She was leading her team through uncertainty, delivering on every project, and walking into senior leadership presentations with the same steady presence she had built her reputation on. Nobody around her would have guessed. But she knew. She knew that the energy she was bringing into those rooms was costing her more than it used to. She knew that by the end of the day, there was nothing left. And still, she showed up. Because that is what she does.In this Monday Momentum episode of Communicate to Lead, Kele Belton shares why depletion shows up in the room even when you think you are hiding it, and the two-minute reset that helps high-performing women leaders walk into high-stakes moments grounded and present, even when they are running on fumes. What You Will LearnWhy depletion quietly shapes how you show up as a leader, even when your performance still looks strong from the outside. The difference between leading while tired and leading while depleted, and why one is sustainable while the other costs you the very presence your role requires.A two-step reset you can use in under two minutes before any meeting to shift from survival mode into grounded leadership presence.Your Action StepBefore your next high-stakes meeting or conversation this week, use the two-step reset. Find sixty seconds alone. Stand with your feet hip-width apart, shoulders back, chin level, and take one deep breath and a slow exhale. Each word reveals a unique dimension of all that the Holy Spirit brings to our lives. The Holy Spirit wants to:·    Immerse you in God's presence.·    Give you divine power to fulfill your assignment.·    Completely saturate you with His presence that is greater than your problems·    Help you live in the overflow, not on fumes·    Wrap you in the Father's embrace·    Equip you to live the life God always intended.

If you've spent years pouring yourself out for everyone around you — your children, your husband, your aging parent, your clients, your church — and you're exhausted, resentful, or just not feeling well, this episode is for you. In this conversation, we're talking honestly about what happens when self-neglect goes unchecked. Not from a self-help angle, but from a faith-centered, whole-person perspective that takes both your body and your calling seriously. This episode is for the Christian woman who is done spinning her wheels, done running on fumes, and ready to start seeing herself the way God sees her. --- Why Good Women Stop Taking Care of Themselves It often doesn't start with a dramatic decision. It starts with one more yes. One more skipped meal. One more night staying up too late to get everything done. Over time, those small compromises quietly add up — and so do the consequences. A friend who worked in the pharmaceutical industry for over a decade watched this happen to someone she loved. Her colleague, a deeply dependable and caring woman, worked around the clock, rarely stopped to eat, took on the work of multiple people, and slowly stopped doing the things that once brought her joy — like traveling through Europe. Year after year, the workload got heavier, the complaints got louder, and yet the boundaries never came. The hard truth? The problem wasn't only the unreasonable management or the impossible workload. The deeper issue was that she didn't yet value herself enough to say no. This pattern doesn't stay in the workplace. It shows up in our homes, our marriages, our friendships, and our churches. --- What the Church Sometimes Gets Wrong About Sacrifice If you've spent any meaningful time in church, there's a chance you've walked away with an unspoken message: that giving everything, constantly, is what godliness looks like. That more sacrifice always equals more faithfulness. But that's not the full picture Scripture paints. You were made in the image of God. The same God who cares deeply about the child you're raising, the parent you're caring for, and the friend you drop everything for — that same God cares about you. Holistic health isn't just about what you eat or how you sleep. It's about recognizing that your body, your emotions, and your energy are worth stewarding — because they belong to Him. --- Three Things That Happen When You Stop Taking Care of Yourself 1. Bitterness can take root. When you give and give without boundaries, and no one seems to notice or reciprocate, resentment builds. It's not always loud. Sometimes it's just a quiet, growing heaviness that colors how you see everyone around you. 2. You end up tolerating sin. This one is uncomfortable, but it needs to be said. When we stay quiet, keep the peace at all costs, and never address what's actually wrong, we're not being gracious — we're enabling. Sin that's never confronted rarely changes. The book And the Shofar Blew by Francine Rivers illustrates this heartbreakingly well: a pastor's hidden sin went unaddressed for generations because the women closest to him chose silence over truth. Tolerating what God calls wrong isn't humility. It's harm. 3. Your body starts to break down. This is where holistic health and faith genuinely intersect. Dr. Josh Axe observed in his clinical practice that many of his patients dealing with autoimmune issues, chronic fatigue, and other persistent symptoms were young mothers — women who were deeply devoted to caring for others but had stopped caring for themselves. The body keeps score. Chronic stress, emotional depletion, and poor self-care are not just spiritual issues — they show up physically. --- Jesus Had Boundaries — And So Can You The most powerful person to ever walk the earth did not spend every moment helping people. Jesus stepped away from the crowds. He retreated to pray. He protected his time with the Father even when people needed him, even when they were looking for him. If Jesus modeled rest, solitude, and limits — you are not being selfish when you do the same. You're being faithful. --- Practical Next Steps Worth Considering - Read Boundaries or Boundaries in Marriage by Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend — widely recommended for a reason - Consider speaking with a counselor or pastor if you're struggling to identify or hold limits in your relationships - Ask for help — and be specific. Tell your husband, your friend, or your church community exactly what you need - Remember Matthew 11:28-29: "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." That's an invitation, not a suggestion --- Timestamped Highlights 0:00 — Opening truth: neglecting yourself isn't humility 0:30 — The story of Molly: what a decade of no boundaries actually looks like 3:52 — This isn't just a workplace problem — it shows up in our homes, marriages, and caregiving 4:19 — What the church sometimes gets wrong about sacrifice 5:17 — Three consequences of self-neglect: bitterness, tolerating sin, and getting sick 6:13 — And the Shofar Blew: what happens when we stay quiet about sin 8:08 — The physical toll: Dr. Josh Axe's observations on autoimmune issues and chronic fatigue in caregivers 9:08 — Practical resources: Boundaries books, counseling, and asking for specific help 9:37 — Jesus had boundaries too — and He's your model 10:36 — Closing encouragement and invitation --- Key Takeaways - Self-neglect is not a virtue. It has real spiritual, emotional, and physical consequences. - Bitterness, enabling sin, and chronic illness are three outcomes that often trace back to a pattern of giving without limits. - Jesus modeled boundaries consistently — stepping away, resting, and protecting time with the Father. - Asking for help and being specific about what you need is not weakness. It's wisdom. - Your body is worth paying attention to. Persistent fatigue, autoimmune symptoms, and emotional burnout are signals, not character flaws. --- Ready to Stop Waiting and Start Feeling Better? If this episode hit close to home — if you recognized yourself in Molly's story, or you've been running on empty for longer than you can remember — this is your sign to take the next step. Burnout in hospitality teams shows up long before the dramatic crash — in dropped shoulders, extra coffees, and withdrawal from team conversations. Michelle Pascoe, a Certified Speaking Professional with over 30 years' experience in hospitality, and energy coach Rich Ellis share practical tools for reading early warning signs and embedding a simple 1-to-10 check-in system that prevents burnout before it becomes a resignation. Are you seeing the signs in your team — or are you too busy to notice them? If you have ever ended a busy season wondering how your team made it through, or found yourself managing someone's exit that you never saw coming, this episode is worth your full attention. Rich Ellis has spent nearly two decades helping leaders understand that energy is not a wellness topic — it is a performance discipline. He and Michelle Pascoe explore what burnout actually looks like in a hospitality environment, why the standard responses rarely work, and what small, sustainable changes make a real difference over time. This is not a conversation about self-care programs or office fruit bowls. It is a practical framework for leaders who are serious about retaining their best people. Key Takeaways The body language and behaviour shifts that signal a team member is depleting — weeks before they say a word. The science behind morning light exposure and why 7-10 minutes outdoors is the single highest-return daily energy habit. How the 1-to-10 check-in system works in a team setting, and why it becomes self-managing once it is embedded in the culture. Why building a genuine wellness culture requires a 12-month commitment — and how to demonstrate return on investment to a board or owner group. A practical mindset for helping frontline staff deflect disrespectful customers without absorbing the impact. If you listened to our main episode, "The Hidden Cost of Being the Strong One," you know that functioning while depleted is a survival strategy. But here is the hardest part about taking off that mask: when you have spent years making it look easy, your sudden need for help can feel to the people around you like an accusation. In this bonus mini-episode, SaCola Lehr tackles the delicate dynamic of asking for support at home. When you are the strong one, you train your family to rely on your endless capacity. When you finally hit a wall, asking for help often comes out as frustration, leading to defensiveness and arguments. SaCola shares her own origin story of handing her partner an angry, itemized list of chores, and explains why that approach fails. Instead, she introduces the "See, Feel, Want" structure—a powerful communication tool from the PRONE to Power framework that helps you reframe your depletion as a shared challenge rather than a personal attack.Key Takeaways• The Invisible Weight: Why your partner cannot see your exhaustion if you have spent years perfecting the art of making it look effortless.• The Danger of "You" Statements: How waiting until you are resentful turns a request for support into an argument.•The "See, Feel, Want" Structure: A simple, three-step method to state facts neutrally, share your emotional reality without blame, and make a specific, actionable request.• Your Action Step: Pick one small thing this week—the evening routine, the grocery run, or the weekend schedule—and use the See, Feel, Want structure to ask for the support you actually need.Resources Mentioned:• Harmony Hustle for Women: Master the Art of Thriving in Life and Career• PRONE to Power FrameworkConnect:• Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/workitliveitownit/• Website: https://SaColaLehr.com/Email for business inquiries: info@workitliveitownit.com

https://youtu.be/JbwZn68o6tA?si=KaUJV7lc4chmBWDN Follow along with us! 30 Days of Purpose – Make Every Day MatterThere's a quote often attributed to Mark Twain that says: The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you discover why.I've thought about that a lot as a pastor. Some of the hardest phone calls I take are from people who need something. They need rent money. They need a bill paid. They need help with a crisis. They need a relationship fixed. They need a door to open. And I want to help. I have helped. But one painful thing I've seen over and over is this: Often they get the thing they asked for… but they are still empty. We don't just need something to get through the week. We need a reason to live. The money helped, but it did not heal them. The object solved a problem, but it did not give them purpose. The relationship brought comfort for a moment, but it did not become a reason to live. Are You Running on Empty or Filled for a Purpose?Welcome-3rd week of our series 30 Days of Purpose. I have a counterintuitive thought for us today. Meaning grows when your life flows outward. We assume more money, more comfort, more entertainment, more attention, and more convenience would make us more alive. But we are one of the most comfortable, entertained, wealthy cultures in human history… and we are still falling apart. Anxiety is rising.Depression is rising.Loneliness is rising.Meaninglessness is rising. More comfort does not always mean more peace.More entertainment does not always mean more joy.More connection online does not always mean more belonging in real life. Maybe the problem is not that we lack more. Maybe the problem is that too much of life only flows inward. Instead of giving you more statistics and studies for a minute… let me show you one of the most fascinating geographical places on earth. It's a place where almost nothing lives. No fish. No plant life. Almost nothing survives there. And what's strange is… it's not small. It's not dry. Water constantly flows into it. It is called the Dead Sea. The Dead Sea only flows in. Nothing flows out.The Jordan River flows into the Dead Sea… but nothing flows out. The Dead Sea sits over 1,400 feet below sea level, making it one of the lowest land formations on earth. Water flows in continually… but because it has no outlet, the water evaporates and leaves massive amounts of salt behind. The salt concentration becomes so extreme that almost nothing can survive there. That is why it is called the Dead Sea. It receives… but it never releases. There is a lesson here: What only flows inward eventually becomes lifeless. If life becomes consume, comfort me, entertain me, protect me, serve me, and bless me, eventually something starts dying inside of us.And honestly, church can become that too. If church becomes consume, comfort me, entertain me, protect me, serve me, and bless me, eventually something starts dying inside of us.Nothing that God created to live and flourish can survive  We were created to let life flow outward. This is exactly what Jesus taught us. John 7:37-3837 On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink.38 Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” Jesus does not give us a pond, pool, or puddle. He gives rivers. Jesus fills you with life, so life can flow through you.He does not fill us so we can become spiritual Dead Seas.Mark 10:45:“The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve…” Jesus did not come to be served… We see Jesus serve others constantly. Followers of Jesus hear me… we are not here to be served, but to serve. The fullest life ever lived was a poured-out life.Jesus healed.Jesus served.Jesus fed the hungry.Jesus protected the abused.Jesus washed feet.Jesus carried the cross. Jesus poured Himself out for us.Every day of his life his life was poured out for others. On the cross water & blood poured from his side. The life of Jesus is known today because he poured himself out for others. Not known for looks, riches, family name… Meaning grows when your life flows outward. What does this mean for you?Even if you are not known for your looks…Even if you are not known for trophies…Even if you are not known for fancy riches…You can be known and meaningful because you are refusing to just receive but to release. Let the life of Jesus flow! Where does your life need to flow outward? Start small. Serve someone. Everybody can do this. Encourage someone.Pray for someone.Help someone.Show up for someone. Start bigger. Start something. Maybe God is calling you to do more than one moment of kindness. Maybe there is something in your heart that needs to begin. A small study.A prayer group.A ministry idea.A community outreach.A way to help people.A place where lonely people belong. Don't wait until you feel fully ready. Purpose often starts small, but it has a habit of growing when you start flowing. Start huge. Lead something that outlives you. This is where purpose gets powerful. Not just:“What can I accomplish?” But:“What can continue blessing people after me?” Lead a ministry. Disciple people. Build something meaningful. Raise up others. Invest in kids. Develop leaders. Create something that keeps flowing long after you are gone. That's living water. That's purpose.Jesus has FILLED you for a purpose, but you must let that purpose FLOW. And let's be honest about what Jesus is talking about here. When Jesus said: “Rivers of living water will flow from within them…” He was talking about the Holy Spirit. The Spirit of God living in people. The Spirit of God flowing through people. Some people have had an experience with God… but nothing has flowed in years. Some people believe in Jesus… but they are spiritually stagnant. Jesus did not say: “Barely survive spiritually.” He said rivers.Flow.Movement.Life.Power. We do not just need the Spirit around us.We need the Spirit flowing through us. Spirit Flow…  into our homes.…into our prayers.…into our serving.…into our conversations.…into our leadership.…through our church. We want to be a church full of the Spirit of God and flowing with the Spirit of God. So let's be that kind of Church.Let's be those kind of Christians. Come Grow, Come Flow Step 1 – Repent & refuse the world's pattern Repent of the Dead Sea way of  life.Repent of living only to consume. More for me.More comfort.More entertainment.More attention.More control. Repent of that and ask Jesus to help you flow. Step 2 – Make a commitment Start small. Serve someone.Start bigger. Start something.Start huge. Lead something that outlives you. Make a commitment to starting something. Step 3 – Take a faith-filled step Maybe you really need prayer?Maybe you need to come and receive Maybe you need to fill out a connection card with your prayer need and next steps. Maybe you need to ask God to fill you with His Spirit and surrender yourself to worship. And maybe for some of you… this may be your first real step toward Jesus. Your first faith-filled moment. Jesus is still inviting thirsty people to come and drink. So don't stay stagnant. Come.

Markets at all-time highs. A closed strait. The hottest inflation prints in years. The UK government is hanging by a thread. A US-China summit that resolved precisely nothing. We ask the only question that matters right now: how long can you keep running on empty? This week's episode covers six themes that are all pointing in the same direction. What We Cover1. The Global Equity Market ParadoxThe S&P 500, NASDAQ, and Philadelphia Semiconductor Index are at or near all-time highs. Oil is at $107. PPI is at a three-year high. The TACO trade (Trump Always Chickens Out) has been embarrassingly profitable — but a new Tex-Mex metaphor has entered the chat: NACHO. Not Any Chance Hormuz Opens. Michael Green warns the equity bid is structural, not rational — and when that unwinds, there are no conventional warning signs.2. Oil Inventory Maths — The Runway Is Running OutThe IEA reports global stockpiles fell 250 million barrels in March and April alone. JP Morgan's note — The Illusion of Plenty — puts OECD inventories at operational stress levels by early June and operational floor levels by September. Capital Economics sees $130–$140/barrel as the base case if Hormuz stays shut. And even a reopening tomorrow can't fix things fast enough — mine clearance, vessel redeployment, infrastructure repair: minimum two to three months. The canary in the coal mine turned out to be in Havana. Cuba ran out of fuel entirely. The energy minister's quote: "We have absolutely no fuel oil. We have absolutely no diesel." That's the Hormuz crisis on a human scale.3. Inflation is No Longer Just About Energy US CPI: 3.8% year-on-year. PPI: 6%, the highest since December 2022. Truck freight costs up 8.1% — the biggest jump since 2009. Services inflation up 1.2% in a single month. Real average hourly earnings have turned negative for the first time since April 2023. The Bank of England's Megan Greene: "Inflation risks are entirely on the upside." The second-round effects are now landing. Global bond yields are at one-year highs.4. Kevin Warsh's Impossible New JobConfirmed 54–45 — the narrowest Senate margin since Fed chair confirmation became required in 1977. For context: Powell got 84, Yellen got 56. Warsh scraped through. On his first day as chair-elect, PPI printed at 6%. CME FedWatch now prices a 30% chance of a rate hike by year-end. His first FOMC meeting: June 16th. It may be the most consequential since Volcker walked in on August 14th, 1979. We know how that one ended.5. The UK: Where the Bond Market Is the GovernmentLabour lost nearly 1,500 council seats. Reform took 1,451 of them. Gordon Brown turned up — and when Gordon Brown is the answer, someone is asking the wrong question. Wes Streeting walked into Downing Street. 94 MPs publicly called for Starmer to go. Andy Burnham booked his return ticket. The pound had its worst week since November 2024. The 30-year gilt sits near 5.7% — above every developed world peer. Bloomberg Economics estimates the May yield move alone adds £2 billion to the UK debt interest bill. Gilt traders are underweight. The market is now pricing the worst-case scenario for bonds — and Andy Burnham is it.6. The Summit That Resolved NothingYMCA played at the state banquet. Xi promised Trump rose seeds. Jensen Huang boarded Air Force One in Alaska. Boeing was promised 200 jets — the market expected 500; Boeing fell 4%. Xi made clear Taiwan is the most important issue in US-China relations and that independence is "fundamentally incompatible with peace." Trump didn't answer when asked about it. The $14 billion arms package for Taipei remains unsigned. China called the Iran conflict one that "should never have happened" — diplomatic code for neutrality, unless major concessions materialise elsewhere. Like Taiwan, perhaps. As Gerard Baker put it in The Times, this is the first time in nearly a century that an American president met another power's leader on equal terms. Trump came seeking help, not making demands. The Bottom LineInflation has moved beyond energy into services and freight. The UK bond market is delivering daily verdicts on a government in freefall. Oil inventory maths has weeks of runway left. The summit didn't deliver on Iran. Hormuz is being normalised under Iranian control — not reopened. Equities are at records. Something is going to break. Does your daily schedule look like a solid wall of back-to-back video calls? Do you find yourself constantly saying, "I just have to get through this week"? If so, you might be driving straight toward burnout. In this vital archive episode of The Connected Leadership Bytes, Andy Lopata sits down with leadership experts Dr. Amy Bradley and Dr. Katherine Semler to explore the hidden mechanics of exhaustion. Both women share their personal "wake-up calls"—from the realisation of spending nine consecutive days trapped on Zoom to a jarring moment of clarity standing outside in the freezing cold. This conversation moves beyond the typical advice of "taking a break." Amy and Katherine explain why the most passionate, high-achieving perfectionists are actually the most at risk. They break down the toxic extremes of workplace culture—those that stigmatise stress and those that glorify it—and reveal why a leader's empathy is the ultimate firewall against employee burnout. If you want to protect your team (and yourself) from running on empty, this episode is essential listening. What You Will Learn From This Episode The Passion Paradox: Why being deeply passionate about your work and unable to say "no" to interesting projects is a fast track to exhaustion. The Isolation of the "Eggshell" Approach: Why being too careful with your language around struggling colleagues can accidentally isolate them further. The End of the Buffer Zone: How the shift to virtual meetings destroyed the natural "commute cushion" between tasks, creating relentless cognitive strain. Actionable Insights Stop Asking "How Are You?": Ditch the throwaway greeting. Instead, use specific, questions like, "How are you coping with [Specific Project]?" or "Is there anything I can do to lighten your load today?" This proves you are genuinely listening and opens the door for real answers. Audit Your Diary for White Space: Immediately evaluate your calendar. If you have back-to-back calls booked for hours on end, break the pattern. Force 5-to-10-minute buffers into your schedule to step away from your desk, get fresh air, and reset your brain. In this sermon, we look at the widow in 1 Kings 17 and the quiet weight of motherhood. She carried more than she could handle, gave more than she had, and watched God provide more than she needed.Through her story, we are reminded that God sees the unseen, values the small things we bring Him, and calls us to trust Him one step at a time. Even when the jar looks empty and the future feels scary, God is still faithful to provide.A message for mothers, families, and anyone learning to trust God with their fear, their obedience, and their daily needs.INSTAGRAMTIKTOKYOUTUBEWEBSITE

Send us a messageIt's almost the end of the school year. For school staff, many at this point of the year are just exhausted - but it's way more than being just tired, it's depletion. There's a difference. Tired can be fixed with rest. Depletion runs deeper. It shows up when you've been giving, carrying, and pouring out for a long time without enough space to be refilled. You can still show up, still do your job, still keep everything moving—but something underneath it all just feels… off.The goal isn't to push through and ignore it - it's to pay attention to it. Because those signals aren't weakness, they're feedback. When we slow down enough to recognize what's draining us and what actually restores us, we begin to move out of survival mode and into something more sustainable. Not perfect and not instant, but more aware, more grounded, and more aligned. In this first episode of a 4-part series I'm calling "Refuel - Finishing Well Without Running Dry", we talk about "Running on Empty" - what it feels like to simply not have any more to give AND how we can address it and point ourselves to a path to replenishment when we look in the right places.  Though this series is themed for teachers, it's applicable to anyone who is at a point in their life when they just feel they have run out of what they have to give.

You knew you were tired. You knew you were exhausted. So why did you step in anyway?  In this episode, we're talking about something that doesn't get named often enough: the moment when the helping is still happening, but you are already gone. Not because you don't care. But because the caring is so deep, so wired into who you are, that it doesn't wait for you to have something left.  We talk about what your day actually looks like before you even walk out the door. The pattern you've been following so faithfully for so long that you stopped questioning whether it still fits who you are. And the quiet cost that's been building underneath all of it that you haven't fully let yourself look at yet. This isn't about stopping the giving. It's about seeing clearly why you can't, and what it's costing you that you haven't named yet. If something in you just went still reading that, this one is for you.

We all want to be great. Whether we admit it or not, there's something in us that wants to rise above, to be seen, to matter. In Mark 9, the disciples finally say it out loud: “Who is the greatest?” Instead of shutting the question down, Jesus redefines it. In this message, we'll see how our pursuit of greatness gets hijacked, why it ultimately leaves us empty, and how Jesus reveals a better way: not through climbing higher, but through descending in love, service, and ultimately the cross. California's Energy Crisis & Supply ShortagesThe discussion centers on a critical fuel shortage affecting California, including gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel. This is driven by the shutdown of major refineries in the state, creating concerns about price spikes, supply disruptions, and impacts on transportation, agriculture, and military operations.2. Proposed Executive Orders & Defense Production ActExperts have drafted seven executive orders that could be invoked under the Defense Production Act to address the crisis. These orders aim to:Increase domestic oil and gas productionReopen and support refineriesOverride California's regulatory authority for faster responseThe discussion suggests these would likely withstand legal challenges3. National Security ImplicationsThe conversation emphasizes broader security concerns, noting that California has historically been a major fuel supplier for the U.S. military and economy. The loss of refining capacity and increasing reliance on imports pose serious risks, especially in potential conflicts or global supply chain disruptions.4. Politics & Ideology in Energy PolicyThe podcast discussion suggests California's government has been unwilling or unable to address the crisis due to ideological priorities—particularly climate change policies—which have been prioritized over ensuring reliable and affordable energy supplies.5. Yes, you heard that correctly." If you can't move food, I mean, you can, if the Port of Los Angeles shuts down, the Porta Long Beach shuts down. And if you can move food people are going to starve in California and Reno and Vegas and Arizona. And that's just, it's a simple fact. This has created infrastructure bottlenecks and supply constraints, leading to price spikes.2. Economic Impact on Key IndustriesAgriculture: Farmers face bankruptcy due to skyrocketing diesel and fertilizer costsFishing: Small fishermen struggle with increased regulations and monitoring costsBroader economy: Risk of food shortages and potential civil unrest if fuel supply is disrupted3. Criticism of California's Policy FrameworkThe discussion critiques several state policies:The "cap and invest" program, characterized as ineffective and benefiting certain groupsReluctance to approve new oil and gas permits despite available resourcesA perceived disconnect between environmental policies and practical energy security needs4. Call for Federal ActionThere's an emphasis on the need for federal intervention, particularly invoking the Defense Production Act to stabilize the energy market and keep refineries operational.5. Potential SolutionsWe cover the alternatives, including:The Sable offshore project for increased domestic productionRenewable diesel options, though, with concerns about high energy consumption and costsCheck out The Energy News Beat Substack https://theenergynewsbeat.substack.com/Also, a shout-out to our great Sponsors:A shout-out to Steve Reese and the Reese Energy Consulting group for sponsoring the Podcasthttps://reeseenergyconsulting.com/.A shout-out to our New Sponsor, Data2 - We will be running an AI Centered Series and have lots of data rolling out!. https://www.data2.ai/resources/the-decision-lag-reportAnd check out The Energy News Beat Substack at https://theenergynewsbeat.substack.com/

In mid-March 2026, the Trump administration announced the largest single-country release of emergency oil reserves in history — 172 million barrels — as part of a coordinated 400-million-barrel release by 32 nations in response to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. In this episode, we dig into what the Strategic Petroleum Reserve actually is, how it was created, and what the historical record tells us about whether tapping it actually brings down oil prices. We also examine why the reserve is now headed toward levels not seen since the early 1980s, what the "exchange" structure of the current release means for replenishment, and why mineral owners shouldn't panic — but should pay attention. A Prayer for When You are Running on Empty Do you ever feel overwhelmed by everything you’re trying to accomplish? The responsibilities of home, work, relationships, health, ministry, and rest can quickly pile up until our to-do lists feel suffocating. In this episode by Erika Owens, we are reminded that the Christian life was never meant to be lived in our own strength. Through Paul’s words in Ephesians, we see that God provides supernatural power through the Holy Spirit to accomplish the good works He has prepared for us. When we stop striving and surrender our plans to Him, we discover that God is able to do far more than we could ever accomplish on our own. Reference: Ephesians 3:20-21 Prayer: Almighty God, You are sovereign over all things. You are powerful, You are good, and You alone can overcome all my insufficiencies. Lately I have been so focused on checking off all the boxes and accomplishing all the things that I have forgotten to seek You for strength and guidance. All the striving has made me tired and weary. I need you, Jesus. Today, I surrender every item on my to-do list to You! You have promised to carry my heavy burdens and give me rest for my soul. Thank You for a fresh perspective and a renewed energy to do the good things You have planned for me. In Jesus’ mighty name, I pray. Amen.
