Paul begins Colossians with a prayer of thanksgiving for the work that the gospel is accomplishing in the lives of believers. The gospel always goes out in power and shapes believers into the image of Christ.
Our seventh and final basic is the Certain Return of Christ. Jesus is coming soon, and the heartbeat of the church is praying and waiting for his return.
Our sixth basic in this series focuses on the structure of the church. We see that the church is made up of unique members, each vital to the overall purpose.
The fifth basic that we focus on is the purpose of the church. Why do we gather? What are we even supposed to be accomplishing?
Our fourth basic to focus on is the work of the Holy Spirit. Jesus said it was for our good that he left earth because we would always have the Spirit with us. So, what does the Holy Spirit do in the world and in the life of the believer?
