The interim agreement aimed at ending the war between the US and Iran has fallen apart barely three weeks after it was signed. Iran has resumed attacks on commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz, claiming it has control over the entire waterway and any vessels crossing it must co-ordinate with its forces. The US, seeing this as a breach of the ceasefire agreement signed on June 17, has responded by launching a series of strikes against Iranian military targets. Tehran has been firing drones and missiles towards Gulf neighbours as well as Jordan, saying it is aiming at US military assets in those countries. Now, retaliatory naval blockades have been reinstated. US President Donald Trump has said the strait is open for all except Iranian ships, but the UN's maritime agency has issued a warning that the waterway is not safe. Meanwhile, seafarers continue to suffer in limbo, with some already killed or injured in Iranian attacks. The centrepiece is an updated Preliminary Economic Assessment for the company's 100%-owned Ashram Rare Earths and Fluorspar Project in Nunavik, Québec, released and followed by the formal NI 43-101 Technical Report required under Canadian disclosure rules.The updated PEA confirms Ashram as a 30-year, large-scale development. On a post-tax basis, the project delivers an NPV8 of C$2.03 billion, an IRR of 22.0%, and payback of 3.9 years from the start of production; pre-tax figures are stronger, at C$3.44 billion NPV8 and 25.6% IRR. Life-of-mine revenue is forecast at C$24.6 billion, with EBITDA of C$15.5 billion (a 62.7% margin), driven by average annual production of approximately 17,466 tonnes of saleable rare earth oxide, including roughly 4,035 tonnes of NdPr oxide. Initial capital expenditure is estimated at C$1.23 billion, including a 30% contingency, with the Company also anticipating C$342 million in refundable Clean Technology Manufacturing tax credits.The updated Mineral Resource Estimate totals 204.3Mt (73.2Mt Indicated at 1.89% TREO and 131.1Mt Inferred at 1.91% TREO), with the mine plan drawing on only around 25% of that base over its 30-year life leaving room for future expansion, including the currently excluded BD-Zone. NdPr, the primary magnet metal pairing, represents approximately 21% of the resource's total rare earth oxide content, a distribution that positions Ashram to supply the higher-value end of the rare earth basket into markets forecast to grow at 8-12% annually through 2050.Beyond the economic study, Mont Royal is managing two other active workstreams. First, the company acknowledged an independent, Nation-led initiative from the Naskapi Nation of Kawawachikamach to evaluate potential regional access corridor options, a process Mont Royal says it respects but does not control, running in parallel to its own engagement with Inuit, Naskapi and Innu communities on Ashram-related infrastructure. Second, the company's 75%-owned Northern Lights Minerals project is undergoing a helicopter-supported gold till-sampling survey across the Chateaufort Property, targeting ground directly along strike from Benz Mining's 1,005,000oz Eastmain gold deposit, with preliminary data expected in August 2026 and a full report in Q3.For investors, the key considerations are straightforward. On the positive side: a resource base and NdPr distribution that stack up well against global peers, PEA economics that clear the bar for progression to Pre-Feasibility Study, and access to Canadian government funding support, including the anticipated tax credit allocation. On the risk side: the PEA carries a ±50% accuracy range typical of scoping-level studies, no off-take agreements or committed financing are yet in place against the roughly C$1.23 billion initial capital requirement, and the assumed third-party access-road cost model has not yet been formalised into an infrastructure agreement. Odd : Wendy's Becomes a Meme Stock - Wendy's became the latest retail-trader short-squeeze target. - Stock surged 25% last Wednesday, then gained another 9% Thursday. - Barron's said the move followed a CFO shakeup and WallStreetBets attention. - New CFO Steve Cirulis came from Potbelly and is also taking the Chief Strategy Officer title. - Wendy's had fallen 47% over the past year before the rally. - Short interest was nearly 30% of the public float, making the stock easier to squeeze. - Trian, Nelson Peltz's firm, owned nearly 15 million shares valued around $93 million. SpaceX Bonds Slip After Big Debut - SpaceX sold $25 billion of investment-grade bonds, its first major public debt deal. - Demand was huge, with roughly $85 billion to $98 billion of orders. - The 10-year tranche priced about 1.4 percentage points over Treasurys. - Bonds weakened quickly after pricing. - The 10-year yield rose near 6%, with the spread moving above 1.6 percentage points. - Longer-dated 2046 and 2056 bonds took the most pressure. - The pushback: bond buyers want more yield for a company still funding rockets, Starlink, AI/data-center spending, and Mars ambitions. - Clean read: equity investors bought the story; bond investors immediately marked it down. On Thursday's Mark Levin Show, we have a Memorandum of Understanding with Iran requiring another 60 days of negotiations. The full details remain unreleased and unseen, which makes premature celebration impossible. If it is done and will be signed in 48-72 hours, let's see it. The core concern is long-term enforcement, given Iran's history as a terrorist regime that has never abided by any agreement, and exists to destroy the West and non-compliant Muslims through funding groups like Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis. How effective will enforcement be post-Trump presidency, especially under Democrats. We have the enemy where we want it. We may never again. It was right to attack them, and in a few weeks' time they were on their back. We hit the brakes for 9 weeks. First the Israelis and then we went back to military action this week, and the regime was badly damaged beyond the original damage. Rather than destroy it, including arming the Iranian people, we have an MOU and future negotiations. Also, Roger Zakheim, Director of the Ronald Reagan Institute, calls in and details the lack of any trustworthy record from the Iranian regime, warning that the deal may not be worth the paper it's written on despite the U.S. having weakened Iran through Operation Epic Fury and economic blockade pressure. Any worthwhile agreement must reverse the JCPOA by demanding zero enrichment, ending the missile program, halting support for terrorist groups like Hezbollah, and ensuring open Straits. Later, Rep Jamie Raskin is already leading a plot to impeach the President if the Democrats take the House. Republicans should move to expel Jamie Raskin from the House.  If he can continue to abuse our constitutional system and undermine our electoral process (ironic, since he blames Trump and Republicans for doing so), having led every effort described above, then take the necessary steps to charge him under the expulsion clause. Finally, Rep Bryan Steil calls in to discuss his three-year investigation into potential fraud at ActBlue, particularly its weak fraud prevention standards that allow foreign funds into U.S. elections.
