Večkrat nagrajeni najnovejši celovečerni film makedonskega režiserja in scenarista Georgija M. Unkovskega DJ Ahmet, ki ga je bilo moč videti tudi na lanskem Ljubljanskem filmskem festivalu, ima skoraj pravljično zasnovo. Ahmet, petnajstletni pastir ovac v neki odročni makedonski vasici, se zaljubi v premožno vrstnico Ayo, ki se je vrnila iz Nemčije zaradi dogovorjene poroke, ki si je seveda ne želi. Simpatija je obojestranska in pastirjeva naloga – v maniri dobrih starih klasičnih pravljic – je seveda dekletu pomagati pobegniti. Pri tem si, kakor se za tovrstni lik tudi spodobi, pomaga z zvijačo, ki pa ni nič drugega kakor elektronska glasba in težko bi si zamislili bolj slikovit prikaz trka dveh popolnoma različnih si svetov. Na eni strani izrazito tradicionalno ruralno okolje s stoletnimi pravili in tradicijo, ki ga poosebljajo Ahmetov oče in Ayina družina, na drugi mladi, svobodomiselni najstniki, ki se sredi gozda udeležijo rejverske zabave in objavljajo na TikToku. Ko se vmes vmeša še čreda pobeglih ovac, je kulisa za prepovedano ljubezensko zgodbo skoraj popolna. Prav podoba tehno rejva v gozdu je bila glavno režiserjevo izhodišče za zasnovo tega filma, ki se mu je potrdila kot pravilna, ko je nekega dne med iskanjem snemalnih lokacij opazil nekega pastirja z najnovejšim iPhonom in takoj vedel, da ima svoj film. Do končne oblike, v kateri se tako kot v življenju spretno prepletajo humor, žalost, toplina in melanholija, je nato minilo še pet let, rezultat pa je izrazito topla pripoved o odraščanju v svetu, ki mu v resnici ne pripadaš več. Da je Ahmetova usoda še bolj zapletena, mu je pred kratkim umrla mama, na katero je bil očitno zelo navezan in je bila tisti bolj svobodomiselni člen družine, njegov precej mlajši bratec Naim pa od takrat ne spregovori več niti besede. Oče, zavezan tradiciji in popolnoma nesposoben izražati svoja čustva do sinov, svojo nemoč ob tem preliva v trdo vzgojo, kar le še povečuje prepad med njimi. Igra Aksela Mehmeta je tako osredinjena predvsem na njegove oči, ki boleče močno izražajo vse tisto, česar ni sposoben izreči z besedo, spretna dramaturgija prizorov pa večkrat vzbudi upanje, da bo končno le že prišlo do preobrata. A za to se mora zgoditi nekaj zares posebnega, močnejšega od besed. Glasba. Kot univerzalni jezik, ki presega besedno komunikacijo, Ahmetova glasba, predvajana na izjemno duhovit način, nazadnje prebije zid medgeneracijskega nerazumevanja in premaga urok mamine smrti. Poleg glavnih treh igralcev, Arifa Jakupa kot ravno prav svojeglavega Ahmeta, izjemno simpatičnega Agusha Agusheva, ki je nalogo molčečega Naima opravil z odliko, ter Dore Akan Zlatanove, kot sodobne princeske Aye, ki ne potrebuje več rešitelja na belem konju, ampak samo pomočnika za izpeljavo svojega načrta, prav posebno vlogo odigrajo tudi številni slikoviti stranski liki ter pristno in izjemno fotogenično makedonsko okolje.
