The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly summit on Neutralizing Workplace Racism 07/17/25. In Michigan, a black mother of 6 children and McDonald's manager was stabbed to death by a disgruntled coworker. The 39-eyar-old Harris managed the Eastpointe McDonald's and allegedly had a dispute with her suspected killer, 26-year-old Afeni Muhammad. After the verbal conflict, Harris sent Muhammad home, but she's alleged to have returned to the hamburger shop with a weapon. Gus humbly submits that anti-blackness conditioned by the System of White Supremacy is a crucial aspect of this crime. Given the tens of thousands of cases where Racists terrorize black people on the job, their are relatively few instances of black people responding with violence. Black people are in mortal conflict with other black coworkers all the time. #OmarThornton #NoPoliticsOnTheJob INVEST in The COWS - http://paypal.me/TheCOWS Cash App: http://cash.app/$TheCOWS

The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly Compensatory Call-In 07/05/25. We encourage non-white listeners to dial in with their codified concepts, new terms, observations, research findings, workplace problems or triumphs, and/or suggestions on how best to Replace White Supremacy With Justice ASAP. This weekly broadcast examines current events from across the globe to learn what's happening in all areas of people activity. We cultivate Counter-Racist Media Literacy by scrutinizing journalists' word choices and using logic to deconstruct what is reported as "news." We'll use these sessions to hone our use of terms as tools to reveal truth, neutralize Racists/White people. #ANTIBLACKNESS Before the July 4th battle simulations, two Suspected Race Soldiers descended on the TOPS Supermarket that was subject to a White Supremacist attack in 2022. The two Suspected Terrorists were arrested, but the black people in the surrounding area were heavily traumatized again. It was said after the 2022 massacre that Racists may look to replicate an attack at this site. President Donald J. Trump made time boast about the passage of his "Big Beautiful Bill." Beyond making ICE one of the most funded enforcement agencies in history, there's no reason to think any of this will help Produce Justice. We'll also discuss how entertainment mogul and entrepreneur Sean "Black Male Privilege" Combs was acquitted on the most series criminal charges in his sex trafficking case. Combs was convicted of prosecution and denied bale to the delight of many. #SoberWeekendEdition #INVEST in The C.O.W.S. - https://cash.app/$TheCOWS #TheCOWS16Years CALL IN NUMBER: 720.716.7300 CODE: 564943#

How is the notion of “free speech” abused and misunderstood? What's wrong with “debate me” culture – and with the value placed on appearing to be “controversial”? And what happens when people who are actually pretty powerful claim they “can't say anything anymore”? Sociologist Aaron Winter, an expert on racism and the far right, joins Uncommon Sense to discuss all this and more.Showing what sociology has to offer to discussions of “freedom” often found in politics, Aaron describes how “free speech” has been invoked through the decades in North America and Europe, including in the victimisation narratives found in far-right discourse today. Plus, we reflect on the importance of no-platforming, and the need for critical thought when we hear that certain ideas are simply the “voice of the people”.Featuring discussion of Aaron's work with Aurelien Mondon on “Reactionary Democracy”. The Last Jedi was 8 years ago, and the media is still calling Star Wars fans "racists" because of Kelly Marie Tran, John Boyega and The Acolyte (like, all of it.) The media and Lucasfilm are using Kelly Marie Tran and John Boyega as scapegoats to push a false narrative that Star Wars fans are racist, despite the vast majority being unfairly vilified. Hollywood and the media are weaponizing identities and blaming fans for their own stupidity and dumb choices, rather than taking responsibility for failures like those of Lucasfilm and Marvel. The entertainment industry's constant attacks on fans and their personal opinions are tanking movies and shows because people anticipate "one of those things" pushing an agenda. The media and entertainment industry are regressing to the 1950s by constantly shoving identity politics and agendas down people's throats, unfairly labeling Star Wars fans as racist. The industry's need to change characters and stories to reflect actors' personal identities is ruining movies and shows by prioritizing actors' lives over storytelling. Kelly Marie Tran's attempt to tie her new movie to the Star Wars controversy is deemed ridiculous and attention-seeking, as nobody cares about her new project. The entertainment industry's actions are making people mad at each other and hating unfairly when they didn't before, creating unnecessary division among fans. Diversity and inclusion are being used as tools to push agendas and vilify certain groups, symptomatic of a larger problem in Hollywood and the media.
The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly summit on Neutralizing Workplace Racism 04/10/25. Last week we heard a number of reports about attempted spouses/care mates coming in to visit the workplace. At least one report indicated White coworkers disparaged a black couple for going out to enjoy a "lunch date." This sort of unprovoked, vindictive Racism is widespread on the job. It's as though Racists hate seeing non-white people attempt to be constructive and affectionate with other non-white people (all their hard work for nothing). AND Racist love to gossip and pry into all the details of their non-white coworkers' lives. A brief visit from a care mate can provide the perfect opportunity for your White colleagues to pepper your partner 20 (or 200) questions. We also hear more illustrations of anti-blackness in the workplace and examples of black people being encouraged to discuss Racism publicly while on the job. This is generally not the best idea. #NoPoliticsOnTheJob #10Stop #MinimizeConflict #TheCOWS CALL IN NUMBER: 605.313.5164 CODE: 564943#

The Context of White Supremacy welcomes Racist Suspect Joel Whitney. Classified as a White Man, Whitney is a Brooklyn, NY writer whose work has been featured in The New York Times, The Daily Beast, The Baffler, The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, and Boston Review to name a few. He's "a former features editor at Al Jazeera America and a founder and former editor-in-chief at Guernica." Gus originally hoped to speak with Whitney about his 2016 publication, Finks: How the CIA Tricked the World's Best Writers. I'm not quite sure what my original motivation was for exploring this text - could have been Rev. Jim Jones and the Peoples Temple or Soundtrack to a Coup d'État. Anyway, by the time we got our calendars synchronized, Mr. Whitney had written another book, Flights: Radicals on the Run. Most of the featured subjects who had to flee oppression are Victims of White Supremacy like: Minister Malcolm X, Paul Robeson, Dr. Angela Davis, and Leonard Peltier - who recently benefited from a commuted sentence from departing President Biden. During the broadcast, Mr. Whitney repeated the tacky refrain that White people are also "held back" by Racism. He could only list two trifling ways that the System of White Supremacy holds him down. Whitney also engaged in another suspicious and common practice amongst Racist Suspects: Citing the work of Ibram X. Kendi, a Victim of White Supremacy, to confuse non-white people about what it means to be classified as White. #LorraineHansberry #FarceOnWashington #TheCOWS16Years INVEST in The COWS – http://paypal.me/TheCOWS Cash App: https://cash.app/$TheCOWS CALL IN NUMBER: 605.313.5164 CODE: 564943#

Everywhere I look, I see the telltale hysteria that gripped my former party back in 2016. I was a good soldier for the Left, fighting for what I believed was the right side. The hysteria spread, infecting every corner of the Left, and at some point, we lost touch with reality. What was this that had happened to us, I wondered. Why had we abandoned our humanity? Why did the side that used to be the good guys, at least to me, feel so comfortable sliding into dehumanizing and degrading half the country? As I began asking questions, sooner or later, I would get the same one back again, “What happened to you?” But the right question was never what happened to me.The Democrats have had almost ten years to figure out that the problem was never Trump. It was always us and the pristine utopian world we built for ourselves using the internet, social media, and a charismatic leader like Barack Obama. It was a New America where everyone got a seat at the table. The Left always says the first Black president rousted the racists out of hiding, and they lost their minds. But the truth is, it was those of us on the Left who lost our minds with the first Black president. It became an addiction for us, this euphoric feeling of changing the world, of making history. Of being good.Trump's win kicked all of us into a level of mass hysteria we couldn't control then or now. As you can see by the headlines, every day is the end of the world - it's a threat to Democracy, a Constitutional Crisis, a Nazi salute, a fascist in the White House. Everyone is to be feared. Every decision they make is bad and dangerous. The Democrats didn't learn the lesson in 2016 that Trump represented a large portion of this country that had been abandoned and forgotten by us. We not only decided we were the chosen people to bring our new world to the promised land, but we also decided they were the bad people — the RACISTS — who must be kept out of our government, our culture, our institutions, our corporations — even our restaurants, our movie theaters, and our award shows. As with most utopias gone wrong, there was no due process or presumption of innocence. It was accuse lest ye be accused. It was apologize or else. It was guilty until proven innocent. We all lived in fear of a tyrannical mob on social media with the power to decide who gets to stay and who must go.What was all of this madness, this hysteria we were experiencing? It was a combination of algorithms our brains were not ready for, and how we'd cut ourselves off from the everyday lives of ordinary Americans. They at least still had one foot in normal. But us? We were crippled by delusion, ruled by hysteria.Trump threatened everything. He knocked down our carefully constructed utopian diorama with glee, and his supporters loved him for it. We just weren't prepared for how hysteria takes hold and scares so many of us all at once. It was pure madness, and we were helpless against it.The hysteria spread to the corporate press, who got most of their information from Twitter, which was a mass hysteria delivery device. And that hysteria trickled down into the homes of anyone watching mainstream cable news. It was at the gym, airports, and the laundry mat. It was white noise in the background, selling our delusions as our new normal —quietly scaring Americans every day of the week. The hysteria brought down the empire as we attacked every potential threat to our utopia - movies, books, history, statues, buildings, words, jokes, poetry, science, marriage, men, the color of our skin, the words that came out of our mouths, what we could say online and what we couldn't. Obey the rules or else. Be quiet or else. Sooner or later, it was bound to get to the kids. And when it did, not enough of us stood up and said ENOUGH.Usually, this would be when the FBI busts in and breaks it all up, but we controlled the FBI, so they would do nothing.I was one of the lucky ones. I got out in 2020 after the mob turned on me one too many times. If it wasn't true about me, everything they accused me of, there was a good chance it wasn't true about MAGA either. And it wasn't. If you wanted to tell my story as a former Good Liberal who was radicalized online, you can think of it like this: I was radicalized by kindness, decency, and a desire to be free. All the Democrats and the Left ever had to do was snap out of it. See Trump and his supporters as actual human beings and not separate us and categorize us by the color of our skin and insist that the bloodshed of history still lives inside all of us. They could reach out and show some decency, let the rest of the country back inside the castle walls. But even that was too much of a risk for an empire in collapse. But be that as it may, until the Democrats get a grip, they must be kept out of power. So herewith are guidelines for the Democrats on how to keep losing elections, and I really think they should listen to me, don't you? This is a public episode. If you'd like to discuss this with other subscribers or get access to bonus episodes, visit sashastone.substack.com/subscribe

Good morning Lemon Nation! Yesterday, Super Bowl LIX saw the Kansas City Chiefs face off against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles dominated with a 40 to 22 victory. However, beyond the on-field excitement, the event also mirrored the nation's deep political divisions. From the players' actions to the halftime performance, the Super Bowl became a microcosm of our current societal climate. The halftime show, in particular, sparked significant controversy, with some reactions exposing deep-seated racism. Tune in for Don to break it all down! Learn more about your ad choices. You'll never learn the truth by continuing to feed into the lies and/or by continuing to believe the lies. For centuries people around the entire world have been lied to, and without ever trying to research for themselves. Research has always been available. They're master manipulators. Happy New Year to each and every one of you!Welcome to Season 6 episode 1 of Light ‘Em Up!We launch 2025 with exciting news! We're actively being downloaded in 117 countries, globally!Without fear or favor — we follow the facts wherever they lead us.We present the facts not the fiction that drive and support our theories forward! We'll shine the antiseptic light of the truth as we deliver this in-depth investigation that started some 14 months ago as we began to march heavily into the election season of 2024.We'll take an up-close and personal historic look at the United States' oldest domestic terrorist organization — the Ku Klux Klan — and how some of what you are hearing these days from many MAGA Republicans — even from the recent victor in the presidential election, Donald J. Trump — harkens back to the goals and aspirations of the very same night riders — who burned crosses and terrorized Black people and pretty much anyone or anything that moved after the Civil War that wasn't like them. White, nativist and Protestant.Terror, vigilantism and murder were the Klan's calling card. We'll look at the historic foundation of the Klan.Like it or not, agree or not, the similarities between the 1920s Ku Klux Klan and Donald Trump's Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement are stark and marked. Both movements have preached the centrality of being anti-immigrant. Both have been rooted in white supremacy. Both had and have a dark side of associated hate crimes. Both have wrapped themselves in the flag and pretended to be the most patriotic and pro-American.Originally the Ku Klux Klan was established innocuously enough as a social organization by six ex-Confederate officers in the small Southern town of Pulaski, Tennessee. In the spring or early summer of 1866, six men gathered one evening in the Pulaski law office of Judge Thomas M. Jones, the father of one of the founders, to create their new “fraternity”.In 1867 former Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest became the first “Grand Wizard" (national leader) of the order. The transformed Klan was to be organized along military lines in a rigid hierarchy with leaders elected at each level.A Grand Cyclops was to be the leader of a local den, or chapter.— Above him was a Grand Giant in charge of all dens in a county, who in turn was answerable to a Grand Titan.— A Grand Titan reigned over a Congressional District, and in charge of the whole state was a Grand Dragon.— They created an organization patterned after a previously prominent college fraternity, Kuklos Adelphon. They adopted the basic ritual of this fraternity with some changes. They took the first part of the name, Kuklos, Greek for circle or band, altered it slightly to Kuklux and added Klan for alliterative appeal. Thus, the Ku Klux Klan was born. With our investigation, we submit that to understand MAGA, the Klan must be considered as a formative background influence.MAGA didn't spring full-blown from the mind of “stable genius” Donald Trump. Many Americans love and strive to hide the deep-seated racism which is part of our history, and that is the case with the Klan. In the early 20th century, the Klan was far more influential than is now recognized.Tune in to hear all of the explosive details.Follow our sponsors: Newsly, Feedspot and Dayquil Vapo-CoolWe want to hear from you!

Categorizing things is central to science. And there are dozens of systems scientists have created to name everything from the trenches on the sea bed to the stars in the sky.But names have consequences — unintended or otherwise. In our new series What's in a name we'll explore naming in science and how names impact the world — whether that's how the names of storms impact public safety, how the names of diseases impact patient care, or even how the names of scientific concepts can drive the direction of research itself. In this first episode we're looking at species names. The modern system of species naming began in the 1700s and has played a vital role in standardizing academic communication, ensuring that scientists are on the same page when they talk about an organism. However, this system is not without its issues. For example, there has been much debate around whether species with names considered offensive — such as those named after historical racists — should be changed, and what rule changes need to be made to allow this to happen. We speak to researchers about the history of this naming system, how it's applied and how it might evolve in the face of growing pressures.SourcesFor a full list of sources, please visit https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-024-04200-9Music creditsPremiumaudio/Pond5Alon Marcus/Pond5Groove Committee/Pond5Opcono/Pond5Erik Mcnerny/Pond5Earless Pierre/Pond5Richard Smithson/Triple Scoop Music/Getty ImagesDouglas Romayne/Triple Scoop Music/Getty ImagesSound effects via Pond5Thick-billed Longspur/Andrew Spencer via CC BY-NC-ND 2.5 Hosted on Acast. Since the beginning of Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign, his political journey has drawn polarizing comparisons, including extreme associations with figures like Adolf Hitler. These comparisons were fueled, in part, by the vocal endorsements Trump received from certain white supremacy groups. Now, as President-elect Trump prepares to return to the Oval Office, some critics express heightened concern about the potential for policies they perceive as advancing a white supremacist agenda. But are these fears substantiated by evidence, or do they stem from hyperbolic rhetoric intended to stoke public anxiety? Is there a factual basis for the idea that Trump is aligned with or advancing such an agenda? Or have these accusations been weaponized as political propaganda to manipulate public opinion? MENTAL DIALOGUE is asking the questions America is afraid to ask. ALL I ASK IS THAT YOU THINK --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/montoya-smith/support
This episode is presented by Create A Video – In one of the most insipid and racialist column I've ever seen, McClatchy columnist Isaac Bailey basically calls Republican voters racist for not supporting Mark Robinson enough to win his race for governor - but he's glad they didn't. The Context of White Supremacy welcomes Ben Rappaport. A graduate of the Hussman School of Journalism & Media at UNC-Chapel Hill, Rappaport is a reporter at the Border Belt Independent. On last month's Compensatory Call-In, Gus T. shared an audio interview where Mr. Rappaport described his investigation into the Abandoned Pools of Columbus County, North Carolina. This report resonated with many C.O.W.S. listeners and Victims of White Supremacy. There's such a robust, global record of people classified as White laboring intensely to restrict black people's access to pools and beaches. Racists have closed, bombed, and poured acid in pools to keep out the niggras. All of this Racist effort is a major contributor to the reason why large numbers of people classified as black in the US are unable to swim and a high percentage of child drownings are children classified as black. Not to mention, all the heat from so called climate change makes swimming sound like a good/life-saving idea - if you can find a pool. Since we're discussing North Carolina, we still ain't forgot Javion Magee. #SinkOrSwim #TheCOWS15Years INVEST in The COWS – http://paypal.me/TheCOWS Cash App: https://cash.app/$TheCOWS CALL IN NUMBER: 605.313.5164 CODE: 564943#
The C.O.W.S. Neutralizing Workplace Racism 09/06/24. Hopefully, lots of non-white people in the US had one day less on the plantation this week with the so-called Labor Day holiday. Now that tackle football season has begun, Gus T. strongly recommends that non-white people avoid discussing the gridiron or any other sporting activities in the workplace. Not even Caitlin Clark. Again, work-related subject matter should be the focus of conversation. Additionally, Racists frequently associate non-white people with athletic activities that require no cognitive abilities. I've never heard of a non-white person getting a promotion or raise because of they're unwavering support of the New York Yankees or Washington Redskins. In fact, some work environments forbid athletic paraphernalia because it can promote workplace conflict (even fisticuffs). We also heard a number of reports about White people being jealous of competent black employees. #NoMoneyForBlackEntrepreneurs #TheCOWS15Years INVEST in The COWS – http://paypal.me/TheCOWS Cash App: https://cash.app/$TheCOWS CALL IN NUMBER: 605.313.5164 CODE: 564943#
