A Sláger FM-en minden este 22 órakor a kultúráé a főszerep S. https://youtu.be/ySHMeFn4kPA Andy Hite, Founder of Scaling Minds Coaching & Consulting, is on a mission to help leaders navigate complexity, align their teams, and drive meaningful results by transforming both self-leadership and organizational leadership. We explore Andy's Six Shifts Leadership Operating System: Trust, Candor, Ownership, Empowerment, Alignment, and Leadership—a framework that turns groups of executives into high-performing, strategically aligned leadership teams. Andy shares why self-leadership is the starting point for culture change, how to move from hub-and-spoke decision-making to empowered departmental ownership, and why peer accountability and “The Gym of Life” are essential for lasting leadership growth. --- Take Your People to the Gym of Life with Andy Hite Good day, listeners. Steve Preda here with the Management Blueprint Podcast, and my guest today is Andy Hite, the founder of Scaling Minds Coaching and Consulting, helping leaders navigate complexity, align their teams, and drive meaningful results. Andy, welcome to the show. Hey, Steve. Thanks for having me. I'm excited for the conversation. Yeah, you've got a great story. You've got a great business. And let's get into it with my favorite question, which is, what is your personal “Why” and what are you doing to manifest it in your business? Yeah, I love that question. Because most people can answer what is your “Why.” They might reach for something, but I love the follow-up. What are you actually doing to manifest it? Because that's the part that a lot of people don't always consider. I have a personal and a professional “Why.” My personal “Why,” I really landed on seven, eight years ago. My personal “Why” is to show my children that they can do and be and achieve anything they want. My kids are now 19, twin daughters, by the way. And as most parents do when they're younger, as they're growing up, we tell them these things. Hey, you can do anything, you could be anything, you can create anything. But I was confronted maybe eight years ago with walking the walk, not just talking the talk. I had a corporate gig and the thought and idea of starting this business was there. And for a while, I kind of put blinders on because truthfully, as many of your listeners can imagine, I'm sure you can imagine as well, leaving something that's steady and secure to start over in your forties is really, really scary, and most people, I talked to a lot of people, entrepreneurs, they're like, I can't do it. I have a family of obligations, I have bills. And I was confronted with that. I've been telling my kids this forever, am I living it? Am I actually going after the things that I want? And so I didn't want my words to be hollow. So I started walking the walk. I left that work and I started this business. And every day, as entrepreneurs know, can be a struggle as we're building. And so it's really just showing them, hey, if you're willing to put in the work, you can create anything. You can be anything.Share on X So that's a long-winded answer, Steve, of what my personal “Why” is and how I get up every morning thinking about, don't be a hypocrite, go do the work and show them. I tell this to my kids as well, that the biggest thing about being a father is that, or any parent, is that there's nowhere to hide. So, you really have to evoke, otherwise you are a hypocrite and it's not always easy. You have to really do the right thing, not just pretend you're doing the right thing because they're gonna see it. Yeah, well, and I didn't want my words to just be for them or hollow. So I was forced to kind of walk the walk and thank God I did. Yeah. Okay, well, I'm sure that there is another motivation behind this. It's not just the show for the kids. You've got to love what you're doing. So, tell me a little bit about what you do and specifically you develop the leadership operating system called Six Shifts.
Let me know your thoughts on the show and what topic you would like me to discuss next. What if the stress and pressure you've been taught are necessary for success are actually holding you back? Dr. Brian Hite, high-performance psychologist and professional stuntman with over 30 years of experience in Hollywood and elite military training, shares groundbreaking insights that challenge everything we think we know about performing under pressure.Drawing from both Eastern and Western philosophies, Brian reveals that pressure isn't something inherent in situations—it exists only in our minds when we focus on potential consequences rather than present actions. He carefully distinguishes between stress (which stems from perceiving situations as threatening) and pressure (which comes from fixating on future outcomes), offering a revolutionary framework for eliminating both.Through his Phase X methodology, Brian breaks down performance into four critical phases—before, right before, during, and after—providing actionable strategies for managing your physical, mental, emotional, and social states in each phase. This structured approach transforms overwhelming high-stakes moments into manageable processes where you can maintain focus on what truly matters.Perhaps most compelling is Brian's insight about opportunity in challenging situations. He explains that seizing opportunities requires three elements: the awareness to recognize possibilities, the flexibility to pivot from established paths, and the courage to take that first step into the unknown. His concept of the "point of no return"—that liberating moment where commitment becomes complete and anxiety often vanishes—offers a powerful reframe for anyone facing difficult decisions.Whether you're struggling with career challenges, relationship conversations, or personal growth obstacles, Brian's practical wisdom will help you transform how you experience life's most demanding moments. Stop enduring pressure and start eliminating it. Your path to peak performance begins with mastering the present moment.Key moments in this episode:03:11 Brian's Journey and Insights 11:03 Defining High Stakes and Pressure13:16 Eastern and Western Philosophies on Stress17:15 Understanding Pressure vs. Stress22:41 The Role of Arousal in Performance25:13 Boosting Motivation and Managing Pressure27:57 Understanding Phase X Program28:48 Implementing Mental Skills in the Military30:04 Four Phases of Performance33:27 Applying Phase X in Everyday Life37:43 Self-Awareness, Acceptance, and Self-Regulation42:13 Recognizing and Seizing Opportunities46:31 Final Thoughts and Contact InformationHow to reach Brian:Website: https://www.brianhiteglobal.com/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/brian.hite1/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/brianchite/Book: Support the showThanks for listening to the Revolutionary Man Podcast. Justin Hite has worked with some of Kaua‘i's rarest forest birds like the ʻAkekeʻe and the ‘Akikiki, down to the last individuals in the remote ʻAlakaʻi rain forests. As the former field supervisor of the Kaua‘i Forest Bird Recovery Project over a decade, he helped track and collect eggs of these incredibly rare birds for captive propagation to establish “emergency” populations in the event of their extinction in the wild. His career as a birder spans decades across multiple continents and countries to Kauai where he spent over 1,000 field nights camping in remote terrain. He talks about his field adventures and his current work on the Birds Not Mosquitos project which aims to reduce the most serious existential threat to Hawaiian honeycreepers: fatal diseases carried by mosquitoes.
Dr. Michelle Hite on Mothering While Black, Everyday Courage, and the Power of Telling the Truth What happens when the world sees your child as a threat before it sees them as human? What does it cost to raise a child while defending your right to grieve, to question, to be seen? This conversation centers the weight—and the wisdom—of mothering while Black. In this featured National Black Girl Month™ 2025 episode, we're joined by Dr. Michelle Hite, Spelman College professor, public scholar, and cultural critic whose work traces the intersections of Black identity, grief, and resistance. Together with co-host Dr. Rikesha Fry Brown, we examine what it means to mother, nurture, and protect in a world that wasn't built for our safety. This episode isn't about resilience. It's about truth-telling as a form of care. You'll hear: How cultural narratives, from Mamie Till to Toni Morrison, shape our understanding of motherhood Why public strength can't replace private witnessing The difference between independence and isolation—and why communal living is the lesson we keep returning to How everyday gestures become sacred acts of protection, memory, and joy Why sharing isn't a virtue. It's a practice. And we're out of practice. Whether you're a mother by birth, bond, or assignment, this conversation invites you to return to what you know: you don't have to do it alone. In this thrilling and insightful episode, Avik Chakraborty sits down with Brian Hite, a modern-day Renaissance man whose extraordinary journey spans careers as a Hollywood stuntman and a PhD in organizational psychology. With over 100 TV and film credits, an SCG Award, and decades of experience navigating high-stakes environments, Brian shares how he mastered the art of thriving under stress. Listeners will gain a deeper understanding of motivation, the psychological roots of pressure, and how to achieve peak performance through Brian's transformative four-phase approach. About the Guest: Brian Hite is a seasoned stuntman, award-winning performer, and organizational psychologist. Known for his remarkable ability to stay calm under extreme circumstances—whether hit by cars, set on fire, or leaping off buildings—Brian brings a unique perspective to understanding human resilience and success. With his background in psychology, he has worked with high-level clients, including the U.S. Army, to teach strategies for handling stress and motivating teams. His approach integrates science, personal anecdotes, and actionable advice to empower individuals to excel under pressure. Reach: https://brianhiteglobal.com/ Key Takeaways: The Dual Nature of Motivation: Motivation is influenced by both its levels and sources. Levels of motivation depend on three factors: belief in success, value placed on the task, and whether perceived benefits outweigh costs. Understanding why we are motivated is crucial for sustaining long-term engagement. The Myth of Pressure: Pressure is not inherent in situations; it is a mental construct shaped by our perceptions. By reframing how we think about circumstances, we can transform stress into an opportunity for growth. Lessons from Leadership: Motivation challenges often stem from misunderstandings about what drives people. Leaders can inspire by addressing competence, aligning values, and managing perceived costs and benefits of tasks. Brian's Four-Phase Peak Performance Framework: Though not detailed in the transcript, Brian hints at a structured approach to thriving under stress—balancing mindset, methods, and execution. Reclaiming Control Over Pressure: Through anecdotes from his stuntman career, Brian demonstrates that even in seemingly high-pressure scenarios, mindset determines the experience. Practical strategies include redefining goals, focusing on the present, and understanding the psychology behind stress. This episode offers a compelling mix of action-packed storytelling and practical advice, providing listeners with tools to navigate both personal and professional challenges with grace and resilience. Renaissance Man: Stuntman and Performance Expert Challenging Assumptions, Elevating Success Brian Hite is a modern-day Renaissance Man. His journey from the adrenaline-fueled world of stunts to the thoughtful realms of philosophy and psychology gives him a unique perspective on performance and motivation. With over 100 film and TV credits, including a Screen Actors Guild award for 24, Brian has been hit by cars, set on fire, and jumped off buildings—all while mastering the art of performing under pressure. But what sets him apart isn't just his physical feats—it's how he's blended these experiences with a deep understanding of the mind and human behavior. Brian's fascination with the mind began during his early stunt career. While he thrived on the physical challenges of stunts, he realized that what intrigued him most was the mental preparation and focus that allowed him to excel in high-pressure environments. This led him to complete degrees in psychology, including a Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology, where he studied how our thoughts, beliefs, and emotions impact performance, leadership, and resilience. But Brian's story isn't just about the stunts or the degrees—it's about how he uses this unique combination to challenge deeply held assumptions about pressure, motivation, and what it means to perform at our best. @https://www.brianhiteglobal.com/#ScienceOfMotivation#BrianHiteInspires#CultivateDrive#InternalMotivation #AchieveLastingSuccess#MotivationScience#UnlockYourDrive#SuccessMindset#SustainableSuccess#MotivationMastery
Today we have a solo episode. ❗️Life & Business Update ❗️I hinted at this the other day.I've been excited to finally share this news with everyone today. Some of you may know this, but I know that many don't. I haven't been at Hite Digital since February of this year. I spent almost 3 years at Hite as both a franchisee and partner of the company. Thank you to all of the amazing people I met along the way, including employees and clients. Back in March of this year, I went all-in on Builders of Authority. We started out with our group Mastermind (that now has over 70 members) and 1-1 coaching (where I have 7 clients). Mainly all of it was focused on personal branding and becoming the authority. The mastermind is going to have some more exciting updates I'll be sharing soon. It then launched into us doing 2 in person events here in St. Louis with 50 and 75 people respectively. This year has been a challenging one with everything that's gone on, but we are doing some incredible things and will only continue to do more. I'm excited to announce officially today that we are re-launching our digital marketing agency to the public. Over the last few months we have gotten so many requests for us to help out with web design, SEO, google business profile, and paid ads. Rightfully so, we are really good at what we do and we practice what we preach by doing digital marketing for companies we own and are partnered in. The results speak for themselves. We have clients we have already been working with that are seeing some amazing results (I'm sure some will chime in on this post and I'm more than happy to pass along references). We aren't going to grow to a crazy number of clients or team members. We are going to focus on ROI and taking care of our clients, having a personalized relationship with all of them. We have an incredible team already, which we will formally introduce to you all soon. Because we want to make sure we focus on quality over quantity, we can only take on 3 clients right now. This week alone we already generated over 30 leads for our services without even making this public. After today this will only continue to grow. We will always have a waiting list because people have wanted to get back to working directly with me and a smaller team to get amazing results. We aren't going to take on anyone and everyone; in fact I've already told quite a few people “we won't be a good fit”, and I'm totally okay with that. We are having great success because we are partnering with the right people, not anyone and everyone. So if you're interested in having a conversation to see how we can help, let's do it. We are going to be announcing some other offerings available to the public here soon as well as hiring for a few positions internally.Come join us as we grow together

Brian Hite, Ph.D., is a seasoned professional with over 40 years of experience in performance, psychology, and coaching. He has a rich background as a stuntman and coordinator in film and TV, an adjunct faculty member at Grand Canyon University, and a performance psychology consultant for the U.S. Army. He holds a Bachelor's in Psychology, a Master's in Sport Psychology, and a Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology, along with certifications as a Certified Mental Performance Consultant®, Certified Leadership Coach, and Certified Executive Coach. Brian founded Begin Again Performance Psychology to enhance the mental strength and well-being of athletes, performers, and business leaders. Key Takeaways The Four Phases of Performance: Brian breaks down performance into before, right before, during, and after phases. Mastering the "right before" phase, when emotions and energy can spiral, is crucial for success. Achieving the Ideal Performance State: Brian uses breath control, progressive muscle relaxation, mental imagery, and attentional focus on the first 2 seconds of the task to get into the zone or "bubble." Nervousness and Excitement are Physiologically the Same: The difference lies in perceiving the situation as a threat or challenge. Framing the energy positively allows you to use it to your benefit. Eastern Philosophy and Western Psychology Overlap: Both emphasize the mind-body connection and achieving optimal mental states. Embracing this connection can lead to more flow experiences. Three Keys to Personal Change: Develop self-awareness of thoughts, emotions and their influence. Accept current reality. Take self-regulatory action to make positive changes.
