We were created for friendship and community. Your friendships matter. Today we look at Mark 2:1-12, and see how the faith and actions of four good friends change a man's life. We need people in our lives who love us enough to tell us the truth, helps carry our burdens, and encourages us to throw off our old self, while continually being transformed into the image and likeness of Jesus. Those are formative friendships!
Let's be honest, there is no such thing as a perfect parent, and there is no such thing as perfect kids. The good news is that the goal of parenting is not perfection. This week we look at Psalm 127:3-5 and discover that the primary role of parents is to Disciple our Children is the ways of God and bring all areas of their lives to maturity in the Lord.
There has to be a better option for dating than what the world teaches us. What if it was possible to intentionally and prayerfully pursue someone for marriage in a way that is not only honors God, but also cares for the long term good of everyone involved.
On the cross, Jesus said It is Finished and then gave up his Spirit and Died. The resurrection is the proof that Jesus is not finished and salvation is possible for anyone who believes, trusts, submits and surrender their lives to Jesus.
“It is finished” was a cry of victory. The law is fulfilled, the devil is defeated, the cup of wrath is drained, and sinners are saved. When we put our trust in the finished work of Christ on the cross we can become fully loved, fully accepted, fully forgiven, fully adopted sons and daughters of God.
On the cross when Jesus said, “I thirst”, he is speaking of both physical thirst and spiritual thirst. Jesus is taking upon Himself, the punishment we as sinners deserve. He drinks the wrath of God that we deserve, so that we may drink the living water that satisfies our souls.
As Jesus dies on the cross in our place for our sin, he experiences the the wrath and judgment we are all due. The execution of Jesus, was not defeat, but rather the execution of God's plan to seek and save the lost.
The word of Jesus to his mother from the cross is a great encouragement to our faith. For if he could provide for his own in the moment of his weakness and humiliation, how much more can he meet all our needs today from His power and exaltation!
We are forgiven, accepted, loved, adopted and guaranteed an eternal inheritance, because the man on the middle cross said so!
Jesus came to seek and save the lost. The cross of Christ not only declares our guilt, but also shows us how we can be forgiven. What will you do with Jesus, His life, His Death, and Resurrection?
Whatever you do, first and foremost love Jesus, and boldly declare the good news of Gospel to the people around you.
We are at war, and we need to pray like it! Prayer is our direct line of communication to God.
The most important words spoken in human history are, “it is finished”. The most important word for navigating our lives as Christ Followers are, “it is written.”
Our salvation and right standing with God is not based upon what we can earn, do, and achieve. Our salvation and right standing with God is based upon the eternal inheritance we have received from Jesus!
The opposite of faith is not doubt, the opposite of faith is fear. This week we discover that our faith in Jesus is a weapon against the Satan that extinguishes all the flaming darts of the enemy.
When we are at peace with God, we can now experience the peace of God in our lives. This peace moves us to be prepared to share the Good News of the Gospel with the people around us.
We are in a literal war, with a real enemy, who has plans to steal, kill and destroy. The good news is, Jesus has provided us with the victory and strength we need for the battle. This week we discover that the belt of truth is more than just information. To know truth is to know Jesus, who is the truth.

Welcome to week five in our study of the book of Galatians. The big question Paul asks this week, is how do we receive the blessing that God promised to Abraham. This is a big question, because the promised blessing to Abraham is about salvation, life, and the reversal of what happened in Genesis 3. The good news is, no about of hardworking, achievement, or religious activity can earn you that blessing. Why is that good news? Because we receive that blessing through faith in Jesus. Not only does Jesus save us and bless us, He fills us with the promised Holy Spirit.
Welcome to week four of our study on the book of Galatians. This week we will discover that there are times in our lives where conflict is necessary. Some things are worth fighting for. This week in Galatians we see Paul confront Peter and Barnabas, because their actions (led by fear) were out of step with the Gospel and leading others astray. So what can we learn from this confrontation between Peter and Paul? Christ Followers can disagree on lots of things as they study the bible and live under freedom and grace. There is room for us to follow Jesus and do things differently. There are however times when conflict is necessary: when someone sins agains you (Matthew 18), when a brother or sister in Christ begins to walk in sin (James 5:19-20), or when someone changes the Gospel or essentials of the faith. As we study Galatians 2:11-21, we are praying that the Holy Spirit would speak to you, and strengthen you in your relationship with Christ, and the way we live out our faith publicly.
Welcome to week three in our study on the book of Galatians. 14 years have passed since the end of chapter one, and we discover the the false teachers have taken their false teachings all the way back to Jerusalem. Paul uses Titus as a living example. Is Titus saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone? Or does Titus need more than Jesus to be saved, does he also need to become Jewish? The good news of the Gospel is that we are saved completely and fully in Christ! We also discover that while there is one Gospel, there are different ministry styles, especially as we take the Gospel to different people and cultures.
Welcome to week two of our Study on the book of Galatians. This week, as we study Galatians 1:11-24 we discover like Paul our story of transformation has power to share the gospel with people around us. We are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. That means we cannot earn God's love or approval through works, religion, or moral uprightness. It also means no one is outside of God reach or forgiveness based on your past. God saves the religious and the rebellious, because He delights to do so.
The Gospel means good news. But for good news to be good, it has to invade bad places. The Gospel of Jesus is good news, because there is bad news. This week we discover the effects of sin, and why we are people who are in need of a Savior.
The book Old Testament book of Habakkuk is really like a prayer journal. We get to see the inside track of Habakkuk's conversations with God, while discovering what it looks like to live by faith.

Daniel is unlike any another book in the Bible. This book of Daniel is not set in Israel, but rather, is set in the heart of an enemy, hostile, pagan empire where God's people have been taken captive. When most people think about Daniel, they think about the lions den, the fiery furnace, the writing on the wall, and some dreams and prophecy. The book of Daniel is actually about the faithfulness of God. While kingdoms rise and fall, we can be faithful to the One True God who rules over them all.Because God is faithful, and rules over all kings and kingdoms, it is actually possible for us as His people to shine, thrive, and be faithful, in a dark and hostile world.
