Summary of Judges 18:In Judges 18, the tribe of Dan is still seeking a homeland. They send five spies who find the peaceful city of Laish. On the way, they discover a man named Micah who has a shrine, an idol, and a Levite priest. The Danites later return with 600 men, steal Micah's idols, and convince the priest to come with them. They attack Laish, burn it, and rebuild it as "Dan." They set up the idol, and Jonathan, a descendant of Moses, becomes their priest. This chapter highlights Israel's moral confusion during the time when "everyone did what was right in his own eyes."Your words were found and I ate them
It's Thursday, April 24th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark India Supreme Court heard appeal about anti-conversion laws India's Supreme Court heard an appeal last week against anti-conversion laws in the country. The advocacy group Citizens for Justice and Peace has filed petitions against such laws since 2020. Twelve out of India's 28 states have anti-conversion laws. International Christian Concern warns of a “pattern of abuse by Hindu radical groups, who use the laws to initiate false complaints and pressure law enforcement to act against individual Christians and their communities, often without credible evidence.” U.S. military presence in Syria cut in half The United States is preparing to cut its military presence in Syria by half over the coming months. The U.S. military has about 2,000 troops in the Middle Eastern country. Sean Parnell, the chief spokesman for the Pentagon, said, “Recognizing the success the United States has had against ISIS, including its 2019 territorial defeat under President Trump, today the Secretary of Defense directed the consolidation of U.S. forces in Syria under Combined Joint Task Force.” Trump: 145% tariff on Chinese goods will come down On Tuesday, President Donald Trump said that his 145% tariff on imports from China will likely come down. TRUMP: 145% is very high. It won't be that high. We were talking about fentanyl, where various elements built it up to 145%. No, it won't be anywhere near that high. But it won't be zero. Used to be zero. “We were just destroyed. China was taking us for a ride, and it's not going to happen. We're going to be very good to China. Have a great relationship with President Xi. But they would make billions and billions and billions of dollars a year, and they would build their military out of the United States, and what they made. So that won't happen, but they're going to do very well.” White House spokesman Kush Desai told FOX Business that the U.S. is not looking to unilaterally lower tariffs and that China must a agree to a trade deal. Trump's Task Force to Eradicate Anti-Christian Bias meets On Tuesday, Trump administration officials held the inaugural meeting of the Task Force to Eradicate Anti-Christian Bias in the federal government. Attorney General Pamela Bondi hosted the meeting. BONDI: “As President Trump has stated, the Biden administration engaged in an egregious pattern of targeting peaceful Christians while ignoring violent, anti-Christian offenses. The President is right. “Biden's Department of Justice abused and targeted Christians. Pro-life Christians were arrested and imprisoned for peacefully praying outside abortion clinics. The FBI spied on traditional Catholics in their parishes. President Biden declared Easter Sunday to be Transgender Day of Visibility. No longer.” Romans 13:3 says, “For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same.” 5 million student loan borrowers who stopped paying need to start again The U.S. Department of Education announced Monday that it will resume collections of defaulted federal student loans. The Department has not collected on such loans since 2020. Currently, over 42 million borrowers owe more than $1.6 trillion in student debt. And over five million borrowers have not made a monthly payment in the last three years. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon said, “American taxpayers will no longer be forced to serve as collateral for irresponsible student loan policies.” Notorious abortionist closes Colorado abortion mill The oldest and most notorious abortionist in Colorado announced he is closing his abortion mill. Warren Hern, age 86, opened the Boulder Abortion Clinic in 1975, killing thousands of unborn babies since then. In an interview with Channel 9 in Denver two years ago, Hern described his work of killing babies this way. HERN: “I have always felt this is an extremely important service, and there's never been a time when it's less important.” But you get a fuller appreciation of the mindset of abortionist Hern from a speech he gave via video at a Boulder pro-abortion march on July 9, 2022, just days after Roe v. Wade had been overturned on June 22, 2022. HERN: “The Republican Party is the face of fascism in America. Fox News is the voice of fascism in America. The ideology of this fascism is rooted in the white supremacist, Christian nationalist movement that has taken control of the Republican Party. “Your response to this mortal danger to women and to democracy in America must be to support every Democratic candidate for public office and to defeat every single Republican candidate for public office. Nothing else will do.” Troy Newman with Operation Rescue commented on the closure. He said, “Operation Rescue has some thirty years of history with this clinic – everything from activism on the sidewalk, documenting abortion injuries, filing complaints, and other legal efforts to expose wrongdoing. … We cannot praise God enough for the closure of this monstrous killing center.” Proverbs 10:6-7 says, “Blessings are on the head of the righteous, but violence covers the mouth of the wicked. The memory of the righteous is blessed, but the name of the wicked will rot.” Definition of a regular churchgoer A recent study from Lifeway Research found 53% of U.S. adults consider someone a regular churchgoer if they attend services at least weekly. A previous study found a similar amount of Protestant churchgoers agree. However, only 16% of Protestant pastors say that regular churchgoers attend at least once a week. Scott McConnell, executive director of Lifeway Research, noted, “Pastors … are seeing churchgoers attend less often. But when Americans hear ‘regular churchgoer,' they picture someone attending every week or very close to it.” 18.6 million engaged with YouVersion Bible on Resurrection Sunday And finally, the YouVersion Bible app saw a record 18.6 million people engaging with Scripture on Resurrection Sunday this year. That's up 11% compared to last year. Leading up to Resurrection Sunday, Bible engagement increased by over 20% across Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia. Bobby Gruenewald, the CEO of YouVersion Bible app, said they're seeing more interest in the Bible on other days too: “many of our record days for engagement have happened on seemingly ordinary days this year, with no specific reason for the spikes -- except that God is on the move.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Thursday, April 24th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Comparing King Charles' Christmas messages to Queen Elizabeth's Christmas messages shows that the UK is going down in its Christian values. The UK currently has a Pluralist king and a Hindu prime minister – this is discouraging for Christianity. There is, however, a returning of young men to the church in the UK, with the largest demographic attending church in England being young men. This program includes:1. Summary of Judges 17Judges 17 tells the story of a man named Micah, from the hill country of Ephraim. Micah steals 1,100 shekels of silver from his mother, but after being cursed by her, he returns the money. His mother then uses some of the silver to make an idol, which she gives to Micah. Micah sets up a shrine in his home, complete with an ephod (a priestly garment) and household gods. He even hires a Levite priest to serve in his shrine, hoping this will bring blessings to his household. This chapter highlights the spiritual decline and idolatry that was rampant during the time of the Judges, when "everyone did what was right in his own eyes." It introduces the theme of misguided worship, where people mixed true faith with personal preference and created their own forms of religion.Your words were found and I ate them
Summary of Judges 16 (Samson and Delilah)Judges 16 tells the story of Samson, a man blessed with supernatural strength by God, and his downfall through betrayal. Samson falls in love with Delilah, who is bribed by the Philistine rulers to uncover the secret of his strength. After several failed attempts, Samson finally reveals that his strength lies in his uncut hair—a symbol of his vow to God.Delilah cuts his hair while he sleeps, and the Philistines capture him, gouge out his eyes, and imprison him. While in prison, Samson's hair begins to grow back. During a Philistine celebration in their temple, they bring him out to mock him. Samson prays to God for strength one last time. He pushes down the temple pillars, killing himself and thousands of Philistines—defeating his enemies in death.Your words were found and I ate them
Summary of Judges 14Judges 14 tells the story of Samson, a man chosen by God with incredible strength.Samson goes to Timnah and falls in love with a Philistine woman (even though Israelites weren't supposed to marry Philistines). His parents are unsure but go with him.On the way, Samson kills a lion with his bare hands, and later finds bees and honey in its carcass. He eats the honey and gives some to his parents, but doesn't tell them where it came from.At the wedding feast, Samson gives the Philistines a riddle:"Out of the eater came something to eat,Out of the strong came something sweet."They can't solve it, so they get Samson's wife to coax the answer from him.She nags for seven days until he tells her, and she tells them. When they answer the riddle, Samson knows what happened and says:"If you had not plowed with my heifer, you would not have solved my riddle."In anger, he kills 30 Philistines to pay the wager. Then he leaves, and his wife is given to another man.Your words were found and I ate them

It's Friday, February 14th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus and Jonathan Clark Myanmar's military bombed Catholic cathedral The ruling military regime in Myanmar bombed a newly designated Catholic cathedral earlier this month, reports International Christian Concern. The Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, located in Mindat, Chin State, was designated as a cathedral by Pope Francis on January 25 — just two weeks before it was bombed on February 6. The bombing destroyed the cathedral's roof and blew out the windows, rendering the building unusable. Fortunately, the area had been evacuated in anticipation of the attack, and no deaths were reported. Chin State is the country's only Christian-majority state, with about 85% of the population ascribing to the faith. Nearly 90% of Myanmar's overall population is Buddhist. According to Open Doors, Myanmar is the 13th most dangerous country worldwide for Christians. More Evangelicals growing in number in Costa Rica Evangelical Focus reports that a new study shows Evangelicals are increasing in Costa Rica, an historically Catholic country. Fifty percent of the Central American country's population identify as Catholic. Thirty-three percent identify as Evangelical. This comes despite 73% of respondents saying they were raised Catholic and 23% saying they were raised Evangelical. Evangelical Costa Ricans are also more likely to be younger and attend church weekly. One-third of world's population now identify as Christian Lifeway Research shared several encouraging trends for global Christianity this year based on a report from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. First, the number of Christians continues to grow, reaching 2.64 billion this year, about one-third of the world's population. Second, the growth of the religiously unaffiliated is slowing and even projected to decrease in the coming decades. Third, Evangelicals are the fastest growing Christian group, projected to reach 620 million by 2050. Fourth, Christianity is growing the fastest in the Global South, especially in Africa and Asia. Africa is projected to have the largest Christian population by 2050. And fifth, the percentage of the world's population without access to the Gospel has fallen to 27%. That's down from 54% in 1900. Psalm 22:27-28 says, “All the ends of the world shall remember and turn to the LORD, and all the families of the nations shall worship before You. For the kingdom is the LORD's, and He rules over the nations.” RFK, Jr confirmed as Trump's Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., whose nomination by President Donald Trump as Secretary of Health and Human Services was highly scrutinized by lawmakers, was confirmed to that post by the Senate on February 13 in a 52–48 vote, reports The Epoch Times. PRESIDING OFFICER: “On this vote, the yeas are 52, the nays are 48. The confirmation is confirmed.” Republican Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, a polio survivor who previously voiced concerns about Kennedy's vaccine views, voted against confirming Kennedy. He was the only Republican to cast a no vote. Kennedy will head the Department of Health and Human Services, which manages 13 agencies, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the National Institutes of Health. Kennedy has promised significant changes throughout the department which has a $1.8 trillion dollar annual budget. Under the “Make America Healthy Again” campaign, Kennedy aims to curtail what he calls the chronic disease epidemic, removing toxic chemicals from the nation's food supply, overhauling dietary guidelines, and taking aim at ultra-processed foods, reports FoxNews.com. The Children's Health Defense founder has also called for a review of advertising rules for pharmaceutical companies and has urged Trump to ban pharmaceutical advertising on TV. He also believes in eliminating liability protections for drug companies. Kennedy told The Epoch Times in September that he would revamp the National Institutes of Health to focus on the causes of autism, autoimmune diseases, and neurodevelopment diseases instead of developing drugs and serving as an incubator for pharmaceutical products. RFK, Jr.: “God sent me President Trump” Before Robert F. Kennedy, Jr was sworn in as the new Secretary of Health and Human Services in the Oval Office, he offered praise for Trump's gutsy leadership. KENNEDY: “For 20 years, I'm up every morning on my knees and prayed that God would put me in a position where I can end the childhood, chronic disease epidemic in this country. On August 23 of last year, God sent me President Trump. “He's kept every promise that he's made to me. I'm so grateful to you, Mr. President. A lot of people told me that I couldn't trust President Trump. I better get it in writing, and we did a handshake, and everything that he told me he was going to do, he has done. “I genuinely believe that you are a pivotal historical figure, and you are going to transform this country. President Trump has promised to restore the American Dream in this country. A healthy person has a thousand dreams. A sick person only has one. 60% of our population has only one dream – that they get better. “President Trump has promised that he's going to restore America's strength. But we can't be a strong nation if we have a weak citizenry. 60% of our people are sick. 77% of our children cannot qualify for military service. “We need a man on a white horse now. We need somebody who is willing to come in and has the spine and the guts and the strength to challenge orthodoxies, to stand in the way of vested interests, and to break institutions that have turned against our democracy. President Trump has shown again and again that he is that hero. We need a revolutionary figure, and you are that figure. And I'm very grateful for you for giving me this opportunity.” Wikipedia founder comes to Christ And finally, Larry Sanger, the 56-year-old co-founder of Wikipedia in 2001 who grew up in the Lutheran Church, has been a lifelong religious skeptic until his conversion to the Christian faith in 2020, reports The Christian Post. An agnostic, he became intrigued by philosophical arguments for God's existence, particularly the "First Cause" argument, according to a new blog on his personal website. He began to personally study the Scriptures for himself, downloaded the YouVersion Bible app, “and immediately made Bible study a serious hobby.” Christian apologists Stephen Meyer and William Lane Craig made him think deeply. After devouring the four gospels, Sanger said in 2020, “I should admit to myself that I now believe in God, and pray to God properly.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."
