Donna Adelson Trial: Detective Maps July 18th Phone Calls Before Dan Markel's Murder The jury in the Trial of Donna Adelson was riveted today as Tallahassee Police Sergeant Christopher Corbitt traced the timeline of phone calls on July 18, 2014—the very morning Dan Markel was shot in his driveway. This wasn't just a list of calls. It was a carefully woven narrative of how the alleged conspiracy operated in real time, connecting the hitmen, Katherine Magbanua, Charlie Adelson, and ultimately Donna Adelson herself. Corbitt walked the jury through the early-morning hours, showing how Magbanua and Charlie Adelson exchanged a flurry of calls while the hitmen's phones pinged near their Tallahassee motel. At 1:02 a.m., Charlie called his mother, Donna, pulling her directly into the communications chain just hours before the murder. By mid-morning, calls bounced between Donna, Wendi, and Charlie, with Wendi speaking to both her brother and her mother minutes before Markel was due to arrive home. Then came the chilling detail: at 11:22 a.m., barely 30 minutes after Markel was shot, Charlie Adelson placed a 7-minute call to Donna. Prosecutors argue this wasn't coincidence—it was coordination, a family scrambling in the aftermath of a hit they helped arrange. Why does this matter? Because phone records don't forget, and they don't get confused on the stand. These logs provide jurors with a roadmap of connection—showing not only who called whom, but when and how often. Combined with other testimony, this timeline suggests the Adelsons weren't just worried relatives but active participants in orchestrating and managing the murder-for-hire plot. For the prosecution, Corbitt's testimony is about more than phone numbers. It's about establishing a pattern of conspiracy—a trail of calls that prosecutors say leads straight back to Donna Adelson. #DonnaAdelsonTrial #ChristopherCorbitt #DanMarkel #CharlieAdelson #DonnaAdelson #KatherineMagbanua #TrueCrime #FloridaTrial #CourtroomDrama #JusticeForDan Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? I'm back with another installment of my mini-series Don't Hang Up, where I pick up the phone and call people in my real life (begging them not to hang up!) while I ask them deeply personal questions. This time, I called my mom (who was not thrilled about being on the podcast — sorry, Mom!!) to talk about how she raised three kids who somehow grew up without sibling rivalry or competition and are now true best friends as adults. We talked about what it was like raising twins, how she handled our sibling bickering, the little mantras she repeated that shaped us, and why celebrating our differences was key. She even shared some funny childhood memories (like me making “commercials” in the bathroom mirror) that I'm still cringing about. But I guess the commercials were worth it and led me somewhere fun! It's a conversation about parenting, sibling bonds, and the small, everyday choices that can shape a family for life. Whether you're a parent yourself, a sibling reflecting on your own childhood, or just love a heartfelt family story, you're gonna love this one.Watch this episode in video form on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLjmevEcbh5h5FEX0pazPEtN86t7eb2OgX To apply to be a guest on the show, visit luciefink.com/apply and send us your story. AI “agents” have been hyped to death—but very few are truly delivering real-world impact. In this episode, we cut through the vaporware with Christian Wiens, co-founder of Loman, an AI voice agent platform transforming how restaurants handle customer calls, orders, and reservations. Christian shares how Loman went from a two-person idea to serving hundreds of restaurants and hitting $1.5M ARR in record time. We dive into why voice is the most natural, context-rich way for humans to communicate—and how AI agents that do real work (not just answer questions) will change how we interact with businesses forever. You'll hear how Loman's restaurant agents integrate directly with POS systems to take orders end-to-end, the surprising reasons Gen Z prefers talking to AI over humans, and why the future of a brand's “front door” may be an AI personality instead of a website. Christian also breaks down Loman's explosive growth playbook—from ditching cold email for native social ads, to filming on-location customer stories that convert like crazy. We cover the realities of AI-generated ads, programmatic SEO, and why outcome-driven automation is the only AI worth paying for. What You'll Learn in This EpisodeWhat really defines an AI agent—and why most products don't qualifyHow voice-based AI can capture richer customer context than any app or formThe operational pain restaurants face with missed calls and how AI solves itWhy customers don't care if it's AI or human—only that it gets the job doneGen Z's surprising comfort with AI calls (and discomfort with human ones)The two make-or-break factors every AI agent needs to succeedHow to create “native feel” ad creatives that crush on socialWhy hyper-specific vertical integration beats horizontal AI every timeThe massive untapped potential for outbound AI voice (and the legal gray areas)Christian's vision for a future where AI agents replace websites as the primary customer touchpointChapters00:00 – Intro & The AI Agent Hype vs. Reality 04:18 – What an AI Agent Really Is 09:02 – Why Voice Is the Ultimate Interface 13:47 – The Restaurant Industry's Missed Call Problem 18:25 – Gen Z's Comfort with AI Calls 22:58 – Vertical vs. Horizontal AI Strategies 27:41 – Loman's Explosive Growth Playbook 32:16 – Ads That Feel Native & Convert 37:08 – Outbound AI Voice & Legal Considerations 42:55 – The Future: AI Agents as the New Websites 47:20 – Closing Thoughts & How to Connect with ChristianConnect with Christian Wiens:LinkedIn – https://www.linkedin.com/in/christianwiens/Website – https://www.loman.ai/

After telling his fellow troops that he was going out for a drink he never came back – and was never heard from again, by anyone. Following the November 2022 murders of four University of Idaho students, suspect Bryan Kohberger's phone records revealed a series of unsettling activities. Investigators discovered that Kohberger, a criminology Ph.D. student at Washington State University, conducted online searches related to serial killer Ted Bundy and viewed pornography depicting nonconsensual acts, using keywords such as "forced," "passed out," "drugged," and "sleeping" . Additionally, surveillance footage showed a white Hyundai Elantra, matching Kohberger's vehicle, circling the victims' residence multiple times on the night of the murders . Cellphone tower data further indicated that Kohberger's phone connected near the victims' house 23 times in the four months leading up to the murders, often during nighttime hours .These findings, combined with DNA evidence linking Kohberger to the crime scene, have strengthened the prosecution's case against him. Despite this, Kohberger has pleaded not guilty and maintains his innocence, claiming he was out driving alone on the night of the murders . His trial is scheduled to begin on August 11, 2025, in Ada County, Idaho . If convicted, he could face the death penalty.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:Explosive detail buried in Idaho murder suspect's phone records reveals who he called after the killings | Daily Mail OnlineBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-moscow-murders-and-more--5852883/support.

In this episode, I'm continuing my mini-series Don't Hang Up, where I pick up the phone and call people in my real life (begging them not to hang up!) while I ask them deeply personal questions. This time, I called my friend (completely unannounced - sorry, Monique!!) to talk about what went down at her recent destination wedding in Cabo. Monique is one of my best friends from college, and after years of planning, her dream beach wedding was hit by a literal tropical cyclone. Not just rain…it was a sideways, slamming, ceremony-soaking cyclone kind of weather event. We talked about what it felt like to watch her wedding day unravel in real time, the emotions she went through that morning, how her support system showed up for her, and how she ultimately found the beauty in all the chaos. It's a story about resilience, friendship, soggy dance floors, and what really matters when things don't go according to plan.Whether you're a bride-to-be, a wedding guest, or just love a good real-life plot twist—this one's for you!Watch this episode in video form on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLjmevEcbh5h5FEX0pazPEtN86t7eb2OgX To apply to be a guest on the show, visit luciefink.com/apply and send us your story. What lies behind the clashes on the Thai Cambodian border is a fractured friendship between the two nations. In July both countries strike each other with civilians killed and injured in the crossfire. More than a hundred thousand are evacuated. Thailand warns the clashes could escalate to war. In May a brief gunfire exchange killed a Cambodian soldier. Just over two weeks later surprising details from a recorded private phone conversation went public. On that 17-minute call to Cambodia was Thailand's Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra. It was supposed to defuse the situation - instead it has erupted.Away from the border, there's been public outrage in Thailand, a major prime ministerial setback, fractured friendships, diplomatic ties downgraded and even more political pressure on a far from robust government.Contributors: · Dr Petra Alderman, Centre manager at the Saw Swee Hock Southeast Asia Centre at the London School of Economics and Political Science Dr Thitinan Pongsudhirak, Professor and senior fellow of the Institute of Security and International Studies at Chulalongkorn University Dr Vu Lam, Lecturer at the University of New South Wales Dr Pavida Pananond, Professor of International Business and Strategy at Thammasat University's Business School based in Bangkok Presented by Charmaine Cozier Produced by Daniel Rosney Researched by Evie Yabsley Technical producer Criag Boardman Production co-ordinator Liam Morrey Editor Tara McDermott
May, 1985. Two days before her high school graduation, Shari Faye Smith was abducted from her parents' driveway in broad daylight. Her kidnapper taunted Shari's family by phone for days, calling in the middle of the night and revealing bone-chilling details of his crime. With little evidence to go on, South Carolina investigators brought in FBI criminal profiler John Douglas and his colleagues, who used the recorded phone calls to create a profile of their UNSUB. About 2 weeks later, 9-year-old Debra May Helmick was kidnapped in a similar manner. When both girls turned up dead, investigators realized they had a probable serial killer on their hands – and they needed to find him before he could strike again.
