Jay taps into the question so many people quietly carry: “Is this really what I’m meant to do?” With honesty and clarity, he challenges the myths we’ve been taught about purpose, that it’s a single calling, that passion comes first, or that clarity arrives before action. Instead, Jay reframes purpose as something you build through curiosity, experimentation, and small, consistent steps. He reminds us that most people aren’t lost, they’re avoiding what they already know because of what it might cost. Jay offers a practical framework for finding direction. He points to the things that come naturally, what deeply moves or frustrates you, the challenges you’ve lived through, and even who you envy as signals worth paying attention to. These aren’t random, they’re clues guiding you toward the work that’s truly aligned with you. The message is simple but powerful: stop waiting for certainty, start moving, and trust that clarity comes through action. In this episode you'll find: How to Find Your Purpose How to Turn Passion Into Purpose How to Start Before You’re Ready How to Overcome Fear of Failure How to Build Confidence Through Action How to Become More Yourself The quiet ideas you keep returning to, the things that light something up inside you, the dreams you keep pushing aside, they matter for a reason. Start where you are, with what you have, and trust that clarity often comes after action, not before it. So many of us think that if something is right it should feel easy. The right path will challenge you just as much as it inspires you. It will stretch you, confront you and sometimes even scare you not because it's wrong, but because it's growing you.In this episode I talk about the difference between something that is hard because it's aligned and something that is hard because it's not right for you. We dive into the signs to look for, how your nervous system plays a role in what feels “safe” and why discomfort doesn't always mean you're going the wrong way.If you've been questioning where you are in life this episode will help you come back to yourself and start trusting what actually feels true for you.Instagram: self_care_studiowww.selfcarebybarbarathompson.com.auSend us Fan MailSupport the show

Send us Fan MailThe hardest pushback often comes from the people closest to you—so what if that resistance is actually confirmation you're on the right path?In this episode of Unarmored Talk, I sit down with Rachel Singletary—minister, facilitator, and leader—to talk about what obedience really looks like when your calling demands growth, discipline, and time. We get honest about the refining process people don't post—the part that humbles you, stretches you, and challenges your relationships.Rachel breaks down why resistance often starts at home, how to stay grounded when people bring up your past, and why being “qualified” isn't the requirement for your calling. We also discuss the power of silence—why “no answer is an answer,” and how staying calm protects your peace and purpose. If you care about faith, purpose, leadership, and mental fitness, this conversation will meet you where you are.

Judging others seems to be as easy for us as breathing air, and yet, when we judge we create an inner turmoil that exacts energy from us and leaves us feeling drained and exhausted. When we can learn to manage our thoughts and step into grace instead of judgment, we will find that we grow into a space of overflow, a place where we feel energized and an abundance of love and compassion. Morning Mantra: "The right path will feel like relief not resistance."The best way to find out whether you're on the right path? Is to stop looking at the path and feel it instead. Does it feel good? Does it feel like it aligns with your goal? Your values? Your best self? This doesn't mean that the right path is always easy. It means that the right path is the one you are willing to keep walking even when things get difficult. It means you feel good about moving forward and you could care less about looking back.Only you know which is the right path. Because it's the one that ignites your passion. It fits your idea of happiness. It doesn't question your self-worth or ask you to compromise who you are.Once you figured out what brings you joy, your purpose, your passion, you don't have to worry about finding the right path because basically any path will take you there.Just remember, if you find a path of no obstacles, it probably won't lead you anywhere. Set backs and detours ask you to decide how dedicated you are to continuing the journey.#BeOnYourPath
On this week's Let It Rip Friday, we discuss that sometimes the path you're meant to be on is lonely. Keep going.

In this heartfelt episode of Radio Medium, psychic medium Laura Lee tunes into Maureen's spirit connections, delivering powerful messages from departed loved ones, animal companions, and spiritual guides offering reassurance during a time of transition. Calling from California, Maureen receives validation from her parents in spirit along with the loving presence of her recently departed cat, Luna, reminding her that soul connections never truly end. Laura Lee shares how spirit communication often appears through subtle confirmations—sounds, symbols, memories, and even signs like wind chimes—helping us recognize when we are being divinely guided toward the right place and timing. As Maureen considers relocating to find tranquility while staying connected to family, spirit emphasizes the importance of honoring personal well-being and trusting intuitive nudges that lead toward alignment and inner calm.

Like no matter how much you pray… plan…push… Doors stay shut Momentum stalls Progress feels like dragging a boulder uphill Let's call it what it is — FRUSTRATING. And the lies start circling in your head: "You're off course. Maybe you missed it. Maybe you're not called to this." But here's the truth: Hard doesn't mean wrong. It might just mean God's working. That awkward anxious feeling does not mean you do not belong or that you are failing. It means you are learning, adjusting, and figuring things out in real time.I break down how the feeling never really goes away and why the difference is how you interpret it. Instead of seeing it as proof that you are not capable, you can learn to see it as information. You are doing something new. You are gaining clarity. You are building trust with yourself one step at a time.We also talk about plans changing and why adjusting does not mean you failed. It means you are paying attention. Whether this shows up in health and fitness, a career shift, a new habit, or something personal, the goal is not to get it perfect. The goal is to keep showing up, making decisions, and learning from them. You are not an imposter. You are in process. His new book, The Business of Medicine: The Definitive Guide to Help New Physicians Start Their Career on the Right Path and Avoid Costly Mistakes, tackles what medical training ignores: contract negotiation, non-competes, choosing the right CPA and attorney, and understanding your self-worth.Ben and Dr. Giep discuss why new physicians get blindsided by job offers, how to vet a practice properly, and the reality of community neonatology versus academic medicine. They also explore the growing role of AI in healthcare and what it means for the next generation of physicians. Whether you're finishing fellowship or reconsidering your current position, this conversation offers practical guidance on taking control of your career—and avoiding costly mistakes along the way. Can we get real for a second? So many entrepreneurs are waiting to feel "ready." Waiting for the right gear, the right timing, the right confidence. But here's the thing… you'll never have enough. In this short but mighty episode, I'm sharing a powerful snippet from a past conversation with my friend Ken Coleman—also known as America's Career Coach—and whew, it's a gut check. We talk about:The myth that you need more experience, tools, or permission to start. Why being uncomfortable is part of the assignment if you're growing. The real truth about imposter syndrome (spoiler: it never goes away). And my personal “3 M's” that I lean on when the fear tries to creep in.This is a message for anyone who's sitting on a dream because they're afraid of being judged, failing publicly, or starting messy.Let me remind you: people will always have an opinion—whether you sit on the couch or start that business, whether you win or fail. So if you're going to be judged anyway, you might as well be judged while chasing your purpose.Let's normalize failing forward. Let's normalize standing up after getting knocked down—again and again. Because the people you see “winning” didn't avoid failure… they just kept getting up.The next time fear whispers, “Who are you to do this?” I want you to flip it and ask, “Who am I not to?”This episode is a short pep talk, a rally cry, and a reminder that your purpose doesn't need permission.Let's stop waiting. Let's start doing.Click play to hear all of this and:[00:36] Why we believe we need more than we actually do to start[01:19] “You'll never feel like enough”—what we must accept to grow[01:52] People will always have opinions—do it anyway[02:56] The truth about getting knocked down (and getting up again)[03:43] The 3 M's that helped me move past imposter syndrome[04:24] Why your message, your medium, and you still matter
