This powerful message explores the intricate relationship between faith and forgiveness, revealing how unforgiveness can actually tangle up our faith and prevent us from accessing the depths of God's grace. Drawing from Colossians 3 and Mark 11, we discover that forgiveness isn't about forgetting what happened or even reconciling with those who hurt us—it's about releasing ourselves from the prison of bitterness and resentment. The sermon unpacks a crucial truth: we can pray for mountains to move and believe for breakthrough, but if we're holding grudges, we're asking our faith to do what only forgiveness was designed to accomplish. Like a rope with knots that prevents a bucket from reaching the water in a well, unforgiveness keeps us from drawing from the deep well of God's goodness. The paralyzed man lowered through the roof received forgiveness before healing, showing us the divine order: forgive first, then watch God move. We're challenged to see that buried unforgiveness becomes a root of bitterness that entangles everything around it, but the same faith that speaks to mountains can pull up those roots and cast them into the sea. This isn't just spiritual theory—it's the pathway to freedom, deeper faith, and the maximized potential God has for each of us.

If you just aren't ready for Halloween season to be over, join Byrd, Tom, Kevin, Lux, (and Trev, kind of) for a talk about one of Japan's biggest horror franchises, Ju-On (also known as the Grudge)!  This introduced the vengeful ghost Kayako and her son Toshio to the horror world and they have since become some of Japan's biggest horror icons.  The series was by Takashi Shimizu originally for two shorts as part of the School Ghost Stories tv specials, which later spun off into two full length direct to video films, Ju-On: The Curse and Ju-On: The Curse 2 in 2000.  They were successful enough that a third film, Ju-On: The Grudge was made for theatrical release in 2002, which led to the series becoming a global phenomenon (leading to Shimizu's own American remake starting a Hollywood branch of the franchise).  It was quickly followed by Ju-On: The Grudge 2 and many more sequels after.  As we discuss the first four movies and the history of the franchise, we'll discuss haunted houses, ghost children, time loops, and more!  Grab your leftover Halloween candy and enjoy the conversation!
