DA Angel Myers McIlrath has subpoena power. She could have compelled Nolan Wells' phone the day after July 15, when her office and the family agreed to a joint forensic examination. She didn't. A month passed with no date set and no forensic protocol drafted. Then on August 12, her office sent the family a letter with a 44-hour deadline to deliver the phone to her office, not the community college lab both sides had agreed on. Nolan's parents were in Atlanta at the time. They weren't scheduled to return before the deadline. The family's attorneys called the timeline bad faith and fired back: pick any day between August 18 and 21, we're ready, our experts are on standby. On August 19, McIlrath released a public statement saying she doesn't have the freedom to share information the way private individuals can. She said public commentary doesn't make the speaker transparent and that things said in public aren't necessarily true. She said filling the information void would only take pressure off her and that Nolan deserves better. The DA who said Nolan deserves better hasn't compelled the phone that could give him answers. She has the authority. She drafted the weakest possible demand, sent it while the family was out of state, and then asked the public for patience. Six weeks after his body was found, the most important piece of evidence in this case hasn't been examined.Listen Anywhere You Get Podcasts: https://pod.link/1655749292Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? I'm finally baaaaaaack! And this one's JUICY.
Lindsay Clancy, 34, of Duxbury, Massachusetts, faces three counts of murder and three counts of strangulation, accused of killing her three children — 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 7-month-old Callan — with exercise resistance bands inside the family's Summer Street home on January 24, 2023. She's pleaded not guilty. Defense attorney Kevin Reddington is arguing insanity, pointing to severe postpartum psychosis and psychiatric overmedication. The most compelling witness on the stand this week wasn't a person — it was a wearable device.Digital evidence examiner Ian Whiffin testified that he built his own custom tools to extract, filter, and search data pulled from Clancy's iPhone and Apple Watch, explaining that firmware and software changes can complicate what investigators are able to recover from a device. What he recovered included heart rate readings ranging from 50 to 122 beats per minute on the day of the killings, with logging stopping at 5:23 p.m. He also detailed "flight climb" data captured on both devices — timestamps that don't match, raising the possibility of duplicated entries — alongside search history covering postpartum psychosis symptoms and depression medication.Cross-examination chipped away at the certainty. Whiffin acknowledged Apple Health data can be inaccurate and confirmed no further activity was logged after 5:38 p.m. Reddington then pressed him on device activity recorded January 25th — a day Clancy spent unconscious in the hospital following her alleged suicide attempt. On redirect, Whiffin explained the activity could have originated from either device, that watch data can only be pulled through the synced phone, and that police handling of either device would itself generate a record.Clancy is now paralyzed from the waist down after allegedly jumping from a second-story window. Her husband, Patrick Clancy, was running errands at the time and has since relocated to Manhattan. The trial continues in Plymouth Superior Court.LinksJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? In 1980, Vancouver Island mechanic Granger Taylor left his family a note saying he was leaving on a 42-month journey aboard an alien spacecraft. He then disappeared into a stormy night—along with his truck. This episode explores Taylor's remarkable mechanical talent, the homemade flying saucer he built in his family's yard, the note that made his disappearance legendary, and the evidence discovered years later at a nearby blast site. Paul and Michelle examine the difference between the documented record and the mythology surrounding the case, while remembering Granger as more than a UFO mystery: a gifted, complicated, and deeply human person. Hour 1 (8.14) Shadow found company four days after Jackie died. KD-1 is 4½, banded, and she's already rearranging Jackie's sticks. Conway can't quit Jackie! Jackie died on August 10 after nearly a month of intensive care at the Ojai Raptor Center, following her rescue near Big Bear Lake. Shadow's last nest visit had been July 23 — then on August 10, hours after her death was announced, a young, banded eagle called KD-1 turned up at the nest. She hatched in the Prado Basin in 2022, about 70 miles from Big Bear, and biologists say she's just about old enough to mate. We get into it, plus the LAX train that finally has a date. When Canadian First World War soldier Pvt. Albert Detmold was killed by German shelling on Aug. 15, 1917, while digging communication trenches on the front lines in northern France, he could never have imagined that more than a century later, both a Chabad rabbi from Toronto and a Ukrainian Catholic priest from Saskatoon would preside over his formal military burial. Detmold's remains were discovered by construction workers in a field near the French city of Lens in the summer of 2020. They'd lain there for over 100 years, sharing the fate of many hundreds of his comrades who lost their lives in the Battle for Hill 70, after Vimy Ridge. While Detmold's name was later engraved on the Vimy Ridge Memorial as missing with no known grave, in late 2025, DNA testing and historical sleuthing allowed Canada's Department of National Defence to make a positive ID. Arrangements were soon put in place to mount a formal reburial ceremony on July 9, in France, Detmold's actual birth date. He was born into a prominent European Jewish family before coming to Canada, so inquiries were made about the possibility of having a Star of David engraved on Detmold's gravestone. But officials ultimately decided to bury him under a cross, as the soldier had enlisted as a Presbyterian. Detmold's great-niece, Liana Walters, of Tees, Alta., traveled to France to represent the family at the service, and told The CJN she “would have liked to have seen the Star of David on the tombstone as well.” On today's episode of The CJN's North Star podcast, host Ellin Bessner speaks with chaplain Maj. (Rabbi) Arnold Noteh Glogauer, of Thornhill, Ont., who recently returned from officiating at the burial, and with Walters, the great-niece, about their surprisingly emotional farewell for the long-lost soldier. Duane "Keffe D" Davis is heading to trial in Las Vegas on a murder charge connected to the 1996 shooting death of Tupac Shakur. He is the only person ever charged in the case. He has pleaded not guilty. The prosecution's evidence centers on statements Davis made over more than a decade — to police in a 2008 proffer session, on BET's "Death Row Chronicles" documentary, and in his 2019 book "Compton Street Legend." In each account, Davis placed himself in a white Cadillac alongside his nephew Orlando Anderson, whom he identified as the shooter.Davis's defense argues the 2008 statements were made under a promise of immunity connected to the LAPD's investigation into the Biggie Smalls case. Prosecutors contend Davis voided that protection by voluntarily repeating the same confessions in public forums for the next fifteen years. The case is nearly thirty years old. Anderson was killed in 1998. The weapon has never been recovered. Many potential witnesses have died. The jury pool will include people who were children — or not yet born — when the shooting happened.Defense attorney and former prosecutor Eric Faddis assesses the strengths and weaknesses of a prosecution built almost entirely on the defendant's own words, and what happens when a cold case this famous finally meets a jury.END_LINKSJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph all lived very different lives. Yet they shared one defining characteristic. They trusted God enough to wait. They obeyed when they didn't know where. - They trusted when they didn't know how. - They persevered when they didn't know when. - They surrendered when they didn't know why. And because they did, they left a legacy that continues to encourage believers thousands of years later. The question for us is no longer what Abraham did. The question is: What kind of faith will characterize our lives while we wait on God's promises?

The Netflix premiere date was public two weeks before Bryan Kohberger said anything, and he spoke on the Sunday night right before it. That sequence is where this conversation starts.Tony Brueski and psychotherapist Shavaun Scott get into the audience management underneath the Idaho student murders reversal, rather than the legal filing everybody else is parsing. Here is the sequence. Sunday night, a statement to the New York Times. Monday, a self-filed petition for post-conviction relief in Ada County District Court. Wednesday, a three-part documentary built by director Skye Borgman specifically to return the focus to Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin. One of those three things was not on his calendar by accident. The conversation goes into whether someone in his position is even capable of letting a spotlight pass, what he gains from the people thanking him back, and the two historical cases that make this look less like a modern media problem and more like a permanent feature of the type. Holmes selling a hundred deaths and then unselling them. Lucas confessing his way to steak dinners and day trips, and recanting the second the attention stopped. The Goncalves family compared him to a mosquito nobody can quite swat, and said that if a fraction of the energy spent trying to free a guilty man went toward honoring the four who died, there would be statues on every corner. There is also the family he thanked for never wavering in their belief in who he is. That is a different audience from the strangers analyzing the case online, and Scott separates the two, because what a person draws from each is not the same. One sustains a story. The other supplies a stage.Watch the full conversation, and follow Hidden Killers Live for more.LINKSJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Have you ever asked God "How are You going to...?" Or, "When are you going to...?" Faith is about more than trusting God for the "What." Faith also waits for the "how" and "when." Abraham didn't know how God would fulfill the promise of giving him a son, but He trusted that He would. And Abraham didn't receive in his lifetime the fulfilment of every promise God made to Him. But, he trusted God for His timing on when to fulfill His promises. Abraham and Sarah teach us what it means to wait by faith when you don't how God will fulfill His promises or when He will fulfill His promises.
Lindsay Clancy's last voluntary act before her three children died was checking herself into a psychiatric hospital on New Year's Eve. The complaint filed against her providers says she waited three days for a doctor who never came, was discharged with a clear bill, and went home to a house full of children and prescriptions and no diagnosis.Wrapped around four clips from ADA Shanan Buckingham's opening statement at Plymouth Superior Court, this breakdown goes through the state's case as she presented it to twelve women and six men.The premeditation argument runs on timing — a restaurant five miles out, a pharmacy stop, a fourteen-second phone call. Underneath it is the premise that organization proves sanity. The research on postpartum psychosis says close to the reverse, and this episode puts the claim against what the literature actually documents about command hallucinations and functioning during psychosis. The Massachusetts legal standard gets covered in full — the two-door test most coverage is misstating, and the burden that stays with the prosecution on both. Then the provider record from the civil complaints, line by line against the state's characterization. A woman the prosecution says manipulated her doctors and a husband who testified she begged them for help. And a final appointment the day before that the state's opening never goes near.END_LINKSJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Hidden Killers With Tony Brueski | True Crime News & Commentary
Nolan Wells was last seen on Horn Island on the Fourth of July. Help wasn't requested for roughly thirteen hours. Nolan was eighteen, a wide receiver at Southwest Mississippi Community College, out on the island with friends from Ocean Springs. Horn Island sits about ten miles off the Mississippi coast, uninhabited, no buildings, no fresh water, no service. On the holiday it's packed with boats until dark, and then every one of those boats turns back toward the mainland. His friends made it home. He didn't. A National Park Service ranger found his body in the water off the island's northwestern tip two mornings later, on July 6. Investigators say they believe Nolan drowned, but they've also said they're still working to determine exactly what happened out there in those missing hours. A friend has said he called the Coast Guard that night, and that Nolan's mother, Christine Wonsley, called the sheriff's office shortly after. What isn't clear is why so much time passed between the moment Nolan was last seen and the moment anyone outside that group of friends knew he was missing. The sheriff's office said early on there was no foul play, a line that landed before the public had any real answers to weigh it against. His cause and manner of death haven't been released. Some witnesses have reportedly been too scared to talk about what actually happened on that island. Attorney Ben Crump is now running an independent investigation for the family, and the district attorney says the case is headed to a grand jury. Thirteen hours is a long time to be missing on an island with no way to call for help. It's an even longer time for a mother to wait for answers she still doesn't have. But then he remembered something that instantly turned a normal explanation into something impossible. The doors were still locked from the inside. Moments later, the footsteps started down toward the basement... and whatever made them wasn't finished with him yet. Some nights, logic disappears long before the lights do.#RealGhostStories #ShadowFigure #HauntedHouse #Paranormal #TrueGhostStory #GhostEncounter #SleepTerror #Unexplained #ScaryStory Love real ghost stories? Faith waits because faith trusts that God always keeps His promises—even when His timing doesn't match ours. Waiting is not the absence of faith. Patiently waiting is often the greatest evidence of faith. - The world says, “Seeing is believing.” The Christian says, “Believing enables me to keep trusting even when I cannot yet see.”In this lesson we explore how faith trust God even when it doesn't know where God is calling us to.

'I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.' Waiting on the Lord is not idleness — the man who waits is the man who cries out to God while he works, and keeps on crying out. He heard the cry, brought him up out of the horrible pit, set his feet upon a rock, and established his goings.

I was thrilled when my friend Kelsey Dundon who writes The Waited invited me onto her podcast to chat about our shared love of bringing people together and how (and why) we started our respective book clubs. Immediate yes!The loneliness epidemic and lack of connection generally speaking is something that regularly bums me out. I spend a lot of time thinking about how we used to move around as a village, and now it feels like a silo. I've also spent plenty of time on the internet (and off), thinking about influencers and our parasocial relationship to them. Does having these parasocial relationships substitute for our real life friends and family at times? How much online connection is taking up the bandwidth for actual, real life community? These are BIG questions. If you too have pondered the state of where this is all headed (especially with AI!), and want to build more irl connections, this podcast episode is for you. And as a very type B person who lives by the rule, ‘good enough!,' I'm here to tell you that you don't need perfect tablescapes and dreamy pinterest fueled aesthetics to host your very own book club (or any club for that matter).Follow Kelsey Dundon:Watch our episode on YouTube On Substack: The Waited, which is all about creativity amidst chaos and Kelsey DundonOn Instagram: @KelseyDundonIf you enjoy the podcast, you will most definitely love my Substack 'we need to unpack this'. When her father was diagnosed with terminal cancer, she already knew their time together was running short. What she didn't expect was the visitor she encountered one night standing quietly outside his bedroom door.It wasn't frightening. It wasn't threatening. In fact, what she felt most was sadness—and the unmistakable sense that whoever, or whatever, was standing in the hallway had arrived for a reason. Two weeks later, her father was gone.Years later, she still wonders whether she encountered something few people ever get to see: a messenger arriving before the final goodbye#AngelOfDeath #ParanormalExperience #Afterlife #GhostStory #SpiritualEncounter #LifeAfterDeath #ParanormalPodcast #TrueGhostStories #UnexplainedEncounters #SupernaturalStory Love real ghost stories? If you've ever wondered how one family turned six deaths and a murder into a story of survival, episode 442 of Grief and Happiness is for you. Author Phyllis Karas shares the story behind her memoir Curse of the Blumenthals: a 1935 drunk-driving accident that killed six relatives and the murder her cousin Ronnie committed 18 years later. Her work has appeared in Vogue, Miami Herald, Boston Magazine, and Moment Magazine. Her latest book, and first memoir, Curse of the Blumenthals, traces three generations of tragedy and resilience within her own family. On this episode, Phyllis joins Emily to discuss that memoir: a 1935 drunk-driving accident that killed six relatives, including three children; the 1954 murder committed by her cousin Ronnie, born months after the crash; and her family's decades-long choice to stand by him through prison and a hard life after. She describes the years spent researching old police reports, how grief echoed across generations in her mother's quiet anxieties, and her decision to finally write the story after Ronnie's death in 2012 — turning inherited grief into connection rather than silence or anger.Connect with Phyllis Karas:WebsiteLinkedInFacebookGet Phyllis' books!Let's Connect: WebsiteLinkedInFacebookInstagramTwitterPinterestThe Grief and Happiness AllianceBook: Emily Thiroux Threatt - Loving and Living Your Way Through Grief Hosted on Acast. NAD is everywhere right now: supplements, injections, podcast topics, longevity clinics. And I'll be honest, when something gets this trendy, I get skeptical. But NAD is different. This is actually something I've been watching closely for nearly 25 years, and the science has finally caught up.Here's what most people don't realize: the exhaustion, the brain fog, the slower recovery you've been chalking up to "just getting older"? In the 1980s, the rural community of Hwaseong, South Korea, was gripped by fear as a serial rapist and murderer terrorized the area. Over the course of five years, ten women and girls were brutally attacked in the small villages of Hwaseong. For more than thirty years, the case remained unsolved, amplifying public mistrust in law enforcement. Innocent people were imprisoned for crimes they didn't commit, while families mourned without answers. It wasn't until 2019 that the real killer was finally identified, and police realized he was hiding in plain sight all along.Quince - https://www.quince.com/lightsoutOmaha Steaks - https://www.omahasteaks.com - Use Code: LIGHTSOUTSmalls - https://www.smalls.com/lightsoutFollow & Subscribe To The Show!Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3SfSNbkVrfz3ceXmNr0lZ4Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/lights-out/id1505843600Social Links:TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@lightsoutcastTwitter: http://twitter.com/lightsoutcastInstagram: http://instagram.com/lightsoutcastSuggestions/Comments: lop@milehigher.comMerch: https://lightsoutcast.shop/Request A Topic Form: https://zfrmz.com/Sp6vsxGQrNoHUfDzvGnNPodcast sponsor inquiries: adops@audioboom.comHost: JoshTwitter: http://twitter.com/milehigherjoshInstagram: http://instagram.com/milehigherjoshCo-Host: IanInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/ifarme/Editor/Producer: DanielInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/horrororeoSources: https://pastebin.com/YsWdiLpv
