Join Me for the 12-Day Homeschool Mom Self-Care Challenge A homeschool mom self-care challenge that honours you. Homeschool mama, I see you. December is here, and it feels like an avalanche of ALL the things.Every month as a homeschool mom is full, but December? It's a whole new level. You're trying to finish things up, or you’re moving into a unit study on Christmas, you’re purchasing, prepping, planning, and playing—and you just added a part time-job to your full-time job. But as a homeschool mama, when December rolls around, mama ain’t looking after herself, she’s looking, after ALL the things. And though ALL the things are a whole lot of things EVERY other month, December’s ALL the things is an exponential set of things. Though you’re trying to do all the things, fulfill the expectations, and make it magical for your kids, you can’t do a little bit more if you didn’t already incorporate an approach to maintain margins and pursue purposeful living. That's why I'm inviting you to join me for the 12-Day Self-Care Challenge for Homeschool Moms. This isn't another TO DO list. It's a TO GIVE list—a way to give back to yourself. Join the 12 Day Self-Care Challenge Why Self-Care Matters As homeschool moms, we have a unique calling. We're deeply present with our kids, invested in their well-being, and working hard to create meaningful memories and learning experiences. We savor moments of: Watching our kids harmoniously play together (sometimes). Cheering them on as they tackle new challenges. Seeing their excitement as they pursue new interests. Building lifelong memories as a family. But there's another side to this season: The constant stream of emotions (theirs and ours). Sibling squabbles. Complaints and meltdowns. And, of course, the never-ending mundane tasks—laundry, dishes, meals, and errands. Even when we handle these challenges with grace, the emotional and mental investment is enormous. Add the holidays to the mix, and it's no wonder we feel stretched thin. The Secret Ingredient to a (more) Peaceful Holiday Season Here's the thing: you matter too. Your well-being is not just an afterthought—it's the foundation of a happy family life and a peaceful holiday season. Self-care: Refills your energy so you can approach the holidays with calm and joy. Models healthy balance and boundaries for your children. Helps you manage stress and let go of perfection. Strengthens your emotional resilience to handle challenges with patience and grace. Creates space for joy and presence, helping you savor the small, magical moments. When you care for yourself, you're giving your family the best gift of all—a peaceful, grounded, and joyful mama. What You'll Get in the 12-Day Challenge In just fifteen minutes a day—maybe even five—you'll explore simple, practical self-care strategies that fit into your busy December. These strategies aren't just for the holidays; they're tools to carry into the new year, helping you nurture yourself and your family with greater ease and satisfaction. By the end of these 12 days, you'll feel: More energized. More connected to yourself. And more at peace as you move through this beautiful, busy season. And so we must take care of ourselves. Join the 12 Days of Homeschool Mom Self-Care Challenge Join Me—You Deserve This So, homeschool mama, this is your invitation to take a breath, step back, and remember that you are worth nurturing. Let's do this together. This December, give yourself the gift of care, calm, and connection. Join the 12-Day Self-Care Challenge for Homeschool Moms and rediscover the joy of the season—not just for your family, but for you too. Just fifteen minutes a day. You've got this. Rainy Night/ Highway Motel — spend a mid-90s motel overnight perched above a highway during a thunderstorm. So after graduating from military boarding school, I faced a nearly thousand-mile drive from deep in the Southeast to the Hudson Valley in New York. I believe we stopped to rest somewhere near Frackville, PA. It was late, and the skies were awash with rain and flashes of lightning. My father was exhausted, and he was almost immediately asleep after tossing the dust cover off the bed.My heart was racing from the new freedoms I faced. No more reveille, no more taps; no more drill or retired military folks ordering me around. (I was a **** student who had to regularly navigate a retired Command Sergeant Major.) I was free—at least for a few months, before I would attempt another military school (college).Whatever. That night I was free, old enough to try cigarettes or die in war. Mr. High School Graduate. The summer felt like a budding verification of me. I had settled something, unshackled myself from societal expectations. I was going to be a big deal (oh, youth and your unobtainable optomism). All of which is to say: I couldn't sleep. I was excited. Also extremely bored. The motel room was stuffy. I couldn't have the volume too high on the manual television—it would wake my father (not that there was anything on anyway). All my Wizard magazines and Mack Bolan novels were packed in the U-Haul box with wheels (the mid-90s being a decade or more before smartphones). So I read Jonah in the room's complimentary gold book… about a guy who refuses the Almighty and tries to escape across the Mediterranean. Jonah's boat is hit with a giant storm, and the other folks on the boat are like, “**** you, dude,” and toss him into the sea. Where he's eaten by a giant fish. And somehow lives half-a-week in a fish without a tv set.I remember wishing I had packed Detroit Deathwatch in the car.

Exciting opportunity for small to medium business owners employing 5-30 team members. Are you ready to learn, grow, and invest in your ongoing development? Don't miss out on our latest podcast featuring a special guest who shares invaluable insights for business success. In this episode, Troy asked Brian Will, the founder of Brian Will based in United States of America, the final five questions: What does Brian think is the most challenging aspect of expanding a small business? You're going to have to check your ego and get out of your own way if you're going to grow because the reality is that if you're growing your first business, you don't know what you're doing. Brian acknowledges that this can be difficult, but he emphasizes the importance of it. And that's why you need a coach and a mentor.” Brian's favorite business book is a. Rich Dad, Poor Dad, and b. Blink by Malcolm Gladwell, and c. the E-Myth. Additionally, he emphasizes the value of lifelong learning by encouraging readers to read books and listen to podcasts that can advance their knowledge whether or not they hold a degree. Regarding professional development, Brian finds immense value in listening to positive business podcasts including podcasts by Bradley and Ed Mylett that discuss how to grow, and how to keep yourself out of trouble. Brian suggests an effective tool for small business growth is mastering accounting, getting a good mentor, and a good CRM system. He also has tools that he developed for his business that allow him to track everything inside the restaurant chain. The last thing Brian would tell himself if he could go back in time is to be patient and to keep going no matter how many times he falters since, in the end, there will always be fruit in all hard effort. Book a 20-minute Growth Chat with Troy Trewin to see if you qualify for our upcoming course. Don't miss out on this opportunity to take your small business to new heights! Enjoyed the podcast? Today's Post - https://bahnsen.co/42yYfgC This was a big week in the Bahnsen household, but really for many families all over the country. Joleen and I celebrated the graduation from high school of our firstborn son, Mitchell. Many of you likely had kids, grandkids, and loved ones celebrate some graduation as well (college or high school). They are all special and memorable, and if you suffer from the same chronic nostalgia syndrome that I do, maybe these events bring back memories of your own graduation. I believe some of the emotion this week was not just in seeing our own firstborn celebrate this milestone but also in the gratitude I have for the high school he attended, a passion project of mine for the last ten years. A lot more has gone into this week than meets the eye, and I feel truly blessed. Today so many young people enter adulthood with a sense of pessimism, gloom, and uncertainty. There is often widespread financial ignorance as to “how to be,” and there is almost always an underlying negativity about the economic trajectory of our communities, or country, or even the world. The positive of high school graduation can be met with the daunting challenges of adult life in the category of finance, vocation, and economics. I want to devote this week's Dividend Cafe to that young man or woman leaving high school or college, ready to start adult life. I imagine there will be some takeaways that seem relevant to all readers. But my special focus is on those entering adult life looking for some broad, practical takeaways about finance and economics. Our entry into adulthood is hard enough as it is – there is no reason to make it harder with a stunted worldview on such an important part of human life. Jeff is speaking with Brandon Melendez, a fellow pilot he met while training at American Flyers. Growing up in Queens, NY, Brandon says that aviation was never in his family. His love for flying came from video games and from a young age Brandon knew what he wanted to do. Brandon's grandfather was the one to tell him about an aviation high school that offered regular academics alongside aviation courses to give you a head start. It was a perfect fit for Brandon that landed him a job at Delta the same day he picked up his diploma. With his first aviation job as an aircraft support mechanic, Brandon knew he would someday work himself up to pilot. Brandon was so impatient to get his pilot's license before he really had the money to do so, that he did it in bits and pieces. Looking back, he says it actually ended up taking him longer and costing him more. Either way, now with his private pilots license, Brandon was on top of the world. He remembers it being a time of creating memories as he did Hudson River tours for friends and frequented aviation restaurants. Brandon went on to earn his commercial pilot's license and become a certified flight instructor. Having recently crossed the 1000-hour mark, Brandon has applied to regional airlines and accepted a job offer. What You'll Learn: How an aviation high school in NY set the foundation for Brandon's career. What it takes to earn a pilot license-both private and commercial. Why not all CFI courses are created equal. Why going to Texas was one of the best decisions Brandon ever made. Favorite Quote: “Sometimes it's hard when you're on this journey, you forget to self reflect on your accomplishments.” – Brandon Melendez
