Thankfulness is how we express our gratitude for who God is, and what He has done in our past, and declare his faithfulness over our future. This week we discover that worship changes our perspective, protects our hearts from growing cold, and protects us from foolishness.

The arrival of Jesus, is the joyful proclamation that the Savior, Jesus, The Messiah, has come. God took on the flesh and came to us, so we might know him, love him, and be saved by him. So that we might have an eternal hope, even in dark and difficult times.

John Piper once said, “Life is war. That's not all it is. But it is always that.” As we conclude this series, we discover that following in the footsteps of Jesus means sometimes we need to step up and step in to the arena and fight.

In the Old Testament, God delivered His people from bondage and slavery in Egypt. Their freedom comes after God sends the angel of death, but spares those who obeyed his command to mark their doorposts with the blood of the lamb. Today we experience our ultimate freedom from our ultimate bondage that was won for us by the ultimate lamb, Jesus Christ.

Sometimes we wrestle with God, Jacob did. This week we discover that we win when we surrender our lives to God.

We all face giants in our lives. The good news is that we do not fight for victory, we fight from victory and have a champion who fights for us and has already defeated our greatest enemies.

Where do we get the power to fight the battles we face today? If you are tired of fighting with your own strength, longing to experience revival in your own heart, or want to be equipped with the spiritual weapons we need to break every chain, then we must embrace the person and the power of the Holy Spirit.

When Jesus went to the cross, He entered the battle, and endured it ultimately conquering Satan, Sin, and death through His life, death, and resurrection.

As people who have been changed by Jesus, none of us are owners, we are all stewards of the things God has entrusted us with. If we want to be good stewards, we cannot ignore God's word about the giving and generosity. God does not need your money, but He is after your heart!

This Sunday, we hit pause on our current sermon series to open our Bibles and address the evil we have seen in our country this week and answer the question: "How do we are Christ Followers Respond To Evil In The World?".

God is calling us to join and serve (Luke 10:25-37) – All too often we see things that just are not right. The question is, “what will we do about it?” We believe Christ Follower have to be willing to be lead by Jesus and get involved in three ways: spiritually (by being willing to submit to God's plan), physically (by giving our time and energy) and financially (by sacrificing our money to help those in need).

Living in community is essential for every Christian. Our church community spurs us toward love and good deeds, helps us avoid sin, provides a place to live out God's commands, and offers opportunities to become servants and givers like Christ. You were never meant to do life isolated and alone!

At Redemption Church we believe that we are all on a Spiritual Journey. Accepting Jesus is the beginning of our spiritual walk with God followed by taking the next steps through obedience. As we grow God will reveal ways for us to do these things that will bring us joy and draw us closer to Him and be for the benefit of others. Following Jesus leads to growth, and growing people change.

As Christ Followers our heart and desires should reflect the heart and desires of our Heavenly Father. As we grow in our relationship and knowledge of God we begin to care about what Jesus cares about. With that in mind we believe that at the core of every Christ Follower there should be a passion, urgency and involvement to see others be changed by Jesus.

Worship is not just an event or activity, it is a lifestyle. What if the will of God is not always about a decision we are trying to make, but is more about who we are becoming.

If we are completely honest, sometimes things like worship, prayer, serving, and sharing the gospel become regular and mundane to us. This is not new, it happens. We serve a supernatural God who still saves, still performs miracles, it still at work in the world and in our lives. As long as the tomb is empty, we should live our lives eager and expectant to see God show up and do what only He can do.

One of the simplest things Jesus said, might also be the hardest thing for us to live out. Jesus commands us to love others, as He first loved us. This week we will discover how we can take steps to show love to the people around us.

You rarely arrive anywhere worthwhile by accident. As Christ Followers we need to seek God's direction and calling for our lives and continually ask the Holy Spirit; “will you reveal to me any areas of my life where I need to change course to be in alignment with your will and purpose for my life?".

1 Corinthians 13:13 - So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

We were created for friendship and community. Your friendships matter. Today we look at Mark 2:1-12, and see how the faith and actions of four good friends change a man's life. We need people in our lives who love us enough to tell us the truth, helps carry our burdens, and encourages us to throw off our old self, while continually being transformed into the image and likeness of Jesus. Those are formative friendships!

Let's be honest, there is no such thing as a perfect parent, and there is no such thing as perfect kids. The good news is that the goal of parenting is not perfection. This week we look at Psalm 127:3-5 and discover that the primary role of parents is to Disciple our Children is the ways of God and bring all areas of their lives to maturity in the Lord.

There has to be a better option for dating than what the world teaches us. What if it was possible to intentionally and prayerfully pursue someone for marriage in a way that is not only honors God, but also cares for the long term good of everyone involved.

On the cross, Jesus said It is Finished and then gave up his Spirit and Died. The resurrection is the proof that Jesus is not finished and salvation is possible for anyone who believes, trusts, submits and surrender their lives to Jesus.

“It is finished” was a cry of victory. The law is fulfilled, the devil is defeated, the cup of wrath is drained, and sinners are saved. When we put our trust in the finished work of Christ on the cross we can become fully loved, fully accepted, fully forgiven, fully adopted sons and daughters of God.

On the cross when Jesus said, “I thirst”, he is speaking of both physical thirst and spiritual thirst. Jesus is taking upon Himself, the punishment we as sinners deserve. He drinks the wrath of God that we deserve, so that we may drink the living water that satisfies our souls.

As Jesus dies on the cross in our place for our sin, he experiences the the wrath and judgment we are all due. The execution of Jesus, was not defeat, but rather the execution of God's plan to seek and save the lost.

The word of Jesus to his mother from the cross is a great encouragement to our faith. For if he could provide for his own in the moment of his weakness and humiliation, how much more can he meet all our needs today from His power and exaltation!

We are forgiven, accepted, loved, adopted and guaranteed an eternal inheritance, because the man on the middle cross said so!

Jesus came to seek and save the lost. The cross of Christ not only declares our guilt, but also shows us how we can be forgiven. What will you do with Jesus, His life, His Death, and Resurrection?

Whatever you do, first and foremost love Jesus, and boldly declare the good news of Gospel to the people around you.

We are at war, and we need to pray like it! Prayer is our direct line of communication to God.

The most important words spoken in human history are, “it is finished”. The most important word for navigating our lives as Christ Followers are, “it is written.”

Our salvation and right standing with God is not based upon what we can earn, do, and achieve. Our salvation and right standing with God is based upon the eternal inheritance we have received from Jesus!

The opposite of faith is not doubt, the opposite of faith is fear. This week we discover that our faith in Jesus is a weapon against the Satan that extinguishes all the flaming darts of the enemy.

When we are at peace with God, we can now experience the peace of God in our lives. This peace moves us to be prepared to share the Good News of the Gospel with the people around us.

We are in a literal war, with a real enemy, who has plans to steal, kill and destroy. The good news is, Jesus has provided us with the victory and strength we need for the battle. This week we discover that the belt of truth is more than just information. To know truth is to know Jesus, who is the truth.
