No matter how good you are at something, you still have to practice the fundamentals. Developing intuition requires knowing how you uniquely access this type of information and information in general. The question is, how do we begin to sense it accurately? Where we get stuck is our interpretation and accuracy of intuitive data. In today's show, we're going to look at your Intuitive Learning Preferences. They are the way in which you receive your intuitive information at its base level. When you connect with and dive into these fundamentals skills, you'll have more confidence in discernment and clarity. Intuition and logic use the same brain and nervous system. Your brain! Your evolution requires you to use both and to ferret out the nervous chatter that doesn't allow you to align with logic or intuitive intelligence. Those chatty mind monkeys can be put to rest by practicing the fundamentals. Listen and discover what intuitive learning style resonates with you. They are your pathways through life, relationships, purpose, and business. Check out some free resources to help relax and develop your intuition www.laurakamm.com/resources
These days, there are so many prayerful requests - for well-being, regaining jobs, keeping small businesses open, and just keeping one's feet on the ground. Positive thoughts and prayers are careening around the web and the world. Dr. Christine joins me today, asking great questions, “What happens to our positive thoughts once we send them to someone? Do our prayers and good wishes matter? Where do prayer requests land in your body when you're asked to send good thoughts?” The conversation covers various practices and ideas to to help you stay in compassionate neutrality and send others positive thoughts without emotionally attaching in a non-helpful manner. I'll also share my favorite prayer. The prayer which got me through being sick and dying. Three simple words. they say it all! It's effective and the shortest prayer ever. Because the heavens know exactly what you need and when you need it. Mentioned in the show: The Intention Experiment, by Lynne McTaggart. https://lynnemctaggart.com
It feels awful when you're confused, sad, and don't know what to do. When the heavens knock at your door, you know there's a new direction calling. It's up to you to answer the call. But how do you do that when its tough. You know the old saying, “When the goign gets tough, the tough get going.” I say, “When the going gets tough, go inside and then get going.” Sometimes we have to breathe our way through things, instead of breezing our way through. Somewhere, some how a way is illuminated. It always is; even if we can't see it in the moment. In today's show, we'll break down principles, which will help when you're looking at an uphill battle. Whatever you're facing, there is a pathway through it. Learn to turn your intuitive lens to a new perspective. Observe yourself. Observe the beauty in the world. Don't sink into the anger and fear that is here and now, and within so many. This is not a head-in-the-sand approach. It's even, realistic, honest, authentic and will lead you home.
My dad would often paraphrase one of Jesus's sayings when he knew one of his committees needed to take a break, “It's time for us to go apart, before we come apart.” Today, step apart from the world for a few minutes. Refuel within your internal sanctuary. The world needs you whole and balanced in the midst of our crazed environment. We need a little sprinkle of grace. We've just completed election day here in the USA. However, the tumult is not over, here or in other areas of the world. We need to calm ourselves, hopefully calming the trembling fields of energy and present stress of COVID-19. Let's put down our frustrations, anger, and exhausted fear and call forth grace. Our cells need it. Grace is a palpable literal substance. I'm sure you've felt it. Grace can befall us when we least expect it (thank you God) or when we intentionally call grace forward. Today, let's begin a practice of cultivating grace. It's a simple process of being of present to yourself and inviting in a stronger awareness of the ever-present substance and sustenance of healing grace. I trust this practice shared within today's podcast will serve you today and for many days to come.
Anxiety is debilitating. I get it. It's like being the scared cat up in the tree and the one on trying to talk the cat down at the same time. That's not easy. Yet, you have the power to breathe… That basic function, as you know, calms the body faster and is most effectively. Yet, when we're anxious, what do we do? We STOP breathing. Odd little paring, wouldn't you say? I trust the Metta Meditation practice supported you in calming you body, mind, and any anxiety you may be feeling. We ran through the First Step of the Metta Meditation in Podcast #007. You'll find the pdf of this practice here: https://www.laurakamm.com/show-note-episode-007 If you missed Part 1, take a listen. You can either go back and listen to Show #007 now or after this show, which is the continuation of the conversation - Compassion Within the Fires of Anxiety Part 2 - https://www.laurakamm.com/show-note-episode-008 Enjoy Part 2 of this vulnerable and revealing conversation about anxiety and how to shift your internal compass back toward calm and inner civility. Even if calm civility is not happening in the outer world, that doesn't mean you have to absorb the anger and adverse. You must be able to rise above it and hold compassionate space. Nothing will get done for the benefit of humanity, the planet if we are wiser than some of the words and emotions that are flying through the airwaves. Christine joins me again and you'll be parachuted down in the middle of where we left off last week. We'll keep moving through revelations and I'll tie a bow around this conversation compassion and the fires of anxiety. Enjoy the show!
Have you felt anxiety lately? Do you realize anxiety is your most authentic emotion regarding truth in the moment? The simple truth is, when you experience anxiety you have unanswered questions. Anxiety is born when we don't know what's happening and want to. Or we have a question and we're afraid to ask it. In today's podcast Christine joins me in an unplanned, unscripted conversation. Not one word we had planned to discuss was uttered toward the mic. Instead our conversation turn from our preliminary chitchat, into a vulnerable and honest conversation about anxiety and compassion. It was such a juicy conversation it's been broken into two podcasts. Today's show, Part 1 of Finding Compassion in the Fires of Anxiety, you'll be dropped into the middle of our conversation. Part way through, I'll take you and Christine through a meditative practice, which can help settle your anxiety, giving your mind and heart time to relax and expand. Perhaps you'll find yourself brave enough to ask those unanswered questions. For the only way a question can truly remain unsolved and unanswered is if the question is never asked. Listen to your anxiety. It has the power to point you toward a direction of personal evolution, instead of a body rattling, I-want-to-go-hide-in-the-closet experience. Let the force of peace be with you even in uncertain moments. Peace and compassion are within us always, somewhere. You'll find a pdf of the Meditation on my website https://www.laurakamm.com/show-note-episode-007

Today I'm with Christine Deitz, and we are answering questions from all over the world on Wednesday Q & A! Listen in to five souls who have concerns about decisions they are making in life and how to move forward in their journey. One listener, Yvonne, isn't sure she trusts her intuition when seeking a job. What can she do to be able to trust her inner voice? She can pull herself back from being scattered by sitting by herself, going for a quiet walk, and slow things down. While she may not have a considerable amount of time to make her career choice, she still needs to get the more contemplative time and to slow down so she can hear her inner voice. A writing exercise I suggest is to start writing down the sentences that are chattering at you and note the emotional intelligence that is coming through next to your sentence. Additionally, wherein your body are you feeling the physical effects. Becky from British Columbia writes to us asking about her daughter-in-law, who has been married to her son for ten years. Every time they see each other, her daughter-in-law bristles, however, she isn't sure why she is behaving this way towards her. Primarily, from an intuitive standpoint, there is a conceptual issue from the way she and her daughter-in-law perceives. Since you each have a different perspective, you can easily perceive that the other person can't hear you. Everyone is at different frequencies, and when that happens in a family, there are too many frequencies to listen to, including the unspoken signals. Pay attention to the language you are using, and are you naturally using different languages and conceptualization? James, like many people, is experiencing high levels of anxiety. I feel that he is creative, and tapping into his creativity will give him calmness and a sense of peace. Creativity must be expressed, or anxiety will well up. Using your gifts points your spirit toward the North Star and will relieve your stress. Show Highlights [01:17] Yvonne from France asks about career choices. [02:49] Why having too many voices gives you internal chaos. [03:20] A writing exercise you can use to weed out chaotic voices. [04:01] Decisions are binary and maybe equates to no right now. [05:00] Becky writes in about a family member who is on a different wavelength. [09:20] James from Massachusetts is experiencing high levels of anxiety. [13:25] Jonathan is furloughed and wants to know the best way to handle the unknown. [15:03] I talk about the difference between chronicle time and outside of linear time. [20:51] Use time off as a time to develop skills you didn't have time for before COVID. Subscribe Today! Let's talk about the fear of the unknown. What do we do when we are facing the unknown? Once we move out of fear, we need to be strategic about our actions. The quality of our decision is affected by the amount of time we get to make that decision. While fear propels us into motion, we need to feel where anxiety is affecting our bodies. Remember, we all have an intuitive system. With intuition, you can pick up many small nuances by just listening and practicing. Using your five senses, you can gather information through your intuitive system. Pay attention to how you feel inside. If you aren't connected to your words and your thoughts, you can feel disheveled and not focused. When I was talking to someone recently, I noticed a void and emptiness in their chest that didn't match up with their words. My job is to use my intuition to see incongruencies in people. Once I can find the inequality, I can move that person to the right path. I asked her to tell me what she was feeling at her core. As she talked, the incongruence began unfolding itself and expressed the truth about her heart and where she is in her core. This resulted in her growing inconsistency. All of life follows a sense of order. Any system can be interrupted by another system. Right now, COVID is affecting our system of life. This virus has put a halt on our standard system and disrupted our way of living. The interruption came suddenly and erupted into our everyday life. Listen in to find out what you can do when a system interrupts your system, how you can get out of your level of fear, what you can do about fear when it comes to your mind and body. Learn why clarity and resilience inside of you will bring you forward in life. Show Highlights [01:51] When your voice and words don't agree with your body energy. [02:36] Inequality of energy that created an imbalance in the body. [03:58] Not thinking about what's inside of us and only feeling the reaction. [05:52] The most important thing you can do for yourself when fear arises. [09:01] Fear will tell you how to react to the situation very quickly. [10:30] You cannot perfectly prepare for any type of interruption. [11:36] Listen to the voice inside yourself for information. [12:34] We will always have interruptions in our world. My sister and I have been inseparable since birth; however, we have very different processes that we go through in life to find answers. In this episode, we will also discuss how I'm not sure what is coming toward me as a question as I go in with a “blank slate,” also known as “The Buddist Mind,” for me to be open to whatever comes my way. Why do we become obsessed with learning about different places and times? Three parts of our life envelop us: the transcendent, transaction, and transformation. People fit within all of these categories by nature. By preference and intellectual perceptions, a human being can stay in one world by choice. Transformation is an alteration of your perceptual lenses. Your perception changes when your perception changes as you change the way you view the world. A-ha moments can transform behavior and shift the lens of perception. This change takes you deeper into the psyche and spirit of who you are in this world. Transcendent moments change your entire life as your world flips upside-down. When I died, I was met by other beings, saw my life I had lived, and viewed the life I was going to live. One of the lessons I learned is about Deja Vu. I found out that Deja Vu is a remembered moment from the depth of your soul, about what you are, who you are here to be, and what you are here to experience. I'm currently experiencing limitlessness and what others would consider a parallel life. When people experience anxiety about historical events, places, or times, Especially when you have a fight or flight type of response, you may have been there during those times. These memories are still with you today. We move back and forth among the continuum of consciousness that exists on different planes. Listen in to find out why there is significant meaning with Deja Vu, the evidence we have of our lives in between our lives, and why these experiences are of a transcendent nature. Learn why you can create transformation in your life, but cannot force the transcendent moment and why enlightenment shouldn't be a goal. Show Highlights [01:03] My sister Christine and I talk about the different ways we approach life. [03:33] Christine asks, “Why are we so fascinated with a particular time in history?” [05:28] What happens when our perception changes? [06:29] How transcendence changes your entire world. [07:53] What I learned about myself when I died. [09:40] The significance of dejavu in your life. [12:56] How we connect with different beings on different planes of consciousness. [15:08] Experiences are of a transcendent nature. [16:43] Being open allows these feelings and experiences to rise within you. Let's have a conversation about contemplation and the different aspects of contemplation. Today, I'll talk about a few of the principles, how to move through the act of contemplating, and how to get into a more centered space when we are feeling off-balance. Contemplative practice is a structured practice without structure. This is an inward practice that allows you to connect and discover and centralize your mind. When you're more centered, you have more access to that which is outside of you, including the unknown. Contemplation works, although the result isn't what you have imagined. Working in the opposite way of planning out what's essential, contemplation is a state of being. You're in a bold state of allowing connection. This gives you the ability to connect on levels you can't imagine. Without the ability to connect, it's challenging to come to a place of genuine compassion for yourself or anyone else. Connecting gives us the ability to tap into our emotions and tell us where we are at any given moment. Compassion is a level above empathy and another level above sympathy. Contemplative practice allows us to connect on a humble and passionate level. Compassion comes in an awakening form and is stabilizing to your body. It changes the way you view the world and the language that arises within you. Listen in to find out why your negative thoughts will take you in the wrong direction in your life, how negative thoughts leave chatter in your mind that are distractors and why nature is one of the best places to have contemplative practice. Learn how contemplative practice can expand your viewpoint, how the gift of your new point of view will bring you peace, and how to let go of your thoughts when moving through the process of contemplation. Show Highlights [01:08] The fear of the unknown in today's world. [03:12] What is contemplation? [05:22] The structure of contemplation and the principles that make it important. [07:44] Compassion is the elevated part of you that exudes loving kindness. [10:17] Negative thoughts are distractors. [13:13] Changes that happen to your perspective lenses as a result of contemplation. [15:42] The purpose of contemplation is not to seek answers. [16:30] Answers always arrive at the right time. It's not easy to understand life or your place in it! Years ago, I was living life, and suddenly I got sick, and within 11 days, I went blind and died. Life changed on a dime, as life can do. I'm a writer, best-selling author, and speaker. When you listen to this show, I'll answer your questions and dive into the different aspects of our life, such as relationships, faith, purpose, and trusting your inner voice. For years, I've helped people around the world, and I'm here to help you by sharing insightful tools from the tangible to the transcendent, opening you to a clear and guided life. Many people don't understand how to use their intuition. Today, I'm going to talk about why it's necessary to understand the anatomy of your intuition. Did you know that there is a defined structure to your intuition? It's true! The structure was always a topic I had an infinity to study. Little did I know this interest came from my ability to witness, see, and sense the unseen and the observed dynamics that were going on in the world around me. Everything has a structure, whether we see it or not. Intuition allows you to sense that unseen structure and your body will enable you to feel it and interpret the data that your nervous system is receiving. You don't have to be a mystic or particular person to have intuition. We are all born with intuition, it's a natural skill we all have, but no one actually teaches us how to use this skill. As a result, we end up not understanding or knowing how to use our intuition effectively. Trust is the most significant problem people have when it comes to their intuition. The self-doubt this generates creates a scenario where we run over ourselves and ignore our intuition. When you have a question pop up in your mind, and then an answer comes to you, this is your intuition working for your better good! Your intuitive system is the system in which ideas and solutions flow. Malcolm Gladwell's book Wink talks about how our intuition is the strongest when we know what we're doing, however; we don't have to be an expert in a field to get an answer for our questions. Listen in to find out how intuition works, why you don't have to be an expert to have intuition, and why intuition is not a gift, but a skill. Learn why intuition is not understood well by humankind, how you can use gaze detection, and why your brain is the endpoint for teasing out signals in your body. Show Highlights [01:14] The defined anatomical structure of your intuition. [02:06] What does intuition allow you to sense? [02:22] Myth: Intuition is very special and few people have a good intuition. [03:27] A story about my friend and how he didn't understand his intuition. [04:58] Details of how your intuition works and what it can do for you. [06:09] Intuition is hardwired into our body. [07:01] The biological phenomenon known as gaze detection. [08:57] The enteric nervous system in your body. [10:41] How to understand a new way of looking at your intuitive system. [14:04] The capacity of your intuitive system can bring in any kind of data.
