Send us Fan MailTo be hopeless is to be without hope. To be without hope is to be without the fuel for life. But wait! Is the state of being hopeless really a hopeless state? Not as much as you think it is.In this message you will learn there is hope for the hopless. God is on your side and He is what you need to keep going. Buckle up and get ready to get back in the race.
Even after Israel's sinful demand for a king, God did not leave His people without hope. In 1 Samuel 12, Samuel shows them the path forward: reject the futility of self-made security, resolve to follow the Lord wholeheartedly, and rest in the faithfulness of God's wisdom. This episode is a reminder that hopelessness does not have to have the final word when we return to the Lord.
In this Easter sermon from Luke 23:32-43, Pastor Phil looks at how the crucifixion reveals both humanity's rejection of Christ and God's mercy for sinners. This passage shows that salvation is not earned but received, offering hope, forgiveness, and the promise of eternal life to anyone who trusts in Christ. Hope for the Hopeless from Ruth 1:1–13 invites us into the raw beginning of a story that starts with famine, loss, and deep disappointment. As we walk through Naomi's pain and hopelessness, we see how easily hardship can distort our view of God and cause us to believe He has abandoned us. Yet even when Naomi cannot see it, God is already at work ahead of her, faithfully moving toward redemption. This message reminds us that when our hope runs out, God's faithfulness does not — and that no season of loss, failure, or emptiness is beyond His power to restore.

The arrival of Jesus, is the joyful proclamation that the Savior, Jesus, The Messiah, has come. God took on the flesh and came to us, so we might know him, love him, and be saved by him. So that we might have an eternal hope, even in dark and difficult times.

Twelve years ago, Noelle Lawson died from alcohol poisoning. Her husband, Scott, had just been trained to do CPR and was able to revive her before the ambulance arrived. Their lives have never been the same since. Scott and Noelle share their story of alcoholism and how a deadly accident Scott was involved in while in high school delayed his obedience to follow God into the ministry for over 30 years. Both Scott and Noelle share how God transformed them by breaking their addiction to alcohol and move on to become counselors. Scott is the former pastor of Happy Trails Cowboy Church in Pelzer, S.C. and he and Noelle have recently merged their church with Temple Baptist in Simpsonville, SC and have moved their congregation there as well. They share their hard story of how God brought them into an amazing relationship with Him through His faithfulness and healing. If you are walking your own hard road through addiction, running from God or trying to see your way through a difficult time, I know Scott and Noelle will bring you encouragement today. And at the end of this episode, they generously share how you can reach out to them if you need help. This special couple truly has a heart for bringing healing and hope to those who've lost hope. Sometimes our pain comes from our own poor choices, and God uses that suffering to bring us back to Him. In this study of Psalm 38, Dr. John examines how David honestly faces the illness and isolation that followed his sin. Friends have abandoned him, enemies are circling, yet David shows the way forward: turn toward God instead of away, stay quiet under criticism, and simply confess without making excuses. This message brings hope to anyone feeling disgraced by their failures.Reasons for Worship: In a world of political turmoil, personal struggles, and the apparent prosperity of evil, where should believers place their trust? Dr. John's series on Psalms 33–41 called “Reasons for Worship” explores God's faithfulness amid life's challenges. From David's escapes to his reflections on the wicked, these psalms offer practical wisdom for trusting God, finding hope in desperate circumstances, and keeping faith when evil seems to prevail. This series brings both comfort and challenge, pointing to the God who is completely trustworthy in every season.
In today's message, we turn to Luke 15 to discover the heart of the Father for those who have wandered far from Him. No matter how deep the shame, how long the road, or how broken the life, His grace, mercy, and love are ready to meet us the moment we turn in repentance. And when even one sinner comes home, all of heaven erupts in rejoicing.

Hope for the Hopeless and Prayer for the Prayerless (Romans 8:26–30) - Dr. Bill Cook
How can you have hope for the future when literally everything seems hopeless? In this episode of Live the Bible, we peek inside the book of Lamentations. In this great little book, the prophet Jeremiah describes in graphic terms what he witnessed—the destruction of his country. The devastation caused a feeling of overwhelm. Of hopelessness. The good news for us? Our hope is based on the faithfulness of God—not on us. Support the show
In this life, you will suffer. It is not a matter of if, but when. As overwhelming as this can be, Peter reminds us that suffering is not strange to the way of Jesus, and we should not be surprised. Taking an honest look at suffering, Peter points us to its sanctifying effects and where we can find strength to endure.

Kyle Kauffman | May 11 2025 There are areas in our lives or the lives of others that may look or feel hopeless to us on the surface. We may struggle to believe that change is really possible or that things will ever get better. In Acts 12 we read of a time when things may have looked and felt hopeless to the early Christians in Jerusalem. We find God intervening in a powerful and amazing way to bring change. This story can help us in whatever areas we may struggle with hopelessness today by helping us to see that God hears and answers the prayers of his people. And it can help us to see that even when things may feel hopeless to us, God is still good and he can still be trusted.
