In honor of my book relaunch, I am sharing this special STRENGTH acrostic episode that I recorded in 2023 around the one-year birthday of my first edition of Depth. You are going to learn so much for Evelyn Sherwood! Have you ever felt the presence of God? Have you ever felt Him close to you? I know for me, I felt the presence of God the most in the middle of my hard seasons: my divorce, the loss of my friend, and my miscarriage. Maybe you can relate. This week on the podcast, I am so excited to have Evelyn Sherwood. She is a friend of mine who sadly has walked through many hardships. One of the things we talk about today is just how much she felt the presence of God in the middle of this hard season. She actually says this amazing quote (I am going to give you a little sneak peek because it is so good). She says, "The sweetness of His presence far surpassed the pain of my suffering." Evelyn has so much wisdom to share with you. So, we are going to be going through the acrostic. Today we look at S which stands for Seek God and Invite Him Into the pain. I am so excited for you to hear the wisdom from Evelyn of how she was able to seek God and invite Him into the middle of her pain. She went through an intense 18 month season where there was one storm after another, so you do not want to miss the truth she shares! Below are the other letters from the STRENGTH acrostic in my Depth book! I will be showing all the interviews over on YouTube- one each week! This week, T. Louise gets real about the weight of walking with God when life feels heavy. Even after trusting God through job loss, uncertainty, and waiting seasons, she admits — faith isn't always easy. Sometimes it's a fight between what you feel and what you know to be true.In this raw and honest episode, T. Louise shares how the enemy uses doubt and discouragement to distort your view of God and yourself. But even when your emotions say “give up,” God says “trust Me.” Through this conversation, you'll be reminded that your feelings don't define your faith — obedience does.

Join today's sermon as we explore Jesus' warning about mammon — the spirit of selfishness that competes with God — and learn how the good life is found in generosity, stewardship, and trust in God rather than in accumulating wealth. This short teaching offers practical steps (budgeting, contentment, debt reduction, and tithing) and an invitation to test God by giving, so your life becomes a river of blessing rather than a reservoir of possessions. Introduction: Words have meaning. What is Mammon? Is it money? - 1 Timothy 6:10 Mammon is a false god that promises you can trust money to give you what only God can. Breaking Free from Mammon Change your life's focus from consuming to giving. - Acts 20:35 Generosity destroys the power of mammon in your life. Practical Steps to Generosity Understand that we are managers, not owners. (Deuteronomy 8:17-18). Live on a budget. (Luke 14:28-30). Learn to be content. (Luke 12:15). Pay off all debt. (Proverbs 22:7). The Ultimate Test: A Challenge The baseline for generosity in Scripture is a tithe (10%) (Malachi 3:8-10). You cannot outgive God. The purpose of His blessing is not so you can keep more, but so you can give more. Be a river, not a reservoir. Conclusion: Who are you trusting: God or mammon? Ask God what He wants you to do so you can trust Him more.   Find other Podcasts, Sermon Notes and the Bulletin here. https://www.mvcnaz.org/live Stay in touch with our Church Center App at https://www.mvcnaz.org/churchcenter Contact us through our CONNECT form at https://www.mvcnaz.org/connect   With Pastor Mike Curry.

27 On the fourteenth night we were still being driven across the Adriatic[c] Sea, when about midnight the sailors sensed they were approaching land. 28 They took soundings and found that the water was a hundred and twenty feet[d] deep. A short time later they took soundings again and found it was ninety feet[e] deep. 29 Fearing that we would be dashed against the rocks, they dropped four anchors from the stern and prayed for daylight. 30 In an attempt to escape from the ship, the sailors let the lifeboat down into the sea, pretending they were going to lower some anchors from the bow. 31 Then Paul said to the centurion and the soldiers, “Unless these men stay with the ship, you cannot be saved.” 32 So the soldiers cut the ropes that held the lifeboat and let it drift away. 33 Just before dawn Paul urged them all to eat. “For the last fourteen days,” he said, “you have been in constant suspense and have gone without food—you haven't eaten anything. 34 Now I urge you to take some food. You need it to survive. Not one of you will lose a single hair from his head.” 35 After he said this, he took some bread and gave thanks to God in front of them all. Then he broke it and began to eat. 36 They were all encouraged and ate some food themselves. 37 Altogether there were 276 of us on board. 38 When they had eaten as much as they wanted, they lightened the ship by throwing the grain into the sea. 39 When daylight came, they did not recognize the land, but they saw a bay with a sandy beach, where they decided to run the ship aground if they could. 40 Cutting loose the anchors, they left them in the sea and at the same time untied the ropes that held the rudders. Then they hoisted the foresail to the wind and made for the beach. 41 But the ship struck a sandbar and ran aground. The bow stuck fast and would not move, and the stern was broken to pieces by the pounding of the surf. 42 The soldiers planned to kill the prisoners to prevent any of them from swimming away and escaping. 43 But the centurion wanted to spare Paul's life and kept them from carrying out their plan. He ordered those who could swim to jump overboard first and get to land. 44 The rest were to get there on planks or on other pieces of the ship. In this way everyone reached land safely.

From Jonah's cry in the belly of the fish, we learn that despair can turn into direction when we embrace God's mercy, practice gratitude, and trust that obedience leads to purpose. 5 Powerful Reasons to Trust God, Even When Life Feels Uncertain

In a world that often spins faster than we can catch up, trusting anyone—let alone someone you can't physically see—can feel like a leap. But for millions, trusting God isn't blind faith; it's a relationship grounded in experience, wisdom, and love. Whether you're walking through a season of doubt or simply seeking deeper peace, here are five powerful reasons to lean into trust:    1. God's Faithfulness Stands the Test of Time  "Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations..." — Deuteronomy 7:9  History, Scripture, and personal testimonies echo a consistent truth: God shows up. Not always how we expect—but always with purpose.    2. His Love Doesn't Flinch  "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." — Romans 5:8  There is comfort in being known completely and still unconditionally loved. God doesn't base His love on performance—it's already been fully given.    3. There's Purpose in the Pain  "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him..." — Romans 8:28  Pain doesn't always make sense, but it's never wasted. Trusting God invites us to believe that even brokenness can be used to build something beautiful.    4. He Leads Even When the Map's Blurry  "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding..." — Proverbs 3:5-6  When decisions loom and uncertainty crowds in, God offers a peace-filled path—not always the easiest, but often the most transforming.    5. Peace Isn't Conditional  "And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds..." — Philippians 4:7  God doesn't promise a storm-free life, but He does promise to be our anchor. His peace isn't based on perfect circumstances—it's rooted in His presence.   kenn.blanchard@gmail.com

"Why doesn't God answer my prayers? Is God even real?" Especially around Easter, when faith is supposed to feel joyful and full, these questions can feel even heavier. In this special Easter episode, host Julie Rose speaks with Reverend Kyle Norman—Rector and Dean of St. Paul's Anglican Cathedral and author of “Alive, Loved, and Free: Finding Jesus When Faith is Hard.” Together they talk through the hidden struggles of spiritual discouragement, doubt, and the quiet shame that can follow when life falls apart—especially for those who deeply believe. Kyle shares how his wife's battle with cancer led him to some of the hardest faith questions of his life: “Is God judging my family? If we were better Christians, would this not have happened?” Julie and Kyle explore what it means to keep seeking God, even when He feels far away—and how Easter can be a time of renewed hope for those stuck in spiritual dry seasons. If you've ever felt like you're doing faith “wrong,” or wondered why prayer feels pointless, this conversation is for you. Revelation 15–16 gives us a look at the final crescendo of God's justice. His wrath isn't unjust or cruel—it's the necessary and holy response of His love as He refuses to let evil go unpunished. As judgment is poured out in seven bowls, we're reminded again and again that God is righteous, holy, and trustworthy. The invitation to flee His wrath is still open—and the time to respond is now.Key Themes:· The Good Wrath of God: God's wrath is not contrary to His love—it flows from it. Just as love protects what it cherishes, God's wrath comes against all that harms His creation. (Revelation 15:1; Romans 1:18)· Songs of the Redeemed: The saints sing the song of Moses and the Lamb—songs of victory and deliverance from their great enemies. Worship in heaven is God-centered, not self-centered. (Revelation 15:2-4)· Recapitulation and Judgment: Revelation uses multiple viewpoints—seven seals, seven trumpets, and now seven bowls—to show the same unfolding judgment with growing intensity. (Revelation 15–16)· God's Wrath Is Finished: With the final bowl poured out, the wrath of God is declared finished. Evil collapses. Babylon—the symbol of rebellion—is destroyed. (Revelation 16:17-21)· The Justice of God: Even heaven celebrates God's judgments, declaring them just and true. (Revelation 16:5-7)· The Call to Repentance: Again and again, the unrepentant curse God rather than turn to Him. The window of mercy remains open, but not forever. Judgment is both horrifying and comforting—it glorifies God and vindicates the faithful. (Revelation 16:8-11)· Armageddon and the Final Stand: The forces of evil gather for a final rebellion. Yet even this is under God's control. The King of kings will win, and no power of darkness can stop Him. (Revelation 16:12-16)Reflection:The wrath of God should sober us—but it should also comfort us. Evil will not win. Justice will prevail. And mercy is still available. Will we harden our hearts, or will we respond in repentance and awe? Jesus Christ has absorbed the wrath of God for those who are His. In Him, we are safe—forever.Key Texts:·Revelation 15–16·Exodus (plagues and the song of Moses)·Romans 1:18 (the wrath of God revealed against sin)·Psalm 139:23-24 (search me and know me)·John 19:30 (“It is finished”)Support Our Mission:Your generosity helps us proclaim Christ as King and equip disciples to make disciples.https://alloflife.churchcenter.com/givingVisit Our Website:www.alloflife.church#Revelation14 #ChristIsKing #ForkInTheRoad #TheLambWins #EnduranceInFaith
