Why is it so hard to talk about money? Maybe because it reveals the deepest things within us! It's one of the most vulnerable things even as Christians to talk about and possibly one of the most important conversations we should be having. So we invited our friends and owners of Biblical Finance, Chris and Kathy to the table...let's press in to the hard things! To connect with Chris and Kathy for stewardship coaching and community wellness for churches, BIBLICALFINANCE.CA. Or for straight up business coaching, STEFFAN.CA. We also talk about DISC, and if you would like to know more, contact Kim at sparkgrowthcoaching@gmail.com, a Maxwell DISC Certified Trainer. It's a great tool to find out what motivates you...and what doesn't. When you have greater awareness of how you are naturally driven, you will better understand those around you and know how to better connect with those that are motivated differently, communicate differently, and view tasks and relationships differently.
We've all had challenges over the last couple years and musician and teacher, Sara-Mae Dafoe shares how her creative outlet of writing music helped her process through some hard things. And now her songs are bringing healing to others. ♡ Let local artists know that you are thankful for their work and encourage them by: 1. Following their social media accounts (Sara-Mae's facebook, instagram & youtube and look for her on all the music platforms!) 2. Cheering them on at their live events 3. Sharing with others Darrel also mentions Francesca Battistelli's new song, God is Good, and you can listen here.
We've all been in those awkward moments of what to say or do when someone you know has a major loss. Sorry, just doesn't seem enough yet avoiding isn't the answer either! A local Calgary author, Doreen Klassen has been there and has lots of little nuggets to encourage us with what is helpful as well as the what not to do's. Her book, Grief Shared, is available to purchase, meaningfullittlebooks.ca -- and sign up for her monthly newsletter while you are at it! If you enjoyed this episode, please consider subscribing to this podcast and even better, give us a rating and write a review! And as always, if you would like to join us at the table, sendtothetable@gmail.com. Have a great week friends and take care of each other. ♡ Darrel & Kim
And, now the conclusion with author Rachel McKenzie. There was just too much to edit, and it didn't do her story justice, so we wrap up our conversation at the table here as Rachel continues to share vulnerably about her story and now book! "Becoming Rachel, The Clash Of Two Kingdoms", is Rachel's personal journey of the Lord calling her out of the dark world of the occult and into her original design, as a daughter of our Sovereign God and her inheritance in Christ Jesus. With her focus on the goodness of God and a loving Saviour, Rachel's transformative story is a powerful and hope-filled one! To find out more about Rachel and her story, check out her website HERE and join us next week as we carry on the conversation!

This week, Kim and I are talking about God and Science. Yes in the same conversation! Is it okay to be a Christian and believe in Science? Are they parallel topics or are they interwoven? And to think this conversation all started with the seed of a song. Join us at the table and let us know what you think: sendtothetable@gmail.com. Is there a difference between being vulnerable and brain dumping? You know those times when you pour out your heart and then wonder if you should have. Can you ever be too honest or too vulnerable? I'm not sure we landed the plane on this one but we brought the conversation to the table as we prepare our hearts and minds for Easter week. We would love to hear your thoughts, you can reach us at sendtothetable@gmail.com. Link to the song we talk about "Honest" by Song House: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGwf5vbJTao
We're back!! Join us around the table as we talk about why today is a special day...and a little bit of what's been going on in our world. We would love to hear what God's showing you in this season. If you want to be part of an upcoming episode and have a conversation with me and my bride, send us an email: sendtothetable@gmail.com.
So much happens in the process that prepares us for the place God is taking us. Listen in as we share part of ours. Link to Elevation Worship's "Available": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTSQun6B66E
How do you talk about the laying down of our own dreams and then segue into talking about the dreams that were stolen within the Indigenous community as hundreds and probably thousand more graves are being uncovered in the Residential Schools? Two heavy topics that we bring into one conversation and then wrap it up with some celebration in our home this week. We invite you to the table...bring all your feels and let's talk about it. Leave your comments here or email us at sendtothetable@gmail.com.
Being a believer doesn't mean that life is always easy but that we have a good Father who is there for us through it all. Sometimes trusting God in those places is a battle between the flesh and the spirit. Am I right? How do you process through the struggles and disappointments in life? Join in the conversation on fb @mrdarreldaniels or sendtothetable@gmail.com
When the upside down world standard says you've failed, you're not qualified - God's Kingdom says, bring me your brokenness and I will turn it right side up. Listen in to one of the ways the Lord took what the enemy wanted to use against us, and turned it into a testimony of His goodness.
Birthdays are an opportunity to reflect on where you are at and this week my beautiful bride is celebrating hers...55 is the year of double grace! Its's been a solid year of lots of faith steps and it's so amazing to look back and see all that God has brought us through - Jehovah Jireh, the God who sees to it!
We have some Black Knot fungus on one of our trees, and if you don't know what that is...it's not good. Today, we are talking about the fungus that grows in relationships and how it becomes worse when we don't deal with it. Can anyone relate?
There are so many voices right now that are telling us what to do and how to think. And if we don't agree, we are labelled and silenced. But how do we have hard conversations and sharpen one another when we are afraid of offending one another. Agreement isn't the goal, love is. Let's have hard conversations that are rooted in love.
What is unity? And, how do we keep our "love on" in the midst of disagreement?
We are posturing our hearts in the Lord as we process through the realities of age-ing and being our most authentic selves to the division that's happening in the world and in our family!
After what seemed like a "test run"....we're back. Thank you for all your feedback, it was so encouraging. We read each and every one! Today we talk about some of our struggles in re-marriage. And the beautiful refinement that comes through hard things. More to come..
We have been talking about doing a podcast for a very looooong time now. And, it turns out she's an awesome co-host. So this is us...unfiltered, and un-edited. We are keeping it real, and we would love your feedback!! Should this be a weekly thing? Every other week? Or, once in a blue moon? We choose to talk about my recent post about faith from Tim Keller, but what topics do you want us to talk about? Let us know. We hope you enjoy it!
