In this short podcast episode, Zach joins Bryan to answer a common duct maintenance question: Should I fog or sanitize my ducts? The North American Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA) outlines the uses of chemical products. Adding chemicals is usually a last resort in flex or sheet metal (externally wrapped) duct systems; they should NOT be used on ducts with internal liners or are made of duct board or any other material with porous surfaces. Fog is typically applied while a vacuum is running at the opposite end of the duct. It liquefies on surfaces, and a lot of contractors don't go in and dry off the duct surfaces. It's difficult to coat the entire interior of a duct system with the chemical to make it as effective as possible, and the residue creates a moist, sticky film that actually encourages microbial growth in the ductwork. On top of that, some people may be sensitive to the chemicals. In many cases, replacing ductwork that has been confirmed to have microbial growth is more reliable. Chemical duct sanitation often has more of a perceived benefit than long-term results. The use of chemical cleaners in ductwork is similar to that of using some line set flushes without forcing a solid pig through the line set to pick up the residue afterward. Ultimately, the customer has to make an informed decision based on the problem and knowledge of the benefits and drawbacks of chemical solutions. Every Internet-facing application accesses data over an already-secure connection. There's nothing bad guys could do even if they were to somehow intercept random batches of your over-the-air 1s and 0s. VPNs are OTT security. It will make activity significantly slower, because of extra encryption - pages will take longer to load, videos will buffer more. You just don't need a VPN. You really don't. Even in a dodgy cybercafe in Turkey. Your own encryption, built into your OS and applications, is quite enough. One caveat to all this - VPN's ability to fake where you are in the world to a service that you're accessing. Which is borderline illegal, or at least against terms of service of whichever service you're accessing. But so what? Save your money! This is WVU Extension reminding you to sanitize private water supplies before drinking, washing dishes, brushing teeth, washing and preparing food, or making ice. Floodwaters carry organisms that can lead to illness or death. Disinfect all wells, springs, cisterns, pumps and pipes exposed to flood water. Use bleach containing 5.25% available chlorine. Mix one gallon of bleach with four gallons of water. Remove all debris from the reservoir. Pour in 2 ½ gallons of the disinfecting solution. Start the pump and open all taps until the water from each tap has a distinct chlorine odor, then close the taps. Pour the other 2 ½ gallons of the solution into the reservoir and let sit closed for 12 to 24 hours. Do not use any water from the supply for at least 12 hours. After the waiting period, pump the water supply to waste until the chlorine odor disappears. Contact your county health department to test samples before using the water. Note: Fresh water entering the supply may be contaminated. To insure safety keep a slight taste of chlorine in the water. Researchers at The University of Texas at Austin have developed a method called "machine unlearning" to remove copyright-protected and violent content from generative AI models. This approach allows for the active blocking and removal of undesirable content without starting from scratch. Traditionally, the process required manually removing data and retraining the model. The new method is significant for ensuring responsible use and making generative AI models commercially viable. The research focuses on image-based generative AI models and incorporates human teams in content moderation and removal. This research opens up possibilities for addressing copyrighted and violent content in generative AI models. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/tonyphoang/message

In today’s message we celebrate the victorious work of Christ in Holy Communion by REMEMBERING what Jesus has done for us on the Cross through the sacrifice of His BODY and His BLOOD. Scriptures make it abundantly clear that it is the precious blood of Jesus Christ, the blood of the Lamb of God, that SAVES us from our SIN. Pastor Alexander will share six things that walking with God in the power of the blood does for you. The QUESTION is: What will YOU DO with the Power of the Blood? His Blood will either be in your HEART and on your LIFE, or on your HANDS and trampled under your FEET! You get to choose to either ACCEPT or REJECT the Power of the Blood in YOUR LIFE!

When your house is affected by flood damage, there are certain steps you need to take in order to ensure that you get it repaired properly and in a timely manner. Here are a few tips to help you with this.Documentation is keyIf you are a homeowner, you should know that it is important to document any damage. This will help you make a claim, if needed. You will need to gather a variety of documents. This can include pictures, videos, and documents of any damaged items. It is also essential to keep important insurance papers in a safe place. Ideally, you will want to store them at a secure location, such as a bank safe deposit box. When you are dealing with water damage, it is important to document as much as possible. Photographs can be used to show the extent of the damage. The interior and exterior of your home should be documented. Photos should be taken at close-up, as well as from different angles.Another important step to take is to make a list of all the contents of your home. This list should include the purchase date of all items. Take pictures of any flooded rooms as well as any items that were in the room. Taking measurements is helpful as well.Remove damaged itemsThere are a number of things you can do to make your home look better after a flood, and one of the first things you should do is remove damaged items. These items include your furniture, your clothes and other items that have been affected by the water. Aside from the fact that your possessions will need to be cleaned, you'll also have to replace the damaged materials. This is especially true for items that are porous, as they will soak up the moisture. Please use Service Restoration to improve your flood damage restoration in Orono. Some things you might be able to salvage from a flood are your carpets, insulation and some particle board furniture. However, these items are often accompanied by health hazards and should be treated with the utmost caution. If you have to make do with only a few items, you might have to hire professionals to help you out. Before you can begin any repair work, you'll need to take pictures of the damaged items, and make a video. You'll also want to register your loss with your insurance agent.Dry out the affected areasWhen you have flood damage, it is important to dry out the affected areas of your home as soon as possible. However, the process can take weeks to achieve, especially if you're dealing with a large area. Here are a few tips to get you on your way.The first thing you should do after a water spill is to drain the water out of your home. This is an important step because it will help remove any remaining moisture from the wood and plaster. You should also make sure that the extension cords are disconnected from the water source as well. Leaving the cords exposed can cause further damage. For larger areas, you may need to invest in a portable dehumidifier to remove the water from the air. A wet/dry shop vacuum can also be used to extract any remaining standing water.Sanitize the areaFloods can leave behind dirt, mud, and other harmful contaminants. These should be cleaned as soon as possible. This will help prevent mold and other hazards from spreading. Service Restoration is one of the best flood damage cleanup in Minnesota called Service Restoration Orono. When cleaning a contaminated area, wear protective gear and remove items that cannot be easily washed. You should also make sure to disinfect all surfaces. Use a 10% bleach solution and apply it to the affected areas. Don't use excessive amounts of bleach. Ensure that the area is adequately dried to prevent mold. If you are not familiar with the proper clean up methods, contact your local health district or the EPA.After 24 hours, disinfect the area. A 10% bleach solution can be applied with a sprayer or sponge. Using a chemical sanitizer on salvageable surfaces is also a good idea.Service Restoration Inc. is a professional flood damage repair service provider. The Ice Machine is not working..we all know the story, cross country meet followed by a football game and the Ice Machine stops making ice the day before. Paul Calloway and Jake Stiefel share some tips and tricks for avoiding that nightmare morning. Ice Machine Maintenance Try to have two machines running and schedule maintenance one at a time. Cube Ice drops in batches and needs time to cycle Nugget ice (Sonic Ice) machines continue to run and don't need to shut down and cool off. Water cooled is typically better than air cooled Water filters? 6 months is a must for filters. Proper size filter is really important, typically follow manufacturers' instructions. Try to use the multi-phase filter approach to help prevent the machine from shutting down. Clean the ice machine every six months or when you change your filter. Change the filter anytime you have the water shut off. Scale reduction is important in maintaining the life of the machine. Bad taste, lower performance. Air Filter? Cleaning them when you change your filter is a good recommendation Emptying and cleaning the Ice Machine? Use a scale cleaner or remover according to the manufacturer's recommendations Best if you let someone trained to run the cleaning cycle. Ice machine sanitizer from amazon is usually ok but check for food-safe branding. Sanitize and rinse the machine because scale remover is caustic. Be sure it is food grade!!! Troubleshooting Make sure the machine is level or it can decrease the production rate. The filter is the number one cause for not making ice - no water pressure means your filter is clogged Most machines will have an error code you can google or look up on the chart. Making a loud noise - turn it off and leave it until it can be serviced. This is a great time to clean it out anyway. Won't dump - usually a sensor that stops working. Check that the sensor door doesn't have an ice cube blocking it from closing From the fans: Tip#1 Stop using ice. Michelle Crosby Annual maintenance is a MUST, depending on your water, here in El Paso the water is so hard with minerals that 7 years is the life expectancy of ice machines. Change your filters, at least every 6 months more if waterlines are broken or whenever you have mandatory boil drinking water. We bought Scotsman nugget ice machines and ironically exactly 7 years they both died, with gearboxes getting water and burning out covid hits, and parts are slim to not available, we switched to Manitowoc insides are stainless steel made in the middle of covid in ITALY bought with fundraiser money right at $9,000 worth. Wow, that was a lot of Gatorades. Joe Messinger, MA, LATC Athletic Trainer/Sports Med. Instructor Bel Air High School/Medical Magnet Hey Jeremy, my school gets my ice machines serviced annually and has a service contract. My one horror story is that this company came recently without my advanced knowledge to service both on the same day and so drained them both and left me without ice for the day. Luckily I didn't need it so badly that day David Silverstein Michelle Crosby - My coaches take care of water for games, etc. and we utilize water systems we've made that hook up to spigots for practices. During times I need a cold tub set up for heat illness, we do have an ice machine but I also Freeze 1g pails of water to lessen the amount we take from the ice machine (and wear and tear). For injuries, I'll use an ice cup every now and then or a reusable ice pack if necessary (rarely). Honestly, I function without an ice machine for 90% of the year. Keep up the good work! Like a stagnant summer pond grows algae and hatches mosquitos; the stale, wet confines of a freshwater tank can be a breeding ground for bacteria, protozoa, algae and mould. When you take your RV out of storage, we suggest you take time to sanitize your tank.By not having clean drinking water, the chances of illness increase. Many enthusiasts use inline water filters and while they'll remove sediment, chlorine, and some heavy metals, they often won't prevent microorganisms from getting in. Serious contamination is easier than you may think. It only takes a careless moment by someone at the dump station to contaminate the freshwater fill hose or you could fill your tank somewhere before the boil water advisory becomes public.

In this podcast, I reply to several people who have asked me why I allow bleach solution into my RVs hot water tank as part of my RV dewinterzation plumbing sanitization process. I cite a study that shows that a very diluted bleach solution left in the metal hot water tank for a very short period holds little long-term risk of corroding the tank vs. the greater health risk of not sanitizing the tank.

Most vendors are being very flexible and understanding. If you don't have a planner, the absolute first thing you need to do is call your venue. Keep a paper trail, as well. Email is important so you know exactly what you agreed. After the venue, trickle down to the other vendors. Don't forget to contact your sales rep at hotels for your room blocks. Everyone is feeling the pain of this crisis. Cough or sneeze into your elbow! Don't shake hands. Wash your hands for 20-30 seconds aka two rounds of “happy birthday.” Sanitize and disinfect your phone, light switches, and doorknobs! Don't panic. Look up your local county health website and have the emergency number handy. From Irina of Allé Travel (Episode 142) Airlines are being very accommodating. The only issue is hold times for calls. Delta reported over 6 hours wait times. All airlines are trying to make it easier to make changes online. Try calling at off hours, if you need to reach immediately. If it's not urgent, hold off a couple days. The big need is getting Americans back to America. When it comes to hotels, the best bet is rescheduling, not cancelling.
