Oh By Golly

Jacklyn hires her happy, positive, Type A friend, Georgeanne, to schedule her life--literally laying out the hours of her day and in result, Jacklyn is freed up to do more.  Everyone needs a Georgeanne.   Jacklyn subtly mentions to Georgeanne that she is going back to grad school.  Jacklyn is surprised that Georgeanne is surprised.  Georgeanne give a few tips on how to start new busy seasons in life and explains the importance of saying "no" without an explanation.   Jacklyn and Georgeanne giggle like school girls throughout the whole episode.    

Man has quieted and nature has grown loud. These Corona birds, they have my attention. Jacklyn shares her childhood desire to have a bird's full attention and later in adulthood learns to sit long enough to let them land. Briefly shares about her trip to TX to see family. Encourages listeners to stay connected to one another during this season of Social Distancing. 

When Jacklyn sits down with her friend Lindsey they quickly connect over similar shared experiences in their childhood-- cigarettes and booze.   

The theme of this episode is Friendship.  Jacklyn begins by briefly sharing stories of a few friends who have changed her life for the better.  Early on in the show, Jacklyn phones Madeline, a former student who she taught 12 years ago.  Madeline discuss the importance of her high school friend group and specifically her dear friend Catie.  Madeline says it's because of Catie that Madeline is a better person and a better friend.   This episode is in loving memory of Catie who died June 2, 2017, leaving behind her husband and three sons.   Be the Catie kind of friend. 

Jacklyn's niece suggests doing a special Thanksgiving episode, but their time on the phone has little to do with Thanksgiving and more to do with Peanut M&Ms, educational goals, and unicorns. Jacklyn also shares a few Thanksgiving memories from her childhood. 

Jacklyn finally gets to talk to her dad on the phone.  She learns that he has made a few changes around his place.
