In episode 91 we have KC back in the studio here in Charlotte, NC! He got back to Charlotte this past Friday, and we are back together once again. He was in Arizona for a while living, and decided it was best to be back here near his son. I also open up and go in depth with my past addiction with gambling. It will soon be legal here in NC. Also mention a new hotline that went live Tuesday 2/20. The hotline is a peer support line for those dealing with mental health and substance abuse.

This week we are joined by friends of the Hite Family Judd & Lisa Rupp! Judd played football at UVA. He met the love of his live, Lisa right after graduating from UVA. She was a rising Junior at Ohio State. Judd, a very in-shape individual, had a heart that was very weak. Doctors said it was nothing to worry about, but that wasn't the case. Take a listen as Judd and Lisa discuss their journey as newly weds to later in life when he was blessed with a new heart!

In this episode we are joined by long time family friends John & Renee Ratcliffe, founders of the Charlotte-based non-profit Cakeable. They open up and share their story and how it led to them starting Cakeable. Cakeable is a nonprofit workforce development program for adults who live with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We offer vocational training and opportunities in our bakery and the Cakeable Cafe (coming 2023!)

This week we are joined by Titus Broom. Titus went from being a drug dealer to getting shot up and losing his ability to walk to serving time in prison, yes in the wheelchair. Coming out of prison he went to College and earned his Bachelors in Psychology. He uses his past experiences to speak into the lives of youth that are incarcerated, in rehab, in church, a mosque or standing in a park or a store parking lot. His encouragement is not just for youth, but to all those who feel that the obstacles that often occur in life have put them on pause.

This week we are joined by 3 of Charles' closest friends to talk about what it is like being in someones life who is battling addiction and mental health issues.

This week we are joined by Jim Morgan. Jim Morgan is a Christian business leader who has led six different companies, including Executive Chairman of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts and Chairman/CEO of Wachovia Securities.  He is on the board of Coca-Cola Consolidated, Inc., The YMCA of Greater Charlotte, and Youth Commission International. In helping lead Krispy Kreme's successful turnaround, he said of his approach, “I wanted to be like Jesus to the employees.  They just needed someone to love on them.  That's all I did.”

In the local community, Patrick serves on the Behavioral Health Committee at Atrium Health Foundation and on the Board of Directors at Emerald School of Excellence, the Carolina's first Recovery High School. In Patrick's free time he enjoys playing basketball, practicing meditation and studying anything he feels may expand his ability to live a more love-filled life. He lives in Matthews, NC, with his wife Anya and their three young children.

In this episode we are joined by Katie Kopfle. In high school she began struggling with an eating disorder. She went to App State to become a teacher. After three and half years things changed. She had began working out and decided to switch major to Health Promotions. Post college she began competing in body building shows. She is now a coach and helps ladies reach their fitness goals and has a few clients who compete! So blessed to have been able to sit down, reconnect and talk life!

This week we are joined by Cristina Nesbit to share her traumatic experience being sex trafficked. We are so thankful for her vulnerability in sharing her testimony and hope it helps others out there who have been been victims of sex trafficking or abuse.
