promoted Haman the Agagite, the son of Hammedatha, and advanced him and set his throne above all the officials who were with him. 2And all the king's servants who were at the king's gate bowed down and paid homage to Haman, for the king had so commanded concerning him. But Mordecai did not bow down or pay homage. 3Then the king's servants who were at the king's gate said to Mordecai, “Why do you transgress the king's command?” 4And when they spoke to him day after day and he would not listen to them, they told Haman, in order to see whether Mordecai's words would stand, for he had told them that he was a Jew. 5And when Haman saw that Mordecai did not bow down or pay homage to him, Haman was filled with fury. 6But he disdained to lay hands on Mordecai alone. So, as they had made known to him the people of Mordecai, Haman sought to destroy all the Jews, the people of Mordecai, throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus. 7In the first month, which is the month of Nisan, in the twelfth year of King Ahasuerus, they cast Pur (that is, they cast lots) before Haman day after day; and they cast it month after month till the twelfth month, which is the month of Adar. 8Then Haman said to King Ahasuerus, “There is a certain people scattered abroad and dispersed among the peoples in all the provinces of your kingdom. Their laws are different from those of every other people, and they do not keep the king's laws, so that it is not to the king's profit to tolerate them. 9If it please the king, let it be decreed that they be destroyed, and I will pay 10,000 talents of silver into the hands of those who have charge of the king's business, that they may put it into the king's treasuries.” 10So the king took his signet ring from his hand and gave it to Haman the Agagite, the son of Hammedatha, the enemy of the Jews. 11And the king said to Haman, “The money is given to you, the people also, to do with them as it seems good to you.” 12 Then the king's scribes were summoned on the thirteenth day of the first month, and an edict, according to all that Haman commanded, was written to the king's satraps and to the governors over all the provinces and to the officials of all the peoples, to every province in its own script and every people in its own language. It was written in the name of King Ahasuerus and sealed with the king's signet ring. 13Letters were sent by couriers to all the king's provinces with instruction to destroy, to kill, and to annihilate all Jews, young and old, women and children, in one day, the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month of Adar, and to plunder their goods. 14A copy of the document was to be issued as a decree in every province by proclamation to all the peoples to be ready for that day. 15The couriers went out hurriedly by order of the king, and the decree was issued in Susa the citadel. And the king and Haman sat down to drink, but the city of Susa was thrown into confusion.

8If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
Fifth Sunday after Pentecost The Collect: O Lord, make us have perpetual love and reverence for your holy Name, for you never fail to help and govern those whom you have set upon the sure foundation of your lovingkindness; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. Old Testament: 1 Samuel 17:(1a, 4-11, 19-23), 32-49 or 1 Samuel 17:57-18:5,10-16 [1Now the Philistines gathered their armies for battle. 4And there came out from the camp of the Philistines a champion named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span. 5He had a helmet of bronze on his head, and he was armed with a coat of mail; the weight of the coat was five thousand shekels of bronze. 6He had greaves of bronze on his legs and a javelin of bronze slung between his shoulders. 7The shaft of his spear was like a weaver's beam, and his spear's head weighed six hundred shekels of iron; and his shield-bearer went before him. 8He stood and shouted to the ranks of Israel, “Why have you come out to draw up for battle? Am I not a Philistine, and are you not servants of Saul? Choose a man for yourselves, and let him come down to me. 9If he is able to fight with me and kill me, then we will be your servants; but if I prevail against him and kill him, then you shall be our servants and serve us.” 10And the Philistine said, “Today I defy the ranks of Israel! Give me a man, that we may fight together.” 11When Saul and all Israel heard these words of the Philistine, they were dismayed and greatly afraid. 19Now Saul, and they, and all the men of Israel, were in the valley of Elah, fighting with the Philistines.20David rose early in the morning, left the sheep with a keeper, took the provisions, and went as Jesse had commanded him. He came to the encampment as the army was going forth to the battle line, shouting the war cry. 21Israel and the Philistines drew up for battle, army against army. 22David left the things in charge of the keeper of the baggage, ran to the ranks, and went and greeted his brothers. 23As he talked with them, the champion, the Philistine of Gath, Goliath by name, came up out of the ranks of the Philistines, and spoke the same words as before. And David heard him.] 32David said to Saul, “Let no one's heart fail because of him; your servant will go and fight with this Philistine.” 33Saul said to David, “You are not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him; for you are just a boy, and he has been a warrior from his youth.” 34But David said to Saul, “Your servant used to keep sheep for his father; and whenever a lion or a bear came, and took a lamb from the flock, 35I went after it and struck it down, rescuing the lamb from its mouth; and if it turned against me, I would catch it by the jaw, strike it down, and kill it.36Your servant has killed both lions and bears; and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be like one of them, since he has defied the armies of the living God.” 37David said, “The Lord, who saved me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, will save me from the hand of this Philistine.” So Saul said to David, “Go, and may the Lord be with you!”38Saul clothed David with his armor; he put a bronze helmet on his head and clothed him with a coat of mail. 39David strapped Saul's sword over the armor, and he tried in vain to walk, for he was not used to them. Then David said to Saul, “I cannot walk with these; for I am not used to them.” So David removed them. 40Then he took his staff in his hand, and chose five smooth stones from the wadi, and put them in his shepherd's bag, in the pouch; his sling was in his hand, and he drew near to the Philistine. 41The Philistine came on and drew near to David, with his shield-bearer in front of him. 42When the Philistine looked and saw David, he disdained him, for he was only a youth, ruddy and handsome in appearance. 43The Philistine said to David, “Am I a dog, that you come to me with sticks?” And the Philistine cursed David by his gods. 44The Philistine said to David, “Come to me, and I will give your flesh to the birds of the air and to the wild animals of the field.”45But David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with sword and spear and javelin; but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46This very day the Lordwill deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you down and cut off your head; and I will give the dead bodies of the Philistine army this very day to the birds of the air and to the wild animals of the earth, so that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel, 47and that all this assembly may know that the Lord does not save by sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord's and he will give you into our hand.” 48When the Philistine drew nearer to meet David, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet the Philistine. 49David put his hand in his bag, took out a stone, slung it, and struck the Philistine on his forehead; the stone sank into his forehead, and he fell face down on the ground. or 57On David's return from killing the Philistine, Abner took him and brought him before Saul, with the head of the Philistine in his hand.58Saul said to him, “Whose son are you, young man?” And David answered, “I am the son of your servant Jesse the Bethlehemite.” 5When David had finished speaking to Saul, the soul of Jonathan was bound to the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.2Saul took him that day and would not let him return to his father's house. 3Then Jonathan made a covenant with David, because he loved him as his own soul. 4Jonathan stripped himself of the robe that he was wearing, and gave it to David, and his armor, and even his sword and his bow and his belt. 5David went out and was successful wherever Saul sent him; as a result, Saul set him over the army. And all the people, even the servants of Saul, approved. 10The next day an evil spirit from God rushed upon Saul, and he raved within his house, while David was playing the lyre, as he did day by day. Saul had his spear in his hand; 11and Saul threw the spear, for he thought, “I will pin David to the wall.” But David eluded him twice. 12Saul was afraid of David, because the Lord was with him but had departed from Saul. 13So Saul removed him from his presence, and made him a commander of a thousand; and David marched out and came in, leading the army. 14David had success in all his undertakings; for the Lord was with him. 15When Saul saw that he had great success, he stood in awe of him. 16But all Israel and Judah loved David; for it was he who marched out and came in leading them. Psalm: Psalm 9:9-20 or Psalm 133 9 The Lord will be a refuge for the oppressed, * a refuge in time of trouble. 10 Those who know your Name will put their trust in you, * for you never forsake those who seek you, O Lord. 11 Sing praise to the Lord who dwells in Zion; * proclaim to the peoples the things he has done. 12 The Avenger of blood will remember them; * he will not forget the cry of the afflicted. 13 Have pity on me, O Lord; * see the misery I suffer from those who hate me, O you who lift me up from the gate of death; 14 So that I may tell of all your praises and rejoice in your salvation * in the gates of the city of Zion. 15 The ungodly have fallen into the pit they dug, * and in the snare they set is their own foot caught. 16 The Lord is known by his acts of justice; * the wicked are trapped in the works of their own hands. 17 The wicked shall be given over to the grave, * and also all the peoples that forget God. 18 For the needy shall not always be forgotten, * and the hope of the poor shall not perish for ever. 19 Rise up, O Lord, let not the ungodly have the upper hand; * let them be judged before you. 20 Put fear upon them, O Lord; * let the ungodly know they are but mortal. or 1 Oh, how good and pleasant it is, * when brethren live together in unity! 2 It is like fine oil upon the head * that runs down upon the beard, 3 Upon the beard of Aaron, * and runs down upon the collar of his robe. 4 It is like the dew of Hermon * that falls upon the hills of Zion. 5 For there the Lord has ordained the blessing: * life for evermore. Old Testament: Job 38:1-11 1Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind: 2“Who is this that darkens counsel by words without knowledge? 3Gird up your loins like a man, I will question you, and you shall declare to me. 4“Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding. 5Who determined its measurements—surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? 6On what were its bases sunk, or who laid its cornerstone 7when the morning stars sang together and all the heavenly beings shouted for joy? 8“Or who shut in the sea with doors when it burst out from the womb?— 9when I made the clouds its garment, and thick darkness its swaddling band, 10and prescribed bounds for it, and set bars and doors, 11and said, ‘Thus far shall you come, and no farther, and here shall your proud waves be stopped'? Psalm: Psalm 107:1-3, 23-32 1 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, * and his mercy endures for ever. 2 Let all those whom the Lord has redeemed proclaim * that he redeemed them from the hand of the foe. 3 He gathered them out of the lands; * from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south. 23 Some went down to the sea in ships * and plied their trade in deep waters; 24 They beheld the works of the Lord * and his wonders in the deep. 25 Then he spoke, and a stormy wind arose, * which tossed high the waves of the sea. 26 They mounted up to the heavens and fell back to the depths; * their hearts melted because of their peril. 27 They reeled and staggered like drunkards * and were at their wits' end. 28 Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. 29 He stilled the storm to a whisper * and quieted the waves of the sea. 30 Then were they glad because of the calm, * and he brought them to the harbor they were bound for. 31 Let them give thanks to the Lord for his mercy * and the wonders he does for his children. 32 Let them exalt him in the congregation of the people * and praise him in the council of the elders. Epistle: 2 Corinthians 6:1-13 1As we work together with him, we urge you also not to accept the grace of God in vain. 2For he says, “At an acceptable time I have listened to you, and on a day of salvation I have helped you.” See, now is the acceptable time; see, now is the day of salvation! 3We are putting no obstacle in anyone's way, so that no fault may be found with our ministry,4but as servants of God we have commended ourselves in every way: through great endurance, in afflictions, hardships, calamities, 5beatings, imprisonments, riots, labors, sleepless nights, hunger; 6by purity, knowledge, patience, kindness, holiness of spirit, genuine love, 7truthful speech, and the power of God; with the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and for the left; 8in honor and dishonor, in ill repute and good repute. We are treated as impostors, and yet are true; 9as unknown, and yet are well known; as dying, and see—we are alive; as punished, and yet not killed; 10as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing everything. 11We have spoken frankly to you Corinthians; our heart is wide open to you. 12There is no restriction in our affections, but only in yours. 13In return—I speak as to children—open wide your hearts also. Gospel: Mark 4:35-41 35On that day, when evening had come, he said to them, “Let us go across to the other side.” 36And leaving the crowd behind, they took him with them in the boat, just as he was. Other boats were with him. 37A great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that the boat was already being swamped. 38But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion; and they woke him up and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?” 39He woke up and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” Then the wind ceased, and there was a dead calm. 40He said to them, “Why are you afraid? Have you still no faith?” 41And they were filled with great awe and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”
Read OnlineJesus summoned the Twelve and began to send them out two by two and gave them authority over unclean spirits. He instructed them to take nothing for the journey but a walking stick—no food, no sack, no money in their belts. They were, however, to wear sandals but not a second tunic. Mark 6:7–9If you felt called by God to go forth to another land to spread the Gospel message, you most likely would plan ahead and pack all that you needed for the journey. You would bring extra clothing, money, and various other provisions. But in the Gospel above, Jesus instructs the Twelve to go forth on a mission with nothing but a walking stick. He instructs them to rely upon divine providence for the physical necessities of daily living while on their journey. Though there was nothing wrong with planning ahead and taking care of their physical needs, Jesus' instruction was given to teach the Twelve a more important spiritual lesson. In their mission of preaching the Gospel, curing the sick and casting out demons, they had to learn to rely upon the power of God and not on their natural abilities. Therefore, by learning to rely upon providence for things like food, clothing and shelter, they were more prepared to also rely upon divine providence in their apostolic mission. As you ponder this passage, try to imagine what might have gone through the minds of the Twelve as they traveled. Imagine them walking for many miles and arriving at a town as the sun began to set. Since they had no money or food, they would have been tempted to fear and worry. They could not rent a room for the night. They could not buy anything to eat. This was a test of their trust in God.Imagine further that these same Apostles suddenly encountered God's providence. To their surprise, they were offered free lodging for the night and a meal. The next day, the same thing happened. As they trusted, journeyed, preached, healed and drove out demons, they found that they had what they needed every day and every night. This experience of God's providence would certainly have affected their personal faith. But it also would have affected their ministry. As they witnessed God providing for their physical needs, they would also have grown in their trust in grace to more fruitfully fulfill their mission.Just as the Twelve had to learn to rely upon the providence of God in all things, so God wants the same for you. He might not call you to go forth on a mission without any physical provisions, but He does want you to learn to trust Him always. Perhaps that means donating more than a tithe of your money to the poor or to the mission of the Church as a way of showing you trust God with your money. Perhaps it means buying less for yourself and learning to live more simply. Or perhaps it means taking a step in faith by speaking to a friend about the Gospel, engaging in an apostolic ministry at Church, or stepping out in faith in some other way while you learn to put your trust in God. Trust in God means you overcome fear and worry as you journey through life and fulfill the mission God has given to you. Reflect, today, upon the fact that God wants you to learn to trust Him in all things and to especially trust that He will use you to share the Gospel with others. If you find this fearful, that is a good interior discovery. It means that you have found the fear holding you back. Whatever that may be, step forward in faith and conquer that fear. God will provide for you, giving you what you need to wonderfully fulfill His divine mission in your life. My providential Lord, You always provide for us in every way. You know our every need and always meet those needs. Please help me to trust in You in every way and to learn to rely upon Your providential grace. Please use me as You will and work powerfully through me so that my life produces an abundance of good fruit for Your Kingdom. Jesus, I trust in You.Source of content: catholic-daily-reflections.comCopyright © 2024 My Catholic Life! Inc. All rights reserved. Alison Ver HalenCEO of AV Writing Services, LLC, which provides content marketing and SEO strategy and author of the book, Content Marketing Made Easy.I've always loved writing and wanted to be a novelist when I grew up, but my parents convinced me there was no money in that and urged me to choose a more "practical" career.I ended up majoring in English and Psychology, little knowing I was getting the perfect degree for content marketing. I didn't even know what content marketing was. I thought I wanted to work in publishing, figuring if I couldn't make a living writing books, maybe I could make a living publishing them.Unfortunately, I graduated in 2009, right after the job market crashed. There were no jobs to be had in publishing ... or really anywhere else. I was a receptionist and I worked in customer service, but they were jobs, not careers. When I found myself between jobs, my roommate's dad, who was an attorney, offered to give me things to do around his office until I got back on my feet. One of the things he needed was someone to write blog posts for his law firm. He knew I had a strong writing background, so he offered me the gig, and I was more than happy to get paid to write. After six months, he told me I had brought in $75,000 worth of business for his law firm, just from the blog posts I was writing for him. After a while, I started writing for an associate of his, and then for some friends of mine. I did get another day job, but I kept writing on the side, and my client list kept growing until I knew I couldn't do both any more, so I quit the day job to devote myself to writing full time, and I've never looked back. You can find more information on how to create a powerhouse content marketing strategy on my blog: https://avwritingservices.com/blog/ and in my book, Content Marketing Made Easy, which you can buy here: https://www.amazon.com/Content-Marketing-Made-Alison-Halen-ebook/dp/B09YL7K6XY/ref=sr_1_9If you're interested in taking this conversation further, you can use this link to schedule a time to chat with me 1:1: https://alisonverhalen.as.me/The Doctor offers a complimentary strategy, coaching, or consulting session.Support The Doctor of Digital Communityhttps://swellai.com/?via=mick-the-doctor-of-digitalOn Track Ian Hunterhttps://www.amazon.com/dp/1789523044?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_dp_WOLGDN9AD6UWV1H4EG8OBurning America: In the Best Interest of the Children?Mick, The Doctor of Digital, Smith mick.smith@wsiworld.comBurning America: In the Best Interest of the Children?https://burning-america.comAmazon: https://www.amazon.com/G-Mick-Smith/e/B0B59X5R79Also at Barnes & Noble, Walmart, and TargetLeave a message for The Doctor of Digital:https://podinbox.com/thedoctorofdigitalpodcastInstagram: burningamericacommunityPatreon burningamericacommunity:https://www.patreon.com/SmithConsultingWSITheDoctorofDigitalPodcastListen, subscribe, share, and positively review The Aftermath:https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-aftermath-the-epidemic-of-divorce-custody-and-healing/id1647001828Substack:https://micksmith.substack.com/Commercials Voice Talent ||https://www.spreaker.com/user/7768747/track-1-commercialsNarratives Voice Talenthttps://www.spreaker.com/user/7768747/track-2-narrativesDo you want a free competitive analysis for your business?https://marketing.wsiworld.com/free-competitive-analysis?utm_campaign=Mick_Smith_Podcast&utm_source=SpreakerMake an Appointment:https://www.picktime.com/TheDoctorOfDigitalBe sure to subscribe, like, & review The Doctor of Digital™ PodcastSign up for the Doctor Up Your Life courseFacebook || Instagram || Twitter || LinkedIn || YouTubehttps://www.linkedin.com/in/g-mick-smith-24495127Thanks to Feedspot as a sponsor naming The Doctor of Digital Podcast a Top Three Podcast!Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-doctor-of-digital-gmick-smith-phd--1279468/support.
Seventh Sunday of Easter The Collect: O God, the King of glory, you have exalted your only Son Jesus Christ with great triumph to your kingdom in heaven: Do not leave us comfortless, but send us your Holy Spirit to strengthen us, and exalt us to that place where our Savior Christ has gone before; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, in glory everlasting. Amen. First Lesson: Acts 1:15-17, 21-26 15In those days Peter stood up among the believers (together the crowd numbered about one hundred twenty persons) and said, 16“Friends, the scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit through David foretold concerning Judas, who became a guide for those who arrested Jesus—17for he was numbered among us and was allotted his share in this ministry.” 21So one of the men who have accompanied us during all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us, 22beginning from the baptism of John until the day when he was taken up from us—one of these must become a witness with us to his resurrection.” 23So they proposed two, Joseph called Barsabbas, who was also known as Justus, and Matthias. 24Then they prayed and said, “Lord, you know everyone's heart. Show us which one of these two you have chosen 25to take the place in this ministry and apostleship from which Judas turned aside to go to his own place.” 26And they cast lots for them, and the lot fell on Matthias; and he was added to the eleven apostles. Psalm: Psalm 1 1 Happy are they who have not walked in the counsel of the wicked, * nor lingered in the way of sinners, nor sat in the seats of the scornful! 2 Their delight is in the law of the Lord, * and they meditate on his law day and night. 3 They are like trees planted by streams of water, bearing fruit in due season, with leaves that do not wither; * everything they do shall prosper. 4 It is not so with the wicked; * they are like chaff which the wind blows away. 5 Therefore the wicked shall not stand upright when judgment comes, * nor the sinner in the council of the righteous. 6 For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, * but the way of the wicked is doomed. Epistle: 1 John 5:9-13 9If we receive human testimony, the testimony of God is greater; for this is the testimony of God that he has testified to his Son. 10Those who believe in the Son of God have the testimony in their hearts. Those who do not believe in God have made him a liar by not believing in the testimony that God has given concerning his Son. 11And this is the testimony: God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life. Gospel: John 17:6-19 6”I have made your name known to those whom you gave me from the world. They were yours, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word. 7Now they know that everything you have given me is from you; 8for the words that you gave to me I have given to them, and they have received them and know in truth that I came from you; and they have believed that you sent me. 9I am asking on their behalf; I am not asking on behalf of the world, but on behalf of those whom you gave me, because they are yours. 10All mine are yours, and yours are mine; and I have been glorified in them. 11And now I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them in your name that you have given me, so that they may be one, as we are one. 12While I was with them, I protected them in your name that you have given me. I guarded them, and not one of them was lost except the one destined to be lost, so that the scripture might be fulfilled. 13But now I am coming to you, and I speak these things in the world so that they may have my joy made complete in themselves. 14I have given them your word, and the world has hated them because they do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world. 15I am not asking you to take them out of the world, but I ask you to protect them from the evil one. 16They do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world. 17Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth. 18As you have sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. 19And for their sakes I sanctify myself, so that they also may be sanctified in truth.
Jonathan Defeats the Philistines 14One day Jonathan the son of Saul said to the young man who carried his armor, Come, let us go over to the Philistine garrison on the other side. But he did not tell his father.2Saul was staying in the outskirts of Gibeah in the pomegranate cave[a]atMigron. The people who were with him were aboutsix hundred men,3includingAhijah the son of Ahitub,Ichabod's brother, son of Phinehas, son of Eli, the priest of theLordin Shiloh, wearing an ephod. And the people did not know that Jonathan had gone.4Withinthe passes, by which Jonathan sought to go over to the Philistine garrison, there was a rocky crag on the one side and a rocky crag on the other side. The name of the one was Bozez, and the name of the other Seneh.5The one crag rose on the north in front of Michmash, and the other on the south in front ofGeba. 6Jonathan said to the young man who carried his armor, Come, let us go over to the garrison of theseuncircumcised. It may be that theLordwill work for us,for nothing can hinder theLordfrom saving by many or by few.7And his armor-bearer said to him, Do all that is in your heart. Do as you wish.[b]Behold, I am with you heart and soul.8Then Jonathan said, Behold, we will cross over to the men, and we will show ourselves to them.9If they say to us, Wait until we come to you, then we will stand still in our place, and we will not go up to them.10But if they say, Come up to us, then we will go up, for theLordhas given them into our hand. And this shall be the sign to us.11So both of them showed themselves to the garrison of the Philistines. And the Philistines said, Look, Hebrews are comingout of the holes where they have hidden themselves.12And the men of the garrison hailed Jonathan and his armor-bearer and said, Come up to us, and we will show you a thing. And Jonathan said to his armor-bearer, Come up after me, for theLordhas given them into the hand of Israel.13Then Jonathan climbed up on his hands and feet, and his armor-bearer after him. And they fell before Jonathan, and his armor-bearer killed them after him.14And that first strike, which Jonathan and his armor-bearer made, killed about twenty men within as it were half a furrow's length in an acre[c]of land.15And there was a panic in the camp, in the field, and among all the people. The garrison and eventhe raiders trembled, the earth quaked, and it became a very great panic.[d] 16And the watchmen of Saul in Gibeah of Benjamin looked, and behold, the multitudewas dispersing here and there.[e]17Then Saul said to the people who were with him, Count and see who has gone from us. And when they had counted, behold, Jonathan and his armor-bearer were not there.18So Saul said to Ahijah, Bring the ark of God here. For the ark of God went at that time with the people[f]of Israel.19Nowwhile Saul was talking to the priest, the tumult in the camp of the Philistines increased more and more. So Saul said to the priest, Withdraw your hand.20Then Saul and all the people who were with him rallied and went into the battle. And behold, every Philistine's sword was against his fellow, and there was very great confusion.21Now the Hebrews who had been with the Philistines before that time and who had gone up with them into the camp, even they also turned to be with the Israelites who were with Saul and Jonathan.22Likewise, when all the men of Israelwho had hidden themselvesin the hill country of Ephraim heard that the Philistines were fleeing, they too followed hard after them in the battle.23So theLordsaved Israel that day. And the battle passed beyondBeth-aven. Saul's Rash Vow 24And the men of Israel had been hard pressed that day,so Saul had laid an oath on the people, saying, Cursed be the man who eats food until it is evening and I am avenged on my enemies. So none of the people had tasted food.25Now when all the people[g]came to the forest, behold, there was honey on the ground.26And when the people entered the forest, behold, the honey was dropping, but no one put his hand to his mouth, for the people feared the oath.27But Jonathan had not heard his father charge the people with the oath,so he put out the tip of the staff that was in his hand and dipped it in the honeycomb and put his hand to his mouth, and his eyes became bright.28Then one of the people said, Your father strictly charged the people with an oath, saying, Cursed be the man who eats food this day. And the people werefaint.29Then Jonathan said, My father has troubled the land. See how my eyes have become bright because I tasted a little of this honey.30How much better if the people had eaten freely today of the spoil of their enemies that they found. For now the defeat among the Philistines has not been great. 31They struck down the Philistines that day fromMichmash toAijalon. And the people were veryfaint.32The peoplepounced on the spoil and took sheep and oxen and calves and slaughtered them on the ground. And the people ate themwith the blood.33Then they told Saul, Behold, the people are sinning against theLordby eatingwith the blood. And he said, You have dealt treacherously; roll a great stone to me here.[h]34And Saul said, Disperse yourselves among the people and say to them, Let every man bring his ox or his sheep and slaughter them here and eat, and do not sin against theLordby eating with the blood. So every one of the people brought his ox with him that night and they slaughtered them there.35And Saulbuilt an altar to theLord; it was the first altar that he built to theLord. 36Then Saul said, Let us go down after the Philistines by night and plunder them until the morning light; let us not leave a man of them. And they said, Do whatever seems good to you. Butthe priest said, Let us draw near to God here.37And Saul inquired of God, Shall I go down after the Philistines? Will you give them into the hand of Israel? But he did not answer him that day.38And Saul said, Come here, all you leaders of the people, and know and see how this sin has arisen today.39Foras theLordlives who saves Israel, though it be in Jonathan my son, he shall surely die. But there was not a man among all the people who answered him.40Then he said to all Israel, You shall be on one side, and I and Jonathan my son will be on the other side. And the people said to Saul, Do what seems good to you.41Therefore Saul said, OLordGod of Israel, why have you not answered your servant this day? If this guilt is in me or in Jonathan my son, OLord, God of Israel, give Urim. But if this guilt is in your people Israel, give Thummim.[i]And Jonathan and Saul were taken, but the people escaped.42Then Saul said,Cast the lot between me and my son Jonathan. And Jonathan was taken. 43Then Saul said to Jonathan,Tell me what you have done. And Jonathan told him,I tasted a little honey with the tip of the staff that was in my hand. Here I am; I will die.44And Saul said,God do so to me and more also;you shall surely die, Jonathan.45Then the people said to Saul, Shall Jonathan die, who has worked this great salvation in Israel? Far from it!As theLordlives, there shall not one hair of his head fall to the ground, for he has worked with God this day. So the people ransomed Jonathan, so that he did not die.46Then Saul went up from pursuing the Philistines, and the Philistines went to their own place. Saul Fights Israel's Enemies 47When Saul had taken the kingship over Israel, he fought against all his enemies on every side, against Moab, against the Ammonites, against Edom, against the kings ofZobah, and against the Philistines. Wherever he turned he routed them.48And he did valiantlyand struck the Amalekites and delivered Israel out of the hands of those who plundered them. 49Now the sons of Saul were Jonathan, Ishvi, and Malchi-shua. And the names of his two daughters were these: the name of the firstborn wasMerab, and the name of the younger Michal.50And the name of Saul's wife was Ahinoam the daughter of Ahimaaz. And the name of the commander of his army was Abner the son of Ner,Saul's uncle.51Kish was the father of Saul, and Ner the father of Abner was the son ofAbiel. 52There was hard fighting against the Philistines all the days of Saul. And when Saul saw any strong man, or any valiant man,he attached him to himself.

In this series, we're talking about things that aren't easy, but they're simple. Pastor Jamie Nunnally shares that it is not easy to walk in forgiveness, but it's simple. There are three types of forgiveness God is calling us to experience:1. Receiving God's forgiveness2. Forgiving ourselves3. Forgiving others We must receive God's forgiveness.1 John 1:9 God is more willing to forgive our sin than we are sometimes willing to admit our sin. God wants you to admit your sin because you can't be released from what you don't recognize.Ephesians 1:7 "He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins." SO RICH!If someone isn't forgiven, its not because God won't forgive them, but because they won't receive it. Isaiah 43:25 "I—yes, I alone—will blot out your sins for my own sake and will never think of them again."How often do you think about a bill you've already paid? You don't. That's how often God thinks about your forgiven sin: He doesn't. Feeling guilty doesn't make you a good person. We must forgive ourselves. We can only give what we have, so before we forgive others, we must forgive ourselves.2 Peter 1:8-9If you believe you're still a sinner, you will act like a sinner. If you believe you're forgiven, you will act like you're forgiven. Romans 8:1 "So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus." We must forgive others.Matthew 6:14-15 "If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. 15 But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins."Forgiveness is a two-sided coin. God can't redeem it until you release it. Forgiving others is not:1. Denying what happened. The only people that won't like you having boundaries in your life are the people that have something to gain from you having none.2. Excusing sin. 3. Shielding someone from consequences. 4. A guarantee that someone will change. If you need someone else to change in order for you to be OK, you are their prisoner. Forgiveness is simply saying "I know a better judge than me and I am going to let Him handle this." Forgiveness is saying "I know unforgiveness is poison and I refuse to ingest it." How to forgive others: Make the choice & engage the process. You can't be married without a wedding but having a wedding doesn't mean you stay married.Matthew 18:21-22 "Then Peter came to Him and said, "Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?" Jesus said to him, "I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven."Forgiveness is not just a point in time action; It's a life-long decision. Have you received God's forgiveness?Have you forgiven yourself? Are you forgiving others?

1After thisthe Moabites and Ammonites, and with them some of the Meunites,[a]came against Jehoshaphat for battle.2Some men came and told Jehoshaphat, A great multitude is coming against you from Edom,[b]from beyond the sea; and, behold, they are inHazazon-tamar (that is,Engedi).3Then Jehoshaphat was afraid and set his faceto seek theLord, andproclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.4And Judah assembled to seek help from theLord; from all the cities of Judah they came to seek theLord. 5And Jehoshaphat stood in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of theLord, before the new court,6and said, OLord, God of our fathers, are you notGod in heaven? Yourule over all the kingdoms of the nations. In your hand are power and might, so that none is able to withstand you.7Did you not, our God,drive out the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel, and give it forever to the descendants ofAbraham your friend?8And they have lived in it and have built for you in it a sanctuary for your name, saying,9If disaster comes upon us, the sword, judgment,[c]or pestilence, or famine,we will stand before this house and before youfor your name is in this houseand cry out to you in our affliction, and you will hear and save.10And now behold, the men ofAmmon and Moab andMount Seir, whomyou would not let Israel invade when they came from the land of Egypt, and whom they avoided and did not destroy11behold, they reward usby coming to drive us out of your possession, which you have given us to inherit.12O our God, will you notexecute judgment on them? For we are powerless against this great horde that is coming against us. We do not know what to do, butour eyes are on you. 13Meanwhile all Judah stood before theLord, with their little ones, their wives, and their children.14Andthe Spirit of theLordcame[d]upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, son of Benaiah, son of Jeiel, son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, in the midst of the assembly.15And he said, Listen, all Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem and King Jehoshaphat: Thus says theLordto you,Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed at this great horde, for the battle is not yours but God's.16Tomorrow go down against them. Behold, they will come up by the ascent of Ziz. You will find them at the end ofthe valley, east of the wilderness of Jeruel.17You will not need to fight in this battle. Stand firm, hold your position, and see the salvation of theLordon your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem.Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed. Tomorrow go out against them, and theLordwill be with you. 18Then Jehoshaphatbowed his head with his face to the ground, and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell down before theLord, worshiping theLord.19And the Levites, of theKohathites and theKorahites, stood up to praise theLord, the God of Israel, with a very loud voice. 20And they rose early in the morning and went out intothe wilderness of Tekoa. And when they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem!Believe in theLordyour God, and you will be established; believe his prophets, and you will succeed.21And when he had taken counsel with the people, he appointed those who were to sing to theLordand praise himin holy attire, as they went before the army, and say, Give thanks to theLord, for his steadfast love endures forever. 22And when they began to sing and praise, theLordsetan ambush against the men ofAmmon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah, so that they were routed.23For the men of Ammon and Moab rose against the inhabitants of Mount Seir, devoting them to destruction, and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, they all helped to destroy one another. 24When Judah came to the watchtower of the wilderness, they looked toward the horde, and behold, there[e]were dead bodies lying on the ground; none had escaped.25When Jehoshaphat and his people came to take their spoil, they found among them, in great numbers, goods, clothing, and precious things, which they took for themselves until they could carry no more. They were three days in taking the spoil, it was so much.26On the fourth day they assembled in the Valley of Beracah,[f]for there they blessed theLord. Therefore the name of that place has been called the Valley of Beracah to this day.27Then they returned, every man of Judah and Jerusalem, and Jehoshaphat at their head, returning to Jerusalem with joy,for theLordhad made them rejoice over their enemies.28They came to Jerusalem with harps and lyres and trumpets, to the house of theLord.29And the fear of God came on all the kingdoms of the countries when they heard that theLordhad fought against the enemies of Israel.30So the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet, for his God gave him rest all around.

Prophet, Priest, and King, Isaiah 61:1-4; 1 Peter 2:9If you get Jesus right, you get everything else right. If you get Jesus wrong… it doesn't matter what else you get right.Yesterday we reviewed Isaiah 61:1-4 to capture a snippet of how Jesus' life and ministry are described. Since we are the body of Christ, he equips us to fulfill his earthly ministry as a representation of him. So, it is useful for us to pause occasionally and consider how God has made us and for what purpose in the body. The passage in Isaiah can be summarized as three facets of Jesus' ministry: Prophet (v. 1), Priest (vv. 2-3), and King (v. 4). Jesus perfectly fulfills all three in one. We each serve as members of His body, and we typically favor one of the three. Like a diamond, we are crafted and chiseled in specific ways that God's light might reflect from within us.Why is this important? To know what we carry so we will faithfully bring it to the others and the world. Also to help us appreciate the body of Christ (i.e., empowering each other's uniqueness). The Prophet: Brings God's truth to people; disrupts and brings hope; provokes repentance and ponders the heart. The temptation of the flesh is to communicate truth without grace; be critical of those with a different gift set; exaggerate truth for personal gain. The Priest Brings people to God's truth; comforts and invites the forgiven to celebrate; Ps. 34:18. The temptation of the flesh is to value feelings and emotions over truth; being afraid to tell the truth. The King: Brings God's rule to people; brings wisdom and protection; order and flow; expert in pragmatics. The temptation of the flesh is to micromanage; lack grace when things fall apart; only see what needs to be fixed and not appreciate what's working.

In this episode we provide an alternative to rewriting a codebase from scratch: iteratively replacing bits of functionality over time. We share four reasons why iterative replacement is better:- you get value sooner (every release)- improvements are locked in. They don't disappear if the project goes on hold or canceled- you're solving problems today, not imagining how you solve them tomorrow- customers are buying what you're selling today, not what you will be selling next yearShow notes:Studies related to frequency and size of commits that Jeffrey mentioned:https://www.diva-portal.org/smash/get/diva2:1381601/FULLTEXT02https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10664-022-10257-9If you'd like to be a guest on our podcast, apply here: https://forms.gle/kTAdW3dMuwJdzBgo6More contact information can be found at https://neverrewrite.com.

Nov 6, 2022Malachi 3:6-12Why Conditional Living Will Never Satisfy You1. God is patient, v. 62. God is covenantal not conditional, v. 7b-9If you are married to someone who is conditional not covenantal three things happen in your marriage…a) rarely feel heard or understood in an argument, much less validatedb) rarely feel closure after an argument because they are never wrongc) you will come to believe that for this to work you have to compromise“By the curse you are being cursed, yet me you are robbing.” To anyone who believes tithing is an OT concept and no longer applicable I would say two things…a) grace makes you capable of more“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.' But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” -Matthew 5:27-28b) Jesus indicates tithing continued into the New Testament “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness. These you ought to have done, without neglecting the others. You blind guides, straining out a gnat and swallowing a camel!” -Matthew 23:23-243. God is invitational, v. 10“Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need. I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it will not destroy the fruits of your soil, and your vine in the field shall not fail to bear, says the Lord of hosts. Then all nations will call you blessed, for you will be a land of delight, says the Lord of hosts.” -Malachi 3:10-12Mental worship…1. What are some of the generational sins that you want to end with you and not be passed on to your children? 2. Is your life one of stewardship or ownership? 3. Are you covenantal or conditional in the way you relate to God? Why do you think you are that way?4. What is God inviting you to this morning?

“And I tell you, ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” Luke 11:9If we were to take this statement of Jesus in a very literal way we could easily conclude that Jesus will give us anything we ask for in a prayerful way. But we know this is not what happens. Perhaps everyone has prayed hard for this or that and the request was not answered in the way we wanted. Why is that? Did we simply fail to pray with faith? Will Jesus do whatever we ask of Him when we pray for it with all our might? Certainly not. This passage goes on to say, “If you then, who are wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?” (Luke 11:13). Within this context, and within the context of everything that Jesus has taught us, it's important to know that there is one thing and one thing only for which we ought to pray. And when we pray for this one thing, we can be assured of obtaining it when we pray for it in faith. What is that one thing? It's the will of God.If we sincerely and wholeheartedly ask for and seek the will of God, we can be certain that our Lord will give us the Holy Spirit and that the Holy Spirit will, in turn, lead us into the will of God for our lives. The problem is that too often we end up praying that “MY will be done” rather than “THY will be done.” This is an important difference.True prayer is ultimately about trust and surrender to God. We trust in His perfect plan and surrender to that perfect plan in our lives. When we do this, we can be assured that the Lord will hear and answer this perfect prayer.Reflect, today, upon that simple prayer in the Lord's Prayer: Thy will be done! Strive to trust in God's perfect plan for your life and do all you can to surrender to it. With this form of prayer we can be assured that the Holy Spirit will come to us, leading us into His holy will. Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Jesus, I trust in You.Source of content: catholic-daily-reflections.comCopyright © 2022 My Catholic Life! Inc. All rights reserved. Used with permission via RSS feed.

Cut it down. It's just taking up space in the garden.' 8 “The gardener answered, ‘Sir, give it one more chance. Leave it another year, and I'll give it special attention and plenty of fertilizer. 9If we get figs next year, fine. If not, then you can cut it down.'” CONNECT Connect with us!
