Ever wish you would have actually rehearsed that presentation you were supposed to give? Have you ever told yourself, “I’m ready” or “I am going to wing this presentation”? My advice to you: Don’t do it! Just don’t do it. Some preparation and a lot of rehearsal may very well make the difference between an average presentation and an excellent, inspiring presentation!
We were lucky to have Ryan Stanton on the show this month. Ryan is an emergency physician, Nascar physician, EMS director, pilot, podcaster, and video expert. On this episode he shares his wisdom on how to be in front of a camera. Medical educators will likely find themselves in front of a camera at some point in their careers, and Ryan tells us some of the major pearls and pitfalls involved in being recorded.
On November 8th, during the Ikigai Med Ed event in Lexington, we will be having an all day wellness and resiliency mini-course, led by Anna Kalantari and Chris Doty. That evening we will host Vulnerable, an open mic event where course attendees and speakers can share their personal stories of being vulnerable, loss, tragedy, and pretty much any topic people can think of. The purpose of the event is to bring educators together to highlight that we are all flawed, we all fight our own personal battles, and that we can all grow and learn from failure to better ourselves and our learners.
Welcome back to the show. Great interview this month with Teresa Chan about the new GridlockED board game! Plus, lots of cool updates.
