In this episode of the Growth Now Movement, I sit down with Bill Cates, one of the leading voices in the world of referrals, client relationships, and financial success. Bill's journey is far from ordinary — from his early days as a rock and roll drummer to becoming a best-selling author, speaker, and expert in the financial services industry, his story is packed with lessons on reinvention, resilience, and redefining success. We dive into his brand-new book, The Hidden Heist, and unpack the mindset shifts that can help anyone unlock greater abundance — both financially and personally. Bill shares his perspective on how our beliefs, self-worth, and value perception directly shape our relationship with money. This isn't just about making more — it's about changing how you think about money, time, and value so you can create long-term fulfillment and balance. Throughout our conversation, Bill reveals the practical strategies that have helped countless professionals and entrepreneurs build thriving businesses through referrals and relationships. We talk about how to increase the real value you bring to others, the magic of compounding value (not just compounding interest), and how the smallest consistent actions can create massive long-term success. Bill also opens up about his personal life — from getting married later in life to becoming a father — and how those experiences transformed his understanding of love, legacy, and what success truly means. It's an honest, powerful conversation that bridges business and life, strategy and heart, ambition and contentment. Whether you're a financial advisor, entrepreneur, or someone simply looking to redefine your money mindset, this episode will give you tools and perspective to grow your wealth, deepen your relationships, and live more intentionally. In This Episode, You'll Learn: How to shift your money mindset to attract more abundance and flow Why your beliefs about value determine your income and impact The real power of referrals and client relationships for business growth How compounding value leads to exponential results in life and business Practical strategies to build trust and deliver transformation to clients The importance of rest, rejuvenation, and balance in sustainable success How fatherhood reshaped Bill's view of success, purpose, and love
In today's episode, I'm joined by Wade Reed, a financial coach, entrepreneur, husband, and father whose faith and family fuel his purpose. We talk about the journey from scarcity to abundance — and how losing everything can sometimes be the best teacher. I share the story of building wealth, losing over $100 million, and discovering that happiness doesn't come from what we earn, but from who we become. Together, we explore what it means to “engineer” wealth, how to stop living in the “I'll be happy when” mindset, and why real success starts with gratitude, purpose, and faith.
In this episode of Your Retirement Planning Simplified, Joe breaks down the five and a half guaranteed retirement income sources every Canadian should understand—from CPP and OAS to pensions and annuities. Learn how to build a dependable retirement income floor so you can retire with confidence and weather any market conditions. Key Takeaways from this Episode Defined Benefit Pensions – A disappearing but powerful guaranteed income source, backed by employers or plan sponsors. Know your plan's funding health and inflation protection. Canada Pension Plan (CPP) – One of the most reliable lifetime income streams. Delaying CPP can act as “longevity insurance,” boosting payments by 8.4% per year after age 65. Old Age Security (OAS) – Government-funded and guaranteed, but subject to clawbacks for higher-income retirees — making tax-efficient withdrawal strategies critical. Annuities – Think of these as “do-it-yourself pensions.” You exchange a lump sum for guaranteed lifetime income, ideal for those who value simplicity and peace of mind. Guaranteed Minimum Withdrawal Benefits (GMWBs) – Hybrid investment-insurance products that can provide guaranteed income while keeping you invested, though often with complexity and higher fees. Bonus (“Half”) Sources: GIS for lower-income retirees and rental income, which may feel stable, but lacks a true guarantee. Ready to take the next step? In this episode, Joe Curry explains how smart RIF planning can reduce lifetime taxes, protect OAS and government benefits, and even help grow wealth. Learn how to use income smoothing, tax brackets, and the three-bucket strategy to master retirement income planning. Key Takeaways · RIF withdrawals aren't a punishment—they're part of a tax-deferred system designed for the decumulation phase of retirement. · Starting RRSP withdrawals early can smooth out income and prevent OAS clawbacks later in life. · The pension tax credit offers up to $2,000 in RIF withdrawals tax-free after age 65. · Using the three-bucket strategy—pre-tax, tax-free, and taxable—helps optimize annual withdrawals and minimize taxes. · Annual reviews are essential to adapt your withdrawal strategy as tax rules, income, and benefits change. —------------------------------------------------------------ Ready to take the next step? What if the secret to building wealth wasn't more hustle… but deep self-connection?
I'm joined today by the brilliant Elizabeth Ralph, former energy trader turned spiritual teacher, investor, and host of The Spiritual Investor Podcast. Elizabeth's Spiritual Investor Method blends financial strategy with energetic alignment, helping people move from survival-mode money patterns into effortless wealth and sovereignty. We dig into how deeply-ingrained beliefs shape your financial reality, why “money is energy” is more than a nice concept, and how to collapse the gap between where you are and where you want to be. We explore why wealthy people often operate from a baseline assumption that money is easy to create, while many others unconsciously normalize struggle. If you've ever wrestled with the idea that you can't be both deeply spiritual and financially free, this conversation will open your mind, dissolve old limitations, and invite you to step fully into the role of conscious wealth creator. Have you ever stopped and looked at your life and thought, Why do I feel poorer than I am? I know I have. On paper, things are going well. I've written books, worked with big companies, and my little company continues to grow. I've built a career that I'm proud of, and I work hard to live within my means, especially with six kids who are always wanting lessons in everything! From the outside, it looks like it is all going really well.. But when I pause to reflect, there's still this feeling of being... poorer than I'd like to be. And no, I'm not talking about the literal kind of poverty, the kind that keeps people awake at night, wondering how they're going to make ends meet. I'm not talking about the kind of struggle that comes with scarcity. What I'm talking about is something deeper. A kind of poverty that can't be solved with money, no matter how much you have in the bank. Ryan Holiday recently wrote about this in an article titled “These Are All the Ways I Feel Poorer Than I Am.” In it, he talks about a conversation he had with Sahil Bloom about the different kinds of wealth, wealth that doesn't show up on your paycheck. Time wealth, emotional wealth, social wealth, mental wealth, and physical wealth. These are the kinds of wealth we often overlook, even though they shape our happiness far more than any amount of money ever will. Today, I want to dive into this idea. I want to explore how, even though my life is going well, I still deal with anxiety and stress, worrying about things that haven't happened, missing out on present moments because my mind is too busy. I want to talk about how I've neglected my social wealth and how I don't have enough close friends anymore because I'm too wrapped up in work and family. But here's the thing: The more I think about it, the more I realize that true wealth isn't about the size of your bank account, it's about the balance in your life. It's about the freedom to live on your terms, the relationships you build, and the moments you enjoy, fully present. So, if you've ever felt like you have everything, but still feel like something's missing, this episode is for you. We'll explore how to stop chasing the wrong kinds of wealth and start focusing on the ones that really matter. And maybe, just maybe, you'll discover that you've had everything you need all along. **From Ryan Holiday's website: "These Are All The Ways I Feel Poorer Than I Am." (It is a great read!) QUOTES BY DR. BRAY "Worry and stress are a real cost—they have stolen hours of sleep, moments of joy, and precious time with family." "We spend so much time worrying about imaginary problems that we create real ones." "True wealth is measured not by the balance of your bank account, but by the balance in your life."
Ever wonder what it takes to succeed in real estate for the long haul? Author and hard money lender Joel Miller, with 35 years of experience, shared his wisdom with us on a recent podcast episode. His book, Build Real Estate Wealth, isn't just a read—it's a manual for building a legacy. Miller's core philosophy is simple: success comes from a blend of knowledge, action, and integrity. He emphasized the importance of: Avoiding "Paralysis by Analysis": Learn the fundamentals, then start small. The real education begins when you take action. Finding the Right Property: How to spot a good deal and avoid the common "yeah, but" pitfalls. Screening for Success: Tenant selection is a critical skill that starts with attracting the right people to your property. True Wealth vs. Riches: Miller distinguishes between simply having money and using it to build a life of purpose and community. God's heart for His children is to live in true prosperity—not the fleeting wealth of the world, but the eternal inheritance that comes through Christ. In the story of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15), we see the dangers of demanding an inheritance prematurely and the grace of the Father who restores without shame. True sons and daughters understand that their greatest inheritance is found in being with the Father, walking in humility, and trusting His timing. Real prosperity is found in obedience, gratitude, faithfulness, and walking in step with the Spirit. ✨ Whether you are navigating financial challenges, seeking God's wisdom in your work, or longing to understand biblical prosperity, our hope is that this message will encourage and equip you to rest in the Father's love and power to provide.
Intro:Good morning. My name is David Jansson, and we're continuing our Summer of Wisdom series on Proverbs. Today, we're tackling the topic of money and wealth. The Bible has over 2,350 verses on this, and God cares how we get money, what we think about it, and what we do with it. This sermon, "10 Lessons on Wealth from Proverbs," will distill God's perspective and challenge us.Scripture References: Proverbs 10:4, 10:15, 11:4, 11:16, 11:24-26, 13:11, 14:20, 15:16, 15:27, 18:11, 19:17, 21:20, 22:1, 22:7, 22:9, 23:4-5, 28:19, 28:20, 28:22, 30:8-9, Matthew 6:19-21, 19:23-24, 1 Timothy 6:10, Hebrews 13:5, Malachi 3:10, 2 Corinthians 9:6-15, Acts 4:32-35Key Points:Wealth is Good, But Deceitful: Proverbs affirms wealth is good but emphasizes it's not the most important thing. It's a "high wall in his imagination" (Prov 18:11), providing false security. The love of money blinds us to our need for God.How to Build Lasting Wealth God's Way:Diligence and Hard Work: God provides through our consistent labor (Prov 10:4).Justice, Not Injustice: Wealth gained by deceit will not last (Prov 13:11).Seek Wisdom: God's wisdom brings enduring wealth, better than gold (Prov 8:18).Aim for True Wealth, Not Showy: Don't waste money impressing others; find security in God.Flee from Debt: Debt makes you a "slave of the lender" (Prov 22:7). Trust God to provide.Build Wealth Slowly: Getting rich quick often leads to ruin (Prov 13:11).Give Generously: This is the most important purpose of wealth. Giving generously is an act of faith and the best antidote to the danger of wealth. God promises to bless those who give (Mal 3:10).Conclusion:Wealth is good but dangerous. The way to navigate this is to pursue it and use it God's way, through generous giving. This is where true abundance lies. Your security, authority, and God's love for you are not tied to your bank account.Calls to Action:Reflect: Where is your heart's hope? Repent if needed.Give Generously: Consider tithing or supporting ministries. Test God in this, as He invites us to.Worship: Let's worship and take communion, rejoicing in the security of God's love. In this episode of the True Wealth Investors Real Estate Podcast, host Chad Harris debunks the myths surrounding real estate investing and makes a powerful case for why rental properties are the superior strategy for building long-term wealth and achieving financial freedom. Chad breaks down the concept of "One Rental to Freedom", explaining how to create wealth using other people's money and the importance of building equity from the moment you buy. He contrasts this with the short-term gains of wholesaling and flipping, highlighting the significant, often overlooked, long-term financial benefits of holding rental properties. Listeners will learn about the six key advantages of rental investing, including passive income, substantial tax benefits, and the power of appreciation on the entire value of the property, not just the equity.Visit our website at www.TrueWealthInvestors.com for more real estate wisdom and resources. On this week's Stansberry Investor Hour, Corey welcomes his colleague Brett Eversole back to the show. Brett is the editor of the True Wealth, True Wealth Systems, and DailyWealth newsletters. He also serves on the Investment Committee for Stansberry Portfolio Solutions. Brett kicks things off by sharing what he learned from his mentor Steve Sjuggerud, including the investment philosophy of buying assets that are "cheap, hated, and in an uptrend." He examines the recent tariff drama and why he believes we're about to return to a boring market fueled by fundamentals after several months of turbulence. As Brett explains, a lot of it has to do with increased capital spending from hyperscalers. (0:46) Next, Brett reviews the difference between secular bull markets and cyclical bull markets. He compares today's bull market (driven by AI) with the bull market of the late '90s (driven by the Internet), noting that a massive infrastructure buildout caused both. Brett predicts a normal market for the next few years, followed by a dot-com-style AI boom and then a "lost decade." He also discusses the S&P 500 Index decoupling from the U.S. economy, tariffs hurting smaller companies, and why he's bullish on gold and silver. (14:59) Finally, Brett talks about indicators that investors can use to gauge the market's underlying health, as well as what divergence between the indicators can mean in both the short and long term. He then dives into his work on Stansberry Portfolio Solutions, including the strategy the team uses to find the best companies and how to manage risk. And he closes things out with an in-depth analysis of today's real estate market. (33:29)

Because you don't have the skills to wield it." - Alex HormoziEntrepreneur Alex Hormozi shares a transformative perspective that challenges conventional investment wisdom, revealing why investing in yourself trumps any stock market return. Drawing from his family's experience of losing everything to government seizure and his father's journey from arriving in America with just $1,000 to becoming a successful doctor, Hormozi exposes the critical flaw in get-rich-quick mentalities. His powerful analogy of wishing for a weapon without the skill to wield it illuminates why so many lottery winners and overnight success stories end up broke again.Hormozi's "S&Me 500" philosophy demonstrates how a $1,000 investment in skill development can yield exponentially greater returns than traditional investments, potentially turning modest savings into $30,000 rather than $1,300. His grandfather's wisdom about having "two hands and one brain" becomes a blueprint for building unshakeable wealth that no government, divorce, or economic crash can confiscate. He points to our society's tendency to demonize success and the widespread belief that celebrating personal wins equals ego as factors preventing people from emotionally processing their accomplishments.Brendon shares his profound insight that what all humans ultimately seek is "aliveness" - that feeling of vitality from meaningful pursuits. He reveals how the wealthiest individuals he knows don't flaunt their riches but instead focus on simplicity, gratitude, and giving back. Dean shares his personal journey of learning to appreciate even the struggles that shaped him, noting how true wealth begins when money is "out of the way" and the focus turns to becoming a better version of yourself.Dean distinguishes between those who are wealthy yet unfulfilled and those who find true peace with their success. The difference? Gratitude. Instead of chasing the "bigger jet, bigger house, bigger yacht" – which he describes as "chasing a sunset while running east" – Dean advocates for looking in the rearview mirror to appreciate your progress.
