He wore earbuds to hear his music and because of his blood condition, anemia, he wore a black mask so he wouldn’t get cold. Aurora Police received a phone call advising them that McClain “looked sketchy” so they approached McClain and asked him to stop. McClain didn’t stop walking and that is when things escalated.
