Can someone claim to be born again while habitually practicing sin? According to several extremely clear (And neglected!) passages of Scripture, the answer is a resounding NO. When God's seed—His very nature—dwells within us through the Holy Spirit, we cannot continue to live in perpetual, intentional sin. This isn't about perfection or never stumbling, but about the fundamental trajectory of our lives. Are we characterized by righteousness or by ongoing rebellion? The lists in these passages—sexual immorality, idolatry, drunkenness, greed, reviling—aren't meant to condemn us but to wake us up from a coma of deception. They function like spiritual pain receptors, alerting us to danger so we can change course. We are called to examine ourselves honestly: do we possess mere intellectual agreement with gospel facts, or has Jesus truly taken residence in our hearts, producing a new nature that cannot coexist with habitual sin? Eternity for so many professing Christians hangs in the balance and how they respond to these truths that lukewarm leaders avoid.
Are you holding back a piece of your heart from God? Pastor CeCe Love returns with a powerful message that challenges the comfort of partial commitment. Drawing from Deuteronomy 6, Revelation 3, and Jesus' own words, she argues that "all in" isn't extreme—it's the only response worthy of a God who gave everything for us. In this awakening episode, you'll discover why: Partial love can be a form of betrayal. Lukewarm faith is inherently dangerous. True discipleship means doing the Father's will. Prepare to examine your allegiance and be encouraged to live a life of total surrender that blesses generations to come. If you're ready to follow Jesus with your whole heart, this message is for you. If you would like additional information, books, or if you would like to make a love donation; please visit us at https://www.walkinginpower.orgRevelation, chapter 4, marks a critical chronological shift in the book of Revelation, moving the narrative from "the things which are" (the messages to the seven churches in Chapters 2 and 3) to "the things which shall take place after these things." This phrase, repeated in verse 1, signifies the end of the current church age. John is given a vision of "a door standing open in heaven" and is commanded, "Come up here." This event is widely interpreted by scholars as a symbolic depiction of the Rapture of the Church. This view is supported by the fact that immediately after this chapter, the Church (a term frequently mentioned in Chapters 1-3) is conspicuously absent from the earthly events and judgments described in the subsequent chapters, only reappearing in Chapter 19 for the return of Christ. The heavenly scene in Revelation 4 immediately presents God the Father on a glorious throne, surrounded by twenty-four thrones occupied by twenty-four elders, who are clothed in white garments and wear golden crowns. The text explains that the elders are representatives of the Church, implying that the entire body of believers has been gathered into heaven. This gathering, or "snatching away," is what is commonly referred to as the Rapture, a concept that is substantiated throughout the New Testament, particularly in 1 Thessalonians 4:17, which describes believers being "caught up together... to meet the Lord in the air." The transcription emphasizes that the rapture is imminent and does not require any further prophecy to be fulfilled, contrasting with the Second Coming of Christ, which has specific preconditions.

As we pull out of the mailbag, Jesus' final letter to the seven churches, we find Him calling out a church that had grown so self-sufficient they no longer depended on heaven's resources—leaving them distastefully lukewarm to Jesus. His words still echo today: Have we become lukewarm, too? To support this ministry, visit www.waynesborofm.com/give

Jesus warns us to “Watch out for false prophets.” But what would a false prophet look like today? Would they be preaching heretical sermons … or lukewarm … or just uninformed?
Jesus confronts the church in Laodicea for being lukewarm, which means spiritually useless because of their pride and self-sufficiency. In this message, we see how Jesus offers an invitation to restore His people, aligning their purpose with God's Kingdom.

Have you ever felt like your passion for God isn't what it used to be? In this episode, we talk about what it really means to be lukewarm , not cold, not hot, just comfortably in between. We'll unpack three revealing signs that show when a believer's heart has grown distant from God, and how to reignite that passion for Christ again!
Rudyard Griffiths and Sean Speer discuss Carney's post-budget release and why it received a lukewarm reception from business and industry groups. They argue that the budget contains too many scattered priorities rather than bold, signature initiatives, and explore whether the budget's technocratic, state-centric approach to economic development can deliver on its promises. They also discuss the budget's immediate political implications—including efforts to entice Conservative MPs to cross the floor. The Hub is Canada's fastest growing independent digital news outlet. Jesus refuses to be a guest in the heart He died to govern. In this message from Revelation 3, Jesus calls the church out of comfort and into wholehearted surrender. It's time to open the door, rekindle the flame, and let Jesus take His rightful place.
In this powerful episode, Eric Stephens welcomes back returning guest Taylor Johnson for an honest conversation about moving from a lukewarm faith to a bold, all-in relationship with Jesus.Taylor shares her personal journey of breaking free from self-preservation, fear of rejection, and spiritual complacency to walk confidently in her God-given purpose. Together, she and Eric discuss what it means to truly trust God, live out the Word, and keep your fire burning through daily surrender and obedience. From reflections on Revelation 3 to stories of faith, humility, and revival, this episode will challenge and encourage every believer to go deeper, let go of idols, and live a life fully aligned with Christ.
In this powerful sermon, Pastor Jamey Bridges challenges the modern church with a sobering message from Revelation 3 about spiritual complacency. Through the lens of the ancient Laodicean church—wealthy but spiritually lukewarm—he masterfully connects their struggle to today's American Christianity. Drawing on the vivid imagery of lukewarm water in Laodicea, Pastor Jamey warns against the dangerous comfort zone where believers claim to love Jesus while living like the world. Yet his message pivots to hope, emphasizing Jesus' invitation to spiritual renewal through repentance. With compelling insights about the enemy's schemes of distraction, deception, and division, he reminds us that we don't fight for victory but from victory through Christ. The sermon culminates in a stirring call to action—to move beyond comfortable Christianity, surrender fully to God's plan, and share our testimonies boldly, knowing we are overcomers through the blood of the Lamb. Thanks for listening! Revelation 3:14-22 ESV To the Church in Laodicea14 “And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: ‘The words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of God's creation.15 “‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! 16 So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. 17 For you say, “I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing,” not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked. 18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, so that you may be rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself and the shame of your nakedness may not be seen, and salve to anoint your eyes, so that you may see. 19 Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent. 20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me. 21 The one who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.'” For more information about Redeemer Church Lubbock visit our website at redeemerlubbock.org.

You may be living lukewarm! Dr. Gabe takes us on a deep dive into Jesus' message to the church of Laodicea, as revealed in the book of Revelation. Unlike the typical fire-and-brimstone sermon, this teaching challenges modern cultural mindsets about wealth, work, and generosity—and their alignment (or misalignment) with kingdom principles.Dr. Gabe presses us to reconsider our relationship with generosity, shatters the myth of the “prosperity gospel,” and invites us to experience abundance God's way—not through endless toil or stinginess, but by reclaiming passion, purpose, and trust in God's provision.Support the showText encounteratl to 94000 to stay up-to-date on all things Encounter.Worship with EncounterSundays at 9 AM ET | Wednesdays at 7:30 PM ETSupport EncounterText egive to 77977 Connect with EncounterFacebook | Instagram | TikTok | YouTube | WebsiteConnect with Dr. GabeInstagram | YouTube | Website
This episode is personal, raw, and necessary. It's not a commentary on the headlines or a breakdown of what happened. It's a reckoning. A heart check. A call to ask ourselves: Am I really living with conviction? Am I leading in alignment with what I believe—even when it's inconvenient, uncomfortable, or costly? In this episode of Your Big Next, I reflect on the life and legacy of Charlie Kirk—his courage, his clarity, and his unwillingness to live lukewarm. His recent death shook something loose in me. And while I didn't record this to analyze the noise, I couldn't stay silent either. This is for the leaders who are feeling the tension. Who know they're being called to rise. Who feel the urgency to stop playing small and start leading with truth.Inside this episode, I share:

In this episode of The Disciples Journal, I share the exact verse, why it hit me so hard, and the practical steps I took to move from half-hearted faith to fully devoted to Christ. Lukewarmness isn't neutral—it's dangerous and spiritually misleading. Ray, E.Z., Mark, and Oscar examine the powerful message to the church in Laodicea and encourage believers to examine their hearts. Has your passion diminished? In Revelation, Christ rebukes a self-reliant church that no longer depends on Him for strength or purpose. The call isn't about striving more. It's about surrender, trust, and returning to intimacy with the Lord who pursues us.The guys explain how Laodicea's water supply often arrived lukewarm, making it unfit for drinking. That same unpleasant temperature reflected the church's spiritual condition and lack of power. Lukewarm water, like lukewarm faith, served no purpose. It symbolized a church that had lost its spiritual vitality and didn't even realize it. They explore how the church is called to be salt and light, a shining source of hope and truth in a dark, dying world. That mission requires zeal, not apathy or self-confidence. Good works don't save, but they are the fruit of saving grace and evidence of transformed hearts. We are His workmanship, created in Christ for good works that bring Him glory. True zeal isn't about chaos or hype; it's steady, humble obedience flowing from a heart filled with gratitude for the gospel and shaped by the Word.Mark reflects on how God speaks to the heart, not through empty words or outward performance. Lip service doesn't move Him. It's in real, desperate prayer and sincere repentance that transformation occurs. Repentance is sweet, hope-filled, and full of promise. It's not about guilt; it's about turning fully toward Christ with open hands. Ray shares how, as a new believer, he was consumed with a desire to share the gospel with everyone around him. That same fire is available to all of us who ask.Zeal is contagious. When believers live fully devoted to Christ, the lives around them are changed. Many hesitate to apply that same passion to their faith. Some believers go all in for hobbies and careers, but when it comes to eternity, they pull back. The Christian life isn't easy or casual. It demands endurance, discipline, and spiritual awareness. Christians must be grounded in Scripture, guided by truth, and surrounded by people who speak life into their walk. Oscar brings it back to Revelation. Salvation is not earned. It's a gift of grace through faith alone. When you truly see the beauty of God's mercy, your affections are reshaped, and zeal becomes the natural response. Christ is worthy of your whole life—every moment, every heartbeat, every ounce of devotion you have to give.Send us a textThanks for listening!
