What drives someone to bike 631 miles across Idaho for charity, swim five miles through frigid waters with their 70-year-old grandmother, or keep pursuing extreme physical challenges after surviving a rocket attack in Syria? Meet Melisa Creek, an ultra-endurance athlete and military veteran whose extraordinary journey blends adventure with purpose. In this raw, captivating conversation, Melisa takes us from the grueling slopes of Mount St. Helens to the treacherous Aasgard Pass in the Enchantments, sharing what motivates her to constantly push beyond perceived limitations."I love feeling kind of beat down," she admits with surprising candor. "I love that feeling of doing something I didn't know if I was capable of doing." This philosophy has guided Melisa through remarkable feats, including a cross-state bicycle journey just weeks before deployment and swimming Wallowa Lake in 52-degree water only three months after giving birth.Beyond the physical challenges, Melisa offers a powerful perspective on resilience after trauma. Her experience surviving an Iranian rocket attack while deployed fundamentally changed her relationship with everyday stress: "Being at work during a rush—I feel like I'm able to keep my composure because we're not getting blown up. It's just coffee."Throughout our conversation, Melisa reveals how these extreme pursuits have evolved from potential escape mechanisms in her youth to becoming deliberate choices for personal growth and self-discovery. With future goals including qualifying for the prestigious Western States ultramarathon and climbing Mount Rainier, her story reminds us that the human spirit thrives not in comfort, but in challenge.Whether you're an aspiring athlete, outdoor enthusiast, or simply someone seeking inspiration to push beyond your own boundaries, Melisa's journey demonstrates how facing our limits—both physical and mental—can lead to profound transformation and unexpected joy.Shoutout to :Melisa Creek Jose Garcia Ag-Gear Store https://www.aggearstore.com/Use Code: Milesmountains For 15% Off Alter Ego Ambassador: https://alteregorunning.com/Miles & Mountains Promo Code: Milesmountainsyr3Raising Awareness:Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW)Mental Health Send us a text

What does it look like to practice Christianity in a country where the government controls religious expression? Jolie, a Chinese Christian, takes us behind the scenes of faith life in modern China, revealing a fascinating world where state churches require government-approved sermons and where house churches operate in a delicate balance with authorities.Raised in China and introduced to Christianity at age eight, Jolie initially viewed God as "almost like a genie" - someone to pray to only when she needed something. It wasn't until facing major life disappointments and a near-death experience that her faith transformed into a genuine relationship with Christ. Her journey eventually led her to Wisconsin Lutheran College in America before returning to her homeland with a deeper understanding of biblical teaching.Jolie offers rare insights into how Chinese Christians navigate cultural pressures in a society obsessed with worldly success. She explains her countercultural decision to stay home with her children in a country where career advancement is paramount and where even having more than one child - despite the relaxation of the one-child policy in 2016 - remains uncommon. "They've developed this culture where both grandparents take care of this one grandchild, and then the parents will be working," she explains. "A lot of my other friends feel like even one child is too much because they want to make sure they have enough time and energy for their career."The conversation explores fascinating aspects of Chinese culture, from the challenges of eldercare in a society with strong filial piety values to the unexpected ways Christianity persists and even thrives under restrictions. For anyone interested in global Christianity, family dynamics in different cultures, or the resilience of faith under challenging circumstances, this episode provides thoughtful perspective on how believers maintain their convictions while navigating complex cultural and political realities.Have questions about faith, family, or other life challenges? 147. A Repeat of Episode 43: Cashaye Barrera—An Episode Worth Hearing Again! Sometimes life throws us a curve ball when we least expect it, and it changes the trajectory of the path we were on. That's what happened this week when a guest who was scheduled to record with me had some unexpected events thwart our scheduled appointment and we weren't able to record. So, I made the decision to do something I have yet to do on this podcast, and that is to repeat a past episode. It didn't take me anytime at all to decide which one: you are about to hear Episode 43 again: my adopted daughter, Cashaye Barrera. Cashaye's extreme courage and strength in telling her survivor story is evident and powerful, and I'm honored to be able to have you listen to this again. Please take the time to not only listen to this repeat episode, but also to re-read the notes I wrote for Episode 43: This week, I made a special request to my daughter, Cashaye Barrera, to be a guest with me on this show. I was pretty sure she would agree to do this…and she did. My confidence in her response was due in part to me knowing how passionate she is about getting justice for herself…in every legal, non-violent way possible. And because I know what a tenacious and strong personality she is when she's fighting for herself and for those she loves and cares for…like, her family. But mostly because she is passionate about helping others. Especially others that are suffering in ways she can relate to…like other victims and survivors of rape and sexual assault. Cashaye's sexual assault case wasn't taken seriously when it was reported to law enforcement. Even though she was able to present physical evidence that she was raped, the agency handling the case, along with the prosecutor's office, was much more interested in giving the benefit of the doubt to the suspect than to Cashaye; to believe his untruthful explanation for the existence of his semen on Cashaye's clothing, rather than her report of incestuous and forceful rape. This is, for the most part, across most of this country, sadly, standard operating procedure. Part of this standard, this common response among law enforcement and prosecutors, is the systemic disbelief of victims. And another huge component to the problem is blaming the victim. And while Cashaye is one of the fortunate ones that did not end up being arrested herself for false reporting, she was certainly not believed, and was told by law enforcement that she should listen to and obey the very person that raped her, and that person's wife who knew the sexual assault was occurring, who were Cashaye's foster parents. Why is this process of disbelief, blaming, shaming, of victims, and the closure of rape and sexual assault cases without the perpetrators of these crimes being so much as confrontationally questioned about the report, let alone thoroughly investigated, so rampant, so systemic? Because…it's easier to not believe reports of sexual assault and rape than it is to believe these reports. It's easier because our human brains don't like to face the malevolence, the discomfort, the taboo, the ugliness, the messiness, the vulgarness…of rape. And because some men and women who investigate rape and sexual assault cases don't like the idea that what they do, sexually, in their own personal sex lives, could very well be construed as rape or sexual assault. It's easier to disbelieve victims; to blame victims; to shame victims, and to get them to recant their report. If you don't believe me, watch the independent film, Victim/Suspect, streaming on Netflix. Then read Cry Rape: The True Story of One Woman's Quest for Justice, by Bill Lueders. Then read Missoula: Rape and the Justice System in a College Town. And read Know My Name, by Chanel Miller Then read Dr. David Lisak's research on The Undetected Rapist. Then watch The Invisible War documentary about the prevalence of rape in the military by Kirby Dick, Amy Ziering, and Tanner King Barklow. Things need to change…big time. Part 1 Girls & Sex by Peggy Orenstein Summary"Girls & Sex: Navigating the Complicated New Landscape" by Peggy Orenstein explores the sexual experiences and challenges faced by contemporary adolescent girls. Through interviews and research, Orenstein delves into how today's culture influences young women's understanding of sex, relationships, and their own identities. Here are some key points from the book:Cultural Shifts: The book highlights the changes in societal norms surrounding female sexuality, particularly in the wake of technology and social media. Orenstein notes that these shifts can lead to mixed messages about sex, often emphasizing sexual availability while undermining genuine intimacy.Pressure and Expectations: Orenstein discusses the pressure girls face to conform to sexual norms, which can include engaging in sexual activities as a means of gaining acceptance or validation. This pressure is compounded by societal expectations and the influence of pornography.Consent and Communication: A significant theme throughout the book is the importance of consent and clear communication in relationships. Orenstein advocates for better education surrounding these topics, empowering girls to understand and assert their own boundaries.Emotional Complexities: The emotional aspects of young women's sexual experiences are thoroughly examined. Orenstein illustrates how many girls struggle with feelings of shame, anxiety, and confusion regarding their sexual identities and experiences.Impact of Technology: The role of technology, including social media and texting, is a central focus. Orenstein discusses both the opportunities for connection it provides and the potential pitfalls, such as cyberbullying and the pressure to engage in sexual behavior prematurely.Intersectionality: Orenstein also acknowledges that experiences of race, class, and sexual orientation can deeply affect how girls navigate their sexual lives, making it essential to approach these topics with a comprehensive understanding.Hopeful Solutions: Finally, the book concludes with a call for action, emphasizing the need for open conversations about sex, better educational resources, and supportive environments where girls can feel safe to express their desires and concerns.Overall, "Girls & Sex" provides a nuanced portrayal of the complex realities facing modern girls, urging society to foster environments that prioritize their well-being and promote healthier understandings of sexuality.Part 2 Girls & Sex AuthorPeggy Orenstein is an American author and speaker, well-known for her works that explore gender, sexuality, and culture, particularly as they relate to young women. Content warning: this conversation deals with sexual assault and rape.E. Jean Carroll's “Not My Type: One Woman vs. a President” is an unfiltered memoir chronicling her two high-stakes civil trials against Donald Trump, first for sexual abuse in 2023 and then defamation in 2024, culminating in over $100 million awarded against him.Carroll shares everything from trial strategy and wardrobe choices to psychiatric evaluations and courtroom drama. Send us a textWhat does it mean to be "sober curious" in a culture where drinking is the default social activity? In this raw and revealing conversation, Jacquelynn starts with a deeply personal confession about her own struggles with alcohol, sharing recent setbacks despite her previous confidence in having overcome her unhealthy relationship with drinking.Leanna, a self-described "retired party girl turned event planner and blogger," joins the conversation and unpacks the nuanced territory between traditional alcoholism and casual drinking. Having spent years binge drinking three to five nights a week to the point of blackout, her journey toward sobriety offers profound insights for anyone questioning their relationship with alcohol. The discussion takes unexpected turns as both women share vulnerable stories about identity, friendship loss, and those painful moments when alcohol turned them into people they didn't recognize. "I like to say that now I'm making memories instead of losing them," Leanna reflects, capturing the essence of what sobriety offers beyond just abstinence.Beyond the emotional and social aspects, they explore the physical impacts of alcohol—how it disrupts sleep rather than improving it, increases anxiety despite temporarily relieving it, and takes a toll on overall health. For those who've built their social lives and identities around being "the life of the party," the fear of who they'll become without alcohol is real and daunting.Whether you're firmly committed to sobriety, simply "sober curious," or just intrigued by the growing movement challenging alcohol's central role in society, this conversation offers compassionate wisdom without judgment. The message resonates clearly: your relationship with alcohol doesn't define you, and exploring life without it might reveal a more authentic, energized version of yourself you never knew existed. How might your social life, health, and self-understanding transform if you questioned your relationship with alcohol? About Katharine Barnwell: How One Woman Revolutionized Modern MissionsWhat if Mother Teresa or Billy Graham lived and worked — and nobody knew their names? What if one of the church's most influential missionaries went almost unnoticed?Meet Katharine (Katy) Barnwell. Within Bible translation, she's a legend. Outside of Bible translation, few have heard of her. But not even Billy Graham holds a candle to what God did through Katy. From hiding as a child from Nazi bombing raids, fleeing civil wars, and remaining calm under terrorist attacks and armed gunmen, to utterly revolutionizing every field she touched, Barnwell's life proves there is no need to treat the missionary hall of fame as if its ranks are closed. On the contrary, her kingdom labor reveals that God is still in the business of raising up contemporary “greats” who are willing to face danger, go the distance, lift up God's Word in unprecedented ways, and see the lost turn to Christ in droves. In fact, there may be no “great” in all of church history who matches Barnwell's level of influence. All around the world, hundreds of millions of new believers read and hear Scripture in their own language because of Barnwell's work, books, and language training. By some estimates, about 3,000 completed or in-process Bible translations swim directly downstream of her work. Since she rebuilt The Jesus Film Project's methods, more than 300 million viewers around the world have become followers of Jesus. Given such accomplishments, one might expect Barnwell to be arrogant or aloof, and yet those who know her best report sweet surprise at how warm, endearing, patient, and feisty she is.Her African colleagues call her Mama Katy, and such a name is fitting. She is truly the mother of modern Bible translation and the mother of twenty-first-century missions.Purchase a copy of Katharine Barnwell: How One Woman Revolutionized Modern Missions here.Connect with Jordan Monsonwebsite | X | SubstackJordan Monson is the Professor of Missions and Old Testament at Huntington University and the Director of the Center for Faith Integration and Vocation at Huntington University. She shares how she went from launching a real estate marketing firm to transforming blighted buildings into vibrant mixed-use housing communities that integrate people with autism, seniors, and the broader public. We discuss the heartbreak of being told to institutionalize her son, the grit it took to build new systems from scratch, and the vision behind a new marketplace for housing and community that includes everyone. This is not a story of one big moment. It's about years of internal conflict, emotional detachment, financial planning, and facing the truth that love alone wasn't going to fix it.She shares what it felt like to carry the weight of the home, raise children in chaos, and slowly lose pieces of herself while hoping things would change. When nothing did, she stopped hoping and started preparing. This conversation is a powerful reminder that even when it looks fine on the outside, there can be a storm raging within. If you're stuck in the cycle of waiting, wondering, or trying to convince yourself it's not that bad, this one is for you.Support the showFind video clips and full length video from this episode on YouTube and our other social media pages! On the web:www.twfo.comOnline Course: www.independentlystrong.comUse code WHEELIES75 for 75% off the entire course!Soberlink Device:www.soberlink.com/wheelsCheck out our blog:https://twfo.com/blogFollow us on TikTok:https://tiktok.com/@twfo_coupleFollow us on Instagram:https://instagram.com/twfo_couple/Follow us on Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/TWFOCoupleFollow us on YouTube:https://www.youtube.com/@twfo_coupleFind Taylor Counseling Group:https://taylorcounselinggroup.com/Donate to Counseling for the Future Foundation:Donate Here

Send us a textWhat happens when a "national prophet" discovers she's been living a lie? In this powerful testimony, Dawn Hill shares her shocking 18-year journey inside the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) movement - from seeking God to being recognized as a prophet and featured in Charisma Magazine, and finally to her dramatic escape from spiritual abuse.Dawn's story isn't just another "I left my church" testimony. She was deeply embedded in the NAR world, serving, writing prophetic blogs, and even being considered for Bible study projects with the controversial Passion Translation. Her insider perspective reveals the dangerous control tactics, twisted theology, and manipulative "honor culture" that keeps people trapped in these movements. The turning point came during a service in February 2019 when her "apostle" misquoted Jesus. That moment of biblical clarity began Dawn's painful but necessary journey to freedom. In this episode, we explore:The difference between apostles and "Apostles"How Word of Faith theology preys on biblical illiteracyThe dangerous "honor culture" that silences dissentWarning signs of spiritual abuse in charismatic churchesHow God's Word itself became the tool of Dawn's liberationThe courage it takes to leave everything you've knownWhether you're in a similar situation, know someone who is, or simply want to understand these movements better, Dawn's story offers both warning and hope. What if one woman's healing could create a ripple that reaches girls around the world?22 years ago, I discovered the work of Louise Hay — and it completely transformed my life. Her teachings on self-love, affirmations, and the power of our inner dialogue became the foundation for how I live, lead, and serve. In today's episode, I'm sharing how Louise's work became the catalyst for everything I do — from creating my first girls empowerment workshops, to founding the GiRLiFE Academy, where I now support women in becoming girls' empowerment leaders in their own communities. And before Louise passed, I had the honor of meeting her — and sharing how her words have impacted hundreds of girls through the work I've passed forward. It was one of the most meaningful moments of my life — a full-circle reminder that our healing isn't just for us. It becomes a gift we pass on.If you're curious about empowering the next generation, or if you've ever dreamed of leading purpose-driven work that lights you up, this episode will speak to your soul.✨ And if you're feeling called to this mission...I'll be opening a pop-up enrollment for the GiRLiFE Academy very soon — but it's only for those on the waitlist. This is a private, limited-time opportunity to step into girls empowerment coaching and start building a business that changes lives — including your own.

Send us a textWhat would you do if you came face-to-face with a mountain lion in the darkness of a pre-dawn hike? For Kayla Girard, this heart-stopping encounter was just one chapter in her remarkable outdoor journey that's taken her from struggling to run a single mile to summiting some of Colorado's most challenging peaks. In this captivating conversation, Kayla reveals how she discovered her love for running later in life when she realized the secret was simply slowing down. This breakthrough has led her to complete races in 37 states so far on her quest to run a half or full marathon in all 50 states. Surprisingly, during back-to-back race weekends, she consistently performs better on day two—defying conventional wisdom about recovery and endurance. But it's Kayla's mountaineering adventures that truly showcase her resilience and determination. After moving to Colorado to become a ski instructor (where she unexpectedly met her husband), she fell in love with climbing the state's famous "14ers"—58 peaks exceeding 14,000 feet in elevation. These climbs require 4am starts, careful navigation, and constant vigilance against rapidly changing mountain weather and wildlife encounters. The podcast delivers two unforgettable survival stories: Kayla's terrifying standoff with a stalking mountain lion during her bachelorette celebration hike, and a harrowing night spent taking shelter in a mountainside cave after a snowstorm trapped her group in 12-degree temperatures. Her most valuable lesson? When you're in trouble in the backcountry, help doesn't arrive immediately—her rescue took over seven hours despite having cell service.Whether you're a runner looking for inspiration or simply someone who appreciates tales of adventure and human endurance, Kayla's journey shows how pushing beyond your comfort zone creates not just accomplishments but also profound connections with fellow adventurers who share these life-changing experiences. #166 - What happens when your adventurous spirit collides with a life-changing diagnosis? Meet Brooke King, a fearless 29-year-old who refuses to let thyroid cancer dim her extraordinary approach to life.Brooke's story begins in Chicago, where she lived a successful but predictable life as a young homeowner. When COVID hit, something shifted - that innate desire for adventure could no longer be contained. She sold her house and embraced alternative living - from boats to school buses - launching herself into experiences most would never dare attempt. Hitchhiking on the "Desert Snake" (the world's deadliest train) through the Sahara Desert? Check. Tracking down a floating grocery store yacht in Turkey? Absolutely. Dog attack training? Why not? Then came the unexpected plot twist - a thyroid cancer diagnosis that might have derailed someone with less resilience. But for Brooke, this became another adventure to navigate with the same determination that helped her travel solo through remote parts of Africa. "I didn't want to just heal from cancer and get through it," she explains. "I wanted to rise above it."Now, Brooke is channeling her energy into training for a 72-hour rowing expedition across the Mediterranean from Barcelona to Ibiza. What was already on her bucket list has transformed into "Row to Remission" - a powerful statement of hope and a fundraiser for cancer research. She'll row alongside three other women, including a former Olympian, taking two-hour shifts around the clock with minimal sleep.Brooke's philosophy about adventure is refreshingly accessible: "Adventure is intentionally trying something new." It doesn't require traveling to exotic locations or extreme sports - it simply means choosing growth and new experiences for their own sake. Through her story, she reminds us that our greatest adventures often arrive disguised as our greatest challenges.Follow Brooke's journey on Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok @brookesjoyrides or visit brookesjoyrides.com to support her cancer fundraising efforts. Solo Travel Adventures: Safe Travel for Women, Preparing for a Trip, Overcoming Fear, Travel Tips
What drives a woman to sell everything she owns, travel halfway around the world, and jump on yachts with complete strangers? For Tess Millhollon, author and founder of Her House, it was the desperate need to reclaim her sense of self after surviving sexual assault in college.Tess shares her remarkable journey of healing through solo travel in Australia, where she discovered that recreating her comfortable bartending life from Texas wasn't enough. The pivotal moment came when she spotted a hostel job board posting: "yacht crew wanted, no experience necessary." This spontaneous decision led to her learning to sail and "yacht hopping" up the Australian coastline—what she humorously calls "extreme hitchhiking"—creating the adventure of a lifetime.Throughout her seven-month journey, Tess encountered what she calls "persons of peace"—strangers who became divine connections offering safety and community when she needed it most. One particularly meaningful encounter with a woman at an airport who later connected her with hosts became the inspiration for Her House, her current venture connecting solo women travelers for safe accommodations worldwide. The conversation delves into the emotional challenges of long-term solo travel, including homesickness and the importance of bringing small comfort items like fuzzy socks or a familiar pillowcase. Tess beautifully articulates how solo travel teaches you to trust your intuition—knowing when to push forward and when a journey should end. "No one had done what I'd done, no one had felt what I felt...like I had me," she explains, highlighting how self-reliance during travel transfers powerfully to everyday life. For women considering solo adventures, Tess recommends establishing connections in your destination before arriving—exactly what Her House facilitates through its community of background-checked members spanning all generations. Whether you're in your twenties like Tess was or a retiree seeking new experiences, this growing network offers both safety and authentic cultural immersion.Ready to find your own healing journey? What happens when a lifetime of political loyalty no longer feels like enough? Deborah Burgess, scholar and education leader, takes us on a deeply personal journey from dedicated Democrat to politically unaffiliated voter during one of America's most turbulent political eras. The decision didn't come easily. After returning from six years in China where she helped build educational opportunities for children with disabilities, Deborah committed herself to Democratic Party activism. She worked tirelessly as a volunteer, house district captain, and eventually secretary, believing in the power of civic engagement. But something changed after watching how Democrats responded—or failed to respond—to aggressive political tactics from the right."Democrats are too quiet," Deborah explains with characteristic frankness. "They sit back and let stuff fly." Drawing on her background as a judo champion, she compares the current political climate to a match where "Democrats are getting choked and they're not fighting." This observation comes from someone who's seen the political landscape from multiple angles and continents. Our conversation explores the realities of voter suppression targeting Black and Brown communities, the alarming parallels between America's current situation and Hungary under Viktor Orbán, and the rise of Christian nationalism. We discuss how traditional Democratic messaging fails to resonate with younger generations and the importance of staying politically engaged even when party affiliation no longer feels right.Deborah offers practical action items for concerned citizens: familiarize yourself with the Constitution, diversify your information sources, watch corporate media critically, and engage at the local level. Most importantly, she urges listeners to think independently and draw their own conclusions rather than accepting singular narratives.Ready to rethink what political engagement means in today's America? Wendy Fisher was once one of the fastest women on skis. A U.S. Ski Team racer and 1992 Olympian, she seemed destined for a long career in elite competition. But by her early 20s, she was burned out, struggling with identity and disordered eating, and quietly unraveling inside a system that prized performance over well-being.This could've been the end of her story. Instead, it became the beginning of a much more human one.In this episode, Wendy shares how she walked away from ski racing and found her way into big-mountain freeskiing—becoming one of the sport's pioneering women and starring in iconic ski films like Ski Movie and Global Storming by Matchstick Productions. We talk about her second act in life, how she stayed connected to movement and self-expression, and what she's learned about letting go, showing up, and staying curious in her 50s.Whether you're a lifelong athlete or just trying to stay grounded and active as you age, this episode offers perspective, honesty, and a few good powder-day metaphors.

"He put me here to take care of them. This is what He wants me to do." These words capture the essence of Joann Gromowski's profound caregiving journey spanning nearly two decades as she cared for her father, aunt, and mother through various stages of illness and decline. What does it truly mean to become a caregiver for aging parents? In this deeply moving conversation, Joann shares the raw realities of her experiences, from the practical challenges of managing dementia to the spiritual strength that sustained her through countless sleepless nights. Her story reveals how each caregiving situation demanded different approaches—her father with his heart condition, her aunt with multiple health issues including cancer and diabetes, and finally her mother with Alzheimer's.The most illuminating insights come from Joann's hard-won wisdom about dementia care. Unlike children who build knowledge progressively, those with dementia lose capabilities in reverse. "You have to meet them where they're at and become part of their reality," she explains, rather than frustrating both yourself and your loved one by insisting on what used to be true. This profound shift in perspective transforms caregiving from a battle into an act of compassion.Joann doesn't shy away from discussing the practical aspects either—the importance of having proper legal documents in place before they're needed, knowing where to find resources, and her number one regret: not asking for help sooner. For those currently navigating the caregiving journey or those who see it on their horizon, her advice serves as both comfort and practical guide.Beyond the practical, this conversation explores how caregiving shapes us as people. Joann reflects on how God's purpose became clear through her service to family, even though she—a busy attorney with her own practice—was perhaps the least likely sibling to take on this role. The experience revealed strengths she didn't know she possessed and deepened her faith in profound ways. What's your caregiving story? Whether you're currently supporting a loved one or preparing for that possibility, this episode offers both practical guidance and spiritual encouragement for one of life's most challenging yet meaningful journeys.SHOW NOTES:CLR's website has a collection of articles on dementia and Alzheimer's disease here: https://christianliferesources.com/medical-concerns/dementia-alzheimers-disease/CLR also has a carefully curated Pro-Life 101 section on caregiving here: https://christianliferesources.com/caregiving/Find strength and courage in your faith at this year's FEARLESS FAITH Conference. Kara Seymour was deeply entrenched in the New Age movement, she was a Kundalini yogi, and was thoroughly convinced that Christians were judgmental, boring, and brainwashed. So she was as surprised as anyone when she met a group of Christian women who became her new best friends. I can't wait for you to hear her amazing story of transformation, the judgment she felt outside and inside the Church, and how her relationship with Jesus has changed her life. We're kicking off our Judgy Girl series, where we're looking at stories of judgment and mercy from the Bible and how to live like it's true that our God is a merciful Judge. I'm weaving in some thoughts about several Bible stories of mercy into my conversation with Kara. She shares how investing in financial education helped her pay off $50,000 in debt in six months, build emergency savings, and teach her children what she was never taught: how to talk about — and take control of — their money. To learn more about BudgetDog, click here and say you were referred by Elizabeth!
