The Bible teaches the importance of guarding your heart and mind, as what you listen to can significantly impact your spiritual well-being. In Matthew 11:15, Jesus says, "Whoever has ears, let them hear," emphasizing the importance of not only hearing but discerning what you allow into your life and the lives of those around you. The things you listen to shape your thoughts, influence your actions, and ultimately direct your path and the paths of those around you.Proverbs 4:23 says, "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." Your little ears are gateways to your heart, and if you constantly expose yourself to negativity, gossip, or worldly wisdom, it can corrupt your thoughts and lead you away from God's truth. As a follower of Christ, you must be intentional about what you allow to enter your mind through your little ears. The words you listen to should align with God's truth, build up your faith, and encourage righteousness. In Romans 10:17, Paul writes, "Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ." Be mindful of the voices you allow to speak into your life and seek to fill your little ears with the life-giving Word of God.Referenced Verses: Proverbs 4:14-17Matthew 5:181 Corinthians 15:331 Corinthians 5:11Proverbs 22:24-25Proverbs 13:20Mark 4:24-Social Media Ministries, founded by Spencer Coffman, is committed to sharing the Word of God with the entire world. Kyle Kauffman | July 13 2025 Paul finds himself in the midst of a situation that could easily cause anyone to buckle. He is being accused and put on trial before some of the most powerful political rulers who are able to determine his fate. Yet we see Paul remain faithful to Christ and remain faithful to proclaiming the gospel even in the face of such a stressful situation. We know that as disciples we too will walk through distressing situations and circumstances in this life. What we find in the story of Paul can supply us with encouragement and wisdom for how we can face those situations with confidence that God will carry us through them.
"Be Careful Little Eyes What You See" is a powerful sermon that directs you to reflect on the impact of what you allow into your heart and mind through your little eyes. This message calls you to be intentional and discerning about the things you expose yourself to. The eyes are often considered the gateway to the soul, and what you choose to look at can shape your thoughts, desires, and ultimately, your actions. You must examine the media, entertainment, relationships, and environments you engage with daily. Whether it's the images you consume, the words you read, or the places you visit, all have the potential to either uplift or lead you astray. By prioritizing purity and focusing on what is good, true, and praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8), you can protect your heart and live in alignment with God's will.Ultimately, this sermon serves as a reminder that your little eyes, and what they see, have a profound influence on your spiritual journey. You must be vigilant and mindful in guarding what you allow to enter your life and the lives of those around you.Referenced Verses: Matthew 6:22-23Psalms 101:3Job 31:1Matthew 5:292 Samuel 11:2-Social Media Ministries, founded by Spencer Coffman, is committed to sharing the Word of God with the entire world. This rest is necessary. We have so many habits and addictions waiting to devour us and we need to have rest physically and digitally from what can potentially overtake us. There are even so many opportunities for us to sin with the access that we have digitally. Opportunity to covet. Opportunity to lust. Opportunity to put trust in man or self. Opportunity to fear. Opportunity to feel insecure. The list is long and its never what it was meant to be. What did God intend this life to be about? Its always been about HIm. The glorification of our savior. To know HIM. To love HIM. To serve HIM. To point other people to him. We need clarity and sobriety of our minds to do all these things well and what gives us clarity is to have more space for that clearer mind to happen. chrome://external-file/7%20Rhythms%20of%20a%20Disciple.pdf.pdf

Hamilton is a husband, Bible teacher, a national radio host & TV host, a lawyer & homeschool father who was a keynote speaker for ICHE’s 2025 Conference, themed “This We Believe.” Hamilton encourages listeners to prioritize homeschooling, because: “For far too long, people have failed to recognize that mind cultivation is essential to disciple making. So if we would export and cede the authority to cultivate our childrens’ hearts and minds to people whose positions really are hostile to Scripture, then we could very well be ceding our children to a context against what we ultimately want to see, which is that 3 John 4:4 phenomenon.… Continue Reading

Kyle Kauffman | July 6 2025 Have you ever seen someone before who looks so familiar that you know you've seen them before but you can't quite seem to place where you've seen them? A similar reality might happen to us as we read Acts 21-23. On first glance what Paul does in this passage almost appears foolish. This great missionary goes to Jerusalem to offer a gift to the people there knowing that he will be accused, mistreated, and imprisoned by those very people. And yet what we discover is that we have seen this very story played out before in the life of the Savior who Paul has given his life to proclaim. We discover the path Paul walks in Acts 21-23 is familiar because it's the path Jesus walked to save Paul (and us!). And we find that this is a path that every disciple of Jesus is called to walk down in some way. Though the ways we follow in the footsteps may look different then Paul, we find that every disciple of Jesus is called to follow in his footsteps of love.
In this busy, fast-paced world, the call to give God more time can often be challenging. You juggle work, family, and countless other responsibilities, leaving little room for spiritual growth. But what if the key to experiencing true peace and purpose lies in the simple fact that you need to give God more time? There is tremendous importance in dedicating intentional time to God amidst the busyness of life. Scripture encourages believers to "seek first the kingdom of God" (Matthew 6:33), reminding you that when you place God at the center of your daily routines, everything else falls into place. By carving out moments each day to pray, read Scripture, and simply be in His presence, you allow God to guide and transform your life. It's not about having more hours in the day but about making the most of the time you already have. As you give God more time, you deepen your relationship with Him, find clarity in your purpose, and experience the abundant life He promises.Make the commitment to give God more time in your life and discover the joy that comes from seeking Him first.Referenced Verses: Proverbs 16:3Colossians 3:2Matthew 6:331 Peter 4:3-4Luke 12:34Deuteronomy 4:24-Social Media Ministries, founded by Spencer Coffman, is committed to sharing the Word of God with the entire world. Kyle Kauffman | Jun 29 2025 The Poet C.T. Studd once famously said, “Only one life,' twill soon be past, Only what's done for Christ will last.” No one sets out to waste their lives. And yet there are all sorts of ways we can end up wasting our them. We all want to spend our lives well. But sometimes we never even slow down to ask, What does a life well spent look like? In Acts 20, we get Paul's farewell speech to leaders of the Ephesian church. As we listen in to these passionate last words of Paul to this small group of men, we get a glimpse of what a life spent well looks like. We see what the greatest passion of Paul's life was and how that got worked out into the ways he lived. And we find direction for what it means to spend our lives well rather than wasting them.

Joel Wood June 22 2025In a world filled with confusion, brokenness, and spiritual darkness, how does real transformation happen? In Acts 18–19, the Apostle Paul enters two very different and very diffit cities — Corinth, known for its global commerce, rampant immorality and cultural corruption, and Ephesus, a hub of spiritual idolatry, magic, and political power. What happens next is nothing short of miraculous: people come to faith, lives are changed, and communities are impacted — not through flashy programs or celebrity preachers, but through the simple, powerful, personal method of discipleship. Walking with people. Teaching truth. Clarifying faith, and boldly speaking the Gospel in the power of the Holy Spirit. No matter who you are or what you do, God has placed you where you are for a reason. And as you walk faithfully with Jesus, He will use you to help others do the same and be a part of transforming lives and communities.

Brandon Fisher | Jun 15 2025How can we seek to be effective in reaching a 21st century world? On a more manageable level, how can we seek to be effective in simply reaching our neighbors, friends, and family members who don't know Jesus? In Acts 17 we get a glimpse into how the apostle Paul sought to both know and proclaim the scriptures and know and understand the audience he was speaking to. While it may be unlikely that any of us will ever stand in front of a group of philosophers and skeptics to deliver a sermon, we can learn valuable insights into how we can grow in our own effectiveness and ability to communicate the gospel to others through what we discover in Acts 17.

Matt continues our sermon series through 2 Timothy called Keep The Faith. He covers 2 Timothy 2:2 in his sermon, "Guard the Good Deposit Making Disciples."
Discipleship involves intentionally placing and aiming individuals, like stones in a building, to create a strong structure. It requires showing them their order and purpose, rather than letting them drift aimlessly. This means providing spiritual guidance and direction, helping them understand how to serve Jesus in their chosen professions and roles.

Kyle Kauffman | Jun 8 2025 We've all likely come across (or used) the phrase “Jesus saves.” While that can easily become a cliché, those two words seek to communicate a powerful reality: Jesus is the only one who can save people AND he is the one who is still at work in this world saving people. In Acts 16 we get a glimpse into how Jesus continues to work through his disciples to save people. This is one of the only places where Acts gets very specific in describing to us the types of people that Jesus saved and how Jesus saved them. It should be an encouragement to us that Jesus can save all types of people, and he can save them in all sorts of different ways even as he uses us as part of his work to save them.

247. How do we know if something is actually a Christian idea or not? Kyle Kauffman | June 1 2025It is often said that defense wins championships. In Acts 15 we also discover that defense preserves the gospel and the mission of the church. In Acts 15 we read about one of the first major threats to the gospel. It is inevitable that the true gospel will be threatened through addition, subtraction, or simply assumption. Often these threats come from within the church rather than outside the church. We must be prepared to recognize threats to the gospel and to defend and preserve the truth gospel of grace. If we lose the message that we are saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone, then we no longer have a mission that is worth pursuing. But if we hold fast to this true gospel that has been passed onto us and remain unified around it, then we have every reason to continue in the mission to spread this gospel to others.

Listen to Tom Regan preach on 1st Thessalonians 1:1 and Acts 17:1-9 as part of our sermon series called The Spirit, The Word, and The Church. This sermon was originally preached on Sunday, June 1 2025.
If you want your words to carry power, you have to stop speaking like a beggar and start praying like a BELIEVER.I think so often, we talk TO God and not WITH God. So often we forget that its a two way relationship. A two way conversation and that just as much as God desires to hear from us, He also desires that we hear from Him. Stop praying uncertain prayers about things God has already promised like healing, provision, and peace. Know His will and declare it. 1 John 5:14 says “this is the confidence we have in approaching God; that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 2.We don't need to pray “God be with me..” You don't need to ask God to be with you, He promised He already is. Instead thank him for his present and walk in it. Hebrews 13:5 says I will never leave you or forsake you. Declare God is with you now and always. I walk with His presence, not apart from it.
How how are we supposed to step into the very thing that Jesus commands us to do -- Go and make disciples? What if Christianity is so much more than just the Sunday gathering?Discipleship is truly learning and knowing what it means to walk every single day with Jesus. Our hope for you is that you would get a framework today to walk away with, to know how easy and accessible it is to step into the Great Commission; that you would give your life to seeing the Great Commission fulfilled in our day.1 You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus, 2 and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also. 3 Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. 4 No soldier gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him. 5 An athlete is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. 6 It is the hard-working farmer who ought to have the first share of the crops. 7 Think over what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in everything.8 Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, the offspring of David, as preached in my gospel, 9 for which I am suffering, bound with chains as a criminal. But the word of God is not bound! 10 Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. 11 The saying is trustworthy, for:If we have died with him, we will also live with him;12 if we endure, we will also reign with him;if we deny him, he also will deny us;13 if we are faithless, he remains faithful—for he cannot deny himself.2 Timothy 2:1-13We'd love for you to subscribe to our channel and turn on notifications to get updates on our latest content and resources that will help more people know Jesus and people know Jesus more.GIVE : We believe that generosity is golden. In this episode, we explore how the "spirit of the age", driven by hyper-individualism, instant gratification, and moral relativism, directly challenges biblical discipleship in our daily lives. Joel Wood | May 25 2025It's easy for us to give up on being a part of God's mission in this world. Perhaps that's because we feel ill-equipped to be part of God's mission. Perhaps that's because we have faced opposition or apathy from others when we have tried to tell them about Jesus. Perhaps it's because the difficulty and suffering of our lives has left us feeling like we can no longer take part in God's mission. Whatever it may be, there will always be reasons for us to “give up” on the mission of making disciples. Acts 14 gives us a window into why perseverance is required and how God enables us to persevere in the mission.

In a world full of trouble, we're tempted to focus on what we CAN'T control instead of what we CAN do. Jesus told his disciples that through the power of the Holy Spirit they would do even greater works than he did. “We Can Do It” is a reminder of what really matters and a return to the simple ways of Jesus: Doing life together, loving our neighbors, reaching the lost, and making disciples. If you're ready to live a life that makes a difference, this series is for you! It will challenge you, equip you, and inspire you to change the world.
If every person that made a profession of faith at our churches' altars was still attending, our churches could not hold the people. So why is this not so? There is a lack of discipleship from the church to accept new believers. God help us become greater mentors to disciple new babes in Christ!
We find a stirring picture of the lack of discipleship in the family of God, through Job 39 and the image of a mother Ostrich, abandoning and forgetting her eggs. God tells us this is the opposite of what we're supposed to do!
In part 3 of the series, we continue to study Job 39 and the image of a mother Ostrich, abandoning and forgetting her eggs. God tells us this is the opposite of what we're supposed to do as we disciple new christians.
Today on the show, we're answering the question, “How do we identify when spring is here?” with Pastor Jon Tyson. Jon is the pastor of Church of the City in New York and a best selling author. We're going to talk about identifying spring, revival and resurrection, and what role we play in all of it. This is also our last episode before Holy Week and Easter, since we don't release episodes during Holy Week, so we also talk about ways to enter into this next week as we finish Lent and celebrate the resurrection. And if you're following along in your TSF Seasons Guidebook, we're on page 45. As always, if you still want to get a Guidebook and join us, you can find it at anniefdowns.com/seasons. As you know, we don't release shows during Holy Week, but we do have an entire Holy Week playlist that you can go back and listen to where I read the Scripture from each day of that week leading up to Easter. . . . . .
