H.W. Brands describes how, by the summer of 1939, the destruction of Poland by German and Soviet forces confirmed that war was imminent, prompting Roosevelt to invoke neutrality laws as required by Congress. Despite his desire for privacy, Lindbergh began using his celebrity status to secure national radio airtime, feeling a duty to prevent Americafrom repeating what he viewed as the "mistake" of the First World War. His father, a former congressman, had been driven out of politics for opposing American intervention in 1917, a legacy that instilled in Lindbergh a profound distrust of politics as a "mean business" where truth was rare. Lindbergh argued that Britain and France were launching a war they could not win and would eventually force the United States into a permanent presence in Europe. During this period, he consulted with figures like Herbert Hoover, who suggested forming a committee that would eventually become "America First," and visited the "House of Morgan" through his wife's family connections. British observers, such as Harold Nicolson, were less impressed, dismissing Lindbergh as a "schoolboy" who possessed technical talent but lacked a mature understanding of diplomacy and the complexities of governing a great empire. Lindbergh remained unfazed by British criticism, asserting that he was an American and that his country's interests were distinct from those of the British Empire. (2)1936

What if the way you've been approaching your sexuality has been keeping you stuck? In this second episode of a three-part series on befriending your sexuality, I explain why most strategies fail and how a shame-based internal operating system filters your experiences, preventing meaningful change. I share why treating sexual urges like something to eliminate or control keeps you trapped, and how recognizing and working with your sexuality instead of against it is essential. We explore the difference between shame and guilt, why a worthy-based operating system transforms how you show up in life, and how understanding these dynamics can change your relationship with yourself and others. You'll learn why a shame-based operating system keeps you striving without satisfaction, how guilt and shame affect your choices and behaviors, and how a new live program can guide you to apply these principles step by step to build a healthier, more empowered relationship with your sexuality. Are Lead Aprons Still Required for Dental X-Rays? | Tooth or Dare Podcast with @Toothlife.Irene

Breaking Down The Truth Behind the 1999 vs. 2022 Radiation Guidelines In this episode of the Tooth or Dare Podcast, Irene and Victoria tackle one of the most misunderstood topics in dentistry today: radiation protection guidelines and the confusion surrounding lead aprons. You've probably heard the statement: "Lead aprons are no longer required." But what does that actually mean? With the transition from the 1999 radiation protection guidelines to the updated 2022 recommendations, many dental professionals, especially in Ontario, Canada, have been left trying to determine what has changed, what hasn't, and how these recommendations should be applied in clinical practice. Because this conversation isn't about removing protection. It's about understanding protection. In This Episode We Discuss: The key differences between the 1999 and 2022 radiation protection guidelines Why the phrase "not required" is often misunderstood The anatomy of a lead apron: apron vs. thyroid collar When patient shielding may still be appropriate What defines an elective radiograph Why radiographs should only be prescribed when there is a clear indication or risk factor How digital imaging and handheld X-ray devices have changed the landscape The importance of critical thinking when applying updated guidelines Clinical & Real-World Insights How advances in digital radiography have influenced modern safety recommendations Increased specificity in the 2022 guidelines regarding equipment handling, storage, inspection, and damage protocols Real-world examples of responding to equipment alerts and quality concerns The growing emphasis on quality assurance and documentation Why "not required" does not mean "never use" How misinterpretation of guidelines can directly impact patient care Key Takeaway At the end of the day, using protection appropriately based on evidence, clinical judgment, and patient-specific factors. Guidelines evolve, but our clinical judgement and patient needs need to be considered.  The standard of care remains. A simple framework to remember: Assess Risk → Justify Exposure → Optimize Protection Because radiographs are not routine and ought to be prescribed with purpose and reason Resources & References Canadian Resources CDA Position Statement for the Control of X-Radiation in Dentistry https://www.cda-adc.ca/en/about/position_statements/xray/ RCDSO X-Ray Safety Requirements for All Ontario Dentists https://www.rcdso.org/en-ca/standards-guidelines-resources/rcdso-news/articles/1393 Health Canada – Radiation Protection in Dentistry (Safety Code 30, 2022) https://www.canada.ca/en/health-canada/services/environmental-workplace-health/reports-publications/radiation/radiation-protection-dentistry-recommended-safety-procedures-use-dental-equipment-safety-code-30.html Healing Arts Radiation Protection Act (HARP) – Ontario https://www.ontario.ca/laws/statute/90h02 HARP Certification Course (George Brown College) https://coned.georgebrown.ca/courses-and-programs/dental-radiography-harp-approved-certification Federation of Dental Hygiene Regulators of Canada – Scope of Practice https://www.fdhrc.ca/pages/dental-hygiene-in-canada/the-profession/ CDHO Update on Scope of Practice for Dental Hygienists in Ontario https://cdho.org/update-on-scope-of-practice/ International Resources ADA Releases Updated Recommendations to Enhance Radiography Safety in Dentistry https://www.ada.org/about/press-releases/ada-releases-updated-recommendations-to-enhance-radiography-safety-in-dentistry ADA & AAOMR Patient Selection for Dental Radiography and Cone-Beam Computed Tomography https://jada.ada.org/action/showPdf?pii=S0002-8177%2825%2900631-2 AAPD Guidelines for Prescribing Dental Radiographs for Infants, Children, Adolescents, and Individuals with Special Health Care Needs https://www.aapd.org/media/policies_guidelines/bp_radiographs.pdf Standards for Licensing Dental Hygienists and Dental Assistants in Dental Radiography (US) https://codes.findlaw.com/cfr/title-42-public-health/cfr-pt-42-75-app-g/ Additional Resources Toothlife X-Radiation Downloadable Resource https://www.toothlife.ca/products/x-ray-radiation-resource Designs for Vision Loupes https://www.designsforvision.com/DentHtml/HygDes.htm

Thistle Resources Inc. CEO Patrick Cruikshank joined Steve Darling from Proactive to discuss new drill results from the company's Middle River Gold Project in New Brunswick's Bathurst Mining Camp. The company reported certified assay results from drill hole 21TRC-AU007, which returned 1.65 g/t gold over 20.71 metres, including a higher-grade interval of 3.36 g/t gold over 7.82 metres. The hole was drilled in the northeastern extension of the mineralized fold trend and reached a depth of 74 metres. Cruikshank said drilling completed to date has identified a continuous mineralized zone extending from surface to approximately 130 metres depth. Results from two drill programs have consistently returned broad, high-grade gold intersections, supporting both the grade and continuity of the deposit. The company also noted that geophysical work conducted by EarthEx Geoscience Solutions and Abitibi Geophysics has identified more than 50 high-priority drill target centres along the seven-kilometre mineralized trend, representing hundreds of potential drill locations. Required permits are already in place for future exploration. Thistle's long-term objective is to define more than 2 million ounces of gold across the Middle River trend. The planned 2026 drilling campaign will focus on expanding the known mineralized footprint while testing deeper high-chargeability targets identified through geophysical surveys. Management believes the combination of encouraging drill results, extensive exploration targets, and a large-scale mineralized system provides significant potential for future resource growth at Middle River. Beyond Middle River, Thistle is preparing to advance exploration at its Brunswick Antimony project, where upcoming drone surveys and trenching programs are planned to evaluate high-grade antimony mineralisation alongside gold and silver potential. #proactiveinvestors #thistleressources #tsxv #trcg #MiningIssuer #PublicMarkets #GoldExploration #MiddleRiver #GoldMining #MiningNews #NewBrunswickMining #ResourceExpansion #ExplorationDrilling #GoldStocks #MiningInvestment

Dry July, No Drama: Daily Tips for a Take It or Leave It Relationship With Alcohol EPISODE 9: How to Finally Commit to a Break from Alcohol - No Willpower Required - Dry July, No Drama There is an Afrikaans word - soutpiel - which literally translates to salt willy. It describes someone with a foot in two places, not fully committed to either. One foot in South Africa, one foot in Britain - leaving their willy in the ocean. Trying not to get banned on IG. It is a long-winded but perfectly apt description of trying to cut back on drinking without making a firm decision. A maybe is always a yes. As Yoda says - there is no try, just do. Trying, by its very nature, holds failure in its raison d'etre. Try and stand up right now. You can't - you either stand up or you don't. A decision does something completely different: It gets you out of willpower and into choice It frees your brain up for more interesting things to hyper-focus on It stops the exhausting daily negotiation with yourself about whether you are going to drink tonight If you are struggling to make the decision to take a sober curious break, sit with this question: What is not making that decision keeping me safe from experiencing? I would love to hear your answer. Glucose is one of many sugars. It is an essential nutrient for both horses and people. When talking about sugar in food, you might hear words like carbs, starch, fructose, lactose, saccharide, or others. But for now, let's just focus on glucose. Without it, our horses—and we—cannot survive. Yet glucose damages everything it touches inside the body! It is so harmful that the phrase "glucose disposal" is often used to describe how the body protects itself from glucose. Insulin helps the body remove glucose. Without insulin, glucose levels rise in the bloodstream, harming whatever they come into contact with. To control blood glucose levels, cells respond to insulin. When a cell takes in as much glucose as it can, it stops responding to insulin. This is normal and needed for the complex process to work. If insulin resistance happens every day, why is it a problem when your horse has it? That's what this podcast is about. I'll explain how the body uses glucose, how it protects itself, and when insulin resistance becomes a real issue.

There's the faith of salvation and then there's the faith of daily life (two sides of the same coin). In this conversational episode Mark and I work through what it means to live by faith in our regular lives. For starters, Christian faith is submitting to the Lordship of Christ and his revelation, word, value system, and kingdom. Flowing out of that, faith means living toward something, or better toward someone. Along the way we rule out different things that Christian faith is not, those against common cultural and Christian sub-cultural assumptions. Just one of those "faith is nots" is pure subjective experience; faith is not reducible to a burning in a bosom. How? Why? What are both the objective and subjective elements of Christian faith? And then, do we balance or integrate the objective and subjective elements? Come and think about the Christian life with us in ways that run sometimes contrary to common assumptions.

Summary In part 1 Wade Borth and Rohit Punyani, founder of The Owner's Asset, explore how small business owners can use a cash balance plan to capture six-figure tax deductions while building a seven-figure guaranteed retirement. Rohit walks through the two schools of retirement thought, the mechanics of a pension compared to a 401(k), and the compelling opportunity to purchase whole life insurance inside a pension using pre-tax dollars. If you have been writing painful tax checks without a clear strategy, this conversation shows you where that money could go instead. Check part 1 of this conversation in here We continue this episode in part 2, as most business owners know they should be saving for retirement. What they don't know is how much the tax code has stacked the deck in their favor. In this episode, Wade and Rohit Punyani of The Owner's Asset dig into who a cash balance plan actually works for, why older business owners have the biggest advantage, and how to run a pension and a 401(k) together for maximum effect.  Rohit also breaks down one of the most underused strategies in retirement planning: depositing required minimum distributions into a seasoned whole life policy to convert taxable income into accessible, non-taxable cash flow. If your business has been funding the IRS instead of your future, this conversation is for you. Part 3 ends up with Wade and Rohit, going deep in conversation to explore a strategy most advisors never mention. Together they walk through how sequence, guaranteed income, and a pension structure can reduce tax bills, fund whole life insurance at wholesale, and build a retirement income that removes the scarcity mindset. The conversation ties IBC, annuities, and pension design into a single framework built around clarity, perspective, and guidance.  Check part 3 of this conversation in here Key Takeaways The ideal candidate: a stable business with consistent taxable income, quarterly estimated payments above $20,000 to $30,000 per quarter, and at least some active K-1, S-corp, or 1099 income. After age 52 or 53, the IRS tables allow deductions that can exceed your active income. A 60-year-old with $100,000 in side income may be able to deduct $250,000. A pension and a 401(k) can and should coexist. The 401(k) stays in the market for growth. The pension funds your guaranteed safety-first income. The pension contribution is a top-line deduction. A $200,000 contribution on $1 million in revenue means the IRS taxes you on $800,000, and it can drop you into a lower marginal bracket. Required minimum distributions should never be spent directly. Depositing an RMD into a seasoned whole life policy and drawing on the policy's cash value can convert a $40,000 taxable distribution into $100,000 or more of accessible, non-taxable cash flow. Links and Resources sagewealthstrategy.com Part 1: Six Figures Off, Seven Figures Built   Keywords cash balance plan for business owners, who qualifies for a pension, K-1 income retirement, 1099 pension plan, self-employed retirement planning, age advantage cash balance plan, RMD strategy whole life insurance, infinite banking RMD, required minimum distributions whole life, pension and 401k together, business owner tax deduction, Wade Borth, Rohit Punyani, The Owner's Asset, Sage Wealth Strategy, solopreneur retirement, cash flow vs income IRS, top-line deduction, talent retention pension, small business pension plan Episode Highlights [00:04:35 - 00:05:46] Rohit defines the ideal candidate in human terms: a stable business writing quarterly estimated tax payments above $20,000 to $30,000 that could instead be flowing into a pension. [00:07:20 - 00:08:36] The age advantage: after 52 or 53, you can deduct more than your active income. A 60-year-old with $100,000 in side income can potentially deduct $250,000 and erase a tax bill entirely. [00:11:05 - 00:11:28] The 401(k) and pension should coexist. Stay in the markets with the 401(k). Use the pension to buy your safety-first guaranteed income. [00:13:48 - 00:14:53] Top-line deduction explained: a $200,000 contribution on $1,000,000 in revenue means the IRS taxes you on $800,000, and it can push you into a lower marginal tax bracket. [00:17:56 - 00:19:20] The catch-up concept: after years of building a business without contributing to retirement, a cash balance plan lets you redirect $200,000 to $300,000 a year and rebuild what was missed. [00:21:29 - 00:25:43] The RMD strategy: take a $40,000 distribution, deposit it into a seasoned whole life policy, use the policy's 3x to 4x release to pay taxes and keep the rest, turning $22,000 of after-tax income into $102,000 of cash flow.

Following Jesus was never meant to be comfortable — and Acts 14 makes that unmistakably clear. In this week's message from our "Welcomed." series, we see Paul and Barnabas face opposition, miracles, misunderstanding, and suffering, all while pressing forward with the gospel. The welcome of Jesus is a courageous welcome. It requires doctrinal courage — the kind of patient, persistent commitment to the good news that keeps showing up and speaking truth even when the response is slow or hostile. It requires courage to respond in faith, trusting the work of God not just in dramatic moments of healing but in every ordinary area of life. It requires the courage to walk humbly, resisting the pull toward pride and self-promotion that can subtly derail even the most sincere ministry. And it requires the courage to get back up — because the road of faithful witness will include setbacks, and the question is never whether we'll get knocked down, but whether we'll rise again. Jesus himself modeled this kind of dependent, courageous life, and through Him, we're invited to do the same. For more information about Integrity Church, visit our website, http://liveintegritychurch.orgConnect with us on social media throughout the week to stay up to date on events and things happening at Integrity!Instagram: @integrity_churchFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/liveintegrity/

In this message, Pastor Seth unpacks the power and necessity of biblical unity. Through Acts 2 and Psalm 133, he reveals that unity is not compromise or uniformity, but a spiritual oneness produced by the Holy Spirit and stewarded by God's people. This message confronts the dangers of discord, rebellion, and division while calling the Church into “one accord” with the Spirit of God. From marriage and ministry to worship and revival, Pastor Aaron shows that unity is required to carry the Presence of God, command His blessing, and walk in corporate anointing. If we want revival, we can't just pursue an experience. We must pursue unity.

Send us Fan MailChapter 4 of The Christian Past That Wasn't takes up the question of this episode. This episode cites the book and expands on it as well. In sum, I take the position that the experience of colonial and state governments are historically interesting but not directly relevant to our secular system of Constitutional government. What the framers did in the Constitutional Convention is what is relevant. In the book, I fact check claims about what the states required for office holders and I examine the ways different states handled church and state relationships. There was the Williams Way (Rhode Island and to some degree the mid-Atlantic states) and the Winthrop Way (Massachusetts and everybody else). This is not to say that America is a secular nation culturally speaking. If anything, the nation became more culturally Christian after the founders passed from the scene. One of the reasons the founding era was reframed as a Christian founding was due to the heavy influence of Christianity in the expanding nation. Produced, written, and hosted by Warren ThrockmortonSlippery Rock University history professor Aaron Cowan and Dartmouth College religion professor Randall Balmer make appearances in this episode. Music by Jonas Fair, Jeremiah Lawson, and Netop. Netop is the name for my instrumental music project. In this episode of the ProductLed Podcast, Wes Bush and Esben Friis-Jensen sit down with Roeland Delrue, CEO and co-founder of Aikido Security, to unpack how the company reached $40M+ ARR in just three and a half years in one of the most sales-heavy categories in software. Roeland shares how his team entered cybersecurity without a traditional security background, simply by living the problem themselves. After juggling eight different security tools and watching a security engineer quit from the sheer pain of triaging endless false positives, they decided to build the product they wished existed. The conversation digs into why Aikido took a radically product-led path in a market dominated by demos, gated trials, and opaque pricing. Roeland explains how transparent pricing, fast time-to-value, and a no-nonsense buying experience helped Aikido win trust with developers and security teams alike. They also get into the bigger growth story behind the business: why product-led motions scale so well, how compliance trends like SOC 2 create strong tailwinds, and why Aikido chose to build a multi-product platform from day one instead of another point solution. Toward the end, Roeland shares his view on AI in cybersecurity, where AI pen testing is already replacing human work, and where humans will still matter for a long time. It is a candid look at building a category-defining security company without following the usual playbook. Key Highlights: 01:46 - The Pain That Sparked Aikido How Roeland and his co-founders went from frustrated security-tool buyers to building their own solution. 04:40 - Why Cybersecurity Needed a PLG Rethink A sharp breakdown of why traditional sales-led security buying feels broken and expensive. 10:11 - Trust in Security Without Heavy Sales How Aikido built trust through product quality, compliance, transparency, and social proof. 15:24 - What Drove Aikido's Fast Growth Why self-serve foundations, fast setup, and faster time-to-value helped the company scale quickly. 18:06 - Compliance and AI Fueling Demand How SOC 2, ISO requirements, open source risk, and AI-driven software growth are expanding the market. 20:15 - Building a Security Platform Day One Why Aikido bet on an all-in-one platform instead of a narrow point solution, and how they keep quality high. 27:08 - Brownfield vs Greenfield Growth Roeland explains why Aikido started by replacing existing tools and is now moving into faster AI-driven markets. 34:16 - A Practical View of AI in Security Why Roeland believes the future is hybrid, with deterministic scanners and AI working side by side. 36:31 - Can AI Replace Human Pen Testing? Where AI pen testing already works today, where it still falls short, and what adoption barriers remain. Resources:

Elbridge Colby explains that the binding strategy addresses the psychological aspect of war by preparing for the resolve and morale required for a larger conflict. It aims to force China into a dilemma: accept the status quo or take actions that inevitably catalyze the coalition's collective resolve. By integrating the defense of allies like Japan and Australia, the U.S. ensures that a Chinese move against Taiwan precipitates a wider war China would likely lose. This strategy leverages Thumos, or spiritedness, to ensure that Chinese aggression triggers a "don't tread on me" reaction from nationalistic regional powers. (7/8)SEPTEMBER 1932
