When life gives you lemons, intentionally decide to make lemonade. There are a lot of things outside of our control and I've learned that the only thing we can control is ourselves. Even when we don't do a great job of it we can decide how we choose to respond to something. Thats what todays episode is about. lets make lemonade! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/healingbrokenheartsproject/support

In todays episode ; I get together with a group of incredible people and we all talk about Vision within Purpose. As we continue with our Conversation Starters events through Zoom, my heart continues to desire creating the space where groups of people can get together and talk about some tough things. Purpose has become quite a talking point in Western Culture causing this new sense of pressure to figure out why we are on this Earth. I by no means know the answer to that question, but I hope as we continue these topics, we can figure it out together by sharing each of our experiences. I hope that as you tune in that you're encouraged to love a little more and see things a little differently. That there is a shift in your heart that allows you to see the world through a different lens, a lens of love. In todays episode ; I get together with a group of incredible people and we all talk about Purpose, what it means, and what it isn't. Being Conversation Starters first event through Zoom, my hearts desire was to create the space where a group of people could get together and talk about some tough things. One of them being ‘Purpose'. The ‘meaning of purpose‘ has been argued by many, and although we may not agree on what purpose means, I believe as we begin to have these difficult conversations within our communities , we come closer and closer to figuring out how to fix the mess we've made of this world. A conversation originally intended for my previous pastor, today’s quick episode sheds light on answering this question ; Was our former President Trump hurtful and racist to BIPOC? A question initiated by another was triggered because I took the moment to reach out to my previous church and share that I felt that the church was advocating for our former president heavily yet failing to speak of the hurt he caused to the BIPOC and in hopes of providing insight , I took time to reflect and answer this question that was asked of me. While I began my search, and asked loved ones and friends their point of view, what came to light was the reality that we live in a country who is not aware of, ignores, and fails to address racism. Now I will always support people’s differing viewpoints, political parties, etc but what I will not support is the spread of hatred and hurt. My goal : to challenge your way of thinking and create a space for new perspectives on this challenging topic. Tune in! We talk about life amid COVID-19, his journey as a professional dancer beginning in Springfield, MA and unfolding in Atlanta and Los Angeles, the ups and downs of his life, lessons he learned, the advice he'd give to others, and his experiences performing in front of large audiences and well-known artists. In todays episode I get an opportunity to speak to the amazing Missy and we discuss her journey in life with depersonalization. We dive into her hardships, the challenges and frustrations with the current mental health field, and her dreams and goals of bringing a change to a current culture that doesn't support the needs of mental health let alone those diagnosed and/or struggling with depersonalization, all forms of anxiety, depression, etc. For those that do not know ... Depersonalization is an anxiety-triggered feeling of being cut off from reality. It manifests in various ways but the most common symptoms are: feeling as though you are in some sort of dream state, as though you or the people around you are not real, as though you have become detached from the world; as though you are watching your thoughts, feelings and physical self, from outside of yourself; as though you are not in control of your speech or your physical movements.** So tune in and take a listen. Missy's story is a beautiful example on how important community and/or family support are and how even through our struggles we can perservere
