Today's world is filled with things that distract us and compete for our attention. David teaches us that we can walk in integrity when we keep God's love before our eyes and worship Him. Devotionables #755 - Keep Your Eyes on the Steadfast Love of God Psalm 26 The PsalmsDevotionables is a ministry of The Ninth & O Baptist Church in Louisville, KY. naobc.org
An episode from Berean Baptist Church, an independent body of King James Bible believers located in Springfield Missouri. We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be the verbally and plenary inspired Word of God. The Scriptures are inerrant, infallible and God-breathed, and therefore are the final authority for faith and life. The sixty-six books of the Old and New Testament are the complete and divine revelation of God to Man. The Scriptures shall be interpreted according to their normal grammatical-historical meaning. We believe that God's Word has been divinely preserved in the English language and commonly known as the Authorized King James Version. Therefore, the Authorized King James Version shall be the official and only translation used by the church. (II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21). We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but that in Adam's sin the human race fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God; and, that man is totally depraved, and of himself, utterly unable to remedy his lost condition (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:22-23, 5:12, 6:23; Ephesians 2:1-3, 4:17-19). We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins (John 1:12; Ephesians 1:7, 2:8-10; I Peter 1:18-19). We believe that all the redeemed, once saved, are kept by God's power and are thus secure in Christ forever (John 6:37-40; 10:27-30; Romans 8:1, 38-39; I Cor.1: 4-8; I Peter 1:4-5).We believe that it is the privilege of believers to rejoice in the assurance of their salvation through the testimony of God's Word, which, however clearly forbids the use of Christian liberty as an occasion to the flesh (Romans 13:13-14; Galatians 5:13; Titus 2:11-15).We believe in that “blessed hope,” the personal, imminent return of Christ who will rapture all believers prior to the seven-year tribulation period. At the end of the Tribulation, Christ will personally and visibly return with His saints, to establish His earthly Messianic Kingdom, which was promised to the nation of Israel (Psalm 89:3-4; Daniel 2:31-45; Zechariah 14:4-11; I Thessalonians 1:10, 4:13-18; Titus 2:13; Revelation 3:10, 19:11-16, 20:1-6).The Berean Baptist Church Statement of Faith does not exhaust the extent of our faith. The Bible itself is the sole and final authority of all that we believe. We do believe, however, that this statement of faith accurately represents the teaching of the Bible. You may visit Berean Baptist Church's websitehttps://bereansgf.org/ or write to them at:507 East Norton Rd,Springfield, MO 65803 The KJV Bible Preaching Churches Podcast is directly supported by Doss Metrics LLC | Ministry Services based out of Cleveland Texas. SHOW NOTES: On this show..we're diving into a topic that's as inevitable as that laundry pile you've been avoiding: change. Whether it's the subtle shift of seasons or a complete life overhaul, change is the only constant. But fear not! We're here to explore how embracing these twists and turns can lead to a stronger, more resilient you. So, grab your favorite beverage, get comfy, and let's embark on this journey together. Change comes in many forms—planned or unexpected, minor tweaks or major transformations. It's the process of becoming different, and while it can be daunting, it's also a powerful catalyst for personal growth. By understanding change as a natural part of life, we can better prepare ourselves to navigate it. As I reflect on the changes I've navigated in my life, I can't help but sit back and say—WOW. There's a lot to be proud of. Moments I once thought were impossible, I conquered. Others still leave me wondering, Did I really do that? Some changes weren't as thrilling, but they were necessary, and I made it through—not unscathed, but grateful. Moving forward, I want to be prepared for whatever life has in store. While I may never predict what's ahead, I'm convinced that truly knowing myself and standing firm in my values will serve as the lighthouse guiding me through. On Medium, Mazior Nyanyo suggests a reason to Embracing Change: A Journey Towards Personal Growth and Success On the Lily-Jo Project, I found some additional insight on Embracing Change: Navigating a New Normal with Grace Let's lean into the wise words of Simon Sinek on how to Navigate and Embrace Change found on his YouTube channel. Here's how to shift your mindset and apply change effectively to overcome life's challenges. 1. Reframe Change as an Opportunity Instead of seeing change as something that's happening to you, try seeing it as something that's happening for you. Every shift in life—big or small—has the potential to teach you something new.

"Keep Your Eyes on the Track" #RTTBROS #NIGHTLIGHT "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth." - Psalm 121:1-2 In the high-stakes world of Formula One racing, drivers learn a crucial lesson that resonates deeply with our spiritual journey. When spinning out of control at breathtaking speeds, they're taught to focus not on the looming wall, but on the open track ahead. Why? Because we naturally steer toward whatever captures our attention. This principle reflects a profound spiritual truth. Life often feels like we're spinning out of control - relationships fracture, finances falter, health declines, or circumstances overwhelm us. In these moments, it's tempting to fixate on our problems, our fears, our "concrete walls." But just as concrete is unforgiving, dwelling on our troubles rarely leads to solutions. The Psalmist understood this principle. When faced with challenges, he deliberately chose to lift his eyes to the hills - to look up to God rather than down at his circumstances. He knew his help came not from his own abilities or circumstances, but from the Lord, the Creator of heaven and earth. Just as Formula One drivers must train themselves to focus on the open track during a spin, we too must train ourselves to fix our gaze on God when life spins out of control. It's not just about positive thinking - it's about choosing to focus on the One who can guide us through any situation. Today, whatever challenges you face, remember the Formula One principle: you'll head toward what you focus on. Will you focus on the wall of your problems, or will you lift your eyes to the One who can help you find your way back to the open track?

Keep Your Eyes on Your Ears: The Gospel According to LukeLuke 8:1-21The Village Chapel - 12/29/2024This Sunday we will be diving into Luke 8:1-21 where Jesus teaches the transformative power of truly hearing and living out God's Word. From the women who followed Jesus, the parable of the sower, and the illuminating call that His family is made up of those who hear and obey, Jesus challenges us to examine the soil of our hearts. Are we merely hearing the Word, or are we allowing it to take root, grow, and bear fruit in our lives? If not, how do we cultivate hearts that can truly recieve God's word when we hear it? Join us as we uncover what it means to truly hear, respond, and bear fruit in the Kingdom of God.To find more resources like these, follow us:Website: https://thevillagechapel.comYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQVTzDbaiXVUAm_mUBDCTJAInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/tvcnashville/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/tvcnashvilleX: https://twitter.com/tvcnashvilleTo support the ongoing mission of The Village Chapel go to https://thevillagechapel.com/give/. Pastor Mark Julian delivers a dynamic message.
Keep Your Eyes Fixed On JesusMatthew 14:26-31 “When the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were terrified. “It is a ghost,” they said, and they cried out in fear. At once, [Jesus] spoke to them, “Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.” Peter said to him in reply, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.” He said, “Come.” Peter got out of the boat and began to walk on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw how [strong] the wind was, he became frightened, and, beginning to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!” Immediately, Jesus stretched out his hand caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”I love this story. I remember the first time I remember someone talking about it was a speaker at a retreat in England. The theme of the retreat was Radical Trust. I loved that theme from the moment that I heard it. I instantly knew that was what I wanted. I wanted to have radical trust in the Lord. The speaker was talking about how she loved Peter because he was always ready to follow the Lord. It seemed as though he didn't always think before he did things, but that was part of what made him so special.Just before the disciples were on this boat, they had just been with Jesus as he spoke to a large group of people, and they got to be a part of the miracle of feeding the 5,000 men with five loaves of bread and two fish. They just not only witnessed a miracle but got to be a part of it. Afterward, Jesus told them to get in the boat and go ahead to the other side while he dismissed the people. Once the crowds of people had left, Jesus climbed the mountain to be alone to pray with his Father. He stayed there late into the night. Once he was done, He decided to catch up with His disciples on the water. However, it was the middle of the night and all they saw was someone walking towards them on the water. They didn't know who it was and they were afraid.I think we all would have reacted this way if we saw someone walking on the water towards us. However, when they called out to Him, He answered them and told them they had nothing to be afraid of, that it was Jesus. Then I love what Peter did next. He told the Lord if it is really you, command me to come out on the water with you. Jesus said, Come. What happens next is remarkable. Jesus invites Peter out onto the water and Peter gets out of the boat onto the water. I wonder how many of us would have the courage to ask the Lord to invite us to join Him, and then when He did, how many of us would actually be brave enough to get out of the boat.I have asked the Lord for many things. I have asked Him to use me for healing, and then I have absolutely had times when He said ok, and yet I was too afraid to do what He called me to do. Has this ever happened to you? You asked the Lord for something, and then when he said yes, you were surprised, and also you were afraid? I love that Peter just stepped out of the boat, and He was walking on the water with the Lord, at least for a bit. That is amazing. Imagine the opportunity Peter would have missed out on if he hadn't asked or if he hadn't gotten out of the boat. I wonder if all the other apostles were sad they hadn't asked the Lord to call them out of the boat? The next part is a part I think we can all relate to. Peter got out of the boat. He was walking on water to the Lord, and all was great, and then he took his eyes off of Jesus and looked at the world around him. Instead of keeping his eyes fixed on Jesus, he looked around and saw how [strong] the wind was, he became frightened and began to sink. I think we have all been here before, too. We had our eyes fixed on Jesus, we knew we were doing what He called us to do, all was going great, and then we started to look around us. We noticed others talking about us, we noticed the circumstances around us were different, we got enticed by our surroundings, and we stopped doing what we knew we should do.God is not always calling us to do something that is easy. He is not always calling us to do something that will feel good, or that will please others. Remember, Paul was thrown into prison while he was doing the work God called him to do. He was not in prison for disobeying the Lord, he was following the Lord's direction and was imprisoned for it. You may know that you are doing the right thing, and yet if you take your eyes off Jesus and look around you, it may seem like the circumstances around you are overwhelming. If you start to listen to those around you, you may start to sink, just as Peter did.I think it is important for us all to remember what happened to Peter so that if we are in a similar circumstance, we will know what to do. When Peter took his eyes off Jesus, and he started to sink, he cried out to the Lord, and the Lord saved Him. It says in the verse above, “He cried out, “Lord, save me!” Immediately, Jesus stretched out his hand, caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” It does not say that Jesus took His time to walk over to Peter and to help him out. It says that Jesus immediately stretched out His hand and caught him. Jesus will do the same for you.We should try our best to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus. When we do, we will not stray from the path God has laid out for us. We will not feel stressed out or overwhelmed because we will know that God is there to lead us and help us. However, when we do take our eyes off Jesus, which we will because we are human and we make mistakes, it is important to know that all we need to do is call out to the Lord, and He will be right there, stretching out his hand to us. God will always be there for us! That we can count on.Dear Heavenly Father, I ask you to bless each one of you listening to this episode today. Lord, you are amazing, and we are so grateful you are calling us all to something amazing. We are sorry when we pull back or are too scared to step into that calling. We are sorry when we step into it and then fall down because we take our eyes off of you. Please help us to keep our eyes fixed on you. We love you, Lord, and we ask all of this in accordance with your will and in Jesus's holy name, Amen!Thank you so much for joining me on this journey to walk boldly with Jesus. What if I told you- you have the ability to see something that's invisible? Listen to this verse from the Bible: Hebrews 11:27, By faith that Moses left Egypt, not fearing the king's anger. He persevered because he saw him who is invisible. This verse is talking about a different kind of sight. Moses was not literally seeing God at that point in the story. He was seeing, believing, and staying focused on God through his “eyes” of faith. Listening in prayer and obediently responding and you can live this way as well. These are all the things that you can do. You'll never be Moses, but you are you. And you follow Jesus, and you will learn to keep your eyes on the One who is invisible. Who can you invite to join you as you learn to see God through eyes of faith? Remember, there is always hope with God.
