To watch the video of this podcast, please go to: https://youtu.be/DWFB7aM-GBo Have you ever received a message that felt like it came from beyond — something too clear, too wise to be just coincidence? What if the voices we silence or label as imagination are actually spirit teachers trying to guide us? Can a message from spirit truly transform your life and mental well-being? In this heartfelt and expansive episode of Kaleidoscope of Possibilities – Alternative Perspectives on Mental Health, Dr. Adriana Popescu is joined by Michael McAdams, a lifelong seeker of truth and the author of An Angel Told Me So. Together, they explore the often-misunderstood realm of spirit communication and how it intersects with personal healing, mental health, and spiritual development. Michael shares his personal story growing up in a religious family, his early mystical experiences, and the extraordinary collaboration he had with his mother, who received profound written messages from spirit teachers over the course of 22 years. Dr. Adriana and Michael challenge common mental health paradigms by inviting a deeper inquiry into what is often dismissed as psychosis or delusion — and instead honoring the possibility that spiritual communication is a natural and healing part of our human experience. In this episode: • The difference between spirit guides, angels, and disembodied beings • How to discern between imagination and divine messages • Why affirmations and intention are key to spiritual protection • What is the difference between spiritual experiences and psychosis • The importance of belief systems and free will in shaping our spiritual reality • Practical tools to begin or strengthen your connection to spiritual guidance Resources mentioned in this episode: Michael's website: https://www.spiritspeaks.com Michael's book An Angel Told Me So: https://a.co/d/f4P58p7 The Urantia Book: https://a.co/d/4KRv3sP Message from Spirit Teachers: Spiritual Parchment Prints on SpiritSpeaks.com About Michael: Michael McAdams is a lifelong spiritual seeker and the author of An Angel Told Me So, a collection of profound spiritual messages received by his mother, Wilma Jean Jones, over the span of two decades. With a background in traditional Christianity and a deep passion for metaphysics, Michael bridges faith and spirit communication through his work. He shares a personal journey of awakening, divine communication, and the sacred role of spirit teachers in guiding us through life's challenges. “We are not alone. We are constantly being guided, helped, and supported — but we have to ask, and we have to be willing to listen.” – Michael Would you like to continue this conversation and connect with other people who are interested in exploring these topics? Levittown, hosted by Bloomberg News reporters Olivia Carville and Margi Murphy, takes listeners to a New York suburb as dozens of young women discover that innocent pictures they shared with high-school classmates on social media have been manipulated into pornography and posted online. After being told by police and others there's nothing much that can be done, they set out to catch whoever did this and unwittingly join forces with a global band of investigators and hackers to combat the AI-fueled rise of deepfakes.Building on reporting for their Bloomberg Businessweek cover story, Carville and Murphy range from the suburbs of New York to New Zealand, hearing from victims of deepfake porn, investigators who are seeking a legal foothold to stop it, and the online vigilantes who have stepped in to try to shut down the websites. The first episode will debut March 21 with subsequent episodes available on March 22, 23, 28, 29, and 30. The podcast will also be featured on Bloomberg's flagship Big Take Podcast, which takes listeners through the best business, finance and economic stories from across the Bloomberg newsroom. Levittown is a co-production of Bloomberg News, Kaleidoscope and iHeartPodcasts.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-like-it-s-live--4113802/support.
To watch the video of this episode, please go to: https://youtu.be/YdEz8etKYO0 How does trauma live in the body and influence our long-term health? Can suppressed emotions contribute to chronic inflammation and illness? What's possible when we work with the body's natural intelligence to heal? In this episode of Kaleidoscope of Possibilities – Alternative Perspectives on Mental Health, Dr. Adriana Popescu is joined by holistic trauma specialist Veronica Merchak to explore the connection between trauma, inflammation, and healing. Veronica shares her unique approach to helping clients process trauma, combining modalities like BodyTalk, Trauma/Tension Release Exercises (TRE), and her own method called Quantum Field Talk Therapy. Veronica brings personal experience and professional insight into how the body stores trauma and suppressed emotions—often beneath our awareness—and how those energetic imprints can manifest in physical dysfunction, chronic inflammation, and illness. She offers hope, perspective, and practical tools to support healing and transformation at all levels, empowering us to look at what's possible when we reconnect with the body's natural wisdom. In this episode: • How unresolved trauma gets stored in the body and contributes to chronic inflammation • The role of the nervous system and cellular memory in trauma • An introduction to BodyTalk and how it helps the body communicate and heal • The power of TRE and the body's natural shaking mechanism for trauma release • Quantum Field Talk Therapy • The importance of healing collective and intergenerational trauma Resources mentioned in this episode: Connect with Veronica on Instagram: @veronica_lets_talk Email: veronica.letstalk@gmail.com Learn more about BodyTalk: https://www.bodytalksystem.com/ TRE Information: https://traumaprevention.com/ About Veronica: Veronica Merchak is a holistic trauma specialist, presently based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Her primary focus is how trauma, suppressed emotions, and the situations relating to these emotions, are kept and held in the body. She assists clients in understanding how this can result in certain physical manifestations. She is a Body Talk Practitioner and Trauma/Tension Release Provider. She also uses a talk therapy, Quantum Field Talk Therapy and as a result, she has an innovative approach as she combines these modalities and tailors them according to the client's individual needs. With the objective being to assist clients in releasing the emotional charge of trauma, as well as allowing a safe space for clients to be vulnerable and receptive as they shift their perceptions of trauma and gain a deeper understanding that their bodies are always working for them to protect them, rather than against them. “Your body is not working against you, it's working for you.” – Veronica Would you like to continue this conversation and connect with other people who are interested in exploring these topics? EASTER The Death of Death 4.20.25 GOOD FRIDAY is the day of death. HOLY SATURDAY is the day of waiting. EASTER SUNDAY is the day of resurrection. 1 Corinthians 15:54-55 “Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” 1 Peter 3:18-19 Christ suffered once for sins…being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit, in which he went and proclaimed to the spirits in prison. If the cross has reminded us that God does not bypass suffering, His resurrection reminds us that God does not leave us there. The resurrection is not just a past event – it's a present and future reality and invitation. 1. We Live Without Fear John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. 2. We Suffer With Hope & Purpose 3. We Live Resurrected Lives Now Romans 6:4 “…just as Christ was raised from the dead… we too may live a new life.”

Go to flyingfreeworkshop.com to register for our $1 workshop: Is It Abuse? (or am I just being too sensitive?)Is your husband's addiction tearing your marriage—and your heart—apart? In today's powerful episode, I unpack the often-overlooked reality of addiction-fueled abuse. We'll talk about how addictions—from porn and gambling to drugs and spending—impact the brain, hijack relationships, and leave women spiritually and emotionally devastated. If you've ever tried harder, prayed longer, or changed yourself to fix what's broken in your marriage, this episode is a healing balm and a wake-up call. I want to remind us that addiction is the problem—not you—and offer biblical, practical wisdom for reclaiming your power, peace, and dignity.Key Takeaways:Addiction ≠ love problem. You can't love, pray, or submit your husband out of his addiction. Change only happens when he chooses it.Addiction changes the brain. It affects dopamine systems, impulse control, and emotional regulation, making empathy and honesty difficult. You are not crazy. Gaslighting, mood swings, and financial chaos are symptoms of a deeper issue—not proof you're “too sensitive.”God does not call you to endure abuse. You are permitted to set boundaries, seek legal protection, and pursue peace—even if that means separation or divorce.Healing begins when you turn inward. Like one brave woman in the Kaleidoscope said, "Help me get free from the constant pain"—and everything changed.Read the show notes and/or ask Natalie a question hereRelated Resources: Some Flying Free Podcast episodes you might be interested in: “Can My Alcoholic Husband Change?” and “Am I the Problem in My Marriage?”

In this episode, we get to meet Daughter of Swords, aka Alex Sauser-Monnig. Alex just released a brand new solo album under their Daughter of Swords moniker, appropriately titled Alex, and in this chat, we discuss the record at length, including its varied themes (of both personal and societal contexts), the creation of the record, and also the huge aesthetic shift from their first DoS record, Dawnbreaker. We also talk about their various side projects, like The A's with Sylvan Esso's Amelia Meath, or the trio they and Amelia share with Molly Sarle called Mountain Man. There's also the topic of the booming North Carolina music scene - spearheaded by the Psychic Hotline indie music group led by Sylvan Esso - and what it means for them to be a part of such a special family of talented folks. Thank you for listening.
KALEIDOSCOPE OF THE CROSS Palm Sunday: Barabbas or Jesus? 4.13.25 Palm Sunday and the journey to the cross always confronts our assumptions and challenges our unmet expectations. When we worship a version of Jesus that doesn't exist, unmet expectations can turn our adoration into rejection. Matthew 27:17, 20-21 So when the crowd had gathered, Pilate asked them, “Which one do you want me to release to you: Jesus Barabbas, or Jesus who is called the Messiah?” But the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowd to ask for Barabbas and to have Jesus executed. “Which of the two do you want me to release to you?” asked the governor. “Barabbas,” they answered. Barabbas represents the violent, force-driven pursuit of power and control. Jesus represents the countercultural way of the kingdom of God, characterized by the cross and sacrificial love. Every single time we try to bring about God's kingdom through force, or political power, or control, we reveal that we don't fully understand the cross.

The Center That Holds Talk Notes 4-6-25 "Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love, I become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal." Colossions 1:1-20 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. 15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the first born over all creation. 16 For in him all things were created:things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. 19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. In a world marked by instability, God is immutable. God is the only anchor that cannot be moved. Which means: • We find certainty in God's Promises • We have stability in God's Purposes • We can know the unwavering faithfulness of God's relationship with us • We can stay anchored to Him as the source of all our hope The immutability of God is not an abstract theological concept but a practical and comforting truth. • Idols are made by human hands, but Christ is the Maker of all things. • Idols are lifeless and mute, but Christ is the Living Word. • Idols demand sacrifice yet give nothing in return, but Christ became the sacrifice to give us everything. • Idols bind their worshippers in fear, but Christ's perfect love casts out all fear. • Idols fade, break, and decay, but Christ reigns forever. • Idols deceive and lead astray, but Christ is the Way the Truth & the Life. • Idols offer empty promises, but Christ fulfills every promise of God. • Idols reflect the image of man, but Christ is the perfect image of God. • Idols are sustained by their worshippers, but Christ sustains all things.

Welcome back, butterflies! In this episode, I'm joined once again by my friend and fellow coach, Diana Swillinger. We're diving into the second part of an important topic today: Can we gaslight ourselves?Gaslighting is usually something done to us—manipulation that makes us question our reality. But what happens when we internalize it? When we start running the script on autopilot and doubting ourselves before anyone else even gets a chance? Buckle up, because our Kaleidoscope members had some thoughts on this, and we're breaking it all down.Key Takeaways: Idealizing Others – When we believe that if we just act a certain way, that person will finally approve of us? That's a trap.Believing the Unbelievable – Sometimes, we're so conditioned to believe our abuser isn't lying that we ignore all the red flags. It's like trying to finish a puzzle when someone keeps hiding the pieces. Maddening, right?Giving Away Our Credibility – We assume the other person must be right and know better than us. Newsflash: That's not always true.Agreeing Against Our Gut – You ever nod along while every fiber of your being screams, Nope, not true!? Over-Spiritualizing – Just because someone prays about something doesn't mean their actions magically become good. Intentions don't equal truth.Minimizing Abuse – “Maybe I'm making a big deal out of nothing.” Nope, friend. If it feels bad, it is bad. Maybe even worse than bad. How Faith Can Condition Us – Ever been told you're “thinking evil” just because you question something? That's not faith. That's control.Read the show notes and/or ask Natalie a question hereDiana Swillinger is a life and business coach, host of The Renew Your Mind Podcast, and founder of the Renew Your Mind Institute Coach Training. After decades of trying to please God, be a good person and do the right thing, she ended up exhausted and discouraged. Desperate for a solution, Diana went back to school, joined personal development programs, and more, then took what she learned and created mind renewal tools that let her love life in every situation no matter what comes her way. Over the past five years, she has empowered thousands of women with those same tools to heal themselves, get back to who God created them to be, and build a life they love.

KALEIDOSCOPE OF THE CROSS The Cross as Reconciliation 3.30.25 The cross reconciles humanity to God (vertical), people to one another (horizontal), and all of creation to its Creator. Colossians 1:19-23 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. 21 Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. 22 But now he has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation— 23 if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel. Ephesians 2:11-22 11 Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called “uncircumcised” by those who call themselves “the circumcision” (which is done in the body by human hands)— 12 remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ. 14 For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, 15 by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, 16 and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility. 17 He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. 18 For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit. 19 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God's people and also members of his household, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 21 In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22 And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit. The cross not only reconciles us to God, but creates a new humanity reconciled to one another. To cling to our divisions or our differences is to resist the very work Christ accomplished on the cross. The cross is not just a symbol of personal salvation; it is a pattern for social reconciliation. It dismantles the walls we build and invites us to a table we did not deserve to sit at—alongside people we never imagined calling family. - Paraphrased from Exclusion and Embrace by Miroslav Volf The cross doesn't make light of our pain or pretend the past didn't happen. It acknowledges the depth of our sin and the cost of justice—and then pays that price in full.
