On this week's episode Eric and Eric preview week 6 of our study following the video series “Your Time is Now” with Jonathan Evans on RightNow Media. In this final week of the study, Jonathan challenges us to “Press On.” He asks us to consider these questions: * When was the last time you gave up on something? Why didn't you finish? * Why are we tempted to give up when life gets hard? * How can suffering impact our relationship with God? * How can we persevere through hard times? Here are the links for this week's lesson: Video Link: https: https://app.rightnowmedia.org/en/player/video/485846?session=485864 Study Guide Link: https://reader.rightnowmedia.org/1303/485864
On this week's episode Eric and Eric preview week 5 of our study following the video series “Your Time is Now” with Jonathan Evans on RightNow Media. This week, Jonathan challenges us to be patient and wait on God in our circumstances. This week may be more challenging than last week was! He asks us to consider these questions: * When have you been somewhere—maybe in a class or at an event—and you couldn't wait to leave? How did you get through it? * Why is it better to wait on God instead of going our own way? * How can waiting be the best way for us to move forward in life? * In what ways does waiting help us rejoice in the plan God has for our life? This week will be challenging because we struggle with waiting. We want things that we want when we want them, but sometimes God has other plans. Here are the links for this week's lesson: Video Link: https: https://app.rightnowmedia.org/en/player/video/485846?session=485863 Study Guide Link: https://reader.rightnowmedia.org/1303/485863
On this week's episode Eric and Eric preview week 4 of our study following the video series “Your Time is Now” with Jonathan Evans on RightNow Media. This week, Jonathan challenges us to consider what is hindering us from following God's call on our lives. He asks us to consider these questions: * What are some of the excuses we make for not listening to God's call on our lives? * How can your comfort zone keep you from following God? * Why is faith in God important when you don't know your final destination? This week will be challenging because we all make excuses. We all have our comfort zones that we do not want to leave. And let's be honest, as men most of want full details and want to consider all obstacles before we embark on a new journey. That is not what God calls us to. Here are the links for this week's lesson: Video Link: https://app.rightnowmedia.org/en/player/video/485846?session=485862 Study Guide Link: https://reader.rightnowmedia.org/1303/485862
We had a conversation with two of our Shepherds about the Holy Spirit and Transformation and how we can use these foundational truths on our faith journey.
Welcome to week 3 of our study of “Your Time is Now.” This week, we are focusing on how we need to trust God to use us even when we think there is no way that he can or would use us. As you listen to the podcast and then watch the video, please consider these questions as you go in: When have you felt left out (maybe in grade school or while playing sports)? What emotions did you experience from being left out? How should we handle experiences from our past that made us feel unwanted? What is the difference between how God sees us and how people see us? In what ways can we observe a person's heart by their actions? Remember that God has a different perspective than we do on whom he uses and how he uses them, and he's ready and willing to use you Right Now. Below you will find links to the video and the study guide for the week. We look forward to talking with you soon! Welcome to a Special Episode of Grasp the Sword! As most of us get ready for Christmas, we take a minute to remember a baby who was born to us as the Savior of the World! Shea and Eric discuss Old Testament Prophecies that pointed to Jesus' birth. They discuss the turmoil that the Jews underwent and some of the turmoil that we face today. They also read through a narrative of the birth of Jesus from Matthew and Luke. They share how Jesus coming in the way he did was not God's meeting our expectations of a savior, but that God blows up our expectations. Special thanks to our Praise team for coming in and recording a few songs for us. As always, they did a fantastic job! Also special thanks to John Redden for his help with the recording and prepping for the podcast! From the Life on Purpose podcast, we wish you a very Merry Christmas! In this week's episode Eric and Eric recap week four of our study of the book “Fight” by Craig Groeschel as we prepare for the final video in the series. They hit some highlights from the week and noted some points of note from the book and from the study guide. They also highlight some key points from week 5. This week, we will be focusing on week 5 of the video series and study guide. Week 5 is the most exciting video of the series because it shows the grace that God offered to Samson and the grace that God offers to each of us as men who constantly make mistakes. We get to see that even though we make mistakes, God can still us to fulfill his purposes. We also deal with the idea that “Failure is an event, it is never a person.” If you are listening to this at a later time, here is a link to the book and study guide that we are going through. A key thought continues to be, “Satan loves to make strong men weak. But God is in the business of making weak men strong.” We look forward to what God will shows us this week and how we can be the men of God he has called us to be.
