"New World Order" "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" is here! The Dads start this season with a discussion of what we hope this show will become. Marvel could use this show to explore the times in between big fights. The smaller social fights that our heroes have to face on the day to day. As always, thanks for the listen. "The Series Finale" WandaVision Season 1 has wrapped. What an adventure! Will we see another season some time down the road? We are looking forward to the MCU Phase this show has launched. Time for a big reveal! So now we know who Agnes is. The Dads are glad that they got that out of the way. Most watchers have guessed that very early on in the show. Now we all can enjoy any big reveals left and also what is definitely going to be a huge fight scene between many of the characters. As always, thank you for the listen and we hope you stay tuned and share us with your friends. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/twodadsreview/message
Welcome one and all to our new podcast location on Anchor.fm. This week the Dads discuss the 6th episode of WandaVision. Look suddenly there are kids! So where was she keeping them? That is a dark notion no matter what the answer is. Let's hope the last 3 episodes of this season are long and give us some major answers. As always, thank you for the listen. Follow us on Anchor or anywhere you listen to podcasts. Those locations will not change for our show. Leave a comment, a rating, etc. It all helps. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/twodadsreview/message
We are getting deeper into this mystery with some major twists this episode. So we know everyone is talking about the big character reveal at the end BUT... We want to talk about Westview itself. To echo Vision's question, where are all the children? If she took over an already existing town, there would have to be kids there. So does that mean there is more to this town than we all expect? 4 episodes left for us to find out. As always thanks for the listen and please rate, follow and share our podcast so it can reach more Marvel fans like you.
Look at all the great information we got this week! It is like Jimmy Woo's whiteboard was able to read all our minds. Plus we got to see Darcy again and she was on point! She was hilarious and did more in 5 minutes than everyone else at the SWORD camp did in a day. As always, thank you for the listen. If you like what you hear, like and share with your friends.
The Dads continue to try and figure out what is actually going on in this show. Where is Wanda? Who is controlling everyone? Who is really behind this? Is Wanda the threat? No one knows. Marvel needs to give us a little actual information. As always, thank you for the listen. If you like what you hear, leave us a comment, a like, rate us, or just follow so you know when we drop each new episode.
The Dads are ready to tackle Phase 4 of Marvel. Starting with WandaVision. While the styling and fun of these episodes are not lost on us. Unless you are in it no matter what, they better give us more answers in the next episode as to who, what, when, where and why. If not, this may not be everyone's cup of tea. Join us for this discussion of what we think we know after these two episodes. As always, thank you for the listen, leave us a review, and share us with your friends.
"That Hope Is You, Part 2" Season Finale! Well done Discovery writers! Wrapped up all the season long plots while also setting us up with minor issues for next season. Overall fantastic season. Thanks for the ride! Come listen to our take on the episode. Most notably, the only decent admiral throughout Star Trek. As always, thank you for the listen and share us with you friends. Come back next week for our discussion of the serier premiere of "WandaVision."
"There Is A Tide..." Did anyone watching think that the negotiations were actually going to work? Even before the Dad-miral told Osyraa she was going to have to be tried for her crimes. We think not. So on to the rest of the episode...Die Hard in Space! Some great fights and nail biting going on. Next week's finale should be action packed but there is a lot to still wrap up to leave a good taste in our mouths. As always, thank you for the listen and please share us with your friends. LLAP
"Su'Kal" Ok, we found out the cause of the Burn. Tilly lost the Discovery. Burnham and the away team have a rough go at it. Yeah I think that checked all the boxes for this episode. Question we didn't ask while recording: how did Osyraa know where the Discovery was? There was a little exposition in the episode but was that really it? Or maybe someone is working for the enemy? Who do you think it might be. As always, thank you for the listen. Share us with your friends, give us a review, some stars, etc. Happy New Year everyone!
"Terra Firma, Part 2" Time for a glorious send off. But first off, the "fight" we get into at the beginning does have a good conclusion by the end of the episode. There may have been the need for a little more exposition so that the casual viewer would not have been as confused. What were your thoughts on this episode? Did we need a two part episode to complete what was done here? As always, thanks for the listen and live long and prosper.
"Terra Firma Part 1" Back to the mirror universe. What did everyone think of it? Who is the Carl? Have we seen him in another form in a past Star Trek series? We like that we are working on wrapping up Georgiou's arc for this season. We still need to learn about the burn and the Emerald Chain. If you are finding us for the first time, welcome. If you are a returning listener, welcome back. Thank all of you for your listen and we hope you come back next week for "Terra Firma Part 2"
"The Sanctuary" Questions as you listen: 1) How bad-ass are the refit weapons on Discovery? They haven't fired a shot since the refit and we need to see it. What they are hiding. 2) Which Federation ship in in the nebula? Is it one we already know? Is time travel involved? The Dads take the discussion on this episode into some fun places. Lots of speculation and a true deep dive into the new character this week. As always, thank you for the listen. If you like what you hear, share us with your friends.
"Unification III" Tilly as first officer? How do we all feel about this choice? We love her and are still a bit hesitant. Mostly just because of one of our military backgrounds. This episode was a nice extension of Unification Part 1 and 2. It gave us some great references without being heavy-handed with the fan service. We are learning more and more about this time each episode and tied up a few story strings as well. We now know where Burnham's mom is. As always, thank you for the listen and we hope you share us with your friends.
Time for a prison breakout episode! Plus some Grudge action and, oh yeah, the Discovery gets a refit! We need to know all about the updates to the ship but that may come in a future episode. Right now we are all worried about what is wrong with Georgiou. Tell us your theories. As always, thank you for the listen and share us with your friends. Live long and prosper.
STARFLEET! THE FEDERATION! Finally!!! Some great stuff in this episode. Some wonderful and solemn tributes to certain ships and characters of the past. The crew was in just as much awe as we were watching it. Let's home they can carve out their niche with this new Starfleet. As always thank you for the listen and we hope you come back for next week's episode.
NOTE: To skip the political talk, jump to the 13:20 mark. Time to travel to the very open minded Trill homeworld. Note the sarcasm. Some beautiful landscapes but they want to cut you open and drag the symbiote out of you. We discuss this venture into some decent character development before it is time to meet Starfleet and the Federation in the next episode. A bit of a light show, but probably well needed for what is left this season. As always, thank you for the listen, share us with your friends and sorry for the political talk.
The whole gang is back together. And Earth is pretty messed up. What caused The Burn? Where is the Federation? All great questions that we hope are answered this season. Bonus: Book reacting to all the old tech and the spore drive. As always, we appreciate the listen. Please share us with your friends. Reach out @twodadsreview on social media. Let's start a conversation.
DISCO is back, baby! The Dads are happy to dive into the third season (and soft reboot) of this great Trek stable. We felt that because it took us two episodes to see how everyone fared through the wormhole, we would wait and combine them. We hope you enjoy our discussion and, as always, thank you for the listen.
The Dads decided to wait and do a Wrap Up on this season once it was finished. Overall it did what it set out to do from the beginning: Be a love letter to Star Trek. And we believe it accomplished that. There are always ways to grow and improve. We hope Season 2 pushes the comedy line further into the adult zone. Time will tell. As always, thank you for the listen and we will be back next week for the Star Trek: Discovery Season 3 Premiere discussion.
Let's go second half of the season! This episode gets a little more "adult" with Badgey. So much so I probably should not have let my kid watch it. Badgey is this generation's nightmare fuel. Guess we will not watch "Gremlins" for a while. We also talk a little about other TV shows that are on right now: Hoops, Raised by Wolves, and Lovecraft Country. If you haven't, go check these shows out. As always, thank you for the listen and we will see you next week.
"Cupid's Errant Arrow" Halfway through the season. How are you all feeling about it? We are finding that we either want it to be more adult comedy or longer, more "Star Trek" type episode with some chuckles. We discuss Star Trek Day and the resulting information and trailers that came out. And as always, thank you for the listen and we hope you come back for next week's discussion of Episode 6.
"Moist Vessel" Let's just say this right now. This series gets better every episode. Great laughs and a genuine "Star Trek" episode. Nothing we need more than a problem of the week and a great scientific jargon to fix it. But we need you to settle our debate: does the rest of the crew know that Mariner is the Captain's daughter? And as always, thank you for the listen and we will catch you next week for the halfway point.
"Temporal Edict" We almost did it. Almost released a review on the same day the show was first available. But alas, I could not get it finished on the same day. Our review is hard on the show but fair to what is could become. There are numerous aspects that we do enjoy about this show and we have high hopes for it. Just take the kid gloves off and start hitting us with adult cartoon content. As always, thanks for the listen and we will see you next episode.
"Envoys" The Dads recap and review the next installment of Star Trek: Lower Decks. Better episode than last week. Not as much going on which let us learn more about our characters and their interactions with each other. As always, thank you for the listen and see you next week for episode 3.
THE DADS ARE BACK!!! Enough of 2020, we are back on the mic for 23 straight weeks of Star Trek on CBS All Access! Join us as we give our hot take on this brand new Star Trek property and the first animation since 1973. One of the only podcasts that give you both sides: trekkie and non-trekkie. Enjoy and as always, thanks for the listen.
We're back....again! Yes, another long break for us. But Corey got to watching some new movies and wanted to talk about this one. Guns Akimbo or Harry Potter Murders a Bunch of People. Either title works. This fun, fast action jaunt had us both captivated. Some of us might had crushed on Nix...or at least those teeth. We do talk some current events as well so jump to 17:50 if you want to get right into the movie review. We are back to weekly releases. Next week starts Season 1 of Star Trek: Lower Decks. As always, thank you for the listen and see you next week.
The Dads take their final stand on this season. Spoiler alert: We were underwhelmed. This might lead us to a little break. We know we will be back for Star Trek Discovery Season 3. We might catch up on a few movies from last year in the mean time. As always, thank you for the listen. We love you all.
"Maria and the Beast" Well, we are not going to mince words here. Not much happened this episode. The Dads clock in their shortest podcast in the history of this show. Not much to cover. Make sure you subscribe to our podcast, there is a possibility we will be doing a combined Ep. 8-10 recap and review podcast after the season wraps. Episode 8 will determine that. If it is another like this, we won't have much to talk about. But, thank you for the listen, that is always appreciated.
"How It Is with Brothers" Welcome to the Nathan Lane Show! Man, did he put on a clinic in this episode. He is quickly becoming my favorite part of this show. We are over the halfway point of this season and we need some answers soon. Mainly, which of the plots lines they have introduced is the one we need to be following to the end? We are ready for Magda's plan to be revealed. Thank you for the listen and we hope you share us with your friends. See you next week.
"Children of the Royal Sun" This episode set us up for everything that will be coming up soon. Every scene seemed to end on a cliffhanger and left us wanting to see what happens next. Not to shabby, if we do say so ourselves. Join the Dads as they tackle this episode, trains and all. If you are just finding us for the first time, remember to subscribe to us and turn on notifications. And, as always, thank you for the listen.
"Josefina and the Holy Spirit" Oh mama, what an episode. Plenty of cringe-worthy moments and some downright hard to watch. Just some real hard plot elements to take in. Scary kids, lots of sex (both consensual and other), dead kids, gruesome murder, and the list goes on. As always thank you for the listen. If you like what you hear, share us with your friends. See you next time for the half-way point episode of City of Angels.
"Wicked Old World" Everybody put on your zoot suits and get ready to dance! What about that scene in The Cat?! Pretty amazing. Plus we get to meet another of the characters played by the wonderful Natalie Dormer. And let's not forget someone draws a 1911 from a shoulder rig and pistol whips a guy all in one motion in this episode. C'est magnifique! As always, thanks for the listen. Remember to turn on notifications when you subscribe to the podcast. We never release on the same day.
"Dead People Lie Down" The Dads are really into this show. Lots of paths starting this episode. Let's hope they all come together by the end. The aftermath of the brawl is seen here and there are consequences for everyone's actions. Plus we are introduced to Molly and her angelic voice. But what is really behind those vocals? We shall see. As always, your listen is appreciated and we hope you share us with your friends. Tune in next week for our recap of Episode 3.
"Santa Muerte" The Dads decided to switch gears and tackle this brand new show. Having been fans of the previous Penny Dreadful iteration, their hopes are high. That being said, Corey is a little down on TV at the moment and he does not hide it at the beginning of this episode. We are really excited to see where this story takes us. There are some great characters and plots starting to develop. As always, thank you for the listen. Please share us with your friends and we hope you tune in for Episode 2.
"Nobody's Queen" Look at all the backstory we get in this episode. They are really pulling back the curtain on everyone right now. And the Dads love it! We are excited about finding out what the Loyalists are really planning. And be honest folks, do we really trust Hath? If you say YES without hesitating, watch the episode one more time. If you want to skip the Dads' random banter at the beginning, we dig into the episode starting at: 19:15. As always, thank you for the listen. If you like what you hear, find us everywhere on social media: @twodadsreview.
"Yippee Ki Yay" Still amazing! This was a team builder episode while also giving us some major backstory elements....AND karaoke to the death! This show literally has it all. Great comedic elements and some fantastic makeup and prosthetics round out this hilarious, feel good episode. Join the Dads as the walk through their favorite parts of it. Also, RIP Nim? As always, thanks for the listen and we hope you share us around your social media.
"A Royal Ass-Kicking" What an introduction for this show! Tells us just enough about where we are, what has happened and who we need to care about. Plus a little blood, curses, and gore. The Dads take on this new SyFy series and are hopeful that it will stay as strong as this first episode. If this is your first time finding us, welcome and thank you for the listen. Share us around if you like.
